Application of the Jigsaw Learning Model to Improve Learning Outcomes in History Subjects Class XI-4 at SMA Negeri 14 Medan

This study seeks to enhance student learning achievements by implementing the Jigsaw learning model with Class XI-4 at SMA NEGERI 14 Medan. Currently, the learning outcomes and student engagement have not met expectations. Learning methods that are inappropriate and do not suit students' characteristics in implementing learning are one of the causes of the learning outcomes and student activity that are not achieved as expected. In using jigsaw learning, students work in small groups to solve tasks that have been divided, each group member is responsible for studying and understanding part of the learning material and then sharing their knowledge with other group members. In this process, In this approach, each student specializes in a specific section of the material and gains a deeper comprehension through teamwork with their peers on the content provided by the teacher. The findings of this study demonstrate that applying the Jigsaw learning model effectively enhances history learning outcomes for Class XI-4 at SMA NEGERI 14 Medan. The research indicates a notable improvement in student performance, with scores rising from 65.5% in the first cycle to 86.9% in the second cycle. Additionally, the study highlights improvements in students' communication, collaboration, and respect for the opinions and contributions of other groups.

STAD atau Jigsaw? Menguji Keefektifan Dua Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif dalam PKn

This study aims to determine the differences in Civic Education learning outcomes between students taught using the STAD cooperative learning model and the Jigsaw cooperative learning model at MAN 1 Kendari. The research method used is an experimental design with a post-test only control group design. The sample consists of 60 students, selected through multi-stage random sampling, with 30 students from class XI IPS2 and 30 students from class XI IPS3. Data were collected using a Civic Education learning outcomes test, which was validated and tested for reliability, with a reliability score of 0.903. The results showed that the average learning outcomes of students taught with the STAD model were higher (87.21) compared to those taught with the Jigsaw model (73.44). Hypothesis testing revealed a significant difference between the two learning models, with a t-value (30) greater than the t-table value (2.390) at a 0.01 significance level. This study concludes that the STAD cooperative learning model is more effective in improving Civic Education learning outcomes compared to the Jigsaw learning model.

Penerapan Model JIGSAW Memanfaatkan Teknologi Smart TV untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Menulis Teks Ulasan Kelas VIII di SMPIT Al-Irsyad Al-Islamiyyah Karawang

Indonesian language learning in schools requires the right learning model to maximize student learning outcomes. This study aims to determine the effect of applying the Jigsaw model utilizing smart TV technology in improving students' review text writing ability. This research is a quantitative research. The research method used was quasi-experiment with Nonequaivalent Control Group Design. The samples of this study were class VIII Gaza as the experimental class and class VIII Kuffah as the control class. The data collection technique in this study used a description test technique. The results showed that the application of the Jigsaw model utilizing smart TV technology had a significant effect on students' review text writing ability. This can be proven from the average value of the experimental class on the pretest 64.57 and posttest 87.39. While the average value of the control class on the pretest 38,91 and posttest 66,96. Based on the results of the N- Gain calculation, there is a significant effectiveness, namely the experimental class 65.01 which is quite effective and the control class 44.91 which is less effective. In knowing the significant difference, the difference test of two average N-Gain scores was conducted. The results obtained are the significance value (2-tailed) 0.005 <0.05, so it is stated that Ha is accepted, meaning that the ability to write student review texts with the application of the Jigsaw learning model is better than students who do the Jigsaw learning model.

Membandingkan Model Pembelajaran Snowball Throwing dan Jigsaw Terhadap Hasil Belajar IPA Kelas V SD

Science learning is currently considered less interesting so students are less enthusiastic about participating in learning and this affects their learning outcomes. This research aims to compare the cognitive learning outcomes of students who use the Snowball Throwing and Jigsaw learning models. The research used quasi-experimental, non-equivalent control group design. The research was carried out at SDN Kayen Kidul in class V with 32 students divided into 2 groups. This research took samples using saturated sampling techniques. Research data was obtained through test instruments. The data was then analyzed using the Independent Sample T Test and the N Gain Score Test. Based on the Independent Sample T-Test, the significance value was 0.512, meaning that there was no significant difference in the learning outcomes of students who used the Snowball Throwing and Jigsaw models. Based on the N Gain Score test, it is known that the Snowball Throwing model is more effective than the Jigsaw model, because the N Gain Score value for the Snowball Throwing class is greater than 0.6465, compared to the value for the Jigsaw class 0.5835. Based on the two test results above, it is known that the Snowball Throwing learning model is more effective in influencing student learning outcomes compared to the Jigsaw learning model on the main subject of human blood circulation in elementary schools, as well as being a novelty in this research. The results of this research can serve as guidance and recommendations in developing strategies or policies in relevant fields.

