Comparison of Growth Performance and Carcass Quality of KUB Kampung Chicken, Merawang Chicken, and In-ovo Feeding Kampung Chicken

ABSTRACT. This study aims to determine the growth performance and carcass quality of three different Kampung chicken species (KUB Kampung Chicken, Merawang Chicken, and In-ovo Feeding Kampung Chicken). This research was conducted at the CV. Bittara Wanua in Soppeng Regency. The study followed a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three treatments and five replication plots. Each replication plot contained 5 chickens. The treatments namely: P1 uses KUB chicken, P2 uses Merawang chicken, and P3 uses Kampung chicken from in-ovo feeding. The parameters observed were growth performance including body weight gain, feed consumption, and feed conversion, while carcass quality includes carcass percentage, breast percentage, upper thigh percentage, lower thigh percentage, wing percentage, and back percentage. The results showed that treatment had a significant effect (P<0.05) on body weight gain, feed conversion, breast percentage, lower thigh percentage, and back percentage. Still, they had no effect (P>0.05) on feed consumption, carcass percentage, upper thigh percentage, and wing percentage. It could be concluded that KUB chicken has the best growth performance and carcass quality because it has fast growth, low feed conversion, and a high percentage of carcass parts of the breast compared to other types of native chickens.

Penerapan Limbah Nenas Fermentasi Untuk Pengembangan Ayam Kampung Di Desa Tangkit Baru Kabupaten Muaro Jambi

The objectives of this community service (PPM) are as follows: (1) the application of pineapple waste fermentation technology with Trichoderma viride fungi for kampung chicken feed, (2) improving the knowledge and skills of poultry farmers in formulating cost-effective rations, (3) enhancing the knowledge and skills of poultry farmers in more efficient management and better production. The implementation method of community service involves active interaction between the project team and the target groups, which include 40 community members and farmer groups. The key stages in the implementation of the PPM are as follows: (1) dissemination and training, (2) active participation of farmer group members with the establishment of a Technical Consultation Service (TCS) forum for consultation and dialogue between the project team and poultry farmers, (3) hands-on practice in kampung chicken production management and pineapple waste processing using fermentation technology, (4) monitoring and evaluation (Monev) of the community service program in the farmer groups of Tangkit Baru, Muaro Jambi. The results of the community service activities are as follows: (1) the dissemination and training sessions have successfully increased the knowledge and skills of the participants, with the dissemination being rated as good, (2) the application of fermented pineapple waste as kampung chicken feed has been well-received by the farmer groups and the community in Tangkit Baru, Muaro Jambi (3) the implementation of this PPM program has proven highly beneficial for poultry farmers and implementing institutions, as it serves as a platform for the transfer of knowledge and technology, particularly in the traditional and non-business-oriented kampung chicken farming practices, thus optimizing the outcomes of these practices and facilitating the development of kampung chicken farming businesses.

Strategi Pengembangan Usaha Soto Ayam Asli Lamongan (Studi Kasus : Soto Ayam Lamongan Cak Kulin di Kecamatan Kaliwates Kabupaten Jember)

Soto Ayam Lamongan is a typical food from the city of Lamongan, East Java which has now spread to various regions in Indonesia, one of which is in the city of Jember. The determination of the research area was carried out purposively. The sampling method is purposive sampling using 6 respondents (1 business owner, 3 consumers who have culinary knowledge, and 2 similar but advanced or developing entrepreneurs). The analytical tools used are SWOT analysis and Grand Strategy. Based on the results of research from Cak Kulin Lamongan's Original Kampung Chicken Soto business, it is necessary to have a development strategy (S-O) and from the grand strategy diagram it shows that the Lamongan Original Kampung Chicken Soto business is at point (0.311 : 0.407 ) in quadrant I which shows a profitable position by continuing to carry out an aggressive development strategy, can increase businesses that use strategy (S-O) as a strength to take existing opportunities.

