Career Preparation Program Model at The Sub Directorate of Career Development and Assessment (CDA) IPB University

Changes in the job map provide career challenges for college graduates. On the other hand, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology makes higher education performance assessments through the IKU PTN to see the absorption of graduates. This research uses quantitative data from the 2018-2023 annual CDA report. Analysis of research data using the SWOT method. Data is presented descriptively to obtain an overview of the implementation of student career preparation programs. For 5 years, CDA IPB has held various career preparation programs, namely membership services, career service information system, on-campus recruitment & publication of job vacancy information, career training & industrial insight, career consultation, job fair, career enrichment, career buddy, stadium general for graduation, internship, career faculties roadshow, career studio, and career preparation in multinational companies. Based on the results of the analysis carried out using the SWOT method, it can be concluded that the CDA programs have been running effectively with several parameters increasing the number of program users, the distribution of work status, as well as testimonials from graduates who have participated in the CDA programs.

Analysis of Instruments for Implementing Intelligent Job Matching Models

Vocational high schools in Indonesia face challenges in producing graduates who meet the needs of the job market. The link and match policy along with the Job Matching system are proposed to enhance curriculum relevance to the workforce. The intelligent job matching model, which integrates machine learning technology, is expected to provide job recommendations aligned with graduates' competencies. Data analysis techniques used include qualitative and quantitative statistical analysis, encompassing Validity Analysis, Practicality Analysis, and Effectiveness Analysis. The intelligent job matching model has proven effective in assisting in matching vocational high school students' competencies with workforce demands in the industry. In the 2023 job fair, the success ratio of students invited for interviews until the employment process reached 53.13%, exceeding the Ministry of education and culture's target of 40%. This indicates that the model can provide job recommendations accurately enough, aiding in improving the direct employment rate of vocational high school students. Research indicates that the intelligent job matching model is effective in facilitating students' transition to the workforce. The model has been tested for validity, practicality, and effectiveness in enhancing students' employability and strengthening the relationship between education and industry.

The Occupational Information Network (O*Net) Content Model Guna Menumbuhkan Career Construction

<em>The objective of the research is to test the effectiveness of The Occupational Information Network (O*Net) Content Model to Develop Career Construction for Teachers in implementing guidance and counseling services in schools. The research method is experimental with single group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects were 30 of Special Job Fair Teachers and 30 of Guidance and Counseling Teachers in Boyolali Regency. The instrument used is the career construction scale. The data analysis technique uses a different test (paired sample t-test). Research activities include in service training and on the job training. The research results showed an increase in scores from the initial measurement (pretest) of teacher competency mastery in fostering career construction with the final measurement (posttest) of 32.509 with a significance value [2-tail] of 0.000. These results show the effectiveness of The Occupational Information Network (O*Net) Content Model to Grow Career Construction through the extraordinary commitment, hard work and desire to learn of Guidance and Counseling Teachers. The hope is that they will be able to carry out experiential learning in their respective schools so as to create many best practices that can be referred to by other Guidance and Counseling teachers.</em>

Job Fair: A Vehicle to Build Networks and Bring Workers Together to Reduce Unemployment

The Cirebon Regency Manpower Office has held a job fair program as a step to overcome the problem of unemployment. This study aims to evaluate the job fair program and find out the impact of the implementation of the job fair organized by the Cirebon Regency Manpower Office and whether it has gone well in accordance with the goals that have been set. The evaluation of this program uses criteria developed by William N. Dunn. This study uses a qualitative approach by utilizing primary and secondary data. The data analysis process involves the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions drawn. The results of the study show that the job fair program can be said to be quite successful. This program showed positive results of the six evaluation indicators used: effectiveness, efficiency, adequacy, alignment, responsiveness, and accuracy. Although some aspects still need to be improved, the implementation of this program can be considered successful. Overall, it can be concluded that the job market program in Cirebon Regency is an effective step in overcoming the problem of unemployment. By making several improvements, this program has the potential to be more optimal in providing support to the community in finding a job.

