PENGELOLAAN DANA MASJID DI KOTA AMBON (Studi Terhadap Fungsi Sosial Masjid An-Nur Batu Merah dan Masjid Al-Ukhuwah Kapaha)

This research aims to find out fund management of An-Nur in Batu Merah village and Al-Ukhuwah Kapaha Mosque and to find out the relation of fund management of An-Nur in Batu Merah village and Al-Ukhuwah Mosque in Kapaha, and social functions of both mosques. This type of research is field research with a case study approach qualitative. This research is focused on the case of mosque fund management, as a case study using a single instrument, because it is focused on one issue and analyzed holistically. Data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, documents, and audiovisual materials. This research will reveal important data and information from takmir informants, community members. The form of an interview is an open and unstructured interview. Data processing is done by checking the truth of the data, compiling the data, carrying out the coding (coding), classifying the data, correcting interview answers that are not clear. Data analysis was performed using qualitative analysis using the inductive method. The results of this study indicate that the practice of fund management at the An Nur Batu Merah Mosque and the Ukhuwah Kapaha Mosque in Ambon City still uses the old pattern, meaning infaq, almsgiving, zakat is the only source of income. Management is closed and is manual. Sources of ZIS funds come from residents or worshipers and the government. While the channeling of funds is intended for physical development only. This is because there is no single program launched by the management or takmir for the social benefit. The only social program carried out by the two mosques in the body service and recitation of mothers. As a result of the very low implementation of the social functions of the two mosques, it has an impact on the relationship between the management of funds and the social function that is inherent as the function of the in the time of the Prophet and his companions. This research has not found the relationship between fund management and social functions as appropriate, as a result of the lack of social programs carried out by the An Nur Batu Merah Mosque and the Ukhuwah Kapaha Mosque in Ambon City. An Analysis of Sentence-Like Utterances of IELTS Mock Speaking Test Scripts

The present study examines non-Malaysian candidates’ performance in an IELTS mock speaking test with regards to their use of different types of sentence structure utterances. Audio recorded data was obtained from eight students of three different levels of proficiency, namely; foundation, intermediate and advanced, in which thereafter an analysis was carried out using Radford (1990; 1997) sentence types. A semi-structured interview was also employed to gauge the candidates’ opinions on answering the test questions as well the interlocutor’s views on the candidates’ performance. The test was conducted by an IELTS trained interlocutor. It was found that most candidates were able to understand the questions, their responses were mainly simple sentence utterances indicated by many disjointed and choppy ideas. The semi-structured interview answers show that most candidates’ high level of nervousness and anxiety caused them not to be able to speak fluently, and as a result, their ideas were expressed in simple sentence structures that lacked logical coordination. It is hoped that the findings of the present study would help the current IETLS course module developers to integrate lessons on the different types of sentence structures in training test candidates to express complete and complex structured responses.

Use of anti-tick drugs in dairy farms in the microregion of Alfenas, Minas Gerais, Brazil

Ectoparasitic infestation in dairy cattle, the most common being Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus, causes significant loss in production. The control of ectoparasites often occurs incorrectly, resulting in resistance to the active ingredients and residues in milk. To understand of acaricide use in the microregion of Alfenas, Minas Gerais (Brazil), questionnaires were applied to the owners of 100 dairy farms in the region and were selected randomly. Dairy farms were allocated according to production scale: up to 150 liters/day, 151-400 liters/day and more than 400 liters/day. The interviewees were asked about production characteristics, acaricide management and active ingredients. The interview answers were subjected to descriptive analysis. Results showed that all properties, independent of production-scale, used acaricides. The most cited was: Cypermethrin Chlorpyrifos Citronellal (31%), Fluazuron (18.6%) and Fipronil (17%). Among the interviewed, 41,1% use drugs that have restrictions that are not allowed in legislation for use in lactating dairy cows (fluazuron, fipronil, ivermectin). 15% affirmed they weren't aware of the "withdrawal period" of medication and 73% change in the active ingredient used. In order to revert this antiparasitic drug's resistance situation and contamination of milk with drug residues, it is necessary to focus on the awareness of milk producers and training of labor.

