A Qualitative Study on EFL Teachers’ Awareness towards the Implementation of Dynamic Assessment

The researchers dealt with the art of the Maqamat in the Ottoman era, the era that was and is still being attacked as degenerate because of the preoccupation with luxury and the recreational life of seeking knowledge and writing sciences. It was presented in the art of maqamat; It made it a literary, social and political summit, and perhaps the religious presence included it as a solution and travel. Among the pioneers of the Ottoman shrines whose shrines were dealt with in this research are Shihab al-Din al-Khafaji, al-Yaziji, al-Shidyaq, Nicola al-Turk and others. And the topics of the maqamat were varied, including social, religious, literary and scientific, and I also found artistic effects in the composition of the maqamat from the beginning, the content and the end, and the good formulation of the plot and the content.

KH Hasyim Asy’ari On Seeking Knowledge And Teacher's Virtue

An educational assessment is not only about report card scores or a good compulsive achievement index, more than that, education is also an effort to make a whole person. Many people today only look at the material and therefore neglect the true essence of education. This paper is here for a reference to the education system that has been pioneered by KH Hasyim Asy’ari who makes people educated is not only academic but also from the awareness of the heart. The research method carried out uses a qualitative approach to literature studies. The author collects data sources from various relevant references to conservative religious thought promoted by KH Hasyim Asy’ari. Data analysis techniques are carried out using the Miles and Huberman model, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study describe the educational thinking of KH Hasyim Asy’ari, Tebuireng Islamic boarding school, educational thought or philosophy of Islamic education of KH Hasyim Asy'ari include virtue science and science experts and virtue teaches and studies science, ethics for knowledge seekers, student ethics towards teachers, and teacher ethics towards students.

Motivational factors influencing nurses’ participation in continuing education sessions: A hospital-based study

In order to stay up-to-date in the nursing field, nurses must pursue continuous education. This study examined nurses’ motivations to take part in continuing education activities by conducting a survey amongst a sample of nurses employed in two hospitals in south-east Morocco. The survey was carried out using a two-part self-administered questionnaire. Out of 144 nurses who received the questionnaire, 118 (84%) replied. The results showed that the majority of nurses have never participated in a continuing education session in the last 3 years. Respondents’ motivation for continuing education was mainly intrinsic, with the emphasis on factors related to professional competence and knowledge seeking. The use of such results can therefore be of great use to both managers and practitioners in planning continuing education programmes. However, it is desirable that more studies take place to investigate further the issue of continuing education with the aim of promoting and developing professional nursing skills.

Dark Patterns and Epistemic Ignorance: an Educational Crisis

In this paper, we discuss how online AI stimulates epistemic ignorance. Early visions of online information search and retrieval processes proposed a utopian and empowering space for individuals. Today’s crisis paradoxically presents us with an unprecedented accumulation of new information and access to it, yet also the colonisation of this knowledge by those who seek to erode critical thought. By ‘epistemic ignorance’, we mean the condition which is systematically created by the patterns of mis- and disinformation that prevent knowledge seekers from gaining verified knowledge. We argue not only has the ‘knower’ or knowledge seeker become the ‘known’ (sometimes without knowing it), their ability ‘to know’ is also intentionally manipulated by dark patterns. Moreover, their ‘known’ status allows for their subtle indoctrination, and erosion of criticality. This makes the crisis an educational one. To illustrate, we consider epistemic mechanisms on Facebook pertaining to the early stage of the Covid-19 pandemic. We contend these ‘dark AI patterns’ intentionally aim for systemic indoctrination, and affective indoctrination, by engaging in the construction of epistemic ignorance. Our focus is on the political agenda; which is common in the wider discussion of indoctrination in education. Many educational philosophers have taken a critical interest in the power of education to indoctrinate. The formal educational space is an effective vehicle to do so – and now the informal education we receive through social media is as well. Through algorithms, we are taught to think a certain way. This new crisis has not yet been considered an educational one, while in every moment, the coercive powers of online AI drive audiences towards greater uncritical acceptance of knowledge and information. Perhaps we can reverse the educational oppression with the introduction of ‘light patterns’.

