Auth4App: Streamlining authentication for integrated cyber–physical environments

The growing integration of mobile applications for user authentication has revolutionized user interactions with digital platforms, offering novel possibilities in user experience (UX). However, this paradigm shift poses significant security challenges. Leveraging smartphones for authentication purposes provides convenient and swift access to services, streamlining user interactions with various platforms through simple taps. Several institutions adopt static QR Codes generated from primary, unchanging user data (e.g., individual citizen national identification numbers) for physical authentication procedures like access turnstiles. However, relying on static data introduces critical security vulnerabilities as this data is susceptible to compromise. Implementing an One-Time Authentication Code (OTAC) approach appears promising in addressing these issues. Nevertheless, the absence of an integrated solution for developing a physical authentication process using OTAC leads to suboptimal API user experiences (UX APIs) and subsequent security vulnerabilities. In response to this challenge, we introduce Auth4App, a protocol set designed for identification and authentication using mobile applications. Auth4App comprises two core protocols: one dedicated to linking user credentials to mobile devices (i.e., identification), and the other for generating OTAC. We showcase the adaptability and practicality of Auth4App through three distinct case studies: a mobile-only scenario, integration of mobile devices with a turnstile, and integration of Auth4App with FIDO2. To ensure the robustness of the security protocols, Auth4App is evaluated using automated verification tools and argument proofs, solidifying the system’s reliability.

The Integration and Utilization of Mobile Application in Healthcare Consultation Services for Quirino Province

The use of mobile devices has been rapidly increasing because of its versatile and useful applications. As a result, its high-tech features and Users have ready-made and customizable alternatives thanks to open source platforms., making it particularly helpful for healthcare services at any time and from any location. Healthcare services for the rural areas are limited since hospitals are also limited and their location is also one of the problems in availing healthcare service in the province. The main objective of this study focuses on the integration and utilization of mobile application as an alternative solution for healthcare consultation services. The descriptive and survey method was used in the data gathered from the respondents which comprised a number of people from the six municipalities of the province specifically rural areas. A questionnaire-checklist was administered to determine the possibility of the integration of mobile application for healthcare consultation services. Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) a statistical tool used to determine the number of interested respondents to avail such mobile platform and to determined economic aspect of the study. The study proves that there is a possibility for the integration of mobile application as an online platform for healthcare consultation services. This will be beneficial to Quirinians and nearby provinces.

Leveraging IoT technology and mobile application development, this project proposes a holistic approach to address these challenges. The system integrates wireless sensors, microcontrollers, cloud computing, and a user-friendly mobile application to enable real-time monitoring, control, and optimization of agricultural processes. The paper discusses the architecture, design, implementation, and performance evaluation of the Smart Agriculture Management System (SAMS), emphasizing its potential to revolutionize farming practices and enhance productivity.

Enhanced deep learning technique for sugarcane leaf disease classification and mobile application integration

With an emphasis on classifying diseases of sugarcane leaves, this research suggests an attention-based multilevel deep learning architecture for reliably classifying plant diseases. The suggested architecture comprises spatial and channel attention for saliency detection and blends features from lower to higher levels. On a self-created database, the model outperformed cutting-edge models like VGG19, ResNet50, XceptionNet, and EfficientNet_B7 with an accuracy of 86.53%. The findings show how essential all-level characteristics are for categorizing images and how they can improve efficiency even with tiny databases. The suggested architecture has the potential to support the early detection and diagnosis of plant diseases, enabling fast crop damage mitigation. Additionally, the implementation of the proposed AMRCNN model in the Android phone-based application gives an opportunity for the widespread use of mobile phones in the classification of sugarcane diseases.