An Identification of Conceptual and Procedural Understanding: Study on Preservice Secondary Mathematics Teacher

Preservice mathematics teachers (PSMTs) need to master teaching material besides pedagogical competence. This knowledge is a combination of conceptual and procedural knowledge. Teachers should possess the ability to explain a concept, the reason for the concepts used, and the relationship among several concepts clearly and effectively to identify why the concept is used. This study aimed to identify the conceptual and procedural knowledge of PSMTs in Linear Algebra courses. Data collection was carried out through tests and interviews. The interview was conducted with several participants to clarify their test answers. The participants' interview answers revealed that they had difficulty in choosing the proper concept answering modified questions. Also, the participants tried to answer the question using a procedural approach. According to the findings, it is vital to construct appropriate teaching materials appropriate for the learning objective and material map concept.

AWARENESS, KNOWLEDGE AND ATTITUDE ABOUT DENGUE AMONG SOCIETY

Objective: The survey about dengue was carried out to gather the information about dengue fever, create awareness among the people. To determined the index of knowledge, attitude and awareness among the surveyed population about dengue.
 Methods: The questionnaire was prepared under the guidance of a pharmacologist. Pilot study was conducted among ten nos. of the population prior actual study. Questionnaire was revised and finalized according to an input of the pilot study. This questionnaire presented to the hundred peoples of different age group. Method involves face to face interview and seeking answers for different questions. Responses were recorded for further analysis and interpretation. Responses were sorted and analyzed. Different questions were categorized into the domain of awareness, knowledge and attitude. Data was presented in the form of graphs.
 Results: Percentage of awareness, knowledge and attitude found to be 59, 44, 52 respectively. It is observed that three parameters are almost in the range of fifty percent. Precautions plays vital role in prevention of Dengue.
 Conclusion: it is concluded that there is scope for improvement for creating awareness, knowledge and attitude among the surveyed population as representative of the general population. This may help to overcome the risk of this communicable and deadly disease.

Impact of Learning Content on Secondary Students’ Motivation to Learn English In Lebanese Public Schools: Three Case Studies

Purpose: The aim of this research is to investigate the effect of “the learning content” on “students’ motivation” in learning English as a foreign language. Approach/Methodology/Design: A mixed-method design was employed in this study to explore the correlation between the two variables from the perspective of teachers and students. The sample included three secondary public schools in the region of Mount Lebanon. Six classes were examined in each school. Qualitative data was obtained from the interview answers of 18 grade eleven English teachers and 18 one-session class observations in the three schools. Quantitative data was obtained from questionnaires of 355 grade eleven students in the three schools. Findings: Interviews and observations’ content analysis indicated that students show a high level of motivation when they perceive the content as interesting, relevant, and beneficial. Surveys’ SPSS analysis revealed the existence of a strong positive significant correlation between the learning content and students’ motivation. Practical Implications: The study investigates the effect of one of the repeatedly mentioned factors of students’ motivation and demotivation in learning English as a foreign language “the learning content”. Originality/value: It is recommended for teachers and educators to adjust the learning content according to students’ needs and interests in order to create chances of success and achievement for students, build students’ competence, relate students to their society, and allow technology integration.

A Study on the Teaching of Practical English Writing in Senior High School From the Perspective of Memetics

Nowadays, foreign researches on memes mainly focus on linguistics and pragmatics, while China has gradually begun to explore the relationship between memetics and teaching, but it has not yet attracted too much attention. Therefore, this study will explore the internal relationship between memetics and English writing teaching. The main content of memetics is memes, which refers to “something to be imitated” (Dawkins, 1976). Its main feature is imitation and replication. In foreign language teaching and learning, imitation and reproduction are inevitable. In other words, language learning is to learn from imitation and to accumulate materials in order to gradually reach the level of innovation. The study was carried out in senior high school in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province. There are 106 students in it regraded as participants in this experiment sustaining four months. The research is designed to solve these two issues: (1) Can English practical writing based on memetics improve senior high school students’ writing performance? If so, to what extent? (2) Have students’ attitudes towards English writing changed before and after the memetics based on English practical writing experiment? What are the specific aspects? On the basis of the collected data in this study, SPSS 22.0 will be applied to analyze the results of tests and questionnaires. In line with the results, some conclusions are reached as it follows: (1) By the analysis of the results of tests, English practical writing teaching with memetics can obviously improve students’ writing proficiency. (2) According to the answers of interview and the results of questionnaires, the conclusion can be drawn that after the four-month experiment, students’ attitudes changes a lot.

