Systematic Literature Review: The Obstacles of Madrasah Aliyah Students Facing Maharatul Qiraah

Reading proficiency is one of the important aspects of language learning. Arabic language assessment is also assessed through the individual's reading proficiency. Obstacles found in one Arabic language learning proficiency are aspects that need to be considered. Students experience obstacles that affect their learning achievement. Having an in-depth identification of the problems of maharah qiraah will make it easier for teachers to teach Arabic. This study uses a qualitative approach with a systematic literature review method. Data sources are obtained from the results of research conducted by other researchers. This is done so that researchers can access more information about the problems of maharah qiraah. To produce relevant research, researchers select articles published in the last five years. Data search uses "Publish or Perish" and also "Google Scholar." Data selection is based on keywords that researchers have determined. Data collected through the two software programs will be selected for as many as seven studies. The selection is based on three important aspects, namely topic relevance, research quality, and also the year of publication. The obstacles faced by both teachers and students are equally important to know. Achievement in learning does not only depend on the teacher but also the students. Each component is involved in achieving learning goals. One of the things that teachers can do to improve students' reading skills is to implement peer groups so that they can improve each other's reading. This study is expected to help teachers find the right solution in dealing with the problem of maharah qiraah

Faculty perceptions of a professional development program for developing CUREs and promoting inclusive and equitable teaching.

The Diffusion of Innovations (DOI) model can be used to explore how faculty prioritize learning about and adopting new pedagogical approaches. Here, we use the DOI framework to contextualize biology faculty perceptions of a professional development (PD) program designed to help them create a full semester course-based undergraduate research experience (CURE) class at a large, public comprehensive university. PD sessions included exploring self-reflexive identity while fostering inclusive classroom spaces through understanding and interrupting implicit bias and microaggressions. This qualitative study sought to determine 11 biology faculty members' beliefs about the influence of their year-long PD on their CURE development and teaching practices. Findings suggest that faculty were motivated to teach CUREs for a variety of reasons. A common incentive was integrating research into a CURE to bring their passion into their classroom and to engage more students in research. This may be particularly important at institutions where faculty have a heavy teaching load. Faculty also reported modifying their teaching in their CUREs and other courses to be more inclusive and equitable. The importance of peer interactions in the PD was emphasized repeatedly as faculty learned from experts, the literature, and faculty who had already developed a CURE. Our results illustrate that a community of practice structure can enhance the learning aspect of the community, helping faculty consider their implementation of inclusive, equitable, and high-impact practices as an ongoing educational process for themselves and emphasizing the importance of reflection and iteration in a DOI framework.

Customer perceptions regarding the comparison between fulfilling needs and desires and the accuracy of delivery to balance customer expectations which are closely related to the quality of products, services and human resources are called Service Quality. Teachers are the main aspect and key determinant of successful learning, policy implementation and creative, innovative efforts, as well as the democratization of education. Teachers are the main players and spearheads in the world of education. Therefore, the existence of programs that concretely always support, accompany and help to continue to develop the personal and professional qualities of teachers is a guarantee for brilliant education. Based on preliminary research, it is known that the permanent foundation teachers (GTY) of PGRI Vocational High Schools (SMK) in Bogor Regency have relatively suboptimal service quality. Therefore, research is needed to obtain information on variables related to improving service quality. The aim of this research is to make efforts to improve the quality of service for vocational school teachers by conducting research on the influence of the variables knowledge management, interpersonal communication, organizational support and job satisfaction. This research uses the path analysis method to determine the influence between the variables studied and the SITOREM method for indicator analysis in order to obtain optimal solutions in an effort to improve the quality of vocational school teacher services.

