Moving into the field of integration has been compared to the challenging but pioneering task of clearing away brush at the edge of a jungle. Building on the work of early leaders in the psychology-religion dialogue, it is suggested that in future issues of the Journal writers should work at clarifying our goals for integration, retaining our evangelical theology, sharpening our assumptions, focusing on the practical, evaluating emerging trends, sharpening the focus of each issue, and admitting the personal implications of integration.