Applying Of Jigsaw Model To Enhance Students’ Reading Comprehension

The purpose of the research was to know the Jigsaw learning model can enhance on VII grade students’ cognitive learning outcomes in reading comprehension at SMPN 1 Praya Barat. It was participant classroom action research. It was done in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. Subject of the research was 32 students. Instruments used were students' test, students' and teacher’s activities used observation sheets, at the end of each cycle. The research findings show that implementation of Jigsaw learning model can improve students' cognitive competence. Percentage of students' classical achievement in cognitive competence improves time by time. In pre-cycle, the percentage is 46% (not enough), in cycle I is 50% (not enough) and in cycle II is 92% (very good). Meanwhile, percentage of students' Activity also improves. In pre-cycle, the percentage is 52% (enough), in cycle I is 64% (good) and in cycle II is 80% (very good). From the finding, it proves that the implementation of Jigsaw learning model can improve students' cognitive competence and Activity in class VII of SMPN 1 Praya Barat

INCREASING KNOWLEDGE OF MIDWIFERY STUDENTS ABOUT FLOOD DISASTERS USING THE JIGSAW LEARNING METHOD

Background: Not having had direct experience in dealing with disasters means that students are not ready to be prepared, so disaster education using a jigsaw learning method is needed. Objectives: This research aims to study the effect of the jigsaw learning model on knowledge of flood disasters in level 3 students in the STIKES TMS undergraduate midwifery study program. Methods: The research design used pre-experimental with one group pretest and post test design. The population of this study were all third year undergraduate midwifery students at STIKES TMS totaling 30 (total sampling) using the Wilcoxon test. Results: The knowledge of third level midwifery students at STIKES TMS before the jigsaw method was known to be less than 6 people, 15 people were sufficient and 9 people were good. The knowledge of third level midwifery students of STIKES TMS after the jigsaw method was found to be 3 people lacking, 5 people sufficient and 22 people good Conclusion: The p value = 0.000 means that there is an influence of the jigsaw learning method on knowledge of flood disasters in third year undergraduate midwifery study programs at STIKES TMS Bengkulu

The Effectiveness of Integrated Socio-Scientific Issues Jigsaw Model to Improve Students’ Chemistry Literacy and Communication Skills

This quasi-experimental study was designed to determine the effectiveness of the integrated socio-scientific issues (SSI) Jigsaw learning model to improve students' chemical literacy and communication skills on acid-base solution topic. A number of 31 and 36 of 11th grade students were randomly selected for the experimental and the control classes, respectively. The integrated SSI Jigsaw learning model was applied for the experimental class, while the Direct Instruction (DI) model was used for the control class. The literacy test, and the Likert scale instrument were used for collecting the data; while the t-test, and the n-gain test technique were used for analysing the data. The results indicated that there were significant mean increasing in the chemistry literacy and communication skills of students after learning with the SSI Jigsaw integrated model. The n-gain value for chemistry literacy skills and for student communication skills were 64.26% and 56.19%, respectively. This mean that the integrated socio-scientific issues (SSI) Jigsaw learning model is promising improve students' chemistry literacy and communication skills on acid-base solution topic.

Peningkatan Keterampilan Membaca Pemahaman Peserta Didik Menggunakan Model Cooperative Learning Tipe Jigsaw di Kelas V SD Negeri 03 Pakan Kurai Kota Bukittinggi

Cooperative Learning Model type Jigsaw is a learning model that can be used in the learning process to improve the reading skills of the student's understanding. The background of this study is poor reading skills, learning processes that are still centered on the teacher, students who have difficulty understanding the reading text and identifying the key ideas or basic ideas as well as important details contained in the text they read. The study aims to describe improved reading skills and understanding of the student using the Cooperative Learning model of the Jigsaw type. The research was carried out at the SDN 03 Pakan Kurai City of Bukittinggi. This type of research is class action research that consists of four stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. This research uses both qualitative and quantitative approaches. The research was carried out in two cycles, Cycle I consisting of two meetings and Cycle II consisted of one meeting. Subject of the research is the student of V SD State 03 Pakan Kurai City Bukittinggi. This study showed that there was an improvement in the reading skills of learners using the Cooperative Learning model of Jigsaw. Thus, the cooperative learning model of jigsaw can be an effective option for enhancing the learning skills of students.