İslam Eğitim Geleneğinin Teşekkülünde Hadislerin Etkisi: Rihle Örneği

Arabian society, which lived on the border of two great civilizations in the 7th century in an ignorant life away from civilization, experienced great changes and transformations when Islam emerged. The Arabs of the Age of Jahiliyya, which does not have any written document about the pre-Islamic period, built a great civilization that started with the example and practices of the Prophet and the principles and messages of the Qur’an. No doubt, the messages of the Qur’an, which guided people toward science and education in the first place, had great effects on this great transformation. The education-intensive messages of the Qur’an came to life and gained meaning with the practices of the Prophet. With his message, “I was sent as a teacher” the Prophet paved the way for the formation of a great scientific and educational tradition for the following periods with his practices and verbal messages. Unmatched in previous religions, the great incentives on the way leading to the demand for knowledge turned Muslims into great seekers of knowledge and education. The Hadith “Achieve knowledge even if it is in China” and similar messages paved the way for scientific journeys (Rihle), which have an important place in the history of Islamic education. Hatib al-Baghdadi revealed the transformation of the messages of the Prophet into “Rihle” as an educational tradition with his work under the same name. ın this way, in addition to the emphasis of the verses on science, the Prophet’s pointing out science and education to his ummah as a target was the basis for the formation of a great scientific and educational tradition.

Knowledge sharing, knowledge seeking, and emotions: A longitudinal study of hospital restructuring decision making

Prior research examines factors that enable or hinder knowledge sharing and knowledge seeking in groups. However, individuals also share and seek knowledge outside group meetings, especially if the group is making strategic decisions over time. Therefore, this study examines how, during a longitudinal strategic decision-making process, the emotions of group members and knowledge sharing within the group affect their knowledge-sharing intentions and knowledge-seeking behaviors beyond the group. We focus on a single organization, a hospital, whose board created a citizen advisory panel (CAP) of 28 individuals to gather community input on the restructuring of the hospital's activities to contain costs. The group met in five all-day sessions to provide their input. We surveyed each member before the CAP process and after each CAP session. The resulting longitudinal data were analyzed using panel-data techniques, with the findings being complemented by qualitative insights. The results indicate, somewhat surprisingly, that both positive and negative emotions (specifically enthusiasm and anxiety) positively affect both knowledge-sharing intentions and knowledge sharing within groups in strategic decision-making contexts. We also find that enthusiasm, anxiety, and perceived relative knowledge within groups positively affect subsequent knowledge-seeking behaviors. Our findings contribute to the literature on knowledge management and organizational decision making. The study provides insights into how, in groups making strategic decisions over time, emotions as well as knowledge sharing within groups affect knowledge-related intentions and behaviors beyond the groups. The study also adds to the theory of planned behavior to highlight the role of emotions in influencing intentions and behaviors.

Making the Invisible, Visible

This poster analyzes consensus methods (e.g., CDP, Delphi, RAM, and NGT) by experts in scientific and technological contexts. Consensus methods provide opportunities for experts in different geographical locations and organizations to come together to deliberate and define their level of agreement on a complex topic (e.g., public health, environment, technology use). These experts are authoritative knowledge seekers with high H-Index scores and honorific society memberships. For these very reasons, their recommendations shift paradigms and influence policies. However, there are times when group deliberations lead to multiple and contradictory recommendations.
 Three research questions were developed for this study: How do experts reach a consensus? What information-seeking behaviors do they employ (using retrieval systems and software applications? Lastly, how do they understand consensus development processes? I applied ethnographic methods, including document analysis and retrospective experience, to collect data, and used data visualization to present preliminary insights.
 Preliminary insights remove ambiguity in defining what consensus is and what it is not. Based on a historical analysis of scientific consensus, four significant shifts that have led us to modern-day consensus methods is described, and a process for which experts negotiate agreement is explained. Finally, there is a call to action for information professionals and LAM institutions to push back against invisible labor in order to convey how our profession, in particular, our subject matter expertise and systems knowledge, significantly impacts scientific consensus development.