EFEKTIVITAS PELAKSANAAN ANGGARAN DI DINAS TENAGA KERJA DAN TRANSMIGRASI KABUPATEN BOALEMO

The Manpower and Transmigration Service of Boalemo Regency, the hardest problem in this case is the system and the budget portion which is considered very minimal so that it has an impact on development in Boalemo Regency. The aim of the research is to determine the effectiveness of budget implementation at the Boalemo Regency Manpower and Transmigration Service. The research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection methods through observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques using the Miles and Huberman model which consists of data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions or verification. The research result is Budget sources originating from the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget must be utilized through the General Allocation Fund. Where the implementation and allocation of the budget must include the availability of land, in this case facilities and infrastructure to support workforce activities such as job fairs, the availability of facilities and infrastructure such as Job Training Centers that can help job seekers from both companies and prospective employees.

EXPLORING POTENTIAL CAREER CHALLENGES AND ASSOCIATED FACTORS INFLUENCING DENTAL STUDENTS, HOUSE OFFICERS AND RESIDENTS IN A PUBLIC SECTOR UNIVERSITY, KARACHI PAKISTAN - A CROSS-SECTIONAL STUDY

Objectives: To find out dental students' opinions about their future career challenges in the dental profession, and to recognize factors associated with career challenges faced by dental students, house officers, and residents in a public sector university, Karachi. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted at Sindh Institute of Oral Health Sciences on dental undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate students currently enrolled at Jinnah Sindh Medical University in November and December 2023. Participants were asked to complete a closed-ended questionnaire on a 5-point Likert scale specifically designed to record relevant items about their career challenges. The data was then analyzed through SPSS version 24. Results: A total of 163 people participated in the study with the majority being females (63.8%, n=104), the majority from second-year BDS (23.9%, n=39) with most scoring below 80% academically. Both parents had a university education (52.5%, n=171) and a monthly income of more than 80,000/=PKR (58%,n=94). The majority reported facing difficulty in securing a job in the government sector (74.2%), local postgraduate course (77.9%), postgraduate courses abroad difficult and expensive (68.1%) and quackery may affect their job prospects negatively(69.3%). The factors that showed positive association included “facing competition for government sector jobs” and “the difficulty of obtaining a job as a lecturer” at p-value=0.05. Conclusion: Young dentists perceive finding jobs in the public sector and getting admission to postgraduate courses as difficult in comparison to getting hired at a private clinic. All these hindrances can be avoided by arranging job fairs and career counseling sessions for students and graduates. KEYWORDS: Career Choice, Motivation, Goals, Specialization, Workforce

Analyzing of IDUKA as Partner to Improve the Quality of Graduates

This article aims to analyze of Industri Dunia Usaha Dan Dunia Kerja (IDUKA) as partner to improve the quality of Graduates at Vocational High School PGRI 3 Malang. The aim of building a partnership between IDUKA with schools is to guide knowledgeable students into the industrial realm of IDUKA which is in line with the student's major. This research uses qualitative research methods with the research design used in this research is a case study which aims to describe IDUKA's search as a partner to improve the quality of graduates at SMK PGRI 3 Malang. Data was obtained through observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique is carried out in several steps, namely: data condensation, data presentation and drawing conclusions/verification. The results showed that the IDUKA search process was carried out by the Industrial Cooperation Division by submitting field work practice proposals, the school also attended activities at job fairs that followed the principles of link and match, the quality and quantity obtained by schools and industry in the world of business and work (IDUKA) is in accordance with what is expected and needed by partners.

THE EMPLOYMENT RATE AND EMPLOYABILITY STATUS OF BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN OFFICE ADMINISTRATION GRADUATES FROM ACADEMIC YEAR 2018 TO 2019: A TRACER STUDY

Tracer study is very important as a way of understanding the relevance and quality of programs offered by the higher education institutions as well as the labor market. Thus, the purpose of this quantitative study is to trace the graduates of the Kapalong College of Agriculture, Sciences and Technology (KCAST). Particularly, the study was conducted among 87 graduates of Bachelor of Science in Office Administration (BSOA) in A.Y. 2018-2019. The researchers found out that majority of the course contents of their program are relevant to their career requirements. In terms of employability rate of the graduates, more than half of them got employed one to three months after the graduation. Most of them are single and 23 years of age. 43.6% of the respondents are currently working as full-time in their job. With the data gathered, the researchers concluded that through their competent communication and interpersonal skills, graduates were more likely to land on the jobs connected to the degree they have studied. Therefore, the researchers recommend that the institution, particularly the department, should hold various job fairs and extensive seminars, as well as training and lectures for the graduating office administration students which are designed based on the specific needs of the industry. REDEFINING THE FUTURE OF TALENT ACQUISITION: THE GENESIS OF IMMERSIVE VR RESUMES THROUGH DESIGN THINKING

