Foreign investment as the beginning of the presence of westernization of American culture in Indonesia

Since 1967, foreign investment in Indonesia has led to the westernization of American culture among Indonesians. Westernization is a challenge for Indonesian people in terms of preserving their own culture. This study aimed to determine the impact of foreign investment as the beginning of the spread of the westernization of American culture in Indonesia. This study utilized descriptive qualitative methods with an analysis of literature studies that specifically discussed the impact of foreign investment as the beginning of the westernization of American culture in Indonesia. The results of this study indicate that the westernization of American culture occurs because of foreign investment in Indonesia so that Indonesian people adopt some of the culture brought by that country. This study finds that the cultural shift in Indonesian society is caused by the westernization of American culture among the people. This westernization is the result of Indonesia’s opening to foreign investment, which has brought their culture to Indonesia. As a result, cultural assimilation occurs, leading to a cultural shift through westernization, especially in urban communities.

Determinasi Pertumbuhan Ekonomi Indonesia dalam Sudut Pandang Moneter

Sustainable economic growth towards a better condition over a certain period is a goal that every developed and developing country wants to achieve, including Indonesia. Many indicators affect economic growth in Indonesia, such as investment, exchange rates and interest rates. This study aims to determine the effect of investment, exchange rates and interest rates on economic growth in Indonesia. The research method used in this research is time series data regression analysis and quantitative descriptive analysis supported by existing quantitative data. The results of this study indicate that investment has no effect on economic growth, while the exchange rate, and both exchange rates and interest rates affect economic growth. Investment has no effect on economic growth because Indonesia's investment is still only focused on the industrial and agricultural sectors so that it does not have a significant effect on economic growth. There is an influence between the exchange rate on Indonesia's economic growth due to the stability of the rupiah which is an indicator to show the strength of the Indonesian currency in front of the world.

As a developing country with abundant natural resources that can use a source of funds to advance its economy, it is in dire need of assistance from foreign investors, both in terms of funding and management technology. Indonesia must create a comfortable climate for foreign investors in attracting foreign investors. Because these foreign investors are pretty sensitive to legal and political stability issues and do not want to take risks, the government needs to make policies that make them willing and comfortable to invest their capital. In making these policies, it is inseparable from political members who sit in the state legislature. These legal policies must be able to accommodate the needs of the state for the welfare of its citizens and, on the one hand, must also be able to provide leniency for these foreign investors. Law and politics here very closely relate to influencing the arrival of foreign investors. Politics that have a position more independent from the law will determine the direction of policies and legal products taken. Law acts as a product of current politics.

Investment Effect on Wage System in Pancasila Industrial Relations based on Job Creation Law

Indonesian investment continues to develop as a result of globalization and the modernization of the company's operational activities. This is indicated by the large number of technologies used in the production and distribution processes of companies, both domestic companies, multinational companies, and foreign companies. Indonesia's investment ecosystem is not only focused on increasing foreign investment, but also focusing on increasing domestic investment. The Government of Indonesia issues these policies as contained in the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation (hereinafter as the Job Creation Law). This change in the investment ecosystem results in a wage system related to the company's operational activities that are effective and efficient or the number of products produced by the company. The investment and the wage system must be carried out like industrial relations based on the meaning of the precepts in Pancasila. In fact, Pancasila industrial relations are not applied properly and correctly in the relationship between employers and job recipients. This paper uses normative legal research methods using only secondary legal materials. The approach used in this paper is a legal approach and a conceptual approach. This research will produce findings about the investment ecosystem, the wage system, Pancasila industrial relations, articles of the Job Creation Law related to the topics raised in the research. This research will also produce a correlation between the investment ecosystem and the wage system within the framework of Pancasila industrial relations in accordance with the Job Creation Law.