Tracing historical perspectives, from grassroots movements to digital revolutions, the review analyzes the integration of social media, mobile applications, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence in advocacy efforts. Identified factors influencing effectiveness include accessibility, user engagement, privacy, cultural sensitivity, integration with traditional approaches, and collaborative partnerships. Privacy protection, inclusivity, quality assurance, stigma reduction, and user autonomy are ethical considerations. Future directions emphasize personalized AI interventions, gamification, VR/AR applications, telehealth integration, and community-centric platforms. Remote support of the process of teaching German grammar using mobile applications at the university

The article is devoted to the study of issues related to the disclosure of the potential of mobile applications in the field of foreign language teaching in the context of the modernization of Russian education. The article presents arguments in favor of the use of mobile applications: improving the effectiveness of educational and cognitive activities, the formation of independent work skills, increasing the motivation of students to learn a foreign language, the formation of the ability to organize and independently plan the process of learning a language, evaluate educational activities. The article pays special attention to the potential of mobile applications in teaching grammar of a foreign language at different levels – from beginner to advanced. The author recommends using several different types of applications to achieve maximum results at the three highlighted stages of work on grammatical material. The first stage is the presentation of grammatical phenomena and the creation of basic knowledge based on the use of specific mobile applications. The second stage involves automating the use of grammatical skills through their practice in mobile applications. The third stage is the control of the assimilation of knowledge using mobile applications. The author describes an experiment in which mobile applications were introduced into the educational process. At the preparatory stage of the experiment, the learning potential of mobile applications was studied and input conditions were diagnosed. At the second stage of the study, a choice of mobile applications was made. The integration of mobile applications at the third stage was implemented in the form of remote support for teaching German grammar as part of a traditional lesson. The results of the experiment, obtained after repeated testing of the experimental group at the fourth stage, demonstrated the effectiveness of using mobile applications in teaching German grammar.

Enhancing Grammar Competency Through WhatsApp: An Experimental Study in Saudi Arabian Education

This study aimed to delve into the impact of utilizing the WhatsApp application as an educational tool in developing students' grammatical skills, specifically for a language course at the College of Science and Humanities in Al-Aflaj Governorate, Saudi Arabia. Acknowledging the potential of digital communication tools in the learning process, the research deployed a quasi-experimental design encompassing 160 students. These students were equally divided into control and experimental groups. While both groups were subjected to conventional teaching methods, the experimental group received additional support through WhatsApp, receiving clarified grammar rules and supplementary materials. The study spanned an entire semester, with a pre-test and post-test administered to evaluate student performance. Through the careful analysis of the average scores and standard deviations, significant findings were revealed. In the experimental group, post-test scores experienced a considerable elevation from 10.625 (pre-test) to 16.075, reflecting a substantial effect size of 37%. This improvement was attributed to the effective use of WhatsApp. Contrarily, the control group, not benefiting from the application, scored lower in both tests, implying a stark contrast between the two methods. The results of this study strongly advocate for the integration of mobile applications, such as WhatsApp, into the educational process. It suggests that the strategic use of such applications could serve as an effective supplement to traditional teaching methods, with the potential to significantly enhance learning outcomes.

Enhancing Rice Crop Management: Disease Classification Using Convolutional Neural Networks and Mobile Application Integration

Early diagnosis of rice disease is important because it poses a considerable threat to agricultural productivity as well as the global food security of the world. It is challenging to obtain more reliable outcomes based on the percentage of RGB value using image processing outcomes for rice disease detections and classifications in the agricultural field. Machine learning, especially with a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), is a great tool to overcome this problem. But the utilization of deep learning techniques often necessitates high-performance computing devices, costly GPUs and extensive machine infrastructure. As a result, this significantly raises the overall expenses for users. Therefore, the demand for smaller CNN models becomes particularly pronounced, especially in embedded systems, robotics and mobile applications. These domains require real-time performance and minimal computational overhead, making smaller CNN models highly desirable due to their lower computational cost. This paper introduces a novel CNN architecture which is comparatively small in size and promising in performance to predict rice leaf disease with moderate accuracy and lower time complexity. The CNN network is trained with processed images. The image processing is performed using segmentation and k-means clustering to remove background and green parts of affected images. This technique proposes to detect rice disease of rice brown spot, rice bacterial blight and leaf smut with reliable outcomes in disease classifications. The model is trained using an augmented dataset of 2700 images (60% data) and validated with 1200 images of disease-affected samples to identify rice disease in agricultural fields. The model is tested with 630 images (14% data); testing accuracy is 97.9%. The model is exported into a mobile application to introduce the real-life application of the outcome of this work. The model accuracy is compared to others work associated with this type of problem. It is found that the performance of the model and the application are satisfactory compared to other works related to this work. The over-all accuracy is notable, showing the reliability and dependability of this model to classify rice leaf diseases.

