Study of Waste Management Flats Case Study: Simple Rent Flats (Rusunawa) Kayu Putih

The absence of the implementation of policies regarding waste management for flats for residents and managers is one of the causes of the waste management of flats not running in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations. While the implementation of vertical housing such as flats will continue to be developed by the government in an effort to increase land use in urban areas. This research aims to examine the conditions of waste management in the area of the Kayu Putih Flats, Medan. The research was carried out with a descriptive qualitative approach, namely by measuring waste generation and observing the pattern of waste management applied by the residents and managers of the flats. Rice cultivar selection in an agroforestry system through GGE-biplot and EBLUP

Biodiversitas 22: 4750-4757. Genotype-by-environment interaction (GEI) causes differences in the productivity of rice cultivars in agroforestry systems. For this reason, the stability of rice cultivars is an important aspect that should be considered before a cultivar is recommended to farmers. Superior genotypes and ideal environments are commonly identified using two statistical models, namely, genotype–genotype-by-environment biplot (GGE-biplot) and empirical best linear unbiased prediction (EBLUP). In this study, 15 rice cultivars were evaluated in terms of their productivity and stability in three soil types (Lithic Haplusterts, Ustic Epiaquerts, and Vertic Haplustalfs) in an agroforestry system with kayu putih (Melaleuca cajuputi) in 2019 and 2020 at the Menggoran Forest Resort, Playen Forest Section, Yogyakarta Forest Management District, Indonesia. The cultivars were treated as random effects to select and obtain the EBLUP of the best cultivars in each soil type. The EBLUP revealed that Situ Patenggang showed the highest yields of 4.887 and 5.456 tons ha?1 in Lithic Haplusterts and Vertic Haplustalfs, respectively. GM 28 exhibited the highest yield of 6.492 tons ha?1 in Ustic Epiaquerts. Ciherang, GM 2, GM 8, GM 11, GM 28, Inpari 6 Jete, Inpari 33, IR-64, and Way Apo Buru were classified as stable and fairly stable cultivars, whereas the other cultivars were unstable. Therefore, rice cultivars with high yields in specific soil types should be selected.

CANAL CAPACITY IN AREA IKIP AND PULOMAS

IKIP’s Pump House is located on Inspeksi Kali Sunter street, North Jakarta, geographically located between 6°9'45.55" South Latitude and 106°52'53.8” East Longitude. While Pulomas’s Pump House is located on Perintis Kemerdekaan street North Jakarta, geographically located between 6 °10'0.71'' latitude and 106°52'51.66” east longitude. On the arterial road beside Ria-rio Reservoir to Kayu Putih street, floods often occur during the rainy season. That flood is caused by several factors, one of which is the drainage canal that can’t function properly. At several points of water canal that will lead to Pulomas’s Pump House there’s a lot of plastic waste and people's belongings that cause narrowing of canal. The high sedimentation in the form of mud also causes water capacity that can be accommodated by canal is not optimal. From the above conditions, it is necessary to do an analysis pump capacity to determine whether IKIP’s Pump House and Pulomas’s Pump House can still accommodate water discharge based on 15 years of rainfall lastly, and it is known that there are three canals in the Pulomas pump house that cannot accommodate the water discharge so that flooding occurs

This study aimed to determine the types of medicinal plants in the forest area of the Borneo Tarakan University and produce a product in the form booklet that are suitable for use. The type of this research was Research and Development (R D) which uses the development model of Borg and Gall (1983) and is only carried out up to the fifth stage. The results showed that 15 species were found, Kayu putih (Melaleuca leucadendron L.), Paku picisan (Drymoglossum pilloselloides L.), Karamunting (Melastoma malabathricum L.), Resam (Dicronopteris linearis L.), Pandan (Pandanus Sp.), Paku kawat (Lycopodium cernuum L. ), Congkok (Molineria capitulate L.), Jintan (Plectranthus amboinicus L.), Kantong semar (Nepenthes ampullaria), Anggrek tanah (Bromheadia finlaysoniana L.), Hiring-Hiring (Scleria sumatrensis Retz.), Lengkuas (Alpinia galangal L.), Paku tanduk (Platycerium bifurcatum), Paku sarang burung (Asplenium nidus L.), Paku kasak (Blechnum orientale L.). The result of research development in the form booklet were resulted scores validation from that are 86.6% (very feasible), material experts at 80% (feasible), practitioners at 100% (very feasible) and the percentage of student response tests at 94.5% (very interesting. The concluded of this research is the medicinal booklet with medicinal properties in the Borneo Forest Tarakan Research Forest Area is feasible to be used as teaching material for grade X SMK students.Keywords: Medicinal Plants, Booklet