Penerapan Strategi Pembelajaran Mind Map Untuk Meningkatkan Hasil Dan Aktivitas Belajar Siswa Pada Materi Pokok Struktur Dan Fungsi Jaringan Tumbuhan Di Kelas VIII-A SMP Negeri 4 Jakarta

This research aims to find out whether the application of the Mind map learning model to the main topic of structure and function of tissues in plants can improve student learning outcomes. This research is a PTK carried out in two cycles, each consisting of two meetings. This is intended to obtain maximum research results.From the implementation of this PTK, findings were obtained that there was an increase in learning outcomes and student activities. This can be seen from the results of observations in cycle I and cycle II. In the first cycle, students' test scores averaged 65.79 with student activity increasing from 27% to 43%, while student learning completion was only 65.79%. In cycle II, students' test results increased to an average of 72.10, their activities also increased from 49% to 69%, while students' learning completion reached 74.38%.From the overall data and findings, it can be concluded that the application of the Jigsaw learning model to Mind map learning material on the main topic of structure and function of tissues in plants can improve the learning outcomes of class VIII.A students at SMP Negeri 4 Jakarta.

PENGARUH PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE JIGSAW TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITIS PADA MATA PELAJARAN PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM DAN BUDI PEKERTI KELAS X DI SMA NEGERI 1 PUDING BESAR (QUASI EKSPERIMEN)

The background of this research is the subject of Islamic Religious Education and Character Education which is considered boring and monotonous because it is often taught with less varied learning methods and models so that students have a passive nature in learning which results in a lack of student learning outcomes, especially in terms of critical thinking. . This research aims to determine the effect of implementing a type of cooperative learning model jigsaw on critical thinking skills in the subjects of Islamic Religious Education and Character in class X at SMA Negeri 1 Puding Besar. This type of research is a quantitative experiment with Quasi Experimental Design. The population used was all class X, totaling four classes, while the samples were taken using techniques simple random sampling is class X-1 as the experimental class and class X-3 as the control class. The data collection technique used in this research is the test (pre-test and post-test) which each amount to 10 HOTS shaped questions essay. The hypothesis test used is the t-test in the form of Independent Sample T-Test. The results of this research are hypothesis testing with Independent Sample T-Test Using a significance level of 5% (α = 0.05), the Sig value is known. (2-tailed) is 0.000. At the decision making criteria 0.000 < 0.05, then H0 rejected and H1 accepted. So there is a significant influence of the type of cooperative learning model jigsaw on critical thinking skills in the subjects of Islamic Religious Education and Character in class X at SMA Negeri 1 Puding Besar.

Peningkatan Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis pada Pelajaran Matematika Siswa Kelas VI SD Citarik III melalui Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe Jigsaw

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Jigsaw cooperative learning model in improving critical thinking skills in mathematics lessons for sixth-grade students at Citarik III Elementary School. The research was conducted using a two-cycle action research approach. The subjects of the study were 30 sixth-grade students at Citarik III Elementary School. Research instruments included pre-tests, post-tests, observation sheets, interviews, and field notes. The results showed that the Jigsaw learning model was effective in improving students' critical thinking skills. There was a significant increase in post-test scores in each cycle, indicating a progressive improvement in students' critical thinking skills. Good interaction among students in groups, positive student responses, and adjustments to lesson plans based on reflections from the previous cycle were key factors in the success of this learning model.

Is the Jigsaw Model Still Relevant for Improving Mathematical Ability? Meta-Analysis Studies

The Jigsaw learning model focuses on student activities in learning in general and also has an influence on students' mathematical abilities, but there are also some that do not have a significant influence. This research attempts to answer how much influence the Jigsaw model has based on the desired categorical variables. Therefore, meta-analysis research is needed to provide comprehensive and in-depth conclusions about the application of the Jigsaw model to students' mathematical abilities. Comprehensive Meta-Analysis (CMA) is used to evaluate a property's value based on comparisons to similar properties in the same area. Data was obtained from Publish or Perish (PoP) with a total of 500 articles from 2010 to 2023 with the Google Scholar database. The number of journals that meet the requirements and will be analyzed is 30 sample articles with a total of 1252 students. The moderator variables in this study consider country, education level, sample size and publication source. Based on research findings, the Jigsaw model has a significant influence on numeracy skills (P-value 0.05), with an effect size of 1.146 which is classified as very high based on fixed effects and a standard error of 0.045. The research results show that the Jigsaw model is still relevant for improving students' mathematical abilities, especially at the elementary school level. This meta-analysis study reveals that there is no difference in the results of implementing the Jigsaw model on students' mathematical abilities in all country categories.

