Most interpolators used in CNC systems of machine tools are based on the DDA principle. Most of such devices provide linear and circular interpolation with constant path velocity. The use of microprocessors in recent CNC systems has rendered it possible to implement more sophisticated interpolation features, such as modified path generation for high feed rate or adaptive control; variable path velocity; control of several linear or rotating axes with variable velocity rate. Algorithms of solving such new interpolation tasks are offered in the paper.