Physiological and Yield of Soybean Under Kayu Putih (Melaleuca cajuputi subsp. cumingiana) Stands with N, P, and K Fertilization on Lithic Haplustert

<p>Fertilization of N, P, and K on soybean planted under <em>K</em><em>ayu Putih</em> stands to serve to increase soil nutrients. <em>Lithic Haplustert</em> is a subgroup of Vertisol with a relatively low fertility and organic matter with a heavy clay texture. This research aims to determine the response of soybean to the application of N, P, and K fertilizers on the <em>Lithic Haplustert</em> in physiology and yield. This research was conducted from February to May 2015 in the Srikoyo hamlet, Menggoran village, Playen district, Gunungkidul regency, Yogyakarta. The experimental design is split-split plot with three levels of fertilization of N (0, 25, 50 kg urea ha<sup>-1</sup>), P (0, 150, 300 kg SP-36 ha<sup>-1</sup>), and K (0, 75, 150 kg KCl ha<sup>-1</sup>). The results showed that the application of 50 kg urea ha<sup>-1 </sup>and 300 kg SP-36 ha<sup>-1</sup> can increase the leaf area and photosynthesis rate. Dosage 150 kg KCl ha<sup>-1</sup> fertilizer increased the concentration of N, P, and K in the plant tissues significantly.</p>

Assessment of soil quality parameters and yield of rice cultivars in Melaleuca cajuputi agroforestry system

Interactions between rice cultivars and soil quality parameters rises problems in the attempt of increasing rice yield. The objective of this study was to assess soil quality parameters that affect the yield of 15 rice cultivars in an agroforestry system of ‘kayu putih’ (Melaleuca cajuputi) situated in Menggoran forest, Yogyakarta, Indonesia which have three soil types namely Lithic Haplusterts, Ustic Epiaquerts, and Vertic Haplustalfs. The observation was conducted on 21 soil quality parameters and yield of rice cultivars. The data were analyzed by using ANOVA, factor analysis, and stepwise regression. The highest yield of rice per hectare was attained by GM 28 in Ustic Epiaquerts with 6.493 tons ha-1, while Situ Patenggang and GM 28 in Vertic Haplustalfs as high as5.549 and 5.401 tons ha-1, respectively, and Situ Patenggang in Lithic Haplusterts as high as 4.893 tons ha-1. Soil quality parameters that had significant effect on the yield of rice cultivars were Clay, SMC, pH, SOC, N, Mg, Fe, Fg, and Bae. We suggested that rice cultivars recommendations for Lithic Haplusterts, Ustic Epiaquerts, and Vertic Haplustalfs are Situ Patenggang, Situ Patenggang or GM 28, and GM 28, respectively, in addition to fertilization based on limiting factors of each rice cultivars.

Influence of siam weed compost on soybean varieties in an agroforestry system with kayu putih (Melaleuca cajuputi)

R.M.King & H.Rob.) has grown wild in many kayu putih (Melaleuca cajuputi Powell) forest can be utilized as compost for complementary of inorganic fertilizers in annual crops. The experiment was conducted during November-February 2020 in Menggoran Forest Resort, Playen Forest Section, Yogyakarta Forest Management District, Indonesia. The experiment was arranged in a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replications. The first factor was soybean varieties consisted of Anjasmoro, Dering I, and Grobogan. The second factor was siam weed compost (SWC) application consisted of 0, 5, 10, and 15 tons ha-1. The data were analyzed using Two-way ANOVA, ANCOVA, and stepwise regression. The SWC application of 10 tons ha-1 showed the highest yield of Anjasmoro, Dering I, and Grobogan were 1.42, 1.56, and 1.51 tons ha-1, respectively, or increased by118.46%, 102.60%, and 112.68%, respectively, compared to the without SWC application. The optimum dosage of SWC application for Anjasmoro, Dering I, and Grobogan were 13.05, 14.35, and 14.93 tons ha-1, respectively, with a maximum yield of 1.45, 1.59, and 1.52 tons ha-1, respectively. Soil quality and physiological parameters that had a significant influenced on the production of soybean varieties in agroforestry systems with M. cajuputi were SOM, K, LPR, TC, and PRO.

