The influence of educational information visualization trends in higher education for students in the Russian Federation

The establishment of scientific foundations for the integration of information technologies and innovative educational processes in student learning activities entails the necessity of creating a basis for transitioning from information processes to information technologies. The research aims to study the effectiveness of innovative information technologies in higher education and assess student involvement in using innovative information technologies. The study relies on the experimental survey method to assess respondents’ involvement in the use of innovative information technologies. In addition, the modeling method was used to increase students’ motivation to study through visualization and other modern technologies. A training program based on visualization and innovative information technologies aimed to study their impact on the teaching process in higher education was developed. The study results show that visualization technologies improve students’ intrinsic motivation to learn. The practical significance and further research prospects are due to the possibility of applying the training program developed in the study in higher education. The program can also become the basis for developing new training programs to study other subjects as it is not tied to studying a certain discipline and requires only computer skills.

INNOVATIVE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES AS IMPROVEMENT OF ORGANIZATIONAL PROCESSES OF CONSTRUCTION

Purpose. Analysis of the main advantages and proposals for the use of innovative information technologies to increase the efficiency of organizational construction processes. Methodology. Along with the spread of organizational processes of technology and construction organization of modern well-known Ukrainian and foreign IT firms in Ukraine, there is a need to improve the image of construction by using high-tech methods of standard and non-standard construction of civil and industrial buildings and structures. The tasks currently facing the country in the field of capital construction are the revival of renovation and reconstruction of domestic industrial and civil construction, the introduction of advanced technologies on a large scale, the rise of the culture of construction production, the training of a new generation of professional builders who are able to solve these tasks using IT in construction. The successful implementation of such a course is facilitated by measures to improve the technology and organization of construction, the introduction of new IT methods for managing renovations and reconstructions, and solving financing problems. Findings. The paper analyzes the scientific research of IT in construction, in particular during the renovation and reconstruction of buildings and structures, which reflect the advantages of using innovative technologies, VIM technologies at various stages of renovation and reconstruction from the technology of construction organization, and provides examples of the use of innovative technologies. Originality. Analysis of the results of the application of the most common IT components in industrial and civil construction makes it possible to use them at different stages, taking into account various software and technical support. Practical value. Technical, technological and organizational solutions in construction technology and organization, which have already been developed and implemented, allow the use of innovative technologies or their parts regardless of the technical or software equipment of construction organizations in the design and construction of construction objects. The methodological structure of analysis, quantitative evaluation and modeling of processes was developed, which made it possible to identify the dependencies that characterize the level of efficiency of works and allows for variant design of construction works with the help of these technologies.

Nowadays, the role of modern information technologies is invaluable for professionals in any field, including sports professionals and athletes. Computer technologies are becoming more and more entrenched in the world of football. The aim of the research is to study the main role and features of the use of innovative information technologies in the activities of football coaches, the theoretical and methodological foundations of a strategic approach to the innovation management in the field of physical culture and sports, as well as technology development and testing for the implementation of system innovations. At the current stage of football development, information technologies have been developed that allow the coach to simulate the training process of football players, and the referees to judge the competition more objectively.

The relationship between inbound open innovation and the innovative use of information technology by individuals in teams of start‐ups

AbstractDigital technology and artificial intelligence technology have built an open sharing environment of intellectualization. For start‐ups, which are restricted by their own limited resources, it is wise to take inbound open innovation as a strategy to get external advanced technical information quickly. However, how to match technology resources obtained from outside with the organisation's demand is still a problem for entrepreneurial teams and entrepreneurial researchers. Based on the literature review of existing research and considering entrepreneurial teams' demand to deal with the challenges, this paper firstly analyses the relationship between entrepreneurial teams' inbound open innovation strategy and the innovative use of information technology by individuals in teams of start‐ups and based on the Identity Theory to explore the mechanism of IT identity on the relationship mentioned above. Lastly, the paper further analyses two types of team authorisation (structural empowerment and psychological empowerment) that play different moderating roles in the relationship of inbound open innovation, IT identity and the innovative use of information technology by individuals in teams. Using 238 survey data from entrepreneurial teams with linear regression analysis, we found that IT identity moderates the relationship between inbound open innovation and individual new IT technology exploration positively, and team psychological empowerment has further moderated the relationship between inbound open innovation and the innovative use of information technology by individuals in teams positively, while team structure empowerment plays an inverted U‐shaped moderation. This study has certain guiding significance for entrepreneurial teams to take advantage of digitalised opportunities, and it also has important value for innovation and digitalisation research.

