A study has been made of the incorporation of acetate carboxyl carbon14 by Digitalis purpurea glycoside from labeled sodium acetate in hydroponic culture. A modified chromatographic method was employed for the isolation of the glycoside fractions. A major fraction, approximately 0.13 per cent yield, of amorphous glycoside was obtained, and this was found to be a glycoside of the gitoxin group. The chemical properties and radioactivity measurement of this glycoside fraction and its aglycone are reported.