This study aims to obtain teacher perceptions about the impact of the implementation of the Learning from Home policy according to a circular from the Minister of Education and Culture dated March 24, 2020, which regulates the implementation of education during the coronavirus spread. The research method uses exploratory case studies, the research approach uses qualitative case study methods which are used to obtain information about the effectiveness of the learning process from home during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research was conducted in June 2020. Respondents of this study were 20 elementary school teachers spread across five districts in North Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara. Respondents were drawn from each elementary school teacher spread over five districts. The data of this study were sourced from the results of questionnaire and interview answers developed based on a review of relevant literature. All respondents filled out a research questionnaire online through the Google forms application, then the questionnaire was confirmed via telephone interview. The results of this study conclude that learning policies from home during the Covid-19 pandemic period according to teacher perceptions have not been implemented well and according to teacher observations, only 25% of students actually carry out learning from home. As many as 60% of teachers feel that their burden becomes heavier when compared to the learning process that has been carried out in classi fi cation or face-to-face and 65% of teachers state that they need additional skills to be able to carry out the learning process from home.

Sustainable public health partnerships: Results from 41 European, Asian and American regions

Abstract Background Public health problems often constitute so called “wicked problems”, and the importance of involving multiple stakeholders in order to address such problems is acknowledged, for instance through the SDG17 guidelines. Partnerships between academia and the public sector have been deemed especially promising. However, sustainable partnerships might be difficult due to divergent understandings and interests. Although there is a substantial research literature on academic-public partnerships in general, partnerships addressing public health specifically are less investigated. The aim of the project was therefore to identify enablers for sustainable public health partnerships between academia and the public sector. Methods A mixed methods design was used. A survey regarding partnerships was sent to 41 European, Asian and American regions, with a response rate of 72 %. Based on survey data, an interview guide was developed and four best cases (Canada, Bulgaria, the Netherlands and Norway) were identified. Site visits and group interviews with representatives from stakeholders of the partnerships were conducted. Interview data and answers to open ended questions from questionnaires were analysed. Results Three main findings became apparent through the analysis. Important enablers were: 1) person-to-person fit between individuals, 2) national incentive schemes for collaboration, and 3) formal partnership agreements that provided a framework that allowed for manoeuvring. The enablers identified are on a macro, miso and micro level. Furthermore, they can be categorised as political, organisational, and social. Conclusions The data support the notion that partnerships are complex social structures that need to be initiated and managed on different levels and with different measures. At the same time, data demonstrate that across different geographical, political, and social contexts the same enablers are reappearing as important for sustaining public health partnerships. Key messages Similar enablers for sustaining public health partnerships are found across geographical, political, and social contexts. Important enablers for partnerships are person-to-person fit, national incentive schemes, and formal agreements.

Exploring Host Community Perception of Panchor Town for Tourist Destination based on Social Exchange Theory

This paper explores the significance of a rural region, the village of Panchor, as a potential nature tourism site located in Johor district of Muar, Malaysia. The study's objectives were (1) evaluating local community funding, and (2) evaluating the participation of local government. Three overlapping topics were explored based on qualitative interpretation of an interview and open-ended answers in the questionnaire: (1) group connection, (2) economic benefits, and (3) environmental attitude. The findings revealed that river-based tourism could improve the socio-economic status and the sustainability of rural areas. Community nurses and chronic disease in Israel: Professional dominance as a social justice issue.

Chronic diseases are major causes of health inequalities. Community nurses can potentially make large contributions to chronic illness prevention and management in Israel but may be obstructed by professional dominance of physicians. However, insufficient research exists about community nursing in Israel, and how it may differ from other countries. This study aims to document chronic disease-related community nursing roles in Israel, identify changes and trends in community nursing roles that may increase social justice, and understand how the roles and trends in community health nursing in Israel may differ from developments in other countries. In-depth interviews were performed with 55 Israeli health system professionals, and 692 nurse care-givers were asked open-ended questions. Interview answers were analyzed to find themes and trends. The study found that community nurse roles in Israel have expanded, especially for chronic disease control. Commonalities exist with countries such as the United States and the UK, albeit with important differences. However, continued conflicts with physicians exist, which can limit nurses' contributions to reducing health inequalities. Community nurses' importance is growing. Enabling them to overcome professional dominance and improve chronic disease control can help reduce health inequalities in Israel and elsewhere.

