Information Technology Capability Process Measurement in Organization using Cobit 5

The purpose of this research is to know the priority IT process in IT department at XYZ Organization and to know the level of capability in each IT process priority at IT department at XYZ organization. The data used and processed in this research were obtained from interviews with IT Director, IT Governance Supervisor, IT Development Supervisor, IT Operations Supervisor and Information Management Supervisor, and also observed the processes in the IT department. The result is obtained by priority IT processes and the level of capability in each of the priority IT processes at XYZ Organization. Based on the case study analysis, in order to create IT governance in accordance with the standards in the COBIT 5 framework, the organization have to improve IT governance thoroughly and continuously and fulfill the criteria in the COBIT 5 framework for all IT process in XYZ Organization.

Blockchain and Decentralized Money System: Principles of Building and Ways of Its Development

The article considers the origins of the fourth industrial revolution, the impact of new IT processes and their integration into society and economy. The authors focus on the idea of creating a cryptocurrency Bitcoin and a new payment system based on the blockchain platform. The innovative components of blockchain technology are presented. The technological changes caused by its development are analyzed. The problems of the financial industry and the technological processes occurring in the banking market are analyzed in detail. The prerequisites and the innovation process of the formation of a decentralized monetary system are explained. The authors propose a new concept of «parallel money systems» and formulate the principles of centra­lized and decentralized approaches to the organization of the monetary system. The features of building a decentralized monetary system are described; its advantages and disadvantages are formulated. A number of arguments in favor of the validity of the adoption of the new form of the monetary system is given and substantiated; the difficulties of its development are analyzed.

Audit Tingkat Kematangan Proses Internal Key Logistics System Menggunakan Kerangka Kerja Cobit 4.1 Pada Perusahaan Ekspedisi XYZ

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the level of IT maturity that occur in XYZ Shipping Company using COBIT 4.1 framework as a best practice in information technology audit. The company is highly depend on Key Logistics System as a core system in shipping process. For this reason, the company wants to focus on internal processes by increasing efficiency while minimizing costs, so COBIT IT Process was chosen: PO3, AI2, AI5, AI3, AI4, AI7, PO6, DS3, DS7, DS8, DS9, PO5, and DS6. An assessment was conducted on 26 Key Logistics System users as respondents. Stages of research to be carried out include: identification of the COBIT 4.1 process; data collection; measurement of current and target maturity levels; gap analysis; and preparation of recommendations. Result has shown that the average maturity score of the Key Logistics System is 3,50 or in maturity level 4 (managed). At this level the key logistics system process has been carried out and part of it has been standardized. However, results shows that there are some gaps below the target, such as IT Process PO5, AI2, and AI5 which have maturity level 3 (defined). In order to improve the maturity level, XYZ Shipping Company has to optimize the IT investement, application maintenance, and IT resources.

The outsourcing practice among small knowledge-intensive service firms

PurposeThis paper aims to present findings on outsourcing practices in small service firms in Iceland, where the prime focus is on knowledge-intensive service firms.Design/methodology/approachTo gain information on the scope and reason for outsourcing, telephone and online surveys were used. In total, 802 firms participated in the surveys, which were conducted in the period 2009-2018.FindingsThe results show that knowledge-intensive firms outsource far more than other service firms and are also more likely to have an outsourcing strategy. The grounds for increased outsourcing are cost reduction and strategic reasons, such as a focus on core competency and the search for external knowledge. In comparison with other firms, knowledge-intensive firms are increasingly outsourcing cleaning, security services, canteen and transportation, IT processes, human resource management, training and consulting. Additionally, managers of these firms select suppliers more on the basis of cost and quality. They also realize more cost savings as a consequence of outsourcing. Outsourcing had a very limited effect on employment in the firms, while cost reduction was achieved in 48.3 per cent of the firms involved.Research limitations/implicationsThe findings are in line with the resource-based theory and, interestingly, this is not limited to knowledge-based firms, but to a large portion of service firms as well.Originality/valueThis is the first in-depth study on outsourcing patterns in knowledge-intensive firms, which uses theoretical classification in empirical analysis.

METHODOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF CREATING A DIGITAL UNIVERSITY

Discusses the methodological concept of project management of transformation of domestic higher education institutions into digital universities is offered. The conceptual bases of the management of the IHE digitization projects are presented. The concept is based on a single digital space that includes: the digital environment, the tools for its formation, the tools for using the digital environment, the organizational foundations of digital transformation, the methodology of managing digitization projects. It has been shown that the success of the digital transformation of the IHE depends directly on the efficiency of the organization of the management of the digitization projects. This requires the development of a problem-oriented project management methodology. It has been established that none of the existing methodologies is suitable under the terms of IHE digitization projects. Areas of knowledge have been formed from the standpoint of forming and implementing the methodology for the projects of IHE digitization. Namely, change psychology management, implementation management, methodological maturity management, information environment management of IHE digitization projects, impact management. The result of the application of the concept of IHE digitization project management is the formation and implementation of a project management methodology that integrates tools, processes, knowledge of existing project management methodologies with the conditions of IT process implementation in the IHE. The organizational foundations of the digitization of higher education institutions are proposed, on the basis of which a project-oriented organizational structure - the office of digital transformation - is specific for such institutions. The structure and functions of such an office are defined. It is shown that its effective functioning is possible only when applying the management by the projects approach. The processes of higher education institutions from the standpoint of readiness to apply methodologies for managing digitization projects are investigated. Examples of digitization projects of the National Aviation University are given.

THE EFFECT OF INVOLVEMENT OF SENIOR MANAGEMENT AND CORPORATE COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS ON EFFECTIVE IT GOVERNANCE AND ORGANIZATIONAL PERFORMANCE

Recently, information technology governance has become a critical issue for many companies in various industries; this is even more important for enterprises due to the more complex business processes, more specified tasks and departments. Many companies suffer from extra costs of IT and other processes due to failure inefficient alignment between IT and business strategies which in turn, leads to low performance of the company. To overcome this problem, organizations need to have an effective ITG to make IT resources management more valuable, less substitute, rarer, and less imitable. To do so, firms need to use IT governance initiatives factors (Involvement of Senior Management in IT and Corporate Communication Systems) to increase their effectiveness and organizational performance. Thus, this paper is aimed to establish a framework, testing the role of Involvement of Senior Management in IT and Corporate Communication Systems on effective information technology governance (ITG) and organizational performance in the manufacturing companies; which should help managers to better understand how Involvement of Senior Management in IT and Corporate Communication Systems and effective ITG, impacts on organizational performance. 357 data were obtained from managers in the Malaysian manufacturing industry. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was used in this study to analyze the measurement and structural models simultaneously to test the role effect of ITG between information technology governance initiative factors (Involvement of Senior Management in IT and Corporate Communication Systems) and organizational performance. Limitations, implications, and suggestions for future studies were discussed.

Measurement of AI3, AI4, and DS4 IT Process Maturity Using the Cobit 4.1 Framework at KOMINFO Bantul

This research discusses the condition of information technology at KOMINFO (DISKOMINFO) Bantul governance. This study aims to discover where has KOMINFO applied information technology governance properly. This research focuses only on IT processes. Only the AI3 IT process discussed how to generate and maintain the IT infrastructure. AI4 IT process discussed how to enable and use the IT infrastructure, and the last is the DS4 IT process that discussed how to ensure sustainable services. A questionnaire, an interview with employees of KOMINFO Bantul, and documentation were utilized to collect data. Data processing results were used to determine the maturity level of information technology governance at KOMINFO Bantul. After knowing the maturity level of the IT processes, then it was analyzed to measure the alignment between the TKTI current condition with the TKTI condition equipped with the COBIT framework.

IT GOVERNANCE: MEASURE CAPABILITY LEVEL USING COBIT 5 FRAMEWORK

The measurement of IT Governance capability level becomes useful for companies in order to reduce and avoid the mistake and losses in IT management. This research aims to measure the capability level of IT Governance in Oil & Gas Company listed in Indonesia, in occasion at PT Energi Mega Persada Tbk (EMP), and support the IT governance that has not reached the EMP’s target. The data engaged directly from respondents achieved from the results of questionnaires, interviews and observations. COBIT 5 Framework developed to measure the capability level of process by using Process Assessment Model (PAM). The result found that the capability level of IT Governance measurement of 37 IT processes for all domains in EMP presently at level 3,3 or established level. It means that IT Governance based on COBIT 5 in EMP has been commonly documented, communicated and implemented by default and has standardized. This research is likely to assist company in realize the capability level of IT Governance presently matched to the target that the company wants to reach. In order to the enhancements can conduct to make IT Governance more effective, efficient, and able to support the achievement of company goals.