The rapid evolution of virtual reality (VR) technology is poised to revolutionize the professional recruitment landscape, shifting the paradigm from the linearity and static nature of traditional resumes to immersive VR resumes. This article introduces a groundbreaking framework anchored in the Design Thinking process model, which offers a structured, user-centric approach to creating VR resumes on platforms like Spatial. Rooted in five stages—Empathise, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test—this methodology emphasizes the importance of user experience, iterative design, and context. By seamlessly integrating 'context' and 'form', the proposed strategy aids professionals in designing resonant and interactive resumes in a virtual space. The application of VR in Spatial offers features like customizable 3D environments, personalized avatars, and real-time collaborations, empowering candidates to craft compelling narratives of their professional journeys. Although industries like technology and design are predicted to be early adopters, the adoption of VR resumes might encounter initial resistance due to factors like a lack of standardization and concerns over inclusivity. However, with potential integrations on platforms like LinkedIn and the prospect of virtual job fairs, VR resumes have the potential to redefine engagement methods in recruitment. As the professional world grapples with this transformation, it's vital to strike a balance, ensuring that VR resumes complement rather than replace traditional methods, fostering a recruitment process that is technologically advanced yet deeply human-centric and inclusive.

Excellent cases of the Ministry of Education’s supply and demand matching employment and education project: Zhongnan University of Economics and Law and X Xiamen ITG Group Corp., Ltd. cooperate in human resources improvement project

Zhongnan University of Economics and Law cooperates with Xiamen ITG Group Corp., Ltd. to carry out the Ministry of Education’s supply and demand matching employment and education project. The cooperation includes conducting school-enterprise exchange activities such as enterprise OPEN DAY and enterprise visits to campus; holding 5 special job fairs on campus for 24 people Graduates joined Xiamen ITG Group Corp., Ltd. through school recruitment; jointly launched the first National Career Planning Competition school competition and the “Jishi Cup” series of employment guidance activities to enhance students’ professional qualities. The project cooperation has achieved a win-win situation for universities, enterprises and students, forming a deep integration exchange mechanism between schools and enterprises and a new model of employment and education work for matching supply and demand between schools and enterprises; integrating corporate culture and employer brand into the process of students’ training in advance; and building students’ interests through Groups, schools and enterprises jointly cultivate talents urgently needed by enterprises. The project cooperation explores the formation of an employment education work model that integrates “economics, law, and management” and combines “theory and practice”. The project’s summer practice research results were selected into the list of the 8th National College Student Summer Practice Exhibition. The project results are used as typical cases in The theoretical version of the “Zhongnan University of Economics and Law Newspaper” was published, and in December 2023, it was rated as an outstanding case of the Ministry of Education’s supply and demand matching employment and education project (a total of 35 projects nationwide).

CHOOSING THE RIGHT COLLEGE COURSES THROUGH CAREER GUIDANCE PROGRAM (CGP) MODULES AND WORK IMMERSION (WI)

This study was conducted to determine if the conduct of Career Guidance Program (CGP) Modules and Work Immersion (WI) are really helping Grade 12 learners in choosing their right college courses. The researcher utilized descriptive research design. Then, he randomly selected the respondents from the two (2) sections of Grade 12 Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) learners of Los Baños Senior High School (LBSHS) S. Y. 2018 - 2019. In addition to this, four (4) teachers were also chosen as additional respondents. A researcher made a questionnaire and distributed to the fourty – two (42) chosen respondents. Simple statistics like Frequency and Percentage were used to get the analysis of data. The Career Guidance Program (CGP) Modules and Work Immersion (WI) were found to provide help in choosing the college courses of Grade 12 STEM students. This is reflected on the significant learnings of the respondents. It is also visible in the identified help or assistance that they rendered to the respondents. In general, the courses taken by Grade 12 STEM students are related to their Track and Strand which are Academic and STEM respectively. This is denoted by thirty - six (36) responses or equivalent to 94.74 % the total responses. Most of the courses that they intend to take are related to Science and Mathematics. The learners are also becoming more involved in making the decisions of what particular college course they will pursue. It is visible in the percentage of their involvement particularly twelve (12) responses or 31.58 % for the child and twenty- two (22) or 57.89 % for both child and parents. It is also recommended that in the conduct of CGP Modules, consider having more self - assessment activities, and more reading and oral activities like sharing of outputs. Allot enough time to execute the modules to the SHS students. In the conduct of Work Immersion, try to make the time longer, have more exposure to actual field works and assign the students to institutions where their interests could be enhanced. In addition, other school programs or activities are suggested in order to augment the right career choices of SHS students like symposia or seminars about career path and opportunities, job fair, and organize club like peer educators or counselors club through the guidance counselors or advocates. And finally intensify the Counselling Program for SHS students focused on career pathing.