Anisakiasis: The Importance of Prevention and the Role of Diet Therapy in Allergic Patients

Introduction: Anisakiasis is a zoonosis of parasitic origin whose diffusion seems to be continuously increasing. Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the benefits of a fish-free diet in patients allergic to Anisakis simplex as well as underlining the importance of awareness and prevention. Furthermore, we aimed to investigate the critical issues related to the spread of anisakiasis in relation to eating habits. Methods: Patients were assessed by means of skin prick tests (SPTs) and targeted laboratory testing, with an 18-month-long fish-free diet being recommended in cases of severe sensitization. The degree of awareness about anisakiasis was evaluated from interviews. Patients were subjected to follow-up visits after 18 months. Results: A total of 70 cases of sensitization to A. simplex were evaluated. The Interview answers highlighted a general state of misinformation among patients and healthy subjects along with a remarkable underestimation of anisakiasis-related risks. An overall lack of care regarding eating habits and diet plans also emerged. In 21 patients affected by severe sensitization, clinical and laboratory evaluations were repeated after 18 months of the subjects being on a fish-free diet. There was a remarkable improvement in serum IgE levels and clinical symptoms. Conclusion: Data analysis proved the need to implement new and more effective awareness-raising and prevention campaigns in order to reduce the incidence of anisakiasis. It is crucial to establish an adequate diet therapy for sensitized patients. Evaluation of cytokine patterns suggests how a polyphenol-rich regime can activate regulatory T cell function and possibly reduce the allergic and inflammatory components of the disease.

Low back pain--correspondence between questionnaire, interview and clinical examination

The aim of this study was to analyse the correspondence between answers to a questionnaire about trouble from the musculoskeletal system, answers in a personal interview and clinical findings indicating low back disorder. The questionnaire was answered by 1,773 construction workers. Out of those, 206 workers underwent interview and clinical examination. Among those who reported no lifetime LBT in the questionnaire 63% gave the same report in the personal interview and those were all assessed negative at a blind clinical examination. Of those reporting current LBT in the interview 80% (47/59) were clinically positive. The clinical criteria used in the examination seemed to indicate lumbar painful structures. Answers to a question about functional impairment were in conformity with clinical findings. As regards answers to a question about frequency of pain and a question, in the specific Nordic questionnaire for the low back, concerning inability to do normal work the correlation to clinical findings was less apparent. Reported inability to do normal work in the questionnaire corresponded only to 43% with reported sick-leave in the interview.

Assessment of Tobacco Exposure During Pregnancy by Meconium Analysis and Maternal Interview.

Smoking during pregnancy can have serious obstetric and fetal complications. Therefore, it is essential to identify in utero exposure to tobacco, being meconium the matrix of choice for this purpose. Meconium (n=565) was analyzed for nicotine, cotinine and hydroxycotinine by LC-MS-MS. Then, tobacco meconium results were compared with smoking habits during pregnancy and neonatal outcomes measures (birth weight, length, head circumference, gestational age and Apgar scores). Although meconium analysis increased identification of in-utero exposure to tobacco (17.7% meconium positive specimens vs 13.5% mothers admitting tobacco use during pregnancy), there was a statistically significant relationship between meconium results and interview answers (P<0.001). Birth weight was significantly lower for newborns with meconium positive results in males (P=0.023) and females (P=0.001), while for length significance was only observed in females (P=0.001); however, when excluding meconium specimens positive for other drugs, a statistically significant difference was only found for female weight (P=0.045). Meconium analysis proved to be more reliable for tobacco prenatal exposure detection than maternal interview. In addition, positive meconium results increased the probability for low birth weight, especially in females.