Genetic Polymorphism of g.3768T>C loci of NRAMP1 gene in Kampung and KUB Chickens

Natural Resistance-Associated Macrophage Protein 1 (NRAMP1) is a gene that regulates the body's resistance to illness. The genetic diversity of Kampung and KUB chicken population in Lombok island West Nusa Tenggara province was investigated based on g.3768T>C loci of NRAMP1 gene. Experimental animal consisted of 105 KUB and 67 Kampung chickens. The NRAMP1 gene polymorphisms in both population were identified using PCR-RFLP method. Genetic parameters of g.3768T>C loci were calculated using PopGene32. In this study, the locus g.3768T>C of the NRAMP1gene found three genotypes (TT, CT, CC) with the frequency of the C allele was higher than the T allele, respectively 0.709 and 0.210 in Kampung chicken, and 0.738 and 0.262 in KUB chicken. The mean value of observed heterozygosity (Ho) and expected heterozygosity (He) of g.3768T>C loci in both populations revealed low to medium genetic diversity, with the values 0.222 and 0.400, respectively. The mean value of observed heterozygosity is lower than expected, indicating that the population is heading towards a heterozygosity deficit and proving that the two populations are not in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium. The mean PIC value of the NRAMP1 gene (g.3768T>C) in both chicken population was 0.319 and classified as fairly informative (0.50 > PIC > 0.25). Meanwhile, the value of the genetic differentiation index (Fst) for Kampung and KUB chicken population were 0.385 and 0.433, indicating that there is differentiation between two chicken population at the observed loci.

Kajian Kualitas Nutrisi Pakan Terhadap Produktivitas Ayam Kampung Super di Kabupaten Lombok Timur

The aim of the study was to determine the type and nutritional quality of feed and its effect on the productivity of super kampung chickens in The East Lombok Regency. This research was conducted by collecting data from ten farmers with a minimum population of a thousand super kampung chickens in East Lombok. Parameters observed were the type of feed used, the nutritional content of the feed, feed consumption, harvest weight, and feed conversion. The data obtained are tabulated and then discussed descriptively by comparing the nutritional content, feed consumption, harvest weight, and feed conversion obtained with the Indonesian Nasional Standard (SNI). Based on the results of the research conducted all breeders who were the target of the study used complete feed. There are 6 types of complete feed that are used and come from 4 different companies, namely GM-PS, GM-1EJ, SB11, HDBR1-168LCR, 811K NEWHOPE, HDBR 161 A. The feed consumption obtained ranges from 1.5-3.15 kg with an average of 2.26 kg/head/period. Harvested weight ranged from 0.84-0.91 kg/head with an average of 0.87 kg/head with an FCR value of 2.68. The conclusion of this study is that in general the nutritional content and quality of the feed used have met the standards based on SNI, but not followed by productivity that meets the standards.

Reproductive Organ Profile of Pullet Phase Kampung Chicken After L-Isoleucine Supplementation in Feed

The aim of this research was to determine the effect of supplementation of L-isoleucine in feed on the reproductive organ profile of Native chickens at the pullet phase. This research was carried out from April to July 2023 at Sasi Village, Kota Kefamenanu Sub-District, North Central Timor Regency. A total of 100 Native chickens aged 6 weeks with an average weight of 400 g were used in this study. The research method used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 5 replications. Each replication consisted of 4 Native chickens. The treatments given were T0 (feed without L-isoleucine), T1 (T0 + 0.05% L-isoleucine), T2 (T0 + 0.15% L-isoleucine), T3 (T0 + 0.25% L-isoleucine), and T4 (T0 + 0.35% L-isoleucine). The variables observed were the weight of the ovaries, the distance between the 2 pubic bones, the distance between the pubic bone and the sternum, testicular weight and testicular volume. The data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance and Duncan's test. The results showed that the ovarian weight for T0, T1, T2, and T3 and T4 were 1.14 ± 0.18; 1.43±0.12; 2.26±0.53; 1.76 ± 0.34 and 1.33 ± 0.27 g/head, respectively. The distance between the 2 pubic bones were 21.04 ± 0.49; 22.70±0.61; 25.40±0.82; 23.90 ± 0.46 and 22.08 ± 0.63 mm/head, respectively. The distance between the pubic bone and the sternum were 31.82 ± 1.93; 33.60±1.10; 37.04±2.36; 33.76 ± 1.27 and 31.56 ± 0.93 mm/head, respectively. Testicular weight were 5.56 ± 0.42; 6.15±1.48; 7.58±0.47; 6.80 ± 0.43 and 6.16 ± 0.40 g/head, respectively. Testicular volume were 5.04 ± 0.55; 5.82±0.41; 7.14 ± 0.50; 6.58 ± 0.47 and 6.06 ± 0.28 mL/head, respectively. Statistical analysis showed that treatment had a significant effect on ovary weight, the distance between the 2 pubic bones, the distance between the pubic bone and the sternum, testicular weight and testicular volume in Kampung chickens (P<0.05). It was concluded that the use of 0.15% L-isoleucine in feed gave the best results on ovary weight, distance between 2 pubic bones, distance between pubic bone and breast bone, testicular weight and testicular volume in pullet phase Native chickens.