MODERN TRENDS IN THE RESTORATION OF ARCHITECTURAL MONUMENTS

The article considers the modern experience in the restoration of objects of architectural heritage of various types, systematization is carried out and current trends in restoration activities on architectural monuments are highlighted. Among the trends are: the emergence of a heterodox theory of heritage conservation, the use of innovative information technologies for reconstruction and design, the active restoration of objects of modernism, a change in the goals of adaptive reuse of monuments, the widespread use of holistic restoration and the complete reconstruction of objects from ruins.
 A new theory of heritage conservation is important. It shows the penetration into the restoration of the philosophy of postmodernism, radically changing the policy, strategies, methods and ethics of the restoration of historical monuments.

USE OF INNOVATIVE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY IN E-COMMERCE AND DIGITAL ECONOMY

The article considers the use of modern innovative information technology (IT) in general in the digital economy and in e-commerce, as its most sensitive part. First of all, the paper shows that since the beginning of the XXI century one of the main trends in the economy and society in general is the penetration of innovative information technologies in various fields of human activity, which entails global digitalization of both economy and society as a whole. E-commerce, as part of the digital economy, has been shown to be a driving force in accelerating global economic development and creating new markets. E-commerce also opens up new opportunities for inclusive and sustainable innovation growth. It is argued that the rapid development of e-commerce became possible only after the percentage of global Internet penetration exceeded some critical level, which led to its availability to the general public. In turn, the emergence of more and more new users on the Internet, the widespread use of various social networks and the rapid growth of internet of things (IoT) has led to the data explosion and the emergence and spread of technology such as Big Data. The main advantages of using Big Data in modern analytics in comparison with traditional methods are considered in the work. The place and role of Big Data technologies and tools in the digitalization of the Ukrainian economy are analyzed. It is proved that the intensive development and spread of the use of Big Data in all spheres of modern society leads to the active use of innovative IT. Based on the analysis, the main areas of use of Big Data are identified, namely: credit scoring, segmented or personalized services, risk management, anti-fraud system and using blockchain technology. The use of these technologies, in turn, will minimize customer effort and increase the efficiency of B2B and B2C models in both the digital economy and e-commerce.

Teleworking in the Field of Financial Audit in the Context Generated by the COVID-19 Pandemic

In the sensitive socio-economic context generated by the COVID-19 pandemic, teleworking was, in many fields, a way to continue the activity while complying to the measures imposed by law in order to fight the spread of the new Coronavirus. On the one hand, teleworking offers flexibility in setting the work schedule, eliminates travelling time to and from the worksite and allows to attract competent employees from all over the world, by means of digitalisation. On the other hand, working from home is a challenge. The time required to transfer the activity in the virtual space, and the additional training necessary for the use of innovative information technologies can reduce efficiency and affect the work-life balance. This paper focuses on the audit profession, which had to rethink remote auditing so as to comply with the restrictive measures, but at the same time to avoid affecting the quality of audit missions. The questionnaire distributed among professional practitioners, members of the CFAR, helped us identify the perception of Romanian financial auditors on the variables influencing the efficiency of the audit work carried out in the “new normal” and the extent to which teleworking could become a practice in future financial audit missions.