Qualitative study exploring perceptions, attitudes and practices of adolescent university students in Lagos, Nigeria, towards a healthy lifestyle.

Lifestyle behaviours such as physical activity, dietary habits and sedentary behaviour are developed and established during adolescent years. This study aimed to explore the perceptions, attitudes and practices of adolescent university students in Lagos, Nigeria, towards healthy lifestyle. Three university institutions in Lagos, Nigeria. Qualitative research design was employed. In-depth interviews (IDIs) using an audio-recorder were conducted with 18 adolescent university students recruited through purposive sampling from three university institutions in Lagos, Nigeria. Recorded interviews were transcribed verbatim and thematic content analysis was used to analyse transcribed data. Study participants perceived a healthy lifestyle as balanced diet, regular physical activity and disease prevention. They described their attitudes and practices towards a healthy lifestyle in terms of personal conviction and disposition, regular physical activity and consumption of fruits and vegetables. Meal skipping and junk food consumption were notable unhealthy dietary practices. Home environment, school campus physical environment, peers, secondary school background and concerns about fast food quality were positive influences towards healthy lifestyle, while academic schedules, personal disposition school campus eateries and sociocultural background were negative influences. Computer and Internet activity was the main sedentary activity. Study participants' perception of healthy lifestyles in terms of balanced diet and physical activity aligned with the evidence-based guidelines for healthy lifestyle concepts. Regulatory policies and built environment that promote healthy dietary practices among adolescent university students are recommended.Contribution: Future research is suggested to examine the benefit of study participants' engagement in computer or Internet sedentary activities for academic activity and knowledge seeking towards healthy lifestyles.

Scientific construction or the order of science certainly has some connection with some understanding of how a person seeks knowledge. Included in it will be touched on how the condition of the mind or physical when conducting the process of seeking knowledge, the factors that can support a person in sharpening his memory in seeking knowledge and several things that can cause a person's brain to easily forget the learning material. The purpose of this article is to re-emerge the concept of the order of science based on several classical books. The research methodology used is the method of literature review of Arabic-language books that discuss the order of science in education. The results of this literature review reaffirm that the authors of the classical book combined educational theory with the study of fiqh and morality.

Cultural and knowledge seeking by visitors at World Heritage Sites: The case of Coimbra

This paper develops within cultural tourism studies, focusing on a World Heritage Site (WHS) and demonstrates the importance of perceiving cultural tourists’ preferences so that organizing entities and decision-makers can design different cultural tourist products to meet their expectations. A survey was conducted by self-administered questionnaires designed to identify, among other characteristics, the degree to which cultural tourists are interested in highly demanding travel experiences that will enhance their knowledge of local culture and history, with participatory activities with interpretation, and other events that require a high level of engagement, through intellectual and emotional immersiveness. Results seem to reveal perceptions of culture as a source of new values and the preference for innovative, intellectually challenging site presentation and interpretation.

The experiences of adolescent siblings of children with rare genetic conditions: "It's made me who I am".

Childhood genetic conditions impact not only the child who is diagnosed but also the day-to-day lives of all members of a family. However, our understanding of the perspectives and needs of unaffected adolescents in families affected by rare genetic conditions is limited. To address this gap, we conducted semi-structured interviews with 10 participants aged 14-20 years, all of whom had a sibling with a rare genetic condition. An interpretive description approach was used to develop a framework that described how participants' experiences of having a sibling with a rare genetic condition shaped the formation of their identity. This experience influenced identity formation both directly, and indirectly through four other phenomena: (1) normalization, of both their own experiences and their siblings' differences; (2) knowledge seeking, regarding their sibling's condition and what uncertainties remained; (3) caretaking, which limited some opportunities and was associated with uncertainty around the future; and (4) social experience, including their relationship with their affected sibling, with their peers, and with the rest of their family participants felt that they were isolated and lacked appropriate supports. The results of this study can help to inform a family-centered approach to genetic counseling and highlight the importance of tailored supports for this population.