The Effect of Additional Tomato Extract in Diluting Sodium Citrate and Egg Yellow in Kampung Chicken on The Quality of Semen Cow Limousine

Undiluted sperm will reduce fertility, therefore dilution is performed to maintain the quality of spermatozoa during storage. Tomatoes contain carbohydrates, vitamin A, vitamin C, protein, and lycopene as antioxidants. Carbohydrates and antioxidants act as a source of energy to potentially prevent free radicals that can damage cells. This study aims to determine the effect of adding tomato juice in sodium citrate diluent and free-range chicken egg yolks to the semen quality of limousin cattle. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications. The treatment consisted of a solution of sodium citrate and egg yolk (P0), sodium citrate and egg yolk + 10% tomato extract (P1), sodium citrate and egg yolk + 20% tomato extract (P2), and egg yolk sodium citrate + 30% tomato extract. % (P3). Parameters observed were motility, viability and abnormalities of semen spermatozoa of Limousin cattle. Observations were made at 0, 24, 48, and 72 hours after cooling. The results showed that the addition of 10% tomato extract (P1) had a significant effect on the highest percentage of motility, namely 42.00 ± 2.73c for the 48th hour, the highest viability 62.10 ± 4.51c for the 72nd hour, and lowest abnormality 16.60 ± 1.81a until the 72nd hour. The addition of 10% tomato extract (P1) in sodium citrate diluent and egg yolk resulted in the best motility, viability, and abnormality percentage of Limousin cattle spermatozoa.

The Relationship Between Body Size and Bone Weight (Breast and Thigh) in Kampung Chicken (Gallusdomesticus) Results Third Generation Selection

The aim of this study is to identify the characteristics of body size and shape in kampung chickens, as well as the relationship between body size and meat weight. To achieve this, 200 kampung chicken DOC were directly observed using purposive sampling. Purposive sampling where the chickens were divided into 3 groups of body weight, namely high, medium and low.Body size was recorded at 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12 weeks of age, and the weight of flesh and bone at 12 weeks of age was analyzed using the ttest.The samples used to obtain the weight of meat and bones (breast and thighs) were 35 males and 23 females.The study used principal component analysis to identify body size and shape characteristics for males and females. Regression and correlation analysis were then conducted to determine the relationship and closeness between body size and the weight of flesh and bone.The results of the study showed that the body size and weight of flesh and bone in kampung male chickens aged 12 weeks were significantly higher

Phenotypic and Genotypic Antimicrobial Resistance Profile of Salmonella spp. Isolated from Kampung Chicken Carcasses