Influence of furrow with organic material and Chromolaena odorata compost on upland rice productivity in an agroforestry system with Melaleuca cajuputi

The main problems of rainfed areas for upland rice cultivation in agroforestry system with Melaleuca cajuputi (kayu putih) were limited to soil moisture availability and low fertility of the soil. The experiment was conducted from March to August 2018 in Menggoran Forest Resort, Playen Forest Section, Yogyakarta Forest Management District, Indonesia. The experiment was arranged in strip plot design with three blocks as replications. The vertical plots were rainwater harvesting technique (RHT) consist of without furrow (WF) and furrow with organic material (FWOM). The horizontal plot was Chromolaena odorata (siam weed) compost (SWC) applications consist of 0, 5, 10, and 15 tons ha-1. The data analyzed by ANCOVA, ANOVA, SEM, and stepwise regression. The results of the study informed that the FWOM with SWC of 10 tons ha-1 showed the highest yield of upland rice per hectare was 2.97 tons ha-1 and yields increased by 91.75% compared to the WF without SWC. The environmental variables that significantly affected the yield of upland rice were WUE and Tsoil. The growth variables that significantly affected the yield of upland rice were SDW, RSA, and RDW. The yield component that had a very significant affected on the yield of upland rice was NP.

Physiological Response of Upland Rice Varieties to Furrow with Organic Matter on Agroforestry System with Kayu Putih (Melaleuca leucadendra L.)

<p>Drought is one of the major limitations in dry land cultivation. Drought affects plant physiology processes such as photosynthesis, respiration, mineral and water transportation, and transpiraton, briefly called drought stress. Drought stress can be avoided by managing environment. Furrow containing organic matter for rain fed rice has been the subject of many studies, with special emphasis on soil moisture. This research is aimed to know the effects of the furrow containing organic matter on physiological responses of several upland rice varieties on agroforestry system based on <em>k</em><em>ayu putih</em> (cajuput). The experimental design applied the strip plot design. The vertical factor is the furrow system of treatment consisting of 2 levels i.e. without furrow + without organic matter and furrow + organic matters. The horizontal factors are the upland rice varieties consisting of 3 varieties i.e. Situ Patenggang, Situ Bagendit and Ciherang. The collected data were analyzed by Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) applying a level of significance α = 5%. Whenever significant differences among treatments were found, further analysis was carried out by applying the Tukey's HSD (Honestly Significant Difference) test α = 5% levels. The result shows that drought affects plant physiology and can be avoided by using furrow containing organic matters. Situ Patenggang with furrow containing organic matters has the higher physiology capability, it had photosynthesis 387.18 µmol CO<sub>2 </sub>per clump s<sup>-1</sup>, transpiration 3038.50 mg per clump per secondand CO<sub>2 </sub>721.11 mol CO<sub>2</sub> clump per mol. There different plant requirements for Cu between varieties.</p>

GGE-Biplot Analysis for Soybean Varieties Suitability in an Agroforestry System based on Kayu Putih Stands

<p>The existence of genotype and environment (G x E) interaction causes difficulty in selecting suitable varieties of soybean in an agroforestry system based on <em>kayu putih</em> stands. This study aimed to determine the suitability of adaptive, stable and high yield soybean varieties in an agroforestry system based on <em>kayu putih</em> stands by using GGE-Biplot analysis. The experiment was conducted from May to August 2018 at Menggoran Forest Resort, Playen District, Gunung Kidul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The experiment was conducted using a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with five block as replications. The first factor was soil type in Menggoran Forest Resort, consisting of Lithic Haplusterts, Vertic Haplustalfs and Ustic Endoaquerts. The second factor was soybean varieties, consisting of Anjasmoro, Argomulyo, Burangrang, Dering I, Devon I, Gema and Grobogan. The observation was carried out on seed dry weight of soybean per hectare. The data were analyzed using Combined Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) with α = 5% and GGE-Biplot. Dering I was the most suitable varieties in an agroforestry system based on <em>kayu putih</em> stands and showed the mean of highest yield of 1.22 tons ha<sup>-1</sup>.</p>