The article examines the role of information as an innovative factor in the economic development of entrepreneurship and society. The theoretical aspects of the influence of its factor on the socio-economic development of the country are highlighted. The relevance of research on these aspects is undeniable. Taking into account the fact that information and communication systems are a set of tools, means and methods by which they collect, process, transmit, store and provide data to users, it can be argued that information is turning into the main tool for doing business and influencing economic development society. The development of information technologies in the global world has led to the fact that information has become a key concept in the modern economy, and the information sector of the economy is the most popular. Thanks to information technology, the modernization of production and the improvement of methods for managing technological processes have become tools for doing business and influencing the economic development of society. There are many new forms of economic ties between business entities, modern sales markets are being formed, new knowledge and professions are being acquired on the basis of which the competitiveness and investment attractiveness of enterprises is growing. The use of innovative information technologies makes the company financially stable, which ensures the constancy of its economic development and growth of the level of its own economic security. The problems of information development in the modern world are investigated and the role of information and communication technologies in the formation of the information economy and information society in the global economic environment is determined. It has been established that the formation of the information economy and information society in Ukraine is carried out in accordance with the state information policy, indicated by the current legislative documents. In a strategic perspective, the development of the information economy and the information society will strengthen the economic position of Ukraine in the global economic environment and improve the well-being of the country's population.

The problem of ensuring economic security at Ukrainian enterprises is becoming more acute, because it requires a significant change in security activities. The system, which provided for strict state control of all aspects of enterprise activities, has changed to one in which the owner and senior management are responsible for business security. Along with increasing competition due to the openness of the domestic market for foreign producers, Ukrainian enterprises are under the influence of challenges, risks and threats, the source of which is globalization, digitalization and intellectualization. The current level of functioning and development prospects of each business entity is determined by the ability of security entities to adequately respond to the influence of the latest factors of the external and internal environment. The purpose of the study is to substantiate the key theoretical foundations of the intellectualization of security management of Ukrainian enterprises. The following methods are used for the theoretical foundations of intellectualization of enterprise security management: induction and deduction, comparison and systematization – in the study of the essential characteristics of the terms “intelligence”, “information and knowledge”, “intellectualization”, “intellectual resources”, “management intellectualization”, and “intellectualization of security management”; synthesis and analysis – to determine the theoretical foundations of the intellectualization of security management of the enterprise; morphological analysis – to clarify the tasks of security actors in the process of intellectualization at the enterprise level; graphic – for visual presentation of theoretical and methodical material; abstract-logical – for theoretical generalizations and conclusions of the study. It is proposed to interpret security activities as activities aimed at maintaining the stability and ensuring the stable functioning of the enterprise by protecting its resources and interests, as well as the use of additional market opportunities. The essence of the conceptual apparatus of intellectualization from the standpoint of making changes in the security activities of the enterprise is considered. It is proposed to interpret the term “intelligence” in relation to security actors as a mental ability, based on information and available knowledge, to develop solutions in a high level of uncertainty with control over their implementation and the ability to make timely changes. It is substantiated that the intellectualization of security management should involve raising the intellectual level of management and the use of innovative information technologies.

Robotic question support system to reduce hesitation for face‐to‐face questions in lectures

AbstractEncouraging students to actively ask questions during lectures is a formidable challenge that can be addressed through innovative use of information technology. We developed a robotic system that allows students in a lecture to collaboratively decide questions to be asked by a humanoid robot. To verify whether the system reduces hesitation to ask questions during lectures, 62 university students were divided into two groups, and each attended two different mock lectures on the Nobel Prize in Physics. Two lectures were conducted with and without the proposed system in counterbalanced order. Results suggested that students who were usually hesitant to ask questions during lectures became less hesitant to ask questions face‐to‐face when they could use the proposed system. Moreover, the perceived activeness in the lectures increased when using the system. Multiple regression analyses revealed that certain student actions, particularly tweeting and showing agreement with the questions posted by others, were correlated with an increase in perceived activeness.