Impact of Information Technology on Human Resource Management Procurement Functions: A Case of A Nigerian University

Information Technology’s (IT) role in Human Resource Management (HRM) has attracted minimal interest and attention in the academia industry. The few empirical studies available did not examine the effect of IT on HRM on a comparative basis. Therefore, this study seeks to examine the nexus between IT and HRM procurement process in Nigerian Universities (education sector) with reference to the University of Ilorin. Other objectives are to:(i) examine the extent to which IT influences the HR procurement functions (ii) determine the nature of relationship that exist between/among IT tools and HR procurement functions. Questionnaire was served to the entire 50 members of the staff of the University HR department being census approach. Two hypotheses stated were tested using regression and correlation analysis. The findings revealed that IT has a significant effect on HR procurement functions and that IT tools and HR procurement functions are correlated. The study concludes that IT impacts strongly on HR Procurement activities. This study recommends that the management of Nigerian higher Institutions, inclusive of University of Ilorin, should consistently upgrade their HRIT software to cover a significant number of HR activities in line with the best HR practice as its long-term benefits exceed the pains of its initial cost.

In accordance with the topic, the industrial policies, dying industries, propulsive industries in making, occurring technologies will be evaluated that are characterized by AI as well as tendencies of the evolutionary character and digital Darwinism. The result of work should represent the whole model and partial models of industry of the future. IT and communication process (networking) create a symbiosis and that will be a necessity for functioning the organizational systems

Service Audit in Filling Annual tax Return Using The Cobit 5 Framework at Tabanan Primary Tax service Office

An application of information technology in a company is important in order to make the company better. The information technology can support the achievement of the company's strategic plan to be aligned with its vision, mission and goals. Tabanan Primary Tax Service Office is a company as the example of the application of information technology for this research. The application in that company needs to be regulated, therefore it can be put to good use. In regulating information technology, an audit is needed which aims to evaluate and ensure compliance with the objective approach of a standard. The service audit in filing annual tax returns by using the COBIT 5 framework at the Tabanan Primary Tax Service Office is a form of audit to find out the IT processes that exist in the office. This audit was conducted to determine the level of maturity of the existing IT processes in the service of filing annual tax returns, whether it has been used properly and optimally based on COBIT 5. The audit analysis process performed to obtain capability results, such as the DSS 02, DSS 03, DSS 05, and APO 12 domains. Recommendations and suggestions for improvement of the results obtained are done using the COBIT 5 standard.

Analisis Tata Kelola Teknologi Informasi Untuk Meningkatkan Mutu Sumber Daya Manusia Menggunakan Framework COBIT 5 (Studi Kasus: Politeknik Pariwisata Negeri Lombok)

Information technology governance is an integrated part of the organization's management that governs leadership, the organization's organizational structure of the processes that govern information technology is used optimally. Human resources are currently not managed properly, which has not met the needs of IT human resources in Central Lombok. To solve this problem, the writer implements IT Governance using the COBIT 5 framework in the Lombok State Polytechnic. This study will provide recommendations for the improvement of IT problems in the Poltekpar Negeri Lombok and can be used as a reference, especially in managing IT human resources and can improve the performance of the Poltekpar Lombok using IT processes EDM02 and APO08. The results of this analysis are the level of ability of IT Governance that reflects the conditions of IT governance in the Poltekpar Negeri Lombok. With improvements to the capability level provided by the COBIT 5 framework, from levels 1 to 5 at the EDM02 capability level, IT processes are at level 3.

A Qualitative Case Study Identifying Metrics for ITIL Request Fulfillment Process: Perspectives of an Information Technology Service Provider Group

Without metrics, the quality and effectiveness of the IT services cannot be measured or managed. This study examined the request fulfillment process of an IT service provider group, identified that group’s perceptions of the most important metrics of the process, and created dashboards to display those metrics. Results found 12 metrics perceived by the group as most important. Three dashboard pages were created using iDashboards. This study should be meaningful to a growing number of IT practitioners because it addressed metrics, measurements, and evaluation of IT processes on which very little previous empirical work has been conducted.