The Effect of Furrow Containing Organic Matters to Upland Rice (Oryza sativa L.) Growth and Yield in Agroforestry System with Kayu Putih

This research was aimed to know the effects of the furrow system containing organic matter for rainfed, to growth and yield of several varieties on agroforestry system with Kayu Putih. The research was conducted in Petak 83 Resort Pengelolaan Hutan (RPH) Menggoran, Bagian Daerah Hutan (BDH) Playen, Kesatuan Pengelolaan Hutan (KPH) Yogyakarta from March to August of 2018. The experimental design applied the strip plot design. The vertical factor was the furrow system of treatment consisting of 2 levels i.e, without furrow + without organic matter and furrow + organic matters. The horizontal factors were the varieties of upland rice consisting of 3 varieties i.e. Situ Patenggang, Situ Bagendit, and Ciherang. Then the collected data were analyzed by analysis of variance (Anova) applying a level of significance α = 5%. Whenever the significant differences among treatments were found, further analysis was carried out by applying the Tukey's HSD (Honestly Significant Difference) at 5% levels. The result showed that furrow containing organic matter was able to support plant growth in dry land. Situ Patenggang has highest adaptation to growth dan produce in drought stress. The combination of furrow containing organic matter with Situ Patenggang showed the best result in CGR, total root length, total chlorophyll content, number of panicle, number of spikelet per panicle, 1000 grain weight and estimated productivity.

The Effect of Various Weedy Periods on Growth and Yield of Soybean in Agroforestry System with Kayu Putih

This study was aimed to detect the effect of various treatment periods of weedy on the growth and yield of soybean; and to determine the most appropriate time periods of weedy for soybean in agroforestry systems with kayu putih. The experiment had been conducted in Menggoran, BDH Playen, KPH Yogyakarta, Gunungkidul Regency, Special Province of Yogyakarta from February 28 to May 9, 2015. Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three blocks as replications waas applied in this experiment. The treatments were weedy periods on 0, 14, 28, 42, and 56 days after planting (dap) and weed-free period on 0, 14, 28, 42, and 56 dap. The results showed that there were significant differences in the soil moisture content, root surface area, root length, chlorophyll content, root dry weight, shoot dry weight, dry weight of soybean seeds, and weed dry weight. The highest seed weight per hectare was found in weed-free until harvest treatment but it was not significantly different from weedy periods after 56 dap and weed-free after 14 dap. The effective periods of weedy time for soybean in agroforestry systems with kayu putih began at 28 dap - 56 dap.

The Optimum Dose of Nitrogen, Phosporus, and Potassium to Improve Soybean (Glycine max (L) Merr) Productivity on Kayu Putih (Melaleuca cajuputi) Stands

It was necessary to obtain optimum dose of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium obtained through fertilisation in order to improve productivity in the intercropping. Kayu putih tree was cultivated in Yogyakarta for oil production, and the inter-row was designed for intercropping plants, including soybean. The objective of present study was to obtain optimum dose of urea, SP-36, and KCl for soybean intercropped with kayu putih. The experiment was conducted in Menggoran Forest Resort (RPH Menggoran), Playen Forest Section (BDH Playen), Yogyakarta Forest Management District (KPH Yogyakarta) using split-split plot design. The main plot was urea, subplot was SP-36, and sub-subplot was KCl. Fertilisation consisted of three levels (0, 25, 50 kg ha-1 of urea), (0, 150, 300 kg ha-1 of SP-36) and (0, 75, 150 kg ha-1 of KCl). The results showed that application of 50 kg ha-1 urea, 300 kg. ha-1 SP-36, and 150 kg. ha-1 KCl increased N, P, K uptake per hectare as much as 16.23 kg N ha-1, 86.27 kg P ha-1, 40.02 kg K ha-1, respectively. There was positive interaction between urea and SP-36, SP-36 and KCl at leaf area, photosynthetic rate, number of seeds per plants, seed weight per plants, and seed weight per hectare. Under kayu putih intercropping, optimum dosage of urea, SP-36 and KCl were 0, 298.03 and 87.12 kg ha-1, respectively. These combination enabled to produce maximum seed weight of 2.01 tons. ha-1.

