An Interdisciplinary Analysis Focused on Social Sciences: A Literature Review

This literature paper summarizes five studies conducted by Mehrad et al. in 2024. These studies integrate cutting-edge findings from reverse logistics, sustainable operations, educational psychology, and qualitative analysis based on artificial intelligence (AI). The framework addresses current issues impacting business, education, and technology. The aim of this paper is to show a combination of different approaches in one study and its efficiency. According to these five studies, implementing sustainability, engaging stakeholders, and developing localized strategies are crucial for organizations like e-commerce platforms. These strategies help meet legal and cultural requirements while enhancing organizational effectiveness and environmental responsibility. Besides using these ideas in the educational domain, approaches from psychological science emphasize the importance of interventions to succeed and develop holistically. Combining Executive Function skills, Emotional Health, and Motivation leads to improved learning outcomes and fairness in the teaching-learning process. Generally, this multidisciplinary literature review offers practical guidance for businesses, educational institutions, and policymakers by thematically connecting sustainability, artificial intelligence, and psychological perspectives. These recommendations, rooted in resilience, innovation, and equity, aim to inspire and motivate better practices across various organizational and societal contexts. In addition, this study motivates all scholars to widen the view of their investigations and have global research connections to provide better knowledge for current and future scholars, which will happen by designing accurate study and teaching structures. And in fact, it is a kind of innovation in the research industry.

Political Governance and Economic Growth: Institutional Analysis of Russian Experience

Dependence of the economic system efficiency on the quality of managerial (political) decision-making, institutional environment of national economy developed on their basis, the level of economic plan implementation and the degree of economic system readiness to function in conditions of external challenges was demonstrated by interdisciplinary analysis. The period from 2018 to 2024 was analyzed, which is explained by the political process being realized in Russia, the fixed six-year cycle of strategic planning and exogenous factors arose within this period of time that influenced seriously the efficiency of national economy. The article carried out retrospective analysis of the most important factors of Russian political system transformation, which affected the content of institutional environment of national economy and hence, the trend and intensity of economic development, which, according to the author, could help find mutual dependence of economic development and political transformation in society, rise trustworthiness of institutional analysis of Russian society and economic policy elaborated on its foundation. The author analyzed the impact on the national economy dynamics on the part of the essential (program) documents identifying trends, goals and objectives of the social and economic development of Russian society introduced into the structure of national economy institutional environment within the period being studied and found the reasons for their inadequate implementation. The article investigates the standing of national economy stipulated by technological dependence of the industrial sector on economy of unfriendly states, which deteriorated after 2022. It was shown that political decisions aimed at overcoming technological dependence and providing technological sovereignty of Russia could not reach the desired result. Some reasons for their improper execution have been identified. A conclusion was drawn about necessary modernization of national economy institutional environment in the direction of cutting departmental and municipal rule-making in the field of economic development and elaboration on the basis of inter-disciplinary institutional analysis of the Strategy of Social and Economic Development of the Russian Federation for the long-term perspective as a unique economic plan.

The study provides an interdisciplinary analysis of the philosophy of compromise and the mechanisms of its resolution using the example of the relationship between the indigenous peoples of the United States and the American government. The paper traces the history of early interactions between Europeans and North American indigenous peoples, which were initially partnerships. However, as the number of colonists increased and the demand for land grew, disputes escalated. Fearing the outbreak of larger-scale conflicts that could escalate into open warfare, the US government attempted to negotiate with the various tribes, often resulting in the signing of treaties. The author examines the evolution of the US government’s policy, which, over time, shifted from a trade and alliance relationship to abusive and hypocritical actions aimed at taking land from indigenous peoples. Although the treaties formally recognized the sovereignty of the tribes, in reality they served as tools for the colonizers to take over their lands. These documents defined boundaries and land use rights, and also obliged the Indians to support the US military. Many of these agreements were made under pressure, leading to numerous negative consequences for indigenous peoples, including the loss of lands, resources and forced attempts to assimilate to European norms, resulting in acts of genocide in the long term. To this day, many of these treaties remain in force, and contemporary Native American communities continue to struggle to comply with their provisions. These treaties form the basis of numerous claims to land rights, hunting, fishing and access to natural resources. These documents are also a testament to the philosophy of life of indigenous communities. Nowadays, thanks to increased legal awareness, Native Americans consistently remind the government of the need to respect these treaties, which were often not the result of negotiation but imposed conditions that indigenous peoples had to agree to in order to survive.