INDONESIA’S CONTRIBUTION OF DISPATCH THE NATIONAL POLICE AS A PEACEKEEPING OPERATIONS IN THE CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC IN 2019

This study expects to depict and dissect the job of Indonesia's investment in MINUSCA in the 2019 period. Where, Indonesia is in the main ten as a shipper of Peacekeeping soldiers and police. Thus, in this study there is a research question in the form of "Why is Indonesia involved in the effort to send the Indonesian National Police as a peacekeeping force in the Central African Republic for the 2019 period?". As the main organization, the United Nations carries out its task of ending the divisions that occur in the Central African Republic by establishing a special peacekeeping mission. As one of its member countries, Indonesia contributes fully and actively in carrying out world peace missions as one of the sending countries for peacekeeping troops. In this study uses a descriptive qualitative method which aims to describe the phenomena regarding the role of the United Nations and Indonesia's contribution to the mission in the Central African Republic. By using literature-based and internet-based methods with regard to linking the problems studied. The results of this study indicate the relationship with the role of Indonesia as a sending country for peacekeepers analyzed with the concept of Humanitarian Intervention, as well as Indonesia's interests in its participation.

Perlindungan Hukum dan Pengenaan Pajak Bagi Investor Cryptocurrency di Indonesia

The significant increase in crypto investment in Indonesia is very high. This is indicated by the increase in crypto transactions, especially bitcoin and the increasing number of member investors in Indodax as one of the crypto transaction platforms in Indonesia. However, this increase is not supported by laws and regulations that can protect investors against their funds that have been deposited on a crypto transaction platform due to platform errors or due to fraud that is rampant in the cryptocurrency world. The fairly high increase in investment has also attracted the attention of the Indonesian government in collecting income taxes for investors in the crypto world which can increase the government's coffers of wealth destined for national development. However, there is also no regulation that regulates how much and how the income tax will be imposed. imposed on investors. So tthe problem arises as to how legal protection is for crypto currency investors in Indonesia and how income taxes can be imposed on crypto investors. The problem approach used in this research is the statutory approach, and the conceptual approach. Legal protection for CryptoCurrency investors is in the form of supervision from BAPPEBTI, supervision from the Investment Supervisory Task Force, security protection from crypto asset market managers and law protection form UU ITE. The imposition of crypto taxes can be imposed as well as the final share income tax, which is 0.1% of the gross amount of crypto asset sales transactions.

Sentiment Analysis On Hajj Fund Investment Allocation In Indonesia

This study was conducted to determine the sentiments of the Indonesian people, especially sharia economic experts, about their views on the allocation of Hajj financial investment. The method used in this research is a descriptive statistical analysis by conducting sentiment analysis using primary data from expert interviews. The data is then processed using the SentiStrenght application. The results show that the development of Hajj financial investment in Indonesia has a positive sentiment of 28%, a negative sentiment of 12%, and a neutral sentiment of 60%. Bank deposit is an alternative allocation that gets the best sentiment analysis results with a positive sentiment percentage of 50%, neutral 50%, and negative 0%. Meanwhile, the instrument with the lowest sentiment analysis result is Sukuk, with a positive sentiment percentage of 10%, neutral 70%, and negative 20%.

Trade-Environment Triangle in Indonesia: Ecological Footprint Approach

This study aims to analyze the relationship between the ecological footprint as a more comprehensive indicator of environmental degradation and economic growth and trade and investment in Indonesia from 1970 to 2017. It will also examine the existence of the Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) and the Pollution Haven Hypothesis (PHH) in a framework called the trade-environment triangle using Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) and error correction model (ECM). The estimation results show no inverse U-shaped relationship between environmental degradation and economic growth in Indonesia. The relationship between environmental degradation and FDI is not statistically significant, so it cannot be concluded that the existence of PHH and trade significantly increases environmental degradation in Indonesia. This research also formulates several policy implications for policy makers.