User-Centric Textual Descriptions of Privacy-Enhancing Technologies for Ad Tracking and Analytics

Describing Privacy Enhancing Technologies (PETs) to the general public is challenging but essential to convey the privacy protections they provide. Existing research has explored the explanation of differential privacy in health contexts. Our study adapts well-performing textual descriptions of local differential privacy from prior work to a new context and broadens the investigation to the descriptions of additional PETs. Specifically, we develop user-centric textual descriptions for popular PETs in ad tracking and analytics, including local differential privacy, federated learning with and without local differential privacy, and Google's Topics. We examine the applicability of previous findings to these expanded contexts, and evaluate the PET descriptions with quantitative and qualitative survey data (n=306). We find that adapting a process- and implications-focused approach to the ad tracking and analytics context achieved similar effects in facilitating user understanding compared to health contexts, and that our descriptions developed with this process+implications approach for the additional, understudied PETs help users understand PETs' processes. We also find that incorporating an implications statement into PET descriptions did not hurt user comprehension but also did not achieve a significant positive effect, which contrasts prior findings in health contexts. We note that the use of technical terms as well as the machine learning aspect of PETs, even without delving into specifics, led to confusion for some respondents. Based on our findings, we offer recommendations and insights for crafting effective user-centric descriptions of privacy-enhancing technologies.

THE INFLUENCE OF LEARNING STRATEGIES AND CONFIDENCE ON BASKETBALL DRIBBLE LEARNING OUTCOMES

Abstract Interdisciplinary approaches to understanding the factors that influence basketball dribble learning are also relevant. Psychological factors such as motivation, perception of self-esteem, and coping strategies in the face of failure can also influence player learning outcomes. Thus, this research not only explores the technical aspects of learning, but also expands our view of the psychological dynamics involved in the learning process of sports skills. Basketball Dribble is one of the demands in the learning process of PJOK in High School. In the process of learning of course each student has different skills – different. In this case, PJOK teachers are charged with using learning strategies that make it possible to match students. This research is a 2×2 factorial design experiment because it consists of two factors and each factor has two levels. The aim of this study was to determine whether the two learning strategies, the Inkuiri Learning Strategy (SPI) and the Problem-Based Learning Strategies (SPBM), had a greater influence on Dtibble basketball learning outcomes.

HISTORICAL ANALYSIS OF THE ORGANISATIONAL LEARNING OF EXERCISES WITHIN THE ARMED FORCES OF UKRAINE (DECEMBER 1991–FEBRUARY 2022)

The article examines the historical aspects of organisational learning of military exercises within the Ukrainian Armed Forces (from their creation in December 1991 until the largescale Russian invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2022). It compares this activity with the relevant practice of the North Atlantic Alliance. The research paper highlights two key stages in the operational and combat training of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: “Decline” (December 1991–April 2014), when the military learning was ineffective, which impacted the ability of Ukrainian troops to adapt and functionally counter Russian armed aggression, and ‘Modernization’ (April 2014–February 2022), during which the approaches to analyse and implement lessons were improved by the NATO standards. A comparative analysis of the organisational learning of military exercises within the Armed Forces of Ukraine and NATO during the above period (1991–2022) was carried out on the basis of studying five key elements of the lessons learned capability: organisational structure, process, tools, training, and information sharing.

Physics Learning Innovation: Song and Animation-Based Media as a Learning Solution for Mirrors and Lenses for Junior High School Students

Purpose of the study: This study aims to develop and assess the effectiveness of a physics learning media based on songs and animations to enhance motivation and understanding among Grade VIII students on the topics of mirrors and lenses.. Methodology: The study employed a mixed-methods approach, utilizing a procedural development model by Borg and Gall. Tools and software used include Adobe Audition 1.5, Wondershare Filmora, and Adobe Flash CS6. Data collection methods included questionnaires and expert reviews. Main Findings: The song and animation-based learning media received a "Very Valid" rating from content experts (90%) and a "Valid" rating from media experts (70%), with teachers giving an average score of 90%. The t-test results showed a significant increase in students' motivation in the experimental group, with a mean score of 79.50 compared to 68.07 in the control group, indicating the positive impact of the developed media. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study introduces an innovative approach by combining musical and animated elements in physics education, thereby stimulating both the left and right brain hemispheres. This dual-hemisphere engagement fosters a more interactive and enjoyable learning experience, bridging the gap in traditional physics instruction by addressing both logical and creative aspects of student learning.