Collaborative GovernanceIn Overcoming Unemployment in Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province

The purpose of this research is to analyze and explain the implementation of Collaborative Governance in Overcoming Unemployment in Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province. This research uses a qualitative method with descriptive research type. Techniques in determining informants with purposive sampling. The type of data source consists of two, namely primary and secondary data. For data collection techniques used are by prioritizing interview techniques, observation and documentation. The data analysis technique that the author uses is by collecting data which is then analyzed in depth and concluded as a whole in order to get the results of collaborative governance in tackling unemployment. The results in this study concluded that there is still a lack of collaboration between stakeholders in tackling unemployment due to the lack of company involvement in activities carried out by the Bengkalis Regency Government, including job fairs and workforce training. It is hoped that in the future the Bengkalis Regency Government can give an appeal to companies to be actively involved in participating in programs to reduce unemployment and evaluate these activities optimally.

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) has established an HR development program. The company's main goal is to transform the employee perspective into a service provider perspective by fostering high-level expertise, increasing individual productivity, and enabling them to better contribute to initiatives aimed at increasing business success. The purpose of the research is to find out the HR development programs carried out by PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) to improve the quality of employees. The method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection through literature study. The results showed that PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) has a human resource development strategy, including a quality recruitment process by finding qualified candidates through job fairs at various prestigious universities and competency-based education and training (Diklat) programs held in stages, starting from the professional growth stage to the development of fundamental competencies through six available training venues.

IDENTIFYING EFFORTS AND CHALLENGES OF MARKETING THE DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS MEDICAL FOSTER HOME PROGRAM

Abstract The United States (US) Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Foster Home (MFH) program is a long-term care (LTC) option for Veterans needing nursing home-level care. In the MFH program, Veterans live in the home of a community-based caregiver who has been recruited and screened by VA staff. Since 2016, VA Offices of Rural Health and Geriatrics and Extended Care has expanded the program, and by 2026 the VA plans to have programs at every VA Medical Center. To describe current efforts to market the MFH program, we conducted a national survey of MFH staff between Dec. 2, 2021-Jan. 6, 2022. We sent invitations via email, including a website link to the survey. N=94 completed the survey. Three team members analyzed open-ended data, using an inductive and deductive approach to thematic analysis. Findings revealed that external marketing strategies primarily focused on recruiting appropriate caregivers. Efforts included in-person presentations to community groups, utilizing local media outlets, manning booths at local health and job fairs, and providing written materials about the program. Internal marketing efforts included approaching many different VA departments including inpatient social workers, case managers, and discharge planners to identify Veterans for the program, and holding in-service presentations. Challenges included MFH coordinators having minimal time to market the program and receiving inconsistent support from the VA Public Affairs Office depending on location. Findings will inform expansion of the MFH program, which is paramount as the demand for LTC increases concurrently with the aging Veteran population.

It explores the design features, analyzes current methods, and integrates new approaches like psychological testing, counseling, skill profiling, and job fairs with modern platforms such as social media and virtual reality. The study investigates the use of machine learning for labor market analysis, recommendation systems, and individualized learning plans, highlighting the enhanced efficiency and personalization in career guidance. The findings reveal the significant potential of these systems to refine the precision and effectiveness of career choices.