Technical Study and Re-treatment of a Renaissance Statue of Mars Forming Part of the Decoration of the Bučovice Château in Southern Moravia

ABSTRACT This article presents the results of the examination and restoration treatment of the stucco decoration of a lunette with the sculpture of Mars located in the Bučovice Château in southern Moravia. The sculptural decoration of the Château represents one of the pinnacles of Renaissance stucco art north of the Alps in the second half of the sixteenth century. A unique combination of materials and techniques was used in its creation. The figure of Mars is based on a re-purposed terracotta statue, finished with stucco, polychrome painting, gilding, and coloured glass inlays. The aim of the current restoration was to reduce an inconsiderate intervention from the 1950s and restore the original to an earlier historical form that corresponds to the artistic conception of the neighbouring statues and the rest of the decoration of the chamber. The restoration was based on an interdisciplinary analysis of the statue's original technique, material composition, and surface finishes, including gilding and glass inlays. A complex examination was undertaken as part of the larger project ‘Renaissance and Mannerist Stucco Art in Bohemia and Moravia.’ The intervention involved testing conservation methods, such as consolidating the ground layer, cleaning, removing overpaint and secondary gilding, and reintegrating missing terracotta parts and surface finishes. The choice of the method for retouching the gilded areas was of particular importance because it allowed the possibility to preserve the existing fragments of gilding and, at the same time, visually connect them as a whole.

Ancient DNA reveals reproductive barrier despite shared Avar-period culture.

After a long-distance migration, Avars with Eastern Asian ancestry arrived in Eastern Central Europe in 567 to 568 CE and encountered groups with very different European ancestry1,2. We used ancient genome-wide data of 722 individuals and fine-grained interdisciplinary analysis of large seventh- to eighth-century CE neighbouring cemeteries south of Vienna (Austria) to address the centuries-long impact of this encounter1,2. We found that even 200 years after immigration, the ancestry at one site (Leobersdorf) remained dominantly East Asian-like, whereas the other site (Mödling) shows local, European-like ancestry. These two nearby sites show little biological relatedness, despite sharing a distinctive late-Avar culture3,4. We reconstructed six-generation pedigrees at both sites including up to 450 closely related individuals, allowing per-generation demographic profiling of the communities. Despite different ancestry, these pedigrees together with large networks of distant relatedness show absence of consanguinity, patrilineal pattern with female exogamy, multiple reproductive partnerships (for example, levirate) and direct correlation of biological connectivity with archaeological markers of social status. The generation-long genetic barrier was maintained by systematically choosing partners with similar ancestry from other sites in the Avar realm. Leobersdorf had more biological connections with the Avar heartlands than with Mödling, which is instead linked to another site from the Vienna Basin with European-like ancestry. Mobility between sites was mostly due to female exogamy pointing to different marriage networks as the main driver of the maintenance of the genetic barrier.

Spiritual and Creative Nature of the Human Being: Interdisciplinary Analysis

The analysis of the spiritual and creative nature of a person in the context of an interdisciplinary approach has made it possible to reach conclusions about the paradigm of the integrity of modern science, which, in the context of the theory of knowledge, is realized in the context of «truth as the unity of opposites». A conclusion is made about creative activity as a process of building the wholistic entities, which is aimed at achieving a state of non-duality in the form of a collision of polar things and bringing them to a common functional «denominator» as a neutral-indeterminate entity. Under such conditions, a creative person is characterized by the ability to paradoxical thinking, opennes to uncertainty, paradox, and absurdity. The functional aspect of the hemispheres of the human brain and its interdisciplinary extrapolations are considered, the neuropsychological and spiritual aspects of creativity are analyzed, which enables to clarify the nature of the soul and the spiritual aspects of a person, to draw a conclusion about the godlikeness of a creative person. Psychological-pedagogical and psychotherapeutic methods of human harmonization and the development of the ability to resist manipulation are outlined, among which the methods of paradoxical intention, openness to the world, role-based activity, and controlled madness are analyzed. It is concluded that the spiritual and creative nature of a person reveals a neutral-zero state regarding the integration of the «right» and «left» functions of a person, which at the neuropsychological level is realized in the functions of the right and left hemispheres of the brain. A universal human harmonization algorithm is formulated, which outlines the methods of achieving the specified state on various psychophysiological and spiritual-mental «floors» of a person. In this neutral state, which balances opposite modes, a person is open to opposites, has access to both emotions and the operations of logic, and is in a state of absolute health.