The dual role of IT capabilities in the development of digital products and services

Past research on the business value of information technologies (IT) has demonstrated the positive contribution of IT capabilities (IT-C) to product innovation performance. However, with the advent of digital technologies, a new kind of product innovations gained importance: digital product and service innovations (DPI). As a consequence of their idiosyncratic characteristics, the usefulness and validity of existing product innovation management concepts cannot be transferred to the context of DPI without further ado. Accordingly, this study reinvestigates the role of IT-C in the specific context of DPI. Therefore, we begin with a differentiation of DPI from traditional, non-digital product innovation. Then, we propose that IT-C affect the performance of DPI projects via two paths. First, based on the notion that DPI rely on the use of innovative IT, we assume that IT-C directly impact DPI performance. Second, following prior research that has argued that the performance contribution of IT-C is mediated by other organizational intermediaries, we assume that IT-C also indirectly contribute to DPI performance through their positive influence on other organizational capabilities. One such organizational capability that mediates the influence of IT-C on DPI performance is a firm’s DPI capabilities (DPI-C). DPI-C allow firms to deploy their digital resources for DPI purposes and, thus, are an important antecedent for DPI performance. To test our assumptions, we use partial least squares–structural equation modeling technique and analyze survey data collected from DPI projects across different industries in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

Impact of COBIT5 Framework Application in the Efficiency and Effectiveness of Information Technology. “An Applied Analytical study of a sample of Iraqi Private Shareholding Banks”

The success of the banking sector in the modern era depends on the effective and innovative use of information technology and information is one of the main resources of all institutions, and from the moment of creation of information to the moment of disposal technology plays an important role, so it requires investment and harmonization of investment in information technology and business, recently considered IT is a strategic tool for managing enterprise resources that connects stakeholders, customers, and suppliers, and promotes the conduct of various processes as quickly and efficiently as possible, and is a tool for storing and retrieving business-related information. It is important to create value, which is important for shareholders and helps in achieving the objectives of the institutions and continuity through access to efficiency and effectiveness, the problem of research shows the risks and electronic financial manipulation, which requires great attention in the field of internal control to face those risks, which is increased by increasing the use of information technology. The study used two main hypotheses. The study was applied to a community of (37) banks. A sample of (25) banks was adopted. Checklist was used to collect research data and to perform statistical analysis, SPSS-19 was used to calculate (arithmetic mean, standard deviation, coefficient of difference, relative importance, T test, F test, R2 determination factor), The results confirmed the existence of a statistically significant correlation and impact of the framework (COBIT5) as an internal control tool in the Iraqi private shareholding banks, in addition to the application of the framework (COBIT5) as an internal control tool helped in the governance and management of banks as well as maximize the value and benefit through the use of technology Information. The most important recommendations of the research, was the need for bank management attention in the implementation of the framework (COBIT5) properly and identify areas of the framework (COBIT5) that need to be improved in line with the strategic objectives of the bank.

Information technology at the service of city management in Russia

Today in Russia, the problems of effective urban development and urban infrastructure management are relevant. To solve these important tasks, information technologies are being introduced in municipalities, and therefore, the quality of work and productivity of city services are being improved, resource consumption is being reduced, and communication between city residents and local authorities is improving. Moscow is a metropolis that has all the necessary information, intellectual and financial resources to successfully solve the important task of improving the efficiency of city management. Now in Moscow there are more than 16 thousand access points to the network in different segments: on the streets of the city center, where there are many tourist routes, in parks, libraries, museums, cinemas. By the number of access points to free Wi-Fi, Moscow has become one of the world leaders. A new task for the Government of the capital is to improve the quality of the network. For this, a single Wi-Fi operator has already been created, the task of which is to combine all segments created by different operators on a single digital platform. Thanks to this, users will no longer have to re-authorize, switching between access points. The article talks about the problems and prospects of implementing information technology for managing various aspects of the life of a metropolis. The introduction and innovative use of information technology helps to improve the quality and efficiency of management, reduce administrative costs and improve the level and quality of life of the population.

