The article tells about the role of museums in building the knowledge society, the knowledge economy and its component – the creative economy. Considering the experience of organizing and operating eco-museums, the author analyzes their features and substantiates the need to create such institutions in Azerbaijan. The article also talks about greenways that contribute to the development of tourism, the conservation of biodiversity and environmental protection.

Rola i zadania Inspektora Ochrony Danych w Archiwach Państwowych – próba oceny z perspektywy pięciu lat po wprowadzeniu unijnego ogólnego rozporządzenia o ochronie danych osobowych (RODO)

This article aims to assess the issue of data protection and the role and tasks of theData Protection Offi cer in the National Archives. With the introduction of the EU Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), much has changed in the perception of those who deal with these issues. The Data Protection Offi cer’s main concern is the proper handling of records that are produced in the process of any organizational unit’s activities, including those of the State Archives. The role and responsibilities of the Data Protection Offi cer in the state archives are the same as in other organizations. Due to the nature of the activities of the state archive network and the specifi c nature of an institution such as the archives, the duties of the Data Protection Offi cer are extremely important. On the one hand, the state archives service holds records with permanent retention, i.e. category A, and on the other hand it operates like a normal offi ce serving the public with its organizational structure. The management of information security in the age of the knowledge society is the key issue in any institution, for which the Data Protection Offi cer is responsible. The information security system itself must be well designed and thought out. The EU legislator intended the function of the Data Protection Offi cer to protect our privacy as well. The system of personal data protection has been in place in Poland for twenty-six years, and after the implementation of the GDPR (along with penalties for improper processing of personal data), we are increasingly considering it as our inalienable right to have our personal data well processed and not shared with unauthorized persons.

La Theorie der Unbildung di Konrad Paul Liessmann

The article focuses on a German-language essay written by Konrad Paul Liessmann in 2006, entitled Theorie der Unbildung. Die Irrtümer der Wissensgesellschaft (Theory of Unbildung. The mistakes of the knowledge society). In this book, the Austrian philosopher dwells on the relationship between the concepts of “Wissen” (knowledge) and "Bildung” (human formation) in contemporary society. With his pedagogical critique, Liessmann formulates here a theory of Unbildung, with a direct reference to the absence of human self-formation – so evident nowadays.

REASON, LANGUAGE, COMMUNICATI ON – SOME ASPECTS OF PRAGMATIC KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge has a major role, both in the development of a person, but also of the whole society. Today's society is a society of knowledge. Knowledge cannot evolve separately from information. The quantity and quality of information largely depends on its processing by artificial intelligence. The involvement of knowledge in the field of artificial intelligence is not possible without critical thinking. A knowledge society is not perceived without the involvement of researchers. They are those who promote and develop scientific knowledge. This type of knowledge is found in all areas of activity of the society. Hence the social responsibility of the scientists in the scientific context of direct activity.

THE CONTEMPORARY RELEVANCE, BARRIERS AND BENEFITS OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF READING INTEREST IN LOWER SECONDARY EDUCATION

Nowadays the importance of reading is increasing, emphasised and valued not only in the field of education, but also in the context of the development of the knowledge society. If an individual is not able to understand the meaning of a text, he is not able to analyse, critically evaluate and verify the information and facts it contains as well as to formulate own opinion. This also undermines the growth of society, because in the 21st century forming one's own opinion is a prerequisite and a cornerstone for the existence of a democratic society. It must be admitted that students` interest in reading in Latvia is decreasing rapidly: only 13% of respondents aged 15-18 read a book every day or every other day. Therefore it is important not only to put emphasis on developing reading skills, but also to promote students' interest in reading and individual reading behaviour. The aim of this publication is to describe the possibilities of promoting reading in lower secondary school as well as the theoretical and empirical aspects of students' individual interest in reading.

Education at the middle and higher level: Information Technologies, pre-eminence in teaching and learning processes in period of pandemic

At present, the influence generated by globalization, the knowledge society and information technologies (IT) propose challenges to educational institutions, the above due to changes related to educational models, job skills, interaction styles and communication between the different social sectors, and even in unexpected phenomena, such as the pandemic generated by COVID-19, a situation that caused chaos in the teaching and learning processes, where teachers and students had overnight the need to resort to technological tools and distance learning platforms in order to conclude a complicated 2020-2021 school year. This document analyzes the increasing influence of IT, the way in which these have increasingly modified educational spaces, for such analysis relevant IT issues that impact the teaching and learning processes are reviewed, at the same time it is also examined how the IT facilitate new pedagogical schemes, thus generating a range of possibilities in training modalities both for the field of online education or for face-to- face education, or even for mixed education (b-learning). Regarding academic training with IT, these allow differentiating a more influential training in students, discovering in them skills to solve problems, professional skills and complete learning, turning them into increasingly competent individuals.

