Aviation defines soil characters as forms and images which are identifiable from aeroplanes. Though seldom till now, they are used by PR-agencies. Via media reports, large target groups are addressed. In 2000 the Bavarian State Institute of Agricultural Engineering in Weihenstephan made a soil character in the landing path of Munich II airport, in co-operation with Jeschenko Medien-Agentur GmbH. The necessary process technology and labour input were analysed.
