A technique for registering and transferring centric relation at a clinically determined vertical relation from the mouth to the articulator has been described. Certain clinical applications of this technique have been presented. The principal advantages are: 1. 1. The vertical dimension is determined clinically according to the amount of interocclusal distance that is required by the patient. The vertical dimension will remain unaltered on the articulator during the fabrication of the prosthesis. 2. 2. Centric relation as determined at the correct vertical dimension is recorded by means of a plaster interocclusal record. This procedure avoids the possibility of error which is present in techniques in which the patient is asked to close the teeth into an interocclusal wax record.