Legal principles of ensuring social security in the conditions of digitalization of Ukraine

The transformation of society is due to the development of the information society and the gradual transition to the knowledge society, the impact of digitization on all spheres of life of society and citizens. Recently, the issue of the transformation of social security in the context of the development of digitalization of all spheres of the life of the state and society has been brought up to date. The purpose of the article is to analyze the legal framework for ensuring social security in the context of digitalization in Ukraine with a view to developing the ways to improve the policy in this area. The methodology of the article is based on a complex, interdisciplinary approach, the principle of historicism for conducting a legal analysis of normative legal acts in the field of social security of Ukraine for 1990-2022 in the conditions of digitalization. The results demonstrate the dynamism of technology development and digitalization of society with slow legislative changes in the field of social security. Since the beginning of 2007, legislative provisions in the researched field and conceptual principles of digitalization of the socio-economic system have been implemented in Ukraine. Complex digitization is aimed at comprehensive and deep transformation of existing analogues of economic and social systems and spheres into new value and quality to ensure social security of the state, society and citizen. Therefore, the authors note the importance of introducing key legislative acts regarding the effective implementation of digital technologies in the further development of social security in accordance with the strategic goals of the state and modern technological trends.

The article examines the modern requirements of society to the universal competencies of university graduates through the prism of publications in the leading media. Employers expect professionals from universities with a set of necessary professional and supra-professional competencies. Modern Russian media reflect discussions in academic, scientific, and professional circles that affect the requirements of employers and society for professional knowledge and universal core competencies imposed on young employees.

The role and functions of soil in the Information and Knowledge Society

Much has been written about the soil over time, from different perspectives, however, the soil as an entity, as well as its role and functions are far from being fully recorded. In the Information and Knowledge Society, soil still has a significant role to play, in terms of its functions at the community level. We set out to make some scientific remarks and examples on these issues. Also, the soil is subjected to analysis as a cosmic-telluric-biotic product, in its gradual transition from the Hunting and Agrarian Society to the Society based on technology, information, and knowledge. What we have managed to summarize is a summum of definitions of the soil, and a conglomeration of functions, carefully nuanced and delimited, which open the way for the reader from the soil seen as a resource-support of the technosphere to the soil treated as a primary scientific concern.

Promoting Life Competences in the Knowledge Society: The Contribution of Knowledge Building Model for Educational Systems

This article analyzes the possibility of using the Knowledge Building model in schools to promote the skills and abilities indicated by the LifeComp framework. After placing the LifeComp framework in the current social and cultural context of the knowledge society, the principles of the Knowledge Building model are examined and the technological infrastructure to support it, Knowledge Forum, is presented. A hypothesis on how the design of a Knowledge Building community can promote the competences of the LifeComp Framework is proposed and research evidence to support the hypothesis is provided. Some implications of this analysis and recommended changes for educational institutions to pursue this perspective are then discussed.

Absorptive Capacity in Inbound and Outbound Open Innovation in Emerging Economy context

The knowledge society is characterized by competitive and complex business environments, a situation that forces companies to develop permanent innovation processes to generate competitive advantages that allow them to survive in a new business environment. In response to this premise, dynamic capabilities and specifically Absorptive Capacity (ACAP), is the most relevant capacity to obtain higher levels of organizational performance. In this context, this study analyzed whether ACAP influences the development of inbound and outbound open innovation. Through surveys directed at 252 managers of SMEs that offer technology services in an emerging economy, and using the PLS-SEM technique, it was evidenced that ACAP has a positive relationship with Inbound and Outbound Open Innovation. The results reveal that the application of innovation models requires the development of dynamic capabilities, mainly absorptive capacity, with four of its components: assimilation, acquisition, transformation and exploitation. Organizations must adopt strategies to correctly detect and absorb external knowledge in order to establish an adequate connection with internal knowledge and, in this way, take advantage of the benefits inherent to open innovation.

Cultivating Global Scholars: Delving into Chinese Doctoral Students’ Integration Experiences at Finnish Universities Through an Institutional Logics Lens

AbstractInternational doctoral students are key actors in globalized knowledge society. While the value of international doctorates lies in the ability to develop and leverage knowledge across borders and cultures, such competencies can be acquired only when students successfully integrate into the host systems or universities in their international mobility experiences. However, international doctoral students encounter multiple challenges in integration, highlighting a mismatch between their expectations and the practices at the host universities. This article unpacks this mismatch and its causes from an institutional logics’ perspective through interviews with ten Chinese doctoral students and four Finnish supervisors. We found that Chinese students’ expectations of doctoral education were largely influenced by the institutional logics of profession, bureaucratic state, and family, whereas the contexts of Finnish universities were mainly informed by the logics of profession, democratic state, and corporation. The disparity in logic constellations led to the students’ confusion about their role and relations with supervisors. Further, this study shows that reciprocal learning in intercultural supervision can mitigate logics conflicts and create opportunities for innovations in doctoral education in the host university. We call for more efforts to reconcile the logics conflicts that that affect students’ integration, as this could foster organizational innovation.