The Jigsaw Learning Model to Promote Engagement in the English Language Classroom: A Teacher’s Reflection

Learning activities employing the lecture model have induced boredom among students and resulted in poor participation in the classroom, including in the English as a foreign language class. Low student participation in classrooms may impede the development of their skills. The jigsaw cooperative learning model provides an opportunity for students to collaborate and actively participate. This collaborative action research aims to assist students in addressing engagement issues in English lessons through the jigsaw cooperative learning model. The collaborative action research involved a cohort of 36 primary school students, comprising 20 females and 16 males, in the city of Purwokerto, Indonesia. Data was collected through observation, and the observational data obtained were then analyzed using descriptive statistics. After three cycles, student engagement increased from 56% (baseline) to 65.56%, 75.56%, and 79.44%, respectively. The desired criteria for intervention success (75%) were met in cycle 2, leading to the conclusion of the investigation in cycle 3. Based on the results, it can be inferred that the adoption of the jigsaw learning model has effectively enhanced student engagement in the English language class. Practical implications of the study are then presented.

Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Numbered Head Together dan Jigsaw untuk Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Siswa Mata Pelajaran Ekonomi Kelas X IPS di SMA Negeri 5 Kota Serang

This research aims to determine the effect of the Numbered Head Together (NHT) learning model and the Jigsaw learning model on student learning outcomes in economics class X IPS at SMA Negeri 5 Serang City, as well as to determine the differences using the Numbered Head Together (NHT) learning model and Jigsaw on student learning outcomes in economics subjects for class X IPS at SMA Negeri 5 Serang City. This type of research is a quasi-experimental quantitative research (Quasi experimental design) with a nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design, the population used for this research data is the entire class X IPS. The samples taken were classes X IPS 1 and X IPS 3. The instruments used were tests (pretest-posttest), interviews and non-tests in the form of documentation. Based on the results of the analysis of the Numbered Head Together (NHT) learning model on learning outcomes with the t test Tcount < Ttable, namely 0.000 < 2.306. So the Numbered Head Together (NHT) learning model influences student learning outcomes. Based on the results of the analysis of the Jigsaw learning model with the t test Tcount < Ttable, namely 0.001 < 2.306. So the Jigsaw learning model influences student learning outcomes. The Numbered Head Together (NHT) and Jigsaw learning models have significant differences in learning outcomes. This can be seen from Tcount < Ttable, namely that the Jigsaw learning model is -2.928 < 2.306 and the learning model is -2.928 < 2.306. So it can be concluded that there is a significant difference in learning outcomes between the Numbered Head Together (NHT) and jigsaw learning models on the learning outcomes of class X IPS students at SMA Negeri 5 Serang City.

The Impact of Lesson Study for Learning Community (LSLC) on Student Participation Based Jigsaw Learning Model

Participation is an important factor in achieving maximum learning in achieving learning goals. However, the level of student participation in learning is still relatively low. Therefore, efforts need to be made in the form of innovation in learning to increase student participation in learning, such as implementing LSLC based on the Jigsaw learning model. This research is a descriptive study with a sample of class XI IPS 1 SMA Adabiah 2 Padang. This research aims to see the impact of LSLC on student participation in learning using the Jigsaw learning model. Based on the results of data analysis, it was found that for each meeting there was a significant increase in student participation. So it can be concluded that learning using LSLC and the Jigsaw learning model has a positive impact on student participation in learning.

The Influence of Cooperative Learning Models and Learning Styles on Social Skills in University Student

The affective domain is very important in supporting students' social skills as a predictor of academic success. The purpose of this study was to test the effectiveness of the Jigsaw learning model compared to the Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) learning model as an effort to improve students' social skills. The method in this study uses an experimental method with a 2x2 factorial design. The population in this study were 270 students of the Department of Physical Education who contracted the Taekwondo Learning course. The sample involved in this research was 64 people using a cluster random sampling technique. The instruments used were the VARK Questionnaire to determine student learning styles, and the Social Skills Improvement System questionnaire. Data analysis technique using Factorial ANOVA test. The results showed that the value of the main effect on the learning model has a significant value. 0.274 > 0.05, which means that there is no significant difference in the effect of applying the learning model on students' social skills, but there is an interaction between the learning model and learning styles. The Jigsaw learning model has a significant effect compared to the STAD learning model for students with the Kinesthetic learning style, whereas for students with the Aural learning style there is no significant difference between the two models. Both social skills can be improved through the Jigsaw and STAD learning models, but when students who have a Kinesthetic learning style are more advised to use the Jigsaw learning model.

