Game Android-Based Vocabulary Introduction Education for Early Childhood

The educational challenges at TK Al-Hidayah, a kindergarten in Kangean, Sumenep, are significant, with passive learning methods and ineffective educational media reducing student engagement and motivation. Most children speak their regional language, limiting their Indonesian vocabulary acquisition. To address this, we developed an interactive Android-based educational game for vocabulary learning aimed at young children. Using the Game Development Life Cycle (GDLC) method, the game was designed, developed, and tested through several phases, including concept, design, development, testing, release, and maintenance. The game features a learning menu with lessons on vowels, consonants, uppercase and lowercase letters, and object names, as well as a game menu with activities like matching object names and letters. Testing showed the game effectively enhances children's vocabulary skills and engagement in learning. This research contributes to the development of interactive and innovative educational methods for early childhood education.

Effects of Distance Education Models on Senior Nursing Students' Readiness for E-learning, Self-Directed Learning and Clinical Practice: Mixed Method Design

<b>Aim: </b>COVID-19 pandemic process has had negative effects on education. During the pandemic, the continuation of education was carried out online. The present study aimed to examine the effects of distance education models on the readiness of senior nursing students for e-learning, self-directed learning, and clinical practice.<br /> <b>Material and methods:</b> This study was conducted using a mixed-method design with 58 senior nursing students in the 2020-2021 academic fall semester. Descriptive Characteristics Form, University Students' E-learning Readiness Scale, Self-Directed Learning Readiness Scale, Clinical Practice Readiness Assessment Form and focus group interviews were used.<br /> <b>Results:</b> Distance education models increased the readiness of senior nursing students for e-learning and self-directed learning. In the interviews, some of the students defined online education as good preparation for the clinic, while others stated that they could not feel like a nurse in a real clinical setting.<br /> <b>Conclusions: </b>Distance education as well as in face-to-face nursing education, the importance of using interactive education methods in extraordinary situations such as the COVID-19 pandemic and earthquakes has emerged.<br /> <b>Keywords: </b>COVID-19; distance education; nursing students; e-learning.<b> </b>

Syntax of Language in Visual Arts Education: Interactive Understanding through Image Prompt Generator

The development of image generators in visual arts has garnered attention from the field of art education, and this article explores the interaction between language syntax and visual arts through the use of image prompt generators. Given the increasing utilization of AI technology in visual creativity within art education. The research methodology involves analyzing the language syntax within prompts used as instructions for image prompt generators, followed by a visual evaluation of the generated outcomes related to the language descriptions. Data analysis will highlight the correlation between language syntax instructions and visual interpretations, with the subjective of identifying the extent to which language usage influences visual artistic creativity. The results are expected to provide a deeper understanding of the impact of language syntax in creating visual artworks through image prompt generator technology. The implications of this research can enhance comprehension of language syntax usage in the context of visual arts and support the development of more interactive art education methods.

EDUKASI MENGATASI NYERI HAID MENGGUNAKAN HEATING PILLOW THERAPY PADA SISWI SMP 3 SURAKARTA

This service aims to analyze the situation of dysmenorrhea in junior high school students by focusing on the problems experienced by 35% of female students at SMPN 3 Surakarta. The method used is through educational efforts that apply promotive and curative concepts, which include delivering material, direct practice, and evaluation using "Power Point". The results of the activity showed that this approach was successful in achieving the specified achievement indicators, with an average participant score of more than 71 out of a total of 27 female students involved. This service provides deeper insight into dysmenorrhoea in junior high school students and provides solutions through an educational approach that can contribute to efforts to prevent and treat this condition effectively and sustainably. Through structured and interactive educational methods, female students can increase their understanding of dysmenorrhoea and learn how to deal with the symptoms they experience. It is hoped that the results and discussion of this service can encourage the implementation of similar activities in other schools and contribute to improving the quality of life of adolescent girls.