Modernists' view of the objective interpretation

Praise be to God, Lord of the worlds, praise be to God, praise be to the thankful, who says in His Mighty Book (7) And [remember] when your Lord proclaimed, 'If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favour]; but if you deny, indeed, my punishment is severe.'" The emergence of objective interpretation as a science-independent breakthrough for the seeker of knowledge and the researcher, hence, the research dealt with in this research entitled (The Modernists' Look at Objective Interpretation), which includes an introduction, two chapters and a conclusion. The first chapter was: (Dimensions of objective interpretation), and it contains five sections, namely (definition of objective interpretation, the emergence of objective interpretation, colours of objective interpretation, reasons for the emergence of objective interpretation, and the importance of objective interpretation). As for the second chapter, it was (the modernists' view of objective interpretation), and it includes three sections, namely (the opinions of scholars on the modernity of objective interpretation, modern studies of objective interpretation, Quranic topics, and applications of objective interpretation), then the conclusion of the research and a list of sources.

Innovation and Entrepreneurship of Professors in Public Universities: Case Study in Brazil

In the literature on academic entrepreneurship, the creation of academic spin-offs is one of the Knowledge and Technology Transfer (KTT) channels most studied. The use of different KTT channels and the creation of spin-offs can be a source of opportunity for the overflow of knowledge and innovation with wealth creation. Although with a broad spectrum, research on academic entrepreneurship still has gaps to be explored in the literature. In Brazil, there is a lack of studies that explain more specifically how the professor at the public university transfers knowledge and technology and undertakes entrepreneurial activities. The main motivations of the doctoral research presented in this article are the lack of studies concerning the trajectory of successful entrepreneurial professors and the exploration of the use of different KTT channels in academic entrepreneurship for wealth creation. The general goal of the research is to identify the strategies used during the innovation trajectory of entrepreneurial professors in Information Technology (IT), who converted knowledge and scientific assets into wealth. To meet this goal, an adapted retrospective roadmapping approach was used to collect data, to map and to analyze the life trajectory of innovation of six professors from three Brazilian Public Universities in the IT area. The results made it possible to understand how professors innovated, became entrepreneurs and transferred knowledge and technology. They mobilized 136 strategies using different channels (e.g., Entrepreneurs Training, Collaborative Research and Development Projects, Technology Residency, Academic Spin-offs Creation, Academic Consulting). The professors' strategies resulted in a value distribution, with considerable wealth (tangible and intangible). The results showed that although there is no pattern in the professors' trajectories of innovation and entrepreneurship, there are several strategies common to the cases. One of them was to train qualified personnel at the university, based on intensive research in knowledge seeking to solve real market problems.

Information Adoption Patterns and Online Knowledge Payment Behavior: The Moderating Role of Product Type

The development of online knowledge payment platforms in recent years has increased their respective market value by nurturing content resources and improving content ecology. Yet, the underlying factors of knowledge seekers’ payment behaviors and their information adoption mechanisms are poorly understood. Based on the information adoption model, this study develops a research model to examine the relationship between information adoption patterns and knowledge seekers’ payment behavior, and explore the moderating effect of product type on this relationship. To test the research model and hypotheses, we used a multi-analytic approach combining text and regression analysis on a sample of 4366 social Q&A data collected from Quora+ between August 2021 and August 2022. We further classified the product types into utilitarian and hedonic, and compared the differences in influence paths between product types. The results show that the completeness, vividness, and relevance of the product description have a significant positive impact on knowledge payment behavior. The reputation, experience, and integrity of the knowledge provider have a positive impact on knowledge payment behavior. Compared to utilitarian knowledge products, the payment behavior for hedonic products is more related to the reputation and experience of the knowledge provider. This study provides insights into the factors that influence online knowledge payment behavior and practical guidance for the development of online knowledge payment services and platforms.