Economization of Self: Constructing a Female Neoliberal Subject in Eílís Ní Dhuibhne’s Fox, Swallow, Scarecrow

The paper focuses on the interdisciplinary textual analysis of Eílís Ní Dhuibhne’s Fox, Swallow, Scarecrow which addresses the complex human condition under the absolute reign of capitalism in the context of the Irish transition toward a neoliberal state. By relying on new economic criticism, the paper argues that this novel represents some of the silenced and, at the same time, most destructive aspects of the Irish iteration of neoliberal capitalism and its predominantly fictional character in the 21st century. By zooming in on the protagonists’ constant search for self-actualization amid the Irish economic and real-estate boom, the narrative reveals the confusion and desire inherent in the neoliberal state of mind which thrives on constant striving for materialistic self-fulfilment. Although the neoliberal paradigm introduced into the Irish public discourse the belief that women are finally in a position to realize themselves as active subjects and to enjoy benefits they had been denied in the past, this process is presented here as incomplete. Namely, the paper shows that at the height of Irish economic prosperity, within the short-lived and superficial social idyll, the characters live in a new form of capitalist colonialism in which they still encounter strong, albeit radically shaken social taboos such as class differences, poverty, extramarital affairs and women’s financial dependency in a marriage. The paper argues that the female neoliberal subject ultimately fails to adhere to the neoliberal paradigm on her journey toward self-assertion. She creates her own counter-space through her attempts to balance her intimate desires with the expectations placed on her as a wife and a mother. Threatened by unforgiving societal pressures, constructed counter-space critiques the neoliberal expectations of self-empowerment, but also challenges the patriarchal structures and traditional roles still imposed on women in modern Ireland.

This scholarly examination explores the critical role of religious organizations in providing trauma support and facilitating healing within gun violence prevention initiatives. Through a rigorous, interdisciplinary analysis of diverse faith-based approaches, the research investigates how religious institutions strategically leverage their distinctive theological frameworks and deeply rooted community connections to address trauma resulting from gun violence. The study conducts an in-depth exploration of successful trauma-informed religious counseling programs, examining innovative interfaith collaboration models and healing practices that synthesize spiritual wisdom with contemporary therapeutic methodologies. Critically, our research unveils the nuanced advantages religious organizations possess in trauma support, demonstrating their capacity to integrate spiritual guidance with evidence-based mental health interventies. Empirical findings reveal that faith-based trauma interventions consistently achieve higher community engagement and more sustainable outcomes compared to secular alternatives, while simultaneously illuminating the complex challenges inherent in this emerging interdisciplinary field. This research contributes significant scholarly insights into faith-based trauma intervention strategies, offering a comprehensive framework for understanding how religious organizations can enhance comprehensive gun violence prevention efforts and improve trauma support services across diverse community contexts.

Evolutionary Features, Content Characteristics, and Inheritance Strategies: A Study on Nanfeng Nuo Dance

Nanfeng Nuo Dance is a traditional folk dance originating from ancient Chinese sacrificial rituals, specifically from Nanfeng county in Jiangxi province, China. This study aims to examine the evolutionary features, content characteristics, and inheritance situation of Nanfeng Nuo Dance. Through literature review, field research, and interdisciplinary analysis, this research explores the evolutionary features and content characteristics of Nanfeng Nuo Dance, while proposing strategies for its inheritance and development. The findings indicate that the evolutionary trajectory of Nanfeng Nuo Dance has transformed from a witchcraft ceremony into a form of cultural heritage, with each phase displaying distinct evolutionary features. In terms of content characteristics, the dance is primarily characterized by the expression of primitive desires, diverse deity worship, and unique local belief legends. However, regarding its inheritance, Nanfeng Nuo Dance faces challenges such as the deterioration of its cultural ecosystem, a shortage of successors, insufficient funding, and inadequate institutional support. The study suggests that to ensure the sustainable transmission of Nanfeng Nuo Dance, it is crucial to foster a supportive cultural ecosystem, cultivate inheritors, increase investment, and improve policies. In practical terms, the research proposes the establishment of a Nuo Dance Learning Center focused on education, performance, exhibition, and academic exchange. These measures aim to create new avenues for the protection and transmission of Nanfeng Nuo Dance, ensuring that its unique charm continues to thrive in contemporary society.