Chemical Compositions, Antioxidant and Antifungal Activities of Melaleuca leucadendron Linn. Leaf Oils from Indonesia

Melaleuca leucadendron Linn. Oil, also known as Kayu Putih oil, is one of the most important non-timber forest products in Indonesia. This oil has diverse bioactivity, such as insecticidal, antifungal, antibacterial, and antiviral. This study elucidated the chemical compositions and biological activities of M. leucadendron leaf oils from Java, Indonesia in order to evaluate their potency and improve their utilization. Leaf samples of M. leucadendron in this study were collected from plantation forest in Gunung Kidul-Yogyakarta (L1), Gundih-Central Java (L2) and Sukun-East Java (L3), Indonesia in different plant ages of 5 (A1), 10 (A2) and 15 (A3) years-old. Oil samples were distillated by water-steam distillation. Identification of chemical composition of these essential oils was conducted by GC-MS analysis. The in vitro antioxidant activity was examined by 1,1- diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) method and antifungal activity was examined using a method by Wang et al. (2005) with slight modification against pathogenic fungi of Fusarium oxysporum, Thanatephorus cucumeris and Rhizopus oryzae. GC-MS investigations of M. leucadendron leaf oils showed 26 compounds have been identified. The result showed 1,8-cineole (44.76% to 60.19%) was the major compound in these oil, followed by α-terpineol (5.93% to 12.45%), D(+)-limonene (4.45% to 8.85%), and β-caryophyllene (3.78% to 7.64%), respectively. The in vitro DPPH assay showed anti-oxidative (IC50: 7.21 to 9.46 mg/ml) properties of M. leucadendron leaf oils. This essential oils also revealed inhibitory effect against F. oxysporum (IC50: 0.01 mg/ml to 0.11 mg/ml), T. cucumeris (IC50: 0.52 mg/ml to 4.20 mg/ml) and R. oryzae (IC50:1.35 mg/ml to 7.61 mg/ml). The antifungal activity showed M. leucadendron leaf oils were effective against fungi of F. oxysporum and T. cucumeris; but it showed less antifungal activity against R. oryzae. This study indicated that the M. leucadendron leaf oils can be used as antioxidant and sustainable eco-friendly bio fungicides.

Morpho-Physiological Characters and Soybean Productivity on Alfisol and Vertisol under Intercropping with Kayu Putih (Melaleuca cajuputi)

Intercropping kayu putih ( Melaleuca cajuputi ) has more advantage than other tree crops, such as teak, pine or acacia due to the beneficial intercropping season length. Soybean was intercropped with kayu putih because soybean has higher commercial value than other field crops. The survey-based research was conducted during March until May, 2014 in Menggoran Forest Resort, Playen Forest Section, Yogyakarta Forest Management District. Stratified random sampling method was used during the research by stratifying the types of soil stratification (alfisol and vertisol), rainfall and declivity then was made into 7 land mapping unit (LMU) with map overlay technique. Agronomic characters of soybean were observed on 12 weeks after planting (wap) and the physiological data were observed during the maximum vegetative phase (8 wap). Agronomic and physiological characters of soybean in each LMU were grouped and statistically tested with analysis of variance (ANOVA) then continued with orthogonal contrasts (alpha 5%). The results showed that some characters of soybean planted in alfisol had higher value than in vertisol, especially on leaf area, photosynthetic rate, root and canopy weight, 100 grain weight and grain weight per plant. The agronomic and physiological characters of soybean which had significant effects on yield in the intercropping with kayu putih system were stomatal density, stomatal conductivity, photosynthetic rate, and leaf area. Soybean intercropped with kayu putih produced 1.007 tons/ha in alfisol and 0.996 tons/ha in vertisol. Soybean development in intercropping system of kayu putih can be conducted by using soybean varieties superior effort.