PENGEMBANGAN MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN BERBASIS WEBSITE PADA MATA PELAJARAN PAI DAN BUDI PEKERTI KELAS X DI SMK NEGERI 1 TEGALSARI

The purpose of this study is to explain the development and feasibility of website-based learning media in The Subject of Pai And Ethics Class X at SMK Negeri 1 Tegalsari. This research uses the research and development (R&D) method using the Brog And Gall development model which has 10 development steps but the researcher only limits the available steps to 9 steps, namely: 1) Potential and Problems, 2) Needs Analysis, 3) Product Design, 4) Design Validation, 5) Product Revision, 6) Product Trials, 7) Product Revision. The research data were obtained by non-test techniques. The non-test instruments used are interviews, observations, questionnaires for subject teachers and students, validity test questionnaires for media experts and material experts as well as documentation in the form of photos and curriculum documents. The results of this study show that website-based learning media products are suitable for use in class X of SMK Negeri 1 Tegalsari which refers to the results of feasibility tests according to experts, namely media experts by 88%, material experts by 83% and users (Teachers) by 81%. It is also stated that it is feasible to get from the results of individual / student trials, namely 84%, small group trials, namely 83.5% and field trials of 84%, so it can be interpreted that website-based learning media is suitable for use in learning PAI and Ethics chapters enjoying seeking knowledge and the beauty of sharing class X knowledge at SMK Negeri 1 Tegalsari in 2021/2022.

Grammar and Poetic Pradeya of Bhoja

Bhoja is the foremost among the Indian knowledge seekers. Bhoj has composed many texts on many subjects. From various texts, commentaries, catalogs and inscriptions of handwritten texts of various scholars, the denominations of many books of Bhoj are available. In which many books are published, but many texts are unavailable. 1. Saraswatikanthabharan (Grammar) 2. Prakrit Grammar. The Saraswatikanthabharan grammar of Bhoja is Ashtadhyayi on the ideal of Panini's Ashtadhyayi. This book, which covers the changes and amendments after Panini, is more accessible and complete than Panini, so many history critics believe that. Regarding Prakrit grammar, experts believe that it is the book of King Bhojdev of Kutch. The name of this is also the food grammar. It is mentioned in verse 4/75 of Chandraprabhusuri's book Prabhakacharitam.

AN INSIGHT INTO THE DIFFERENCES OF PSYCHOLOGICAL DISPARATE MOTIVATIONS BETWEEN HACKERS AND CRACKERS

This paper considers two different classes of computer hackers, with a special emphasis on disparate motivations of hacking. Hackers’ psychology widely discussed in the media is almost entirely unexplored by psychologists. In this study, hackers’ and crackers’ motivation is investigated, using the study of values scale. One hundred and fourteen participants completed our online research instrument. The study of values and demographic data were questioned. Participants were categorized as hackers and crackers through their responses on two items questioned in the demographic datasheet. Results indicated that hackers were found higher on the motivations of seeking knowledge, aesthetic sense, social interactions, and mysticism while crackers were found more motivated due to their economical and political interests. Findings suggested that hackers hack for the thrill of learning and gathering information to gain intelligence. Hackers hack to make society a better place to live. Compared to hackers, crackers are incapable of normal social interactions, and their hacking is based on the motivations of getting money and power.

No Scholars in the West

Seeking knowledge from scholars is an imperative for Salafis. But what does that mean for Salafis in the West who deny that there are any scholars among them? Since the 1960s, Western Muslims have been taking advantage of the scholarships available for Islamic studies programs in Saudi Arabia. A steady stream of students has gone, studied with leading Salafi scholars in the heart of the Muslim world, and returned home to promulgate Salafi teachings and lead their communities. Why do none of these former students count as scholars? If they are not scholars, then what is the nature of their role as local leaders? To answer these questions, this study looks closely at the predominantly African American Salafi affiliate community in Philadelphia. The arguments here contribute to a growing body of literature on global Salafism and specifically studies of so-called Madkhalī communities tied to the Islamic University of Medina. Primary fieldwork from 2010 to 2013 and interviews as recent as 2021 inform the conclusion that this community’s pattern of knowledge transmission perpetuates and even celebrates the continual reliance of Philadelphia’s Salafis on scholars abroad.