Digital transformation in education: A systematic review of education 4.0

Technological developments as part of Industry 4.0 are leading to significant changes in terms of new systems, approaches, and management systems with a multitude of implications for human life. Social evolution from an agricultural society to an industrial society, and from an information society to a knowledge society has not only transformed manufacturing systems, but also how societies deal with other fields, such as education, health, and the environment. Unlike memorization-oriented education approaches, Education 4.0 is a new experience-based education system that uses technology and meets the expectations of today's world within the framework of personalized education needs. Recent literature highlights the importance of digital transformation in education and the use of an array of specific digital technologies. However, Education 4.0 emerges as a relatively new topic in the literature. In this study, the concept of Education 4.0 is examined and possible changes in known education systems are highlighted. The aim of this paper is to determine current research topics, explore knowledge gaps, and propose future directions in this field by reviewing the published literature on Education 4.0. Two different searches were made in the Web of Science core collection database, where journals were scanned and studies determined. Both quantitative analysis and qualitative discussion were used to analyze the state of the art. The study contributes a structured overview of Education 4.0-related publications and reports on the existing state of literature, categorize publications, analyze and link trends, highlight gaps, and accordingly guides future research.

Representasi kelompok lesbian, gay, biseksual, dan transgender (LGBT) dalam pemberitaan Detik.com

The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) group is a group that is marginalized due to issues of gender and sexuality. The LGBT community is often stigmatized as immoral and deviant, considered the source of HIV/AIDS, contrary to religion, as a disease, and not by state ideology. Society's knowledge of heteronormative gender and sexuality makes the LGBT group abnormal. The media can construct or deconstruct what people believe to be true. This study intends to explain how the representation of LGBT groups in news coverage in the mass media. In particular, the news in the online media Detik.com. Detik.com was chosen because it is one of the pioneers of internet-based mass media and always occupies Indonesia's top ten most popular websites. This research used Norman Fairclough's critical discourse analysis method, focusing on social structure, class, and social relations. Norman Fairclough presents three dimensions of analysis: text analysis, discourse practice, and sociocultural practice. The study results show Detik.com reporting on LGBT issues dominates in putting LGBT groups in a corner. The LGBT group is still represented as "deviant" and prone to discrimination.

Predicting teachers’ use of digital technology

In recent years, the use of digital technology and its relationship to the ability known as digital competence has become a core concept in discussions about the skills that individuals should possess in a knowledge society. Teachers’ skills in using digital technology are becoming a critical component of developing practical pedagogical knowledge for practice and student learning enhancement. The purpose of this study is to predict the factors that influence secondary school teachers when it comes to using digital technology. This study will establish relationships between personal innovativeness, technology self-efficacy, attitude toward digital technology, and digital competence. In Pahang, Malaysia, a survey was conducted with 493 secondary school teachers from 50 public secondary schools of 11 districts. Proportionate stratified sampling, cluster random sampling, and simple random sampling were used to obtain samples. The findings have established that technology self-efficacy, attitude towards digital technology, and digital competence significantly affect how teachers use digital technology. These findings emphasize the importance of increasing teachers’ digital competence as well as numerous elements that influence teachers’ use of digital technology to fulfill the expectations of future qualified professions and thus prepare students for their future.

Development and Preservation of Human Capital Under the Conditions of the Creative Economy

The transformation of the world economy is characterized by a change of emphasis from an industrial society to a society of knowledge and intelligence. This leads to the emergence of a new segment of the economy – the creative economy, which is essentially a symbiosis of culture, art and economy and it is based on creative human capital. The purpose of the academic paper is to study the features of the process of intellectualization, the role of human capital and its creative functions in a new type of economy based on intellectual activity. Methods. The basic methods used in the present research are as follows: statistical analysis, index and analytical methods, methods for estimating structural dynamic shifts, the method of comparisons. Along with this, the generally accepted methods of economic research have been also used, namely: the economic and statistical method and the method of economic and mathematical modeling (regression analysis) (in order to determine the impact of indicators characterizing the development of the creative sector of the economy on the level of GDP per capita), etc. Results. The importance of the creative economy in the development of the European countries and the role of human capital in the context of the formation of this economy sector has been updated. The essence of the category “development of human capital under the conditions of a creative economy” has been defined and its components have been specified. The features of the creative economy’s structure in the EU have been analyzed through the study of the dynamics of the number and structure of enterprises operating in the creative sphere. The number and the relative share of the population employed in the creative sector of the economy have been studied. The basic features of human capital development in European countries through the dynamics of the following indicators have been illustrated, namely: the coefficient of age dependence, life expectancy of the population, the risk of poverty, fully representing the social standards of the EU member states. In order to study the mutual interaction of the creative economy and human capital, a regression analysis has been performed. The basic components of development and preservation of human capital under the conditions of creative economy have been outlined.