Kampung chicken meats have been widely consumed in Indonesia as well as broiler chicken. However, the extensive rearing allowed multidrug-resistant (MDR) bacteria exposure to kampung chicken, including through horizontal gene transfer. This study aimed to observe the correlation between the phenotypic and genotypic antimicrobial resistance profile of Salmonella spp. isolated from kampung chicken carcasses. Phenotypic antimicrobial resistance was evaluated by Kirby-Bauer's disk diffusion method, while the detection of drug resistance genes in seventeen isolates of Salmonella was carried out by PCR. All (17/17) isolates were susceptible to ampicillin and chloramphenicol. Most isolates of Salmonella were resistant to erythromycin (82%; 14/17), while the decreased susceptibility (intermediate category) most occurred in oxytetracycline (82%; 14/17). Salmonella Typhimurium showed a resistance pattern to more antimicrobial groups than S. Newport and S. Weltevreden. Several antimicrobial resistance genes (blaTEM, tetG, cmlA, gyrA) were present in all (17/17) isolates of Salmonella spp. Resistance to antimicrobial agents and the presence of resistance genes were not always related. This study could provide beneficial information regarding the transmission of antimicrobial resistance among Salmonella spp. from kampung chickens.

Pemberian Tepung Brangkasan Ubi Jalar Terfermentasi Terhadap Komposisi Fisik Karkas Ayam Kampung Super Umur 10 Minggu

Abstract
 The livestock sector plays a real role in national food security through the supply of animal protein, one of which is super village chickens. In increasing the productivity of livestock the most important is rations. Feed materials that need to be used as alternative feed materials include agricultural waste, one of which is sweet potato brangkasan (Ipomoea batatas). The purpose of this study was to find out the effect of giving sweet potato brangkasan flour to the variable physical composition of chicken villages until the age of 10 weeks. The experimental design used is a Complete RandomIzed Design (RAL) consisting of 5 treatments, namely: R0 (Ration without sweet potato brangkasan flour as a control), R1 (Ration contains 3% sweet potato brangkasan flour without fermentation), R2 (Rations contains 3% fermented sweet potato brangkasan flour), R3 (Ransum contains 6% fermented sweet potato brangkasan flour), R4 (Ration contains 9% fermented sweet potato brangkasan flour). Each treatment is repeated three times. The results showed that the addition of fermented and non-fermented sweet potato brangkasan flour did not have a noticeable effect (P>0.05) on the physical composition of the thigh carcass and the physical composition of the meat as well as on the skin and subcutaneous fat of the chicken breast super village, but a real effect (P<0.05) on the physical composition of the breastbone. The provision of 3% fermented sweet potato flour (R2) tends to be able to give the results of the physical composition of the chest and thigh carcass higher.

Pendugaan Bobot Badan Melalui Ukuran Shank pada Ayam Kampung yang Dipelihara Secara Tradisional di Manokwari

This study aims to find an estimator of body weight by means of shank length and shank circumference in adult Kampung chickens reared traditionally. A total of 173 adult Kampung chickens (79 males and 94 females), aged 1 year belonging to several breeders in Prafi District, Manokwari Regency, were used as material for this study. Best Subsets Regression analysis was used to find the best body weight estimation model for this research chicken. The results showed that shank length (PSJ) was the best estimator of body weight (BBJ) for adult male Kampung chickens through the formula: BBJ = 0.363 PSJ – 1.67, because it had the best accuracy rate (highest R2 and lowest C-p and s) compared to the formula others available. For adult female Kampung chickens, shank length (PSB) and shank circumference (LSB) are the best estimators of body weight (BBB) for adult female Kampung chickens using the formula: BBB = 0.205 PSB + 0.127 LSB - 0.864, because it has the best level of accuracy (R2 highest and C-p and lowest s) compared to other available formulas. These formulas are very well applied to Kampung chicken farms that are kept traditionally in an area in order to choose good male candidates and prospective brooders for that area.

Growth Performance of Native Hen at the Grower Phase (Aged 6-12 weeks) After Supplemented Arginine-Lysine in Low-Protein Fed