ANALISIS PENGARUH PEMBANGUNAN INFRASTRUKTUR TERHADAP PENANAMAN MODAL ASING LANGSUNG DI WILAYAH INDONESIA

Infrastructure is a reflection of a country in running its economy, if a country's infrastructure is weak, it can be ascertained that the economy running in that country is running inefficiently. The objectives of this study include (1) To find out road construction, development of information and telecommunications technology, and the number of transportation facilities will have a partial effect on FDI in every province of Indonesia. (2) To find out road construction, development of information technology and telecommunications, and the number of transportation facilities will have a simultaneous effect on PMA in every province of Indonesia. The data used is secondary data obtained from BPS, with a total of 5 years of observations. The analysis technique used is multiple linear analysis technique. The results show that (1) the number of roads has a positive and significant effect on foreign investment in Indonesia. (2) IP-TIK has a positive and significant effect on foreign investment in Indonesia. (3) The number of motorized vehicles has a positive and insignificant effect on foreign investment in Indonesia.

ANALISIS FAKTOR YANG MEMPENGARUHI INVESTASI ASING LANGSUNG DI INDONESIA PADA TAHUN 1989 - 2019

This research aims to find out the relationship between GDP, Labor, Exports and Exchange Rates to foreign direct investment in Indonesia from 1986 to 2019. Using time series data, data analysis techniques use the Error Correction Model (ECM) model, which is then followed by Eviews 10. The results of the analysis showed that the long-term calculation of GDP variables was not significant but had a positive effect, exports had a significant effect, while labor and exchange rates had a negative and insignificant effect. Furthermore, the results of short-term analysis, GDP and Exchange Rate variables are insignificant and negative value, while for Export and Labor variables are insignificant and positive value.

Determinants of Foreign Direct Investment in Indonesia

We examine what determines the flow of foreign direct investment (FDI) in Indonesia, focusing on the role of institutional measures. A knowledge-and-physical-capital (KPC) model is applied to a panel dataset that covers 42 of Indonesia’s FDI partners from 2004 to 2012. Evidence shows that both horizontal and vertical FDIs coexist in the bilateral aggregate data of Indonesia’s FDI flows, but horizontal FDI appears to be dominant. This can be explained by the market size (proxied by the total GDP of both countries and similarity in incomes per capita) and the relative factor endowments (proxied by skilled labor and physical capital). The vertical FDI, on the other hand, could be only explained by the significant effect of unskilled labor. Institutional factors, particularly corruption, are apparently important in affecting Indonesia’s bilateral FDI flows. The results also show that a higher FDI level in Indonesia positively correlates with macroeconomic factors, open policy factors, and utility infrastructure factors.

The impact of electricity investment on inter-regional economic development in Indonesia: An Inter-Regional Input-Output (IRIO) approach

Electricity is a development priority for low and middle income countries, including Indonesia, especially in the households living in suburban and rural areas. By 2020, Indonesia's electrification ratio has reached 96.71%. However, there were 433 villages that did not have electricity, most of which were located in eastern Indonesia (Papua, West Papua, East Nusa Tenggara, and Maluku). Investment in the electricity sector will drive regional economic growth. This research attempts to figure out the impact of investment in electricity on economy. This study used Indonesian inter-regional Input-Output data. The method used in this study was the Interregional Input-Output (IRIO) model. The analysis shows that electricity impacted not only the territory being built but also other regions in Indonesia. Electricity industry investment in Indonesia have been able to provide a multiplier effect on the economy as many as 3.11. Java region gets the greatest benefit from electricity development in Indonesia. This was rationally acceptable due to the fact that most of the industry was located in this region. This causes a development gap between Java and outside Java. It is necessary to accelerate reallocate several national strategic industries on various islands in Indonesia based on the advantages of each region and to strive for areas that are still "dark" to have electricity.JEL Classification E22; L94; R15

