Abstract Nine insecticides were evaluated for control of moderate populations of vegetable leafminers and their parasites on ‘Walter’ tomato seedlings. The 10 week old seedlings (on Dec 1) were grown in Speedling #400 seedling flats in a Speedling greenhouse in Sun City, FL. A soilless (peat and vermiculite) mixture was used to grow the 24 plants per flat. Each flat contained a single treatment with four plants making a replicate (N = 6). Foliar sprays were applied from a plastic quart hand sprayer. The seedlings were sprayed Dec 1, 7, 13, and 19, and collected Dec 21. Tomato plant replicates were placed in pint sherbet containers. Forty five days after collecting, the emerged adult leafminers and parasites were counted.