Developing an AI-Powered Interactive Virtual Tutor for Enhanced Learning Experiences

The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in education has opened new avenues for enhancing personalized learning experiences. This paper proposes the development of an AI-powered interactive virtual tutor designed to support students throughout their educational journey. The virtual tutor leverages advanced natural language processing (NLP) algorithms, sentiment analysis, and machine learning to engage students in real-time, providing tailored guidance, explanations, and feedback. By analyzing students' learning patterns, emotional states, and progress, the AI tutor offers personalized recommendations and interventions, enhancing both cognitive and emotional aspects of learning. The system’s interactive features, including voice recognition and conversational AI, allow students to interact naturally, facilitating a more engaging and immersive learning experience. This paper also presents the architecture of the proposed virtual tutor, key technologies involved, and its potential impact on student learning outcomes. Initial results demonstrate significant improvements in student engagement, satisfaction, and academic performance, suggesting that AI-driven virtual tutors could revolutionize personalized education..

Simultaneous Remote Laparoscopic Training for Trainees Among Multiple Institutions: Can Remote Coaching Replace On-Site Coaching?

Regional disparities in medical practice between urban and rural areas in Japan represent a critical issue, and extend to the field of surgical education. To address these disparities, we evaluated the effectiveness of simultaneous remote coaching across multiple facilities using a standardized laparoscopic training method. A total of 28 trainees from a university hospital and 3 rural hospitals were categorized into remote and on-site coaching groups. The training curriculum included lectures, practical training, and assessments, conducted for 1 h per week using three sessions. The primary endpoint of the study was the change in time for ligation of one suture between the on-site and remote coaching groups, expressed as the median of the reduction suture time rate (RTR). Secondary endpoints included the RTR categorized by years of graduation and the results of a questionnaire survey of participants. Participants included 19 trainees in postgraduate year (PGY) 1-2 and 9 those in PGY 3-5. The median suture ligation time for the first attempt was 145 s (remote: 136 s vs. on-site: 160 s; p = 0.33) and that for the third attempt was 51 s (remote: 33 s vs. direct: 52 s; p = 0.91). The median RTR was 57%, with no significant difference observed between the remote and on-site coaching groups (43.2% vs. 71.2%, p = 0.26). The trainees' ratings for the training were generally favorable, with median ratings of 4 (range: 3-5) for the content of practical skills and 5 (4, 5) for the distance learning aspect, based on a 5-point Likert scale. Simultaneous remote laparoscopic training could be effective in reducing disparities in surgical education.

EDUCATIONAL AND PEDAGOGICAL CONDITIONS OF LEARNING ENGLISH BY STUDENTS DURING MARTIAL LAW IN UKRAINE

In the scientific review article, based on the analysis of scientific literature, pedagogical conditions are assigned, which are created for the study of a foreign language for students, in particular English. English is an international language of communication that opens up opportunities for access to information, cultural heritage and professional growth. In wartime, the ability to communicate in English becomes even more important for students for education who intend to continue their studies, professional activities or participate in international programs. As a result of the search, it was found that during distance learning and war conditions, there are several pedagogical strategies: communicative approach, project-based learning, adapted learning, as well as social networks, online platforms and courses for self-education in learning English. It is determined that there are many platforms that offer applicants various interactive courses covering aspects of language learning, such as vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and so on. These platforms often use game elements, making learning more interesting and effective. Such platforms are the most popular and efficient ways to self-study or enhance your knowledge of a foreign language, among them one can mention Coursera, edX, Udemy. In addition to interactive online platforms, social networks were analyzed and considered more closely. Instagram and Facebook are popular today not only for viewing photos, communicating with friends, but also for learning English, exchanging opinions and information. Social networks have been analyzed and found to be advantageous for in-depth study of the English language. Among many internet platforms the author identified two that are considered in different aspects to learn English. With their help, it is possible to improve your knowledge in grammar, vocabulary, and listening, but also learn more about culture, traditions, current events, significant dates, and participate in discussions on important social and other kinds of topics. The practical significance of the research results is to use pedagogical strategies and conditions for more effective and high-quality learning of English.