Predicting Personality Using Answers to Open-Ended Interview Questions

One's personality is widely accepted as an indicator of job performance, job satisfaction and tenure intention. The ability to measure an applicant's personality in the selection process helps recruiters, hiring managers and the applicant make better hiring decisions. Our work shows that textual content of answers to standard interview questions related to past behaviour and situational judgement can be used to reliably infer personality traits. We used data from over 46,000 job applicants who completed an online chat interview that also included a personality questionnaire based on the six-factor HEXACO personality model to self-rate their personality. Using natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning methods we built a regression model to infer HEXACO trait values from textual content. We compared the performance of five different text representation methods and found that term frequency-inverse document frequency (TF-IDF) with Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) topics performed the best with an average correlation of r = 0.39. As a comparison, a large study of Facebook messages based inference of Big 5 personality found an average correlation of r = 0.35 and IBM's Personality Insights service built using twitter text data reports an average correlation of r = 0.31. We further validated our model with a group of 117 volunteers who used an agreement scale of yes/no/maybe to rate the individual trait descriptors generated based on the model outcomes. On average, 87.83% of the participants agreed with the personality description given for each of the six traits. The ability of algorithms to objectively infer a candidate's personality using only the textual content of interview answers presents significant opportunities to remove the subjective biases involved in human interviewer judgement of candidate personality.

Does Equine Assisted Learning Create Emotionally Safe Learning Environments for At-Risk Youth?

Equine assisted learning (EAL) is a form of experiential learning that is quickly growing in interest within the educational community. A challenge with experiential learning programs for at-risk youth is creating an emotionally safe environment that opens up the participants to learning. Nevertheless, EAL has been credited with the development of life skills in youth that promote educational achievement, but research tracking the development of emotional safety and learning, specifically associated with programming dedicated to educating participants about the horse, is limited. Therefore, the objective of this study was to determine if EAL, with programming centered around equine education, will promote emotional safety and learning in at-risk youth. Youth labeled as at-risk participated in a 4-week EAL session focused on teaching participants horse behavior, management, handling, and riding, while incorporating the 4 themes of emotional safety (self-esteem, personal security, respect, and connectivity). To determine participant learning of the equine topics covered, a pre- and post-program test was given to each participant. Acquirement of the themes of emotional safety was tracked for each participant using weekly debriefing interviews. While this was the first time to perform this assessment protocol for evaluating learning and emotional safety in at-risk youth, the completion rate for both forms of assessment utilized in this study was 100%. Evaluation of debriefing interview answers and test scores from the equine knowledge questions showed improvement by the end of the session in both equine knowledge and emotional safety, particularly as it relates to personal security. These results suggest EAL, with programming directed towards educating the participant about the horse, promotes emotional safety and learning for at-risk youth.

The implementation and adoptability of behavioral skills training in a university career center

We evaluated the extent to which staff at a university career center (a) already used, (b) could be taught to use, and (c) might continue to use behavioral skills training (BST) when teaching interview answers to college students. We used a nonconcurrent multiple baseline design across three staff‐student dyads to assess the extent to which staff implemented BST and students provided appropriate answers before and after training. Results showed that interview training at the career center typically consisted of few BST steps, but staff could be taught on how to implement BST. All staff rated BST as an acceptable and effective form of interview training, but only one indicated that he or she was likely to adopt BST at the career center.

What does ‘y is defined as an implicit function of x’ mean?: An application of APOS-ACE

Implicit functions is a basic and important topic in calculus and yet very little research has been done on students’ understanding of this notion. In a previous study we had documented students’ misconceptions and lack of understanding, and proposed a conjecture of mental constructions (called a genetic decomposition; GD) students may do in order to understand this topic. In the present study the proposed GD is tested with student interviews and refined. The study starts by using semi-structured interviews of fourteen students who had just finished a traditional one-variable calculus course, further exploring students’ understanding of implicit functions. Then using the GD, a cycle of Activities on computer, Classroom discussion, and Exercises (ACE cycle) was designed and implemented to help students do mental constructions found to be lacking. Finally, the fourteen students were again interviewed after they participated in the activities of the ACE cycle. The students’ answers in the second interview revealed that their understanding of implicit functions had improved. The results of this article are of practical importance as they underscore that activities based on a GD have the potential of improving student understanding of implicit functions. Further, the study also suggested refinements to the genetic decomposition for implicit functions.
