Implementation of conceptual learning in STEM Technology for Higher education through JADE multiagent system

In the education system, teaching and learning takes place through various modes. In teaching mode, various types of strategies have beenfollowed and in learning, various types of strategies have been followed. Generally, teaching and learning takes place in traditional modes and online modes where traditional methods of learning and teaching methods are used to share and acquire knowledge which helps the individual to organize and use a particular set of skills in the order to accomplish the task effectively and efficiently. In this paper, we focus to improve the learning capability of an individual through STEM Technology using Conceptual learning through the JADE multiagent system for better understanding of subject. In conceptual learning learner must remember less and understand more to relate different concepts. Conceptual learning encourages active participation since it requires students to participate actively in the process, whereas traditional types of learning require the teacher to explain information. The student is then expected to pay attention and practice the techniques while the dynamics remain unclear. However, when it comes to conceptual learning, both the student and JADE Multiagent play a key role; with the teacher providing tasks or difficulties that help students fully develop an idea. Thus, encouraging active participation of students. Through multiagent system, we have achieved high precision and recall.

A platform for P2P agent‐based collaborative applications

SummaryThe operational environment can be a valuable source of information about the behavior of software applications and their usage context. Although a single instance of an application has limited evidence of the range of the possible behaviors and situations that might be experienced in the field, the collective knowledge composed by the evidence gathered by the many instances of a same application running in several diverse user environments (eg, a browser) might be an invaluable source of information. This information can be exploited by applications able to autonomously analyze how they behave in the field and adjust their behavior accordingly. Augmenting applications with the capability to collaborate and directly share information about their behavior is challenging because it requires the definition of a fully decentralized and dependable networked infrastructure whose nodes are the user machines. The nodes of the infrastructure must be collaborative, to share information, and autonomous, to exploit the available information to change their behavior, for instance, to better accommodate the needs of the users to prevent known problems. This paper describes the initial results that we obtained with the design and the development of an infrastructure that can enable the execution of collaborative scenarios in a fully decentralized way. Our idea is to combine the agent‐based paradigm, which is well suited to design collaborative and autonomous nodes, and the peer‐to‐peer paradigm, which is well suited to design distributed and dynamic network infrastructures. To demonstrate our idea, we augmented the popular JADE agent‐based platform with a software layer that supports both the creation of a fully decentralized peer‐to‐peer network of JADE platforms and the execution of services within that network, thus enabling JADE multiagent systems (MASs) to behave as peer‐to‐peer networks. The resulting platform can be used to study the design of collaborative applications running in the field.

An outline of the use of transition systems to formalize JADE agents and multi-agent systems

This paper presents the key aspects of a proposed formalization of JADE agents and multi-agent systems based on transition systems. Such a formalization is meant to be useful to describe and clarify how JADE multi-agent systems work and to provide a theoretical instrument to validate and analyze the semantics of JADE agents. This is needed to decouple agent-oriented and object-oriented parts of an agent design and to avoid misunderstandings on the semantics of JADE agents. The chosen approach is to define a structural operational semantics for Java programs written using JADE, and the proposed formalization consists in two parts: the first identifies and defines the main entities that together compose a JADE multi-agent system; the second provides the transition system and rewriting rules. The paper terminates with two explanatory examples of the usage of the transition system. A brief recapitulation of the work concludes the paper.

Smart grid as a service: a discussion on design issues.

Smart grid allows the integration of distributed renewable energy resources into the conventional electricity distribution power grid such that the goals of reduction in power cost and in environment pollution can be met through an intelligent and efficient matching between power generators and power loads. Currently, this rapidly developing infrastructure is not as “smart” as it should be because of the lack of a flexible, scalable, and adaptive structure. As a solution, this work proposes smart grid as a service (SGaaS), which not only allows a smart grid to be composed out of basic services, but also allows power users to choose between different services based on their own requirements. The two important issues of service-level agreements and composition of services are also addressed in this work. Finally, we give the details of how SGaaS can be implemented using a FIPA-compliant JADE multiagent system.