This study aims to determine the growth performance of female Native chickens at the grower phase (6-12 Weeks) after being given arginine-lysine in low protein feed. This research was carried out from May to August 2022 at the Kampung Chicken Housing, Sion Women's Farmer Group, Sasi Village, Kefamenanu. The material used is 80 Native chickens aged 6-12 weeks with an average body weight of 400 g. The research method used is a complete randomized design. Chickens were randomly placed for 5 treatments and 4 replications, each replication consisted of 4 bird. The treatment given was P0 (control feed + 0.60% arginine + 0.52% lysine + 18% CP); P1 (control feed + 0.70% arginine + 0.61% lysine + 17% CP); P2 (control feed + 0.80% arginine + 0.70% lysine + 16% CP); P3 (control feed + 0.90% arginine + 0.79% lysine +15% CP); P4 (control feed + 1.00% arginine + 0.88% lysine + 14% CP). Variables observed were body weight gain, feed intake and feed conversion ratio. Data analysis using variance analysis and Duncan test. The results showed that the average body weight gain at treatments P0, P1, P2, P3 and P4 were 71.67±3.75; 84.69±3.55; 105.63±3.71; 105.46±7.15; and 94.38±3.50 g/bird/week, respectively. Feed intake were 277.41±15.95; 324.98±13.20; 401.13±15.10; 397.19±30.00; and 363.30±12.06 g/bird/week. Feed conversion ratio were 3.87±0.02; 3.84±0.01; 3.80±0.02; 3.77±0.03; and 3.85±0.01. Analysis of variance showed that the treatment had a significant effect on body weight gain, feed intake and feed conversion ratio of female Native chickens at the grower phase (P<0.05). It was concluded that the use of the arginine-lysine increases body weight gain, feed intake and decreases feed conversion ratio of female Native chickens at the grower phase (6 – 12 weeks). The level of 0.80-0.90% arginine + 0.70-0.79% lysine can streamline the use of feed crude protein by 2-3% from 18% to 15-16% and provide maximum results on the performance of female Native chickens at the grower phase.

Interaction Between the Cage Floor and the Variation of Different Fur Colors the Behavior and Against Perfomans of Kampung Super Chickens (Gallus domesticus Sp)

The Super Kampung chicken has a non-uniform coat color, this is related to the genetics of its parents. Genetics has a relationship with aggressiveness and this must be supported by a supportive cage floor. This study aims to examine the effect of the interaction between variations in coat color and different types of cage floors. The experimental material used was 120 DOC which were maintained for 70 days. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with a 5x2 factorial pattern with 10 treatments, namely 5 coat colors (W) and 2 cage floors (L), the treatments were repeated 3 times so there were 40 experimental units. The results showed that there was an interaction between the color of the coat and the type of floor of the cage on the pecking order variable. Color variation had a very significant (P<0.01) effect on roaming behavior, but had no significant effect (P>0.05) on pecking order behavior, feed conversion and performance index. The cage floor treatment had no significant effect (P>0.05) on all variables. The conclusion of this research is genetic such as genes (SORCS2) will be related to the level of aggressiveness. So that there are interactions of these two factors to the intensity behavior of pecking and pecking orders.

Effect performance and percentage carcass kampung chicken given fermented dragon fruit peel (Hylocereus polyrhizus) on drinking water

This experiment was conducted to find performance and percentage carcass of kampung chicken was given fermented dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) peel on drinking water. This study was carried out 8 weeks at Mengesta village, Penebel district, Tabanan regency, Bali used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 5 replications each consisting of 4 kampung chickens. The treatments were drinking water without fermented dragon fruit peels (P0), drinking water with 2% fermented dragon fruit peels (P1), drinking water with 4% fermented dragon fruit peels (P2), and drinking water with 6% fermented dragon fruit peels (P3). The observed variables were performance and carcass. The results of study had a significant effect (P<0,05) on wing percentage not significantly different (P>0,05) on ration consumption, drinking water consumption, weight gain, weight final body feed conversion ratio, carcass percentage, chest percentage, thigh percentage, and back percentage. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that given fermented dragon fruit peel to drinking water at level 2% - 6% cannot increase performance dan percentage carcass of kampung chicken.