Biotechnology Engineering Vertical Hydroponic Farming in PjBL-STEM Learning Jigsaw Strategy to Improve Creative Thinking Skills and Creativity of Grade 10 Students

This study tested the effectiveness of PjBL-STEM learning model jigsaw strategy on creative thinking skills and creativity of grade X students on biotechnology vertical hydroponic farming material. The research method used was quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttest control group design, which was conducted in Class X SMAN 1 Ciracap in Sukabumi Regency as many as 60 students consisting of 30 experimental class students and 30 control class students. Data collection was conducted using initial and final tests for creative thinking skills and observation sheets for student creativity and student response questionnaires to the PjBL-STEM Jigsaw strategy model. Quantitative data from the study were analyzed using SPSS-25 and qualitative data were processed using descriptive analysis. The experimental class received PjBL-STEM learning treatment with jigsaw strategy, while the control class used PjBL. For the first time learning model applied in class X, PjBL-STEM jigsaw strategy is effective in improving students' creative thinking skills and creativity. The prominent creative thinking skills are shown in the fluency and originality indicators. Based on the observation, the implementation of the PjBL-STEM model of jigsaw strategy directs students to the steps of inquiry, engineering design, production process, and communication much better than PjBL.

Implementation of the Jigsaw Model Assisted by E-Modules in Science Learning on Ecosystem Material for Class V Elementary Schools

Critical thinking skills, independence, and low learning outcomes for most students are the essential background for this research. This problem causes the learning process carried out in class not to run optimally. This research aims to determine the influence of implementing the Jigsaw learning model assisted by e-modules on students' critical thinking abilities, independence, and learning outcomes. The approach in this research is quantitative with a Quasi-Experimental research type. The design of this research is Posttest Control Group Design. The population is classes VA and VB using total sampling techniques where all population members are used as research samples. Data collection techniques include questionnaires (measuring critical thinking abilities and learning independence) and tests to measure learning outcomes. The analysis shows the influence of using the Jigsaw-type cooperative learning model assisted by e-modules on critical thinking skills, independence, and student learning outcomes in grade 5 elementary school ecosystem material. Thus, learning with the Jigsaw model can overcome students' learning problems and needs.

APPLICATION OF JIGSAW TYPE COOPERATIVE LEARNING TO STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES IN CLASS IX SMP NEGERI 2 NGABANG

This research aims to find out how the average student learning outcomes before being given the jigsaw type cooperative learning model affect student learning outcomes in introductory hardware and software material in class IX of SMP Negeri 2 Ngabang, to find out the average student learning outcomes after being given the model jigsaw type cooperative learning on student learning outcomes in the introduction of hardware and software material in class IX of SMP Negeri 2 Ngabang and to determine the effect of implementing the jigsaw type cooperative learning model on student learning outcomes in the introduction of hardware and software material in class IX of SMP Negeri 2 Ngabang. The independent variable is the jigsaw type cooperative learning model, while the related variable is learning outcomes. In this research, researchers used experimental research methods, a Quasi Experimental Design research form with a nonequivalent control group design. The population in this study was all students in class IX of SMP Negeri 2 Ngabang, totaling 233 students. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Data collection techniques use measurement techniques. The data analysis technique from the results of this research is the t test. The results that are known after conducting this research are that there is a significant interaction effect between the use of the jigsaw type cooperative learning model on student learning outcomes. The average score of student learning outcomes using the Jigsaw learning model is higher than the average score of student learning outcomes using the conventional learning model.

The Influence of the Jigsaw Learning Model on the Speaking Skills of Class V Students Theme 3 Maintaining Human Respiratory Organs at SDN 122390 Pematang Siantar

The aim of this research is to see the effect of Jigsaw learning on the speaking skills of class V students on theme 3 Maintaining Human Respiratory Organs at SDN 122390 Pematang Siantar. This type of research uses experimental research methods, which is a quantitative research method. This research design uses Pre-Experimental Design, where the research design is not yet a true experiment, because there are external variables that influence the shape of the dependent variable. The results of the research showed that students' speaking skills obtained an average pretest score of 58.91, whereas after being given treatment using the Inquiry model, an average posttest score of 81.30 was obtained and there was a significant influence of using the Jigsaw Type Cooperative learning model on student learning outcomes. It is known that the significance value (2-tailed) is 0.000. Then 0.000 < 0.05. This can be concluded to mean that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, which means that there is an influence of the Jigsaw cooperative learning model on the speaking skills of class V students, Sub Theme 3 Maintaining the Health of Human Respiratory Organs at SD N 122390 Pematangsiantar.