Assessing Temperature Change Impact in the Wake of Ongoing Land Use Change: A Case Study at Lake Dianshan

Climate change exerts both direct and indirect influences on the eutrophication of surface water ecosystems in various ways. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of temperature fluctuations on trophic levels through various interdisciplinary coupling analysis methods after land use change, which including water and sediment sample analysis, hydraulic model, remote sensing, and historic data analysis. For the historical analysis, six satellite images of Lake Dianshan were examined to assess algal bloom occurrences and the coverage of Eichhornia crassipes from 2013 to 2023. The correlation between trophic indicators and temperature was analyzed using statistical methods. For the monthly analysis, a total of 27 sediment samples and 54 water samples collected from Lake Dianshan were assessed to determine how seasonal temperature variations influence eutrophication status. The trophic indicators have higher concentration at inlet sampling sites compared to outlet sites, which validated the potential external pollution source. The trophic level of Lake Dianshan is influenced not only by climate change but also significantly by urban human activities. The management of eutrophication has substantially improved the water quality of Lake Dianshan over the past few decades. Furthermore, increasing temperatures demonstrate a positive correlation with the proliferation of cyanobacteria, particularly in urban areas.

Interrogating access: a critical disability studies approach to information practices research

PurposeThis paper aims to explore the relevance of theoretical developments from critical disability studies to information practices scholarship, particularly that which is attuned to how systems of power and inequality create barriers to information. More specifically, this paper aims to interrogate the solutionist ethos that underlies the narrow focus on information access within research concerning information practices and marginalization.Design/methodology/approachThe paper follows a critical interpretation synthesis (CIS) review format, which aligns with the overarching interpretivist research objectives. The CIS review method opens up modes of interdisciplinary analysis that question dominant narratives and assumptions within the literature. In the paper, several concepts from critical disability studies are discussed due to their relevance to key concerns of information practices research. These include the political/relational model of disability, bodymind and crip politics. The theoretical framework of political/relational information access outlined in this paper connects and draws comparisons between the above concepts.FindingsThe paper develops the political/relational model of information access, which interrogates dominant narratives that situate information as a resolve for marginalization. Extending insights from critical disability studies and activism, the framework underscores how access to information and information more broadly are sites of collective contestation that are constantly in flux. Political/relational information access situates information and access as political and relational entities through which to collectively refuse the hierarchies of value and normalizing logics attached to them.Originality/valueThe connections between critical disability studies and information practices research have been previously underexplored. The literature review develops the political/relational model of information access, which extends insights from critical disability studies to the growing areas of critical inquiry within information practices scholarship and library and information science research more broadly.

An Interdisciplinary Analysis of the Late Islamic Cemeteries Within the Cathedral (15th–18th Century CE) and the Ruins of Adulis (Mid-19th–Early 20th Century CE), Massawa, Eritrea: Funerary Architecture, Funerary Rituals, Burial Rites, and Bioarcheological Data Identifying Late Islamic Graves in Central Eastern Eritrea

Systematic studies on Late Islamic cemeteries that integrate architectural, ritual, and biological aspects remain relatively rare, particularly in Islamic countries or regions with an active Muslim presence. Typically, available research focuses more on epigraphic and artistic features. Since 2018, excavations at the Cathedral and surveys in the ruins of the city of Adulis (Massawa, Eritrea) have uncovered 326 Muslim graves: six dating to the 15th and 18th centuries CE and 320 attributed to the mid-19th to the early 20th century CE. These discoveries have enabled, for the first time in Eritrea, a detailed scientific study of the biological characteristics of the human remains, the funerary architecture, and the burial rites of Muslim communities from the 15th to the early 20th century. The skeletal remains were analyzed through taphonomic and anthropological studies. The graves were categorized into various typologies based on their structural features, while evidence of funerary rituals was documented as indicative elements of the burial practices adopted. These findings were further enriched by ethnographic sources and collaborative work with local communities, who acted as custodians of the historical memory and traditions of the region. The results provide insights into a historical period of Eritrea that is otherwise poorly documented. More broadly, they contribute to the understanding of the history of the Horn of Africa, a region with limited data from funerary and archaeological contexts. The Muslim cemeteries of Adulis represent the most extensively investigated Muslim burial site in recent years, providing critical insights into the historical Muslim presence in the region. These findings also allow researchers to hypothesize the succession of various communities that chose Adulis as a central location for interring their deceased, reflecting its enduring significance as a focal point for cultural and ritual practices across different periods.