Assessment of the Excessive Rehearses of Smartphones Affected Symptoms on Sound Health of University Students in Bangladesh

The usage of smartphone is increasing rapidly, and it is treated as a symbol of status among the young generation, especially university students. The study is conducted to determine symptoms of excessive use of smartphones on university students’ sound health. Among 350 students of Accounting and Information Systems (AIS), 289 voluntarily responded to answer the close-ended questionnaire with a five-point Likert Scale. To test and analyze the collected data, Cronbach’s Alpha, mean, standard deviation, coefficient of variation, correlation analysis, factor analysis, and regression analysis are applied with the help of SPSS v25. The eye problem, physically uncomfortable, decreased academic performance, headaches, frustration, abstaining from indoor/outdoor games, physical exercise, and woes in family bonding have a significant correlation with the health conditions of the students and a significant impact on the dependent variable indicating abstaining from gaming, headache, and frustration are liable for overall uneasy feelings. Proper authorities should formulate effective policies to engage the students in different types of indoor and outdoor games, extra-curricular activities like debating, cultural programs (such as singing, playing, and dancing), quiz competitions, science fairs, and job fairs for improving mental health as well as physical activities.

Usability and Display Evaluation of Job Vacancy Platform (Website X and Website Y)

One of the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic is the delay in face-to-face activities, one of which is the delay in holding job fair event. The reduction in the implementation of offline job fairs has encouraged job seekers to seek work through online media. Website X and Website Y are examples of websites used to find jobs online. With the current increase in find jobs through Website X and Website Y, the usability and display of their website need to be evaluated. Usability and display evaluation aims to identify usability problems and correct these problems, to increase the usability of a design. The objective of this study is to find out whether there is a significant difference of the time needed to find job vacancy between Website X and Website Y website, to find out whether there is a significant difference of the time needed to find job vacancy between male and female on both Website X and Website Y website, and to find out user perspective on both Website X and Website Y website related to system aspects, user aspects, and interaction aspects by using usability questionnaire. The advantage of this research is that it can help website developers by pointing out areas that require development or improvement. Other than that, this study might provide suggestions for job vacancy websites that are more user-friendly. Based on the results of the study it was found that Website X and Website Y had problems related to user perceptions of the safety of using the website, user comfort with using colors on the website, and the user's ability to remember menus and website appearance. The results also show that there is a significant difference between the time needed to carry out activities on Website X and Website Y.

Determinants of gini ratio: a case study of low gini ratio in Madura

One of the regencies on Madura Island, namely Sumenep, will be the regency with the lowest gini ratio in East Java Province in 2022. This research was conducted to analyze: 1) the effects of health, education, open unemployment rate, and poverty rate partially on the Gini ratio; 2) the effects of health, education, open unemployment rate, and poverty rate simultaneously on the Gini ratio in Madura Island. The research method was carried out using panel data regression. The results obtained using the CEM: 1) health, education, and poverty levels have a negative and not significant effect; 2) the open unemployment rate influences positively and significantly; 3) all independent variables simultaneously have a significant positive effect. The government can issue policies to reduce income inequality in the form of providing free health services, education and compulsory education scholarships, periodic job fairs, skills training for workers, and distribution of social assistance that is right on target.

ANALISIS KUALITAS LAYANAN WEBSITE SMK NEGERI 4 KOTA JAMBI MENGGUNAKAN METODE WEBQUAL 4.0

In finding information, we often experience difficulties, but having a website makes it easier for us to obtain information, one of which is on the educational website, namely SMK Negeri 4 Jambi City, which is a site that provides information about schools, accepting new students and other information. However, the information service available on the SMK Negeri 4 Jambi City website still has a number of problems, including the student menu, which is in the rules and regulations section, the alumni menu is in the alumni directory section, the work unit menu is in the job fair (BKK) section, curriculum, and student affairs. The purpose of this study was to determine the quality of the website at SMK Negeri 4 Jambi City using the webqual (Website Quality) method. The webqual method itself consists of several dimensions, namely quality of use, quality of information, quality of service interaction with quantitative data analysis techniques obtained from questionnaires. With a total sample of 100 respondents and data processing using SmartPLS 4 software. The results showed that of the 3 (three) variables in the model (hypotheses) tested, 2 hypotheses had a significant effect and 1 other hypothesis had no significant effect. The 2 hypotheses accepted are H2 and H3. While 1 hypothesis that is rejected is H1. Overall the website of SMK Negeri 4 Jambi City has a positive impact