INTEGRATION OF MULTIPLATFORM DESKTOP, WEB AND MOBILE APPLICATIONS AT PT. PRIMA ARTHA KREASINDO USING WEB SERVICE

The research entitled “Integration of Multi-Platform Desktop, Web and Mobile Applications at PT. Prima Artha Kreasindo Using Web Service” aims to integrate several desktop, web and mobile-based application systems into one application system using web services to make it more practical, effective and efficient. The developed application system can be installed on computers, laptops and cellular phones. The research was conducted by coding an integrated application program with a web service link facility and simulating the operation of the application. The use of the right device makes the system run more effectively and efficiently. The results showed that the multi-platform application program can be applied at PT. Prima Artha Kreasindo on the sales application system, with a point of sale system (POS, point of sales) and inventory control in the warehouse. The sales application program at the company became more practical, effective and efficient.

DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES INTRODUCTION IN TEACHING FOREIGN LANGUAGES BY THE EXAMPLE OF USING MOBILE APPLICATIONS

Purpose. The article is devoted to the study of methods used by teachers to enhance reading skills atforeign language lessonsusing mobile applications, which can be effectively used in the process of teaching/learning a foreign language, as well as the generalization of research results taking into account existing realities and trends.
 Methodology. The research is based on the theoretical study and synthesis of scientific and methodological literature, as well as Internet resources related to the topic under study and general scientific methods, i.e., analysis and generalization are used.
 Results. The results of the survey show that mobile applications can be used at different stages of the lessons devoted to reading comprehension.It helps to activate the learning process of the students, improve their language competence and motivation.As a result of the analysis of the scientific material, it was suggested thatthe integration of mobile applications that are directly aimed at developing reading skills will allow teachers to develop their ICT skills and improve their teaching methods, as well as it will allow students to engage in active and interactive learning, which also makes the progress of each student noticeable and facilitates the assessment of their knowledge.
 Practical implications. The results of the study will help optimize the use of mobile applications for developing reading skills at language teaching lessons in higher education.

The number of patients with diabetes in the Russian Federation tallied roughly 5.1 million, according to the incidence of outpatient visits in 2020 [1]. “Do-it-yourself” regular measurements of blood glucose levels (self-monitoring) are one of the most important components in achieving the therapy goals for patients with diabetes and preventing severe vascular complications. Now that the technologies have caught on, new “smart” glucometers appeared, which enable remote control and significantly expand opportunities of DM monitoring due to free mobile application integration.

Integration of IoT, Data Analytics and Mobile Application towards Digitisation Facilities Management: A Case Study

<p>Facilities Management (FM) industry players must be mindful of the current economic digitisation. It aims to empower the community and industry players with digital skills and digital-based businesses. Positively, this also will benefit FM industry players. Therefore, many FM organisations are starting to take advantage on IoT, big data analytics and mobile phone application in their activities. This paper utilised a literature review to discover the application of IoT, big data analytics and mobile application in FM processes. Then, a case study on Al Nabooda Chulia Facilities Management Co LLC (AN.C) success story as the recipient of Urbanise Smart City Pioneer Award 2017 were cross-examined on the tools they use in digitisation FM. The novelty from the integration of IoT, big data analytics and mobile phone application towards digitisation FM has significantly reducing management costs and improving facilities performance and service quality. The paper highlight an example of digitisation of FM activities that successfully optimising and innovating the current FM practices with the paradigm shift from cost management towards value creation in the future.<strong> </strong></p>

A theory‐driven design framework for smartphone applications to support healthy and sustainable grocery shopping