Hemorrhage is one of the health issues that can be life-threatening, especially in children. This community service research aims to provide training and education to health cadres in the Rancawiru Village on the management of hemorrhage in children as the first response in handling emergencies. Interactive education methods are used to enhance the knowledge and skills of the cadres in managing hemorrhage in children. The results indicate an improvement in the knowledge and skills of the cadres, which is expected to enhance the prompt response to cases of hemorrhage in children in the community

Therapeutic communication skills level among students undertaking the pediatric nursing course and the associated influencing factors

AimThe present study to determine the level of therapeutic communication skills among the students undertaking the pediatric nursing course and explore the associated influencing factors. MethodsThis descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted with 140 nursing students who took the pediatric nursing course. Data were collected using a Nursing Student Information Form and the Therapeutic Communication Skills Scale for Nursing Students. The mean and percentage calculations, t-test, ANOVA test, and regression analysis were conducted to analyze the correlations between the participants' descriptive characteristics and their mean scores on the scales. ResultsThe participants' mean scores obtained on the total Therapeutic Communication Skills Scale for Nursing Students and all of its subdimensions were observed to have a statistically significant correlation with variables such as gender, grade point average, willingness to select the nursing department, satisfaction with the nursing department, difficulty in establishing communication, perceived ability to establish social relations, difficulty in communicating with a child, perception of childhood life, experience with child care, fondness for children, interest in playing therapeutic games with children, and perceived ability to communicate with children. In Model 1, certain descriptive characteristics (satisfaction with the nursing department, difficulty in communicating with a child, experience with child care, interest in playing therapeutic games with children, and perceived ability to communicate with children) explained 52.4% of the therapeutic communication skills scores of the pediatric nursing students and were statistically significantly. ConclusionsIn this study, it was determined that some of the descriptive characteristics of the students who took the pediatric nursing course had a significant effect on their therapeutic communication skills. Implications for practiceIn order to develop the therapeutic communication skills of students undertaking a pediatric nursing course, it is necessary to support these students with a standard curriculum that includes student-centered, innovative, and interactive educational methods, such as role play, case analysis, and video-based learning. It is also recommended to conduct comparative studies on different educational approaches for nursing students undertaking pediatric nursing courses or meta-analyses to evaluate the effectiveness of such approaches.

RADICL CTF

To address the nationwide workforce shortage of skilled and educated cyber-informed engineers, we must develop low-cost and highly effective resources for industrial control systems education and training. College curricula in technology management, cybersecurity, and computer science aim to build students’ computational and adversarial thinking abilities but are often done only through theory and abstracted concepts [1]. To better a student’s understanding of industrial control system applications, post-secondary institutions can use gamification to increase student interest through an interactive, user-friendly, hands-on experience. RADICL CTF can provide post-secondary institutions with new opportunities for low-cost, guided exercises for industrial control system (ICS) education to help students master adversarial thinking. Based on an extension to picoCTF, RADICL CTF is a platform for students to design, implement and evaluate exercises that test their understanding of core concepts in industrial control systems cybersecurity, answering the need for more interactive education methods. The main contributions of this paper are the improvement of the cyber-security curriculum through extending the picoCTF platform to promote the gamification of industrial control system concepts with consideration to the Purdue Reference Architecture.

Educators’ and Visitors’ Perceptions of Invasive Species Education in Zoos

Management of invasive alien species (IAS) depends on public awareness and cooperation, which may be increased by effective IAS education by zoos. We administered a questionnaire to visitors (n = 221) and educators (n = 44) at three Association of Zoos and Aquariums facilities in Florida to explore their perceptions of the content and effectiveness of IAS education at these facilities. Most visitors recalled seeing IAS on display, with 80% of visitors stating that they considered zoos to be a place to learn about IAS. Both visitors and educators agreed that minimal information on how IAS are introduced to Florida was presented. They also agreed that greater implementation of shows and presentations pertaining to IAS would be highly effective in educating the public about IAS and the need for actions to mitigate species invasions. Zoos may improve their educational effectiveness by making visitors aware of IAS citizen science programs and implementing interactive educational methods.

Cultural Competency Education for Health Care Providers: A Literature Review to Guide Canadian Pharmacy Residency Programs.