TEKNOLOGI PEMBUATAN RANSUM DAN INTRODUKSI AYAM KUB BAGI MASYARAKAT DI KELURAHAN KOTO LUA KECAMATAN PAUH KOTA PADANG

Balitbangtan Superior Kampung Chicken (KUB) is a superior native chicken due to selection from native chicken families for six generations conducted by the Indonesian Agency for Agricultural Research and Development. KUB chickens have faster growth compared to ordinary native chickens. This training program was conducted for the Koto Lua community, Pauh District, Padang City, West Sumatra. This activity aims to help the community by conducting training on making poultry rations using conventional feed ingredients. In addition, this activity also aims to introduce one of the potential local chickens producing meat and eggs, namely: KUB chicken. The methods used in this activity were counseling and discussion (conventional feed and KUB chickens), training (traditional preparation of ration), mentoring (KUB chicken rearing), and evaluation at the end of the activity. 100 KUB chickens are raised by the service team from 1-28 days (4 weeks); after that, the KUB chickens are given to 10 heads of families (10 chickens per head of family), provided they have raised chickens and have a chicken coop. This activity results in the community gaining knowledge about feed ingredients that can be used as poultry rations. Community-rearing chickens until 16 weeks of age achieve an average body weight of 1000–150 g/head. The conclusion from this activity is that the community is skilled in making rations and raising KUB chickens, with a survival rate of around 90%.

ANALISIS HUBUNGAN FAKTOR PERSONAL KONSUMEN TERHADAP KEPUTUSAN PEMBELIAN AYAM KAMPUNG DI KOTA PADANG

This study aims to look at the relationship between personal factors and purchasing decisions for Kampung chicken meat. Because the market is a place for the implementation of the demand and supply processes, it is able to provide products that are in accordance with buyer requests. This research was conducted in Padang city, West Sumatra, to be precise, at the Padang City Market, which is the central market of this area. The research was carried out in September 2022. The sampling technique used was the convenience sampling technique, and the number of samples was 100 people. The research instrument employed closed questionnaires with research variables such as age (X1), education (X2), family size (X3), income (X4), and purchasing decisions (Y). The Spearman rank test was used to analyze data using non-parametric statistical tests. Through the results of the study, it was found that only education had a close relationship with purchasing decisions. Other factors such as age, the number of family members, and income do not have a close relationship with purchasing decisions. Appearance of Kampong Chicken Production in Use Feed Protein and Energy are Different

Kampung chicken or Buras chicken is a type of local chicken that is widely known and kept by people in all corners of Indonesia. With the development of science and technology, the livestock sector has made a major contribution through genetic improvement to produce a new generation which later emerged as kampung chicken livestock. This study specifically analyzed the production performance of kampung chickens using different protein and energy feeds with a research duration of three months from October to December 2022. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments included: P0 = Feed + 21% protein and EM 3300 kcal, P1 = Feed + 20% protein and EM 3100 kcal, P2 = Feed + 19% protein and EM 2900 kcal, P3 = Feed + 18% protein and EM 2700 kcal , P4 = Feed + 17% protein and EM 2500 kcal. Effect of Carbohydrate Type and Phenotype on the Quality of Post-Thawing Frozen Semen of KUB Chicken

The superior Balitbangtan Kampung Chicken (KUB) chickens have different phenotypes. It was reported that the chicken phenotype was related to semen quality. This study aimed to determine the post-thawing characteristics and quality of KUB chicken semen with different phenotypes frozen in Ringer's lactate egg yolk (RLEY) diluent with the addition of fructose or glucose. Semen was collected using the massaging method from 20 KUB chickens with a single comb phenotype and black or dark brown feather color with a red feather neck (SCNR), green-black single comb with white feather neck collar (SCNW), pea comb and black feathers or dark brown fur with a red neck (PCNR), and a green-black pea comb with a white neck (PCNW). Semen from each chicken phenotype was divided into three parts or frozen in three types of diluents: RLEY, RLEY+fructose (RLEYF), and RLEY+glucose (RLEYG). The highest sperm motility was found in the diluent with the addition of glucose in the SCNR and PCNW phenotypes (P0.05). The highest sperm viability was shown in the RLEYG diluent in the PCNW phenotype (P0.05). The highest abnormality was found in the RLEY and RLEYF diluents in the SCNW, PCNR, and PCNW groups, whereas in the RLEYG group, it was only found in the PCNR group. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that the type of glucose and chicken phenotype influences the quality of post-thawing semen. The best is found in diluents with glucose attachments in the SCNR phenotype.