Modeling behavior has been a core topic of Psychology and the Social Sciences since their respective inception as academic disciplines. This has resulted in a fractured landscape of different theories, all addressing different aspects of behavior. At the same time the need to formalize the design of computer and smartphone applications has spawned the field of User Experience (UX). With the convergence of everyday behavior and the use of mobile devices the overlap between these two fields becomes ever more important. In this paper we present a comprehensive model of behavior, integrating five well-established theories, with the aim of creating a design framework for smartphone applications that foster motivation and promote the execution of a target behavior. The operationalization of the approach is demonstrated by showing how to design and implement a prototypical application to support healthy and sustainable grocery shopping behavior. While the framework proposed is not limited to this application, it is used to exemplify the relation with previous design approaches, and the concrete implications of the model-derived framework on its implementation. Our view is that both areas of research can benefit from each other: findings from behavioral theory can inform application design, while at the same time the ubiquitous integration of mobile applications allows to dynamically apply, operationalize, and implement behavioral models into everyday life.

It’s effortless, like “University Information and Communication Center in the Grip. The main advantage of developing the University Mobile Application is in terms of mobility. The application on an Android smartphone can be used anywhere and anytime. Thanks to these characteristics, Mobile Application University is the right answer to overcome obstacles in web-based or desktop-based academic information systems. With the Android-based educational information system application, information system users can access information directly from an Android smartphone. Aside from the mobility side, the development of an Android-based academic information system is also becoming increasingly optimal thanks to the smartphone’s distinctive features such as the notification feature. With the notification feature, the information will be more quickly distributed to application users. Of course, the use of an Android-based academic information system application is more effective when compared to using a web-based educational information system that must wait for users to access the web.

Integration of Web-Based and Mobile Application with QR Code implementation for the library management system

In recent years, the various institution has adopted the use of two-dimensional bar codes which are also known as Quick Response (QR) Code for information dissemination which can be decoded using smartphones, digital tablets, and other electronic devices. One of the institutions’ benefits from QR usage is the libraries to promote their services as well as in asset tagging. This paper proposed the use of QR codes on the existing library system in one of the private higher learning institutions in Malaysia for fast data retrieval at a minimal cost. Random functional acceptance tests (FAT) were conducted and improvements were made accordingly. In this proposed work, the physical location of the library assets can be found easily, fast retrieval of information, and hence the unnecessary wastage of time is avoided.

THE EFFECT OF WORD MAP STRATEGY USING INSTAGRAM TO DEVELOP STUDENTS’ VOCABULARY

Study on the use of Instagram has bloomed in EFL teaching learning process. Instagram is one of the favorite SNSs among students. This research aims to discover the effect using Instgram combined with Word Map strategy as learning tool in developing students’ vocabulary by involving 64 Islamic junior high school students. They were asked to do vocabulary level test to measure their mastery in vocabulary. In supporting the data, a questionnaire was also distributed to the treatment group. A quasi-experimental design was employed during the study. A two-way ANOVA was used to analyze the data. The findings revealed that applying Word Map strategy with Instagram significantly improved students’ vocabulary from 11% for the control group to 18.98% for the treatment group. Hence, developing Word Map strategy with mobile application integration to improve students’ writing skill within EFL curriculum is worth investigating.

Students’ Perceptions towards Using Mobile Application in Learning Speaking

The dramatic advancement technologies, particularly mobile applications, have influenced the education sector. The integration of mobile applications in education to change the teaching-learning process has taken place and led to innovative learning, including English language learning. Hence, this study aimed to find out the students’ perceptions and the factors influencing students’ perceptions toward the use of mobile application in learning English particularly speaking. To reach the objectives, this study used case study as the research method. The data were collected mainly through interview and observation. The participants were five vocational school students in Surakarta, Central Java, Indonesia. They were purposively selected because they had been familiar with mobile application and they had been taught speaking English using mobile application by their teacher, so that they could give adequate information. The research findings showed positive perception from the students toward the use of Learn English Conversation application in learning speaking. They declared that the use of Learn English Conversation application could facilitate them in practicing speaking, bring fun and enjoyable learning during the learning process. Moreover, their positive perceptions were influenced by several factors such as the flexibility and the new learning experience given by the mobile application, the ease to run the mobile application and unrequired a lot of internet quota when the students run the mobile application.