Розвиток множинного інтелекту в учнів початкової школи засобами технології контекстного навчання

The article states the interconnection of the sectoral competences of a New Ukrainian School graduate with nine types of multiple intelligences (verbal (linguistic), logical and mathematical, visual, kinesthetic, interpersonal, intrapersonal, musical, naturalistic and existential), describes the didactic potential of the content of educational sectors for their development. It has been established that the technology of contextual learning has ample opportunities for the development of junior schoolchildren's multiple intelligences through the use of subject tasks that are characterised by accessibility, interactivity, informativeness, and take into account personal, procedural and situational aspects of learning. This approach ensures a gradual transition from theoretical learning to practical application of knowledge, which contributes to the implementation of multisensory and activitybased methodological approaches. Based on the analysis of psychological, pedagogical, methodological works of domestic and foreign researchers, synthesis of educational and methodological ideas, the methods and forms of contextual learning that should be used in the process of developing different types of intelligence in primary school students are proposed. These include: role-playing, experiments and research, group projects, as well as the Interactive Maps toolkit from the MozaBook software, etc. The methodological feasibility of using such methods and forms of contextual learning for the development of different types of multiple intelligences in Grade 2 pupils is emphasised: mathematical games and puzzles, solving problems in the form of stories and real-life situations (logical and mathematical); roleplaying games with literary content, creating own mini-stories or poems (verbal and linguistic); projects, experiments and experiments «Not just a drop», «Tornado in a jar», «Enchanted button» (naturalistic); lessonquest «Safety Country» with the creation of a mini-book «Road Safety», group projects (interpersonal); online game «Interland», in particular the level «River of Reality», to master basic network etiquette and safety skills (emotional and personal).

Engineering students trust teachers who ask, listen, and respond

ABSTRACT Trust is an important aspect of learning. However, there is little published research on how students perceive its value. In this article, we report on engineering students’ perceptions of the role of trust in their learning and their experiences of what teachers do in their courses that builds trust. Nine students participated in semi-structured interviews and 477 student replies to a survey sent out by the Students’ Association in the same School of Engineering were analysed. We found that showing care and concern is the most important trust-building approach that teachers can use, followed by displaying what we classify as teaching skills. Based on these students’ perceptions, we suggest ways to incorporate explicit reference to trust-building in academic development efforts.

The Journal of Vocational, Adult and Continuing Education and Training (JOVACET) recognises the need for critical engagement through studies in TVET and Adult and Continuing Education and Training, and for encouraging critical scrutiny of this expansive knowledge area on the African continent. The voices and experiences of practitioners, reflecting on all aspects of teaching and learning within vocational education and adult education settings, should be heard through publication of empirical and robust research. While the journal clearly wishes to take forward academic scholarship, it also seeks to strengthen opportunities for reflective practice that makes a scholarly contribution to the field. New knowledge emerging out of complex developmental contexts has significant value and needs to be showcased beyond existing geographical and political boundaries. The journal is therefore committed to also supporting the development of emerging researchers by providing them with a space to present and defend their research among a network of global scholars. Within the field of vocational and continuing education there is substantive ‘grey literature’ that remains in project report form. The journal is potentially a vehicle for the translation of this important work into an academic contribution to a wider community of practice and thereby enhancing its value. The JOVACET will appear at least once a year. Learning planning plays a role in optimizing the use of learning time. Teachers can organize logical learning sequences, prioritize important learning topics, and avoid wasting time. This allows teachers to cover all aspects of learning well. Learning planning also has an impact on learning evaluation. Teachers can plan evaluations that are in line with learning objectives, use valid evaluation instruments, and collect accurate data about student achievement. With a good evaluation, teachers can see to what extent learning objectives are achieved, identify students' weaknesses and strengths, and make necessary improvements in teaching. Overall, learning planning has an important role in improving the quality of teaching. With good planning, teachers can direct teaching more effectively, provide learning experiences that are relevant and appropriate to student needs, and ensure that learning objectives are achieved well.