This study will provide recommendation for improvement of IT problems the exist in diskominfo West Lombok and cand be used as a reference, especially in the managed of IT human resources and can improve the performance of DISKOMINFO west Lombok. It Governance in News Company Using Cobit 5 Frameworks

The object of this research is PT KMN which is one of the largest media companies in Indonesia that focuses on reporting or providing the latest information on a national scale. The problem that occurs in this company is the difficulty of grouping complaints to the helpdesk and supporting divisions through the application and the success rate in returning data that does not reach 50% which makes all data that is backed up and carried out regularly becomes useless. The author conducted an audit on the Microsoft System Center 2012 R2 application to find out whether it was in accordance with business process procedures, data accuracy, and problem management. The author analyzes and chooses to use the COBIT 5 Framework in this study. The research methods carried out are interviews and direct observation in the part of the company concerned. The chosen domain is Deliver, Service and Support (DSS) which focuses on the IT process DSS01 had an average value of 2.6 and DSS02 had an average value of 2.43.

PERANCANGAN TATA KELOLA SISTEM INFORMASI MANAJEMEN RUMAH SAKIT (SIMRS) BERBASIS ITIL V3 & SERVICE DESK STANDART (STUDI KASUS : RSUD KOTA KEDIRI)

Minister of Health Regulation No. 82 of 2013 Chapter IV related to IT Governance recommends implementing IT governance for SIMRS. This study aims to design IT governance for SIMRS in The Kediri City Hospital. The design of IT governance is carried out after analyzing the gap of the current capability level with the target RSUD. The results of the IT governance design, 1 IT organizational structure, 11 IT processes, and 20 IT documents, were successfully created and approved by The Kediri City Hospital.

Comprehensive objective evaluation of IT process management based on COBIT and Balanced Scorecard

Given the role of IT processes to enable business processes and achieve organizational objectives and in order to achieve optimal results from information technology investments and avoid waste of resources and the elimination of added activities and processes in the field of information technologies that have not added value in achieving the goals of information technology, the need to determine and prioritize comprehensive goal management processes and information technology is evident. Methodology: In this regard, according to the alignment of goals with the objectives of comprehensive business processes and information technology, as well as balance the goals of information technology in all aspects of the organization will be of great importance. For this purpose in this article the COBIT and the Balanced Scorecard were used to set goals and to prioritize the importance of goals, of the survey was carried out among experts and consultants certified by Iranian ICT guild organization and Friedman test was used. Results: Finally, comprehensive objectives of IT processes management were ranked within four perspectives “corporate”, “customer”,” internal”, “learning and growth , and were used in a case study of a Internet service provider company as a part of the evaluation model. Conclusion: According to the results of this research, can be prioritize objectives in each fundamental perspective of information technology processes management and allocated the most attention and resources to it.

AUDIT TATA KELOLA SISTEM INFORMASI PENDAFTARAN SISWA MENGGUNAKAN COBIT 4.1 DI BLK SURAKARTA

The registration information system at the BLK Surakarta enables data redundancy. It will be analyzed to avoid this. The process of registering student services into the system is limited to the number of prospective students but input data is still unable to implement policies so that when data input still occurs or data from the same data or many data often occur. This study uses Cobit 4.1 to audit the registration information system available at the BLK Surakarta. The selected subdomain is the Delivery Subdomain and Support DS 10 and DS11, the purpose of which is to determine the maturity level value in the IT process that has been applied in the BLK Surakarta and provide recommendations that need to be corrected. Based on the maturity level statement in the Maturity Management Guidelines Control Framework. The resulting output is the study indicate that BLK Surakarta must conduct system performance evaluations that are routinely carried out with those responsible for identifying and tracking problems so that they are aware of the current system conditions. In Domain 10 of Delivery & Support, the results of the Current Maturity Level calculation are 3.27 with conditions Determining the Process. While Domain Deliver & Support 11, the result of calculation of Current Maturity Level is 3.31 with the Requirements for Determining the Process. The WHAT IF IT process

The WHAT IF IT process is a unique concept development methodology that has been designed to facilitate the ideation of digital interactive narratives. While the production of narrative driven digital artefacts has been developing fast in the last fifteen years, very little research has been done on ideation processes, and no academic methodological evaluation has been shared to date. By sharing the results of a three-years-action research project where existing storytelling, design thinking and agile prototyping techniques have been mixed to create an innovative methodology, the aim of this article is to formulate a framework for interactive narrative development