Power to the Faculty Approach in the Bologna Process: How does the European Approach to accreditation of joint programs enhance innovation capacity?

The article analyses how the application of the new system for the accreditation of joint master’s programmes helps to improve the quality of training in accordance with requirements in the context of Europeanisation and globalisation of the educational space. The processes of democratization taking place in the European space, the active formation of public institutions, the strategy of integrating the countries of the Western Balkans and the Eastern Partnership into the European community, including the European educational space, put forward new requirements for higher education, in which the need to ensure a high quality of education is clearly visible, meeting European standards.In the context of the formation of a knowledge society, higher education in the field of political science is becoming a priority in the development of the countries of the Eastern Partnership and the European Community. The development tasks of this sphere are ambiguous, manifesting themselves in complex and contradictory relations with society. Experiencing the influence of modern trends in social development, the sphere of higher education in the field of political science becomes at the same time their active participant, driving force and catalyst.In an environment of growing globalisation, which is manifested in the intensification of competition on a global scale, there is a strengthening of the positions of the EU member states. The decisive factor in overcoming the secondary position of Europe in the market of educational services is the unification of the efforts of all European countries aimed at achieving the competitiveness of higher education. The embodiment of this idea is the Bologna Process, which aims to create a common European education area.

The Effects of Dynamic Absorptive Capacity on Innovation Strategy: Evidence from SMEs in a Technological Context

Absorptive capacity and innovation strategies are determining issues for the survival of organizations in current contexts. While organizations are immersed in the knowledge society, managers face great challenges to respond to market needs and performance in innovation ecosystems. This article aims to analyze the effects of absorptive capacity on the implementation of innovation strategy. A quantitative research study was conducted with a sample of 51 SMEs, and the construct model was analyzed using the SEM method. The results indicate that there is a high correlation between the level of absorptive capacity and innovation strategies. Even though firms in this specific sector work with advanced technologies, there is a basic level of development of absorptive capacity, generating some difficulties for the design and implementation of innovation strategies. Furthermore, by using the acquisition, assimilation, transformation, and exploitation of knowledge from the competitive landscape, firms improve their adaptability in the technological environment. The effects of absorptive capacity on innovation strategy contribute to the development of the extant literature on innovation management strategy and provide some managerial implications and future research areas.

The evolution of student entrepreneurship: State of the art and emerging research direction

In the knowledge society, universities are asked to contribute to regional development and economic growth through the direct exploitation of research products and, indirectly, through enhancing entrepreneurial awareness in students. Student entrepreneurship (SE) gained increasing relevance among scholars that suggest more research is needed and identify student entrepreneurship as an emerging and growing phenomenon. In this paper, we present the results of a systematization of the current literature to define the state of the art and identify possible new research directions, analyzing 288 published articles in the main International Entrepreneurship and Management Journals and the main journals in Education and Management Business Accounting subject area. The results are presented in two macro sections. The first one is related to the corpus overview and bibliometrics which explores articles by evolution on time, author, citation analysis, and journals. The second section will involve a content analysis that highlights the main issues that emerge from the analysis of the papers, such as the most frequently used theories, data gathering methodologies and methods and mechanisms adopted by universities to support and promote SE. We are confident that these topic areas will significantly help any researcher approaching the study of SE by offering an overview of the different sub-fields in this area. Our work offers suggestions to management educators and business schools administrators to identify new ways to support student entrepreneurs by enhancing their entrepreneurial activities, and institutional leader to rethink policies that encourage entrepreneurship among students.

Aspiration Versus Apprehension: Economic Opportunities and Electoral Preferences

AbstractRecent studies take increasingly refined views of how socioeconomic conditions influence political behaviour. We add to this literature by exploring how voters' prospective evaluations of long-term economic and social opportunities relate to electoral contestation versus the stabilization of the political-economic system underpinning the knowledge society. Using survey data from eight West European countries, we show that positive prospects are associated with higher support for mainstream parties (incumbents and opposition) and lower support for radical parties on all levels of material well-being. Our results support the idea that ‘aspirational voters’ with positive evaluations of opportunities (for themselves or their children) represent an important stabilizing force in advanced democratic capitalism. However, we also highlight the importance of radical party support among ‘apprehensive voters’, who are economically secure but perceive a lack of long-term opportunities. To assess the implications of these findings, we discuss the relative importance of these groups across different countries.