The need for cultural competency education has been emphasized for health care professionals in Canada. According to the Canadian Pharmacy Residency Board accreditation standards, pharmacy residents must be able to provide culturally competent care for their patients, further building upon the education received during their undergraduate pharmacy programs. Although these standards exist, guidance for their implementation in pharmacy residency programs is lacking. To review the available literature and develop recommendations for pharmacy residency coordinators and directors on cultural competency training for pharmacy residents. A literature search was conducted to explore the literature concerning cultural competency education for pharmacy residents. The search was expanded to encompass literature involving pharmacy students and medical residents for information that could be applied to pharmacy residents. The initial literature search did not yield any results for cultural competency education provided to pharmacy residents. The expanded search yielded information about methods used to educate pharmacy students and medical residents, including didactic lectures, online modules, experiential learning rotations, seminars, workshops, patient simulations and case discussions, and guest lectures by experts in the field or by patients. It is recommended that interactive education methods be used to train pharmacy residents in cultural competency, to match the experiential learning structure of residency training programs. Methods that could be implemented include offering online modules or readings, arranging for guest speakers, contacting local experts and community members for guidance on creation of a suitable curriculum, and providing immersive rotations focused on diverse populations.

FINANCIAL LITERACY OF STUDENTS AND ITS IMPROVEMENT THROUGH THE APPLICATION OF INTERACTIVE LEARNING METHODS

Improving the financial literacy of the population is one of the priorities for both the state and market participants. As part of the implementation of this task, the Government of the Russian Federation has approved a Strategy for improving financial literacy in the Russian Federation for the period 2017-2023, the most important goal of which is to increase financial literacy of young people. The article presents data from a study conducted by the Analytical Center of the National Agency for Financial Research (NAFI) at the beginning of 2022, which indicate insufficient financial literacy of the population, especially young people. In order to increase the level of financial literacy among first-year students of all areas of training at Udmurt State University, the Department of Finance and Digital Economics developed and introduced into the educational process a work program on the discipline "Financial Literacy", and then a synthetic course "Digital Economy and Financial Literacy". The article discusses interactive educational methods that expand the possibilities and ways of presenting the material of the discipline "Financial Literacy", contribute to improving the effectiveness of the educational process. In addition, an analysis of the advantages of the free learning management system - Moodle, used at Udmurt State University, aimed at interaction between subjects of education, both in distance and in full-time format, is carried out.

The purpose of the study was to determine methodological priorities for the use of interactive educational methods in the technical preparation of volleyball players at the stage of initial training. Materials and methods. The methods of theoretical analysis and generalization of data from scientific and methodical literature, the method of expert evaluation, methods of mathematical statistics were used. During September-December 2020, 24 coaches and physical culture teachers who conduct volleyball group work in secondary schools were interviewed. Results and discussion. The rating of interactive educational methods for studying individual technical techniques in volleyball has been determined. Experts offer to use different methods for studying and improving the ball serve: discussing the problem in a general circle, acting out the situation, working in small groups, decision tree; for passing the ball: rotating (changeable) threes, working in pairs, microphone and acting out the situation; for receiving the ball: working in pairs, working in small groups, discussing the problem in a general circle and solving problems; offensive strike: evaluative discussion, work in pairs and discussion of the problem in the general circle; for blocking: two-four-all together, work in pairs, rotating (changeable) threes, work in small groups. Experts recommend using eleven separate interactive educational methods, among them: five belong to the subgroup of cooperative learning: work in small groups, rotating (changeable) threes, work in pairs, circle of ideas, two-four-all together; four methods belong to the subgroup of collective-group learning: discussion of the problem in the general circle, decision tree, microphone, problem solving; one – to the subgroup of situational modeling – acting out the situation by roles (role play, imitation) and one – to the subgroup of evaluation of debatable issues – evaluation discussion. Interesting and effective methods and means should prevail at the initial stages of athletes’ preparation. This gives reason to recommend the use of interactive educational methods for working with beginner volleyball players. Conclusion. For the first time, recommendations for the use of interactive educational methods in the preparation of athletes at the stage of initial training in game team sports (on the example of volleyball) were defined and summarized; recommendations for the application of individual methods and their subgroups for solving problems of teaching certain technical actions of volleyball are determined. Based on this, it is possible to make an objective correction of the content of the educational and training process of volleyball players of the first year of study at the stage of initial training in terms of their technical preparation

A Novel Curriculum to Improve Medical Student Preparedness to have Advance Care Planning Discussions.

