Objective To evaluate the effect of health poverty alleviation project on tuberculosis (TB) prevention and control in Linxia Hui autonomous prefecture of Gansu province and provide reference for the sustainable development of TB prevention and control in minority area in the future. Methods The surveillance data of TB in Linxia prefecture from 2017 to 2020. were collected for a descriptive and retrospective analysis Results After the implementation of health poverty alleviation project for 3 years, The etiologic positive rate of TB patients increased by 230.13%, The incidence rate of TB decreased by 56.39%, Sputum smear test rates in suspected TB cases increased by 5.74% compared with 2017, The overall referral rate of TB patients reported by integrated medical institutions increased by 3.77%, The drug resistance screening in new etiologic positive TB patients was conducted, the screening rate reached 93.43 % in 2020, The drug resistance screening rate increased by 274.95% in high-risk groups. Conclusion The implementation of health poverty alleviation project for 3 years has continuously strengthened laboratory construction, medical insurance, guidance and training at all levels in Linxia prefecture. The effect on TB prevention and control was remarkable, meeting the requirements of the 13th five-year plan and laying a solid foundation for the three years key action of TB prevention and control in minority area.