Еnvironmental responsibility during the war

The article substantiates the cause-and-effect relationship between the emergence of military conflicts and society’s orientation towards consumer values and the ruthless depletion of natural resources for profit, which leads to a significant deterioration in the environmental situation worldwide. Natural resources, favorable climatic conditions, geographical advantages, and a developed industrial base are all key factors contributing to wars, which in today’s globalized society take on hybrid forms, making it difficult to hold parties accountable for environmental crimes. Accordingly, the issue of environmental responsibility of belligerent states for crimes committed against nature is relevant and needs to be addressed both at the international and national levels. The purpose of the article is to study the phenomenon of environmental responsibility at two levels – philosophical and legal. The philosophical aspect allows for the identification of the moral and ethical factors influencing human disengagement from ecological awareness. The legal aspect examines the problem of the effectiveness of the principles and norms of international and national environmental law in wartime. Having conducted an interdisciplinary analysis of environmental responsibility from both philosophical and legal perspectives, we identified the mental causes of environmental problems, specifically those that clearly reveal the way of thinking and core values of contemporary society, and also clarified the existing problems and prospects in international law regarding individual and national liability for crimes against nature. The originality of the study lies in the fact that, firstly, the problem of environmental responsibility is considered in direct relation to the social, ethical, and legal factors shaping modern society; secondly, we have substantiated the need to develop a Fifth Geneva Convention for the protection of the environment during armed conflict and made proposals regarding its content; thirdly, the authors’ methodology for assessing the environmental responsibility of countries is presented based on data from authoritative international indices. The methodology includes criteria for environmental responsibility (achievement of sustainable development goals, environmental efficiency, rule of law, social progress) and the calculation of the index for five countries involved in armed conflicts. The results obtained demonstrate that wars, especially long ones, not only destroy ecological systems but also reduce the level of environmental responsibility involved countries and lead to a general decline in ecological awareness.

(Re)Platforming subcultures: Sinosphere board game geeks

In this paper, I argue that while regional platformisation often takes a utilitarian role, replacing services which are not offered as readily outside of global platforms’ strong reach, there is also an underemphasised performative role as these same online websites become integral to platform-dependent subcultures and their identity formation. I look at board game geeks, who share a culture as much about playing games as it is about performing an identity through collecting games, discussing new releases, and sharing knowledge and enthusiasm with other geeks. Through this I argue that as geek culture becomes increasingly platformed and offline-first communities transfer increasingly online, regional efforts to participate in board game geek culture often require replatformisation for reasons ranging from solving pragmatic issues to replicating global board game geeks’ platformed experience. Through data collection efforts on Modian, China’s largest crowdfunding website, as well as an interdisciplinary literature analysis, I argue that as platformisation assumes a non-existing globality, Sinosphere board game geeks find themselves excluded from this increasingly online-first interconnected subculture, and they ultimately have had to find different ways to renegotiate their identities as geeks. They do this through ill-fitting platformisation, constantly enduring structural friction from online platforms made for western audiences; as well as replatformisation, where I show how regional users find new means to perform the online-first board game geek.

Cyto-, gene, and multireceptor architecture of the early postnatal mouse hippocampal complex.