Gatekeepers’ innovative use of IT: An absorptive capacity model at the unit level

This paper examines the potential role of gatekeepers’ innovative use of information technology (IT) in organizational units and its ability antecedents. Using absorptive capacity theory as our theoretical lens, we theorize a model of innovative use of IT at the unit level. The proposed model was empirically validated using a survey of 204 unit gatekeepers. This paper develops a preliminary model of innovative use of IT that can inform and guide future research, specifically focusing on the key role of gatekeepers and the abilities needed by users in this role that can help in using IT in an innovative manner.

Innovative IT firms and the internal control environment

Internal control over financial reporting is mandated by the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002. Given the integral role of information technology (IT) in financial processing and reporting, IT is hypothesised to be a contributor to the strength of a firm's internal controls. This study explores the relationship between innovative use of IT and internal control weaknesses. The analysis indicates that firms that are ranked in the Information Week 500 as innovative users of IT are less likely to be cited by their auditors for internal control weaknesses. Implications include the importance of solid IT governance practices and a strong focus on IT controls in today's heavily IT-enabled business environments.

Building capacity in implementation science research training at the University of Nairobi.

BackgroundHealth care systems in sub-Saharan Africa, and globally, grapple with the problem of closing the gap between evidence-based health interventions and actual practice in health service settings. It is essential for health care systems, especially in low-resource settings, to increase capacity to implement evidence-based practices, by training professionals in implementation science. With support from the Medical Education Partnership Initiative, the University of Nairobi has developed a training program to build local capacity for implementation science.MethodsThis paper describes how the University of Nairobi leveraged resources from the Medical Education Partnership to develop an institutional program that provides training and mentoring in implementation science, builds relationships between researchers and implementers, and identifies local research priorities for implementation science.ResultsThe curriculum content includes core material in implementation science theory, methods, and experiences. The program adopts a team mentoring and supervision approach, in which fellows are matched with mentors at the University of Nairobi and partnering institutions: University of Washington, Seattle, and University of Maryland, Baltimore. A survey of program participants showed a high degree satisfaction with most aspects of the program, including the content, duration, and attachment sites. A key strength of the fellowship program is the partnership approach, which leverages innovative use of information technology to offer diverse perspectives, and a team model for mentorship and supervision.ConclusionsAs health care systems and training institutions seek new approaches to increase capacity in implementation science, the University of Nairobi Implementation Science Fellowship program can be a model for health educators and administrators who wish to develop their program and curricula.

Information systems to support sustainable consumption and sustainable supply

Responding to rising concerns about environmental sustainability, governments around the world have committed to the promotion of more sustainable consumption patterns [7]. Mainstream approaches to promoting sustainable consumption often involve government interventions to correct prices, and to provide regulatory frameworks to influence producers to become more eco-efficient [17]. Unfortunately, the success of these actions is frequently limited by information barriers. Consumers have limited information about the social and environmental impacts of products, and have long relied instead on price information as well as information available on the product package in making their buying decisions [15]. This lack of information creates difficulties for consumers when assessing and understanding the implications of their choices. Similarly, lack of integrated information systems that can capture, process and deliver actionable information about environmental impacts to all members in the sustainable supply chain could potentially disrupt the entire chain. These disruptions could, in turn, create higher costs and risks for all actors in the supply chain. Despite the connection between sustainable consumption and sustainable supply chain management, current research shows little integration between these areas. Recent technological developments have the potential to streamline the information flow from producer to consumer within supply chains, helping consumers to make more sustainable buying choices. Ontologies, Linked Data, and Semantic Web technologies can handle the problems that arise when integrating massive amounts of multi-thematic and multi-perspective information from heterogeneous sources to answer complex questions that cut through supply chain domain boundaries. The innovative use of information technologies could reduce the ‘‘information asymmetry’’ that pervades modern supply chains. Reducing barriers to information would benefit not only consumers but also other actors in the supply chain. This special issue focuses on how information and communication technology (ICT) can be leveraged to achieve sustainable consumption and sustainable supply chain management. One of the key objectives is to promote in-depth discussion on the technological, managerial, social, economic, and political implications of developing ICT capacity to support sustainability. In addition, we wish to generate insightful discussions on the connections between sustainable consumption and sustainable supply chain research.