Recent Development in Spatial Planning after the Omnibuslaw Job Creation

The Omnibus Law on Job Creation has been ratified. This law is expected to increase investment in Indonesia. The question is, to what extent will this law impact spatial planning and ultimately on environmental management. For this reason, the texts of the old law and the new law are juxtaposed. The research method used is a comparison of legal texts, which is complemented by analysis of samples of various spatial maps and field visits. The findings of this study are as follows. The detailed spatial planning plan is now sufficiently regulated by a regent/mayor regulation. Approval from Regional Parliament (DPRD) is no longer required. The existence of a large-scale map of 1: 5000 is also no longer necessary. If Detailed Spatial Plan (RDTR) 1: 5000 is not yet available, the General Regional Spatial Plan (RTRW) 1: 50,000 map can also be used as a basis for licensing. Unfortunately, to shorten the process of determining the Spatial Plan, now the supervision of the Geospatial Information Agency is only voluntary, no longer mandatory. The sampling test on map samples and field visits showed that this change could result in space utilization errors and spatial violations due to map accuracy issues.

INFLUENCE OF SAVING AND ECONOMIC GROWTH ON INVESTMENT IN INDONESIA THE PERIOD OF 1990-2019

This study aims to analyze the effect of savings and economic growth on investment in Indonesia from 1990 to 2019. The data used in this study are secondary data for the period 1990 - 2019. This research uses the VECM (Vector Error Correction Model) for analyzing the data. The unit root test is carried out with the Augmented dickey fuller (ADF) test where all the variables are stationary on the second different. The results showed that, in short run and in the long run, saving have no effect on investment in Indonesia, meanwhile in the short run economic growth has no effect investment, but in long run economic growth has a positive and significant effect on the invesmant in Indonesia.

ESTABLISHMENT OF A SOVEREIGN WEALTH FUND THROUGH INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT INSTITUTION IN REALISING OPTIMISATION OF FOREIGN INVESTMENT

Investment can encourage the acceleration of a country's development. Foreign investment improve country's economy either with partial or complete control by the asset owner or depending on international agreements used in determining the scope of investment. However, several factors hinder the entry of foreign investment in Indonesia. To overcome this, government with parliament through Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation emphasise the legal politics of forming a quo law-oriented towards improving the investment climate in Indonesia, one of which is the establishment of the Indonesian Sovereign Wealth Fund (SWF) under the name Investment Management Institution or Lembaga Pengelola Investasi (LPI). The purpose of this study is to see how the government's political will in attracting foreign investment is through the establishment of Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation and the legitimacy of using the SWF model in the Investment Management Institute (LPI). This research uses a combination of juridical-normative and comparative case study methods. The juridical-normative method is carried out by identifying library materials. Through the comparative case study method, the research will analyse the formation and concept of SWF in India and Russia. This study found that, the LPI plays a vital role in infrastructure financing on national strategic projects and can encourage increasing national foreign exchange. Also, the exact source of institutional funds originates from foreign investors as in the Indian and Russian state mechanisms.

Analysis Of Foreign Debt and Foreign Investment On Economic Growth

This study examines the influence of foreign debt and foreign investment on economic growth in Indonesia from 2015 to 2020. The study was conducted with a quantitative approach. The research sample was conducted in 2 cities, namely, Malang and Jogjakarta with 200 respondents. Analysis tool using Structural Equation Modeling. The results of the study state that foreign debt has a positive and insignificant effect on economic growth in Indonesia, Foreign investment has a positive and significant impact on economic growth in Indonesia. The government needs to take steps to reduce foreign debt and try to increase investment in Indonesia so that development in Indonesia is more advanced. The government needs to increase foreign investment to support economic growth.

Determinants of Foreign Direct Investment in Indonesia

The objective of this research is to investigate the influence of macroeconomic factors such as market size, labor cost, interest rate, exchange rate, trade openness, and inflation to the foreign direct investment in Indonesia. This research uses a quantitative approach with time series data, quarterly from 2006 to 2019. The data is processed using SPSS Statistics 23 software, specifically linear regression analysis method and passed the classical assumption test. Results show that there is a partially significant relationship between market size, labor cost, interest rate, exchange rate, and trade openness to the foreign direct investment, meanwhile inflation does not significantly affect the foreign direct investment. These findings hopefully can help the government to make wiser policies to increase the foreign direct investment.