Background: Physicians report inadequate training in advance care planning (ACP) discussions despite the importance of these skills for practicing physicians including new residents. Objectives: To evaluate the effectiveness of a novel curriculum to prepare graduating medical students to have ACP discussions. Design: An ACP curriculum was implemented within a new fourth-year medical student elective with a focus on interactive educational methods and simulated experiences. Setting/Subjects: Forty-seven students received the curriculum over 3years at a medium-sized, urban medical school. Measurements: Students were surveyed regarding attitudes and comfort related to ACP discussions and end-of-life (EOL) topics before and after the course. Additionally, students were asked about baseline experiences in the pre-course survey and perceived effectiveness of the educational methods in the post-course survey. Results: Comfort discussing EOL care decisions without supervision rose from 4% to 36% after the course with none of the students feeling they needed maximal help from a supervisor after the course compared to 51% before the course. All students agree or strongly agreed (Likert 4 or 5) that they felt prepared to discuss patient's wishes and values in EOL care with a real patient or family after the course. Conclusions: An ACP curriculum can increase student comfort and preparedness to have these conversations as residents. Students found small group discussions and the chance for direct practice with simulated patients to be most helpful. These findings can help guide implementation of ACP curricula in medical education.

The effects of an ethics laboratory program on moral sensitivity and professional values in nursing students: A randomized controlled study

BackgroundRecently, moral sensitivity and professional values have become increasingly important in nursing education and have been tried to be improved. ObjectivesTo investigate the effects of an ethics laboratory program integrated with the fundamentals of nursing course on the moral sensitivity and professional values of nursing students. DesignThe present study was designed as a randomized controlled study. The 8-week ethics laboratory program was applied to the students in the intervention group. In the ethics laboratory program, interactive education methods, such as ethical scenarios, case studies, roleplay, group discussions, project papers and watching movies, were applied. Control group received the standard fundamentals of nursing curriculum. ParticipantsThe sample size was determined using stratified block randomization method, and 100 nursing students were assigned to intervention (n = 50) and control group (n = 50). ResultsThere was no baseline difference between the groups. The moral sensitivity average of the students in the intervention (82.66 ± 12.57) was lower than the average of the control group (85.64 ± 16.83) after the ethics laboratory program; however, the difference was not statistically significant (p > .05). Similarly, there were no significant differences between the intervention (132.32 ± 16.83) and the control group (131.81 ± 20.55) regarding the average score of professional values. In the responsibility sub-dimension of professional values, there was a statistically significant increase in the intervention group (p < .05). ConclusionThe findings suggest that the ethics laboratory program for nursing students is effective in promoting responsibility sub-dimension of professional values. However, there was no significant effect on students' moral sensitivity and other dimensions of professional values. Further refinements of interventional research in ethics education and measurement of learning outcomes should be developed.

Evaluation and integration of ICT using music software in music education

The primary goal of this research was to assist music education instructors in the integration of ICT into their classrooms and utilized music software. It also sought to get a better knowledge of how instructors made use of ICT, as well as to identify and evaluate their training requirements, as well as to assess the extent to which ICT was utilized in instructional programs. The researchers also looked at the obstacles that instructors encountered when integrating ICT into music education courses, as well as their perceptions of the technology's usefulness. This study utilized qualitative method and used written documents as where the researcher got the data. According to the findings of the study, technology helps to make the learning environment more alive and appealing. It will demonstrate how interactive music educational techniques and ICT tools were used in schools to teach music education and how they encourage the teaching of music education. It will also demonstrate how interactive music educational methods and ICT tools were used in schools to teach arithmetic.