Neurotransmitter receptors are key molecules in signal transmission in the adult brain, and their precise spatial and temporal balance expressions also play a critical role in normal brain development. However, the specific balance expression of multiple receptors during hippocampal development is not well characterized. In this study, we used quantitative in vivo receptor autoradiography to measure the distributions and densities of 18 neurotransmitter receptor types in the mouse hippocampal complex at postnatal day 7, and compared them with the expressions of their corresponding encoding genes. We provide a novel and comprehensive characterization of the cyto-, gene, and multireceptor architecture of the developing mouse hippocampal and subicular regions during the developmental period, which typically differs from that in the adult brain. High-density receptor expressions with distinct regional and laminar distributions were observed for AMPA, Kainate, mGluR2/3, GABAA, GABAA/BZ, α2, and A1 receptors during this specific period, whereas NMDA, GABAB, α1, M1, M2, M3, nicotinic α4β2, 5-HT1A, 5-HT2, D1 and D2/D3 receptors exhibited relatively low and homogeneous expressions. This specific balance of multiple receptors aligns with regional cytoarchitecture, neurotransmitter distributions, and gene expressions. Moreover, contrasting with previous findings, we detected a high α2 receptor density, with distinct regional and laminar distribution patterns. A non-covariation differentiation phenomenon between α2 receptor distributions and corresponding gene expressions is also demonstrated in this early developmental period. The multimodal data provides new insights into understanding the hippocampal development from the perspective of cell, gene, and multireceptor levels, and contributes important resources for further interdisciplinary analyses.

THE ESSENCE AND PROBLEMS OF DEFINING THE TERM «RURAL TERRITORY»

This article is devoted not to urbanized territories, but to rural territories. It turned out that when considering this term, there is a need for an in-depth study of the origins of the formation of the concept of "village". Historically, a village is both a diversity of resources and a place of production capacities and agricultural products. The village has always been a mirror of the spirituality of peoples, traditions and reflected its national exclusivity. The village is rich in natural biodiversity and cultural heritage. All this requires the need to study, develop and improve rural territories. But it turned out that in the Ukrainian legislation the concept of "rural territories" is not officially approved. The term is used in state acts, but its definition in the legal field is not officially. This concept has been studied by many scientists in different fields of scientific activity. The term "rural territories" is used in various concepts and development strategies, for example: "Draft Strategy for the Development of Agriculture and Rural Territories of Ukraine for the Period up to 2030"; in the legal field; in political slogans, etc. The term "rural territories" is used, but unfortunately, it has not yet been officially enshrined in law. And this has led to many problems, such as: confusion in the theoretical aspect, corruption schemes at the practical level, incorrect interpretation in regulatory documents, and with all this, the failure to allocate funds due to the uncertainty of the object, which leads to the decline of rural areas. But there is a fact of population migration from urbanized cities to the hinterland (villages, suburban areas, etc.). This is explained by poor ecology, the inadequate condition of Ukrainian cities, the development of viruses (Covid, hepatitis, etc.) in cities with a population of over a million, and military actions. Therefore, the article discusses some of the positive aspects of living in rural areas, and also studies the problems that a modern resident may face. Domestic and foreign researchers helped to understand the question of what "rural territories" are and what characterizes them. The article provides an interdisciplinary analysis of the definition of rural areas from different scientific points of view. There are many definitions in different countries. They vary depending on the economic, social, demographic and political characteristics of the states. In the article, we also gave our individual definition of the term "rural territories " from the point of view of a new look at town planning science. We consider it important to pay special attention to the development of rural areas in the urban development aspect. This study can help the Ukrainian Legislation and regulatory framework to achieve success in the tasks set on the topic of regional development. And it can also become a good foundation for subsequent scientific works.

Implementation of a Big Data Ecosystem for Interdisciplinary Analysis in Academic Projects: Collaboration between Engineering and Communication in the Study of the 2024 Mexican Elections

This article presents the development and application of a Big Data ecosystem at FES Aragón, UNAM, framed within a PAPIIT Project. It details the collaboration with the Electoral Observatory of the Communication program at the same Faculty for analyzing political communication on social networks during the 2024 election campaigns in Mexico. Through massive data processing methodologies, which included comparisons between conventional tools like Python and distributed platforms on a Hadoop cluster and the use of Spark, large volumes of data were structured and cleaned. This methodology allowed for processing information for subsequent comprehensive qualitative and quantitative analysis from the perspectives of ethos, pathos, and logos in the discourse of the candidates participating in the electoral process. The results revealed that, while Python is useful for small datasets, Hadoop and Spark offer superior efficiency in large-scale data processing, highlighting the importance of choosing the appropriate infrastructure for each task. The findings demonstrate the value of the intersection between computer engineering and communication in social and political research, setting a precedent for future interdisciplinary collaborations.
