As one of the Korean endemic species, Abeliophyllum distichum Nakai were classified in to 1 variety,4 forma or 5 taxa and distributed in middle province mainly, from western region of gwanseu prov. to south prov. in Korea. In middle prov. (Chinchon and Koesan) A. distichum species were growing in west slope of gravelley field and being familiar with fair and being familiar with Spiraea prunifolia var. simpliciflora, whereas, in south prov. (Yongdong and Puan), those species were growing with Quercus variabilis-Zelkova serrata association in mixed and had high affinity with Ligustrum obtusiform, Securinega suffuticosa, Ampelopsis brevipedunculata var. heterophylla, Pueraria thunbergiana, Carex humilis and Oplismenus undulatifolius. Because of changing habitat of the species by building up Puan Dam and also Pyonsanbando might be south boundary region of geographical distribution, it was worth while to keep preservation of A. disticum species and their natural growth region, Puan and Yongdong, by doing endevour of the authorities concerned actively.