Critical Autoethnographic Narrative for Language Teacher Identity Development

English language teacher education requires a shift from a solely skills-based approach to one that addresses identity development and prepares teacher-learners to engage with issues of identity in the classroom. This article demonstrates the use of a critical autoethnographic narrative (CAN) assignment (adapted from Yazan, 2019) to foster language teacher identity development around these issues as a foundation for pedagogical praxis. The CAN assignment was developed for a sociolinguistics in education course required as part of a master’s degree program in educational linguistics, which enrolls primarily international students, at a prestigious private university in the northeastern United States. Authored by the instructor and two teacher-learners who were enrolled in the course, the article provides an overview of the course structure and key readings as well as prompts for a series of five short memos intended to stimulate reflection on and application of course topics, which included language varieties, speech communities, language ideologies, gender and sexuality, globalization, English as a Lingua Franca/World Englishes, and native-speakerism, to their own language-related experiences, identities, beliefs, and practices. At the conclusion of the semester, students compiled their memos into cohesive first-person narratives with references to the texts which influenced their thinking. Based on completed narratives and teacher-learner feedback, the CAN assignment achieved the goal of fostering critical reflection on sociolinguistic aspects of English language learning and teaching. Taking an autoethnographic approach in line with the assignment, the article includes excerpts from teacher-learners’ memos and CAN papers examining the roles that various languages have played in their personal and professional development and the connections between social environment, language, and identity. The article closes with recommendations for implementation of the assignment to foster awareness and foster practical application of sociolinguistic concepts.

Enhancing Principles Of Marketing Education Through Formative Assessment: Exploring The Impact Of Exit Tickets On Student Engagement And Effort

ABSTRACT Formative assessments, such as exit tickets, are effective tools for enhancing student reflection and understanding. While prevalent in K-12 education, their application in higher education remains underexplored. This study investigates the implementation of exit tickets in an undergraduate Principles of Marketing course, aiming to evaluate their influence on student engagement and resource utilization. Utilizing the MUSIC® Model of Academic Motivation Inventory, along with additional questions specific to exit ticket experiences, the study found that while exit tickets encourage students to engage more deeply with course material and make better use of educational resources, they have limited effectiveness in promoting extended study time. Furthermore, the impact on overall student motivation was negligible. These results suggest that while exit tickets can enhance certain aspects of student learning, their effectiveness in increasing sustained academic effort is constrained. This study contributes to the broader discourse on the applicability of formative assessments in higher education and highlights areas for future research on their integration and optimization.

Utilization and Challenges of Using ICT at SPM Al-Mashduqiah: Perception of English Teachers

The use of technology in English learning is becoming increasingly crucial to achieve optimal learning outcomes. This study aims to explore teachers' perceptions regarding the use and challenges of using Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in English learning at SPM Al-Mashduqiah. Using a qualitative method with a case study type, this study focuses on the perception of English teachers in the school as the subject of the study. Data were obtained through semi-structured interviews, observations, and documentation, which were then analyzed using a descriptive approach to describe and interpret the teacher's experiences and views in detail. The findings reveal that teachers have been utilizing ICT in various aspects of English learning, including the use of learning apps, interactive videos, and online platforms for assignments and evaluations. However, teachers face several challenges, such as limited facilities, lack of technical training, and resistance to changes from traditional teaching methods. Teachers' perceptions of ICT utilization vary; most view ICT as a tool capable of increasing student engagement and learning effectiveness, while others feel burdened by the need to master new technologies in their use in English learning. The study concludes that although the use of ICT in English learning at SPM Al-Mashduqiah has great potential to improve the quality of education, further efforts are needed to address existing challenges, including increased facility support and ongoing training for teachers. These findings are expected to provide valuable insights for policymakers and education practitioners in designing effective strategies for ICT integration, making an English learning more enjoyable and effective.
