Didactic digital tools and autonomous learning in information technology engineering students at Uleam, Chone Extension

The technological scenario has transformed the way people communicate, learn and carry out daily activities. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been proven that technology has provided many advantages, but challenges related to access and security have also been generated, making it essential to guarantee that all people have the same opportunities related to scientific access. The objective was to evaluate the use of digital didactic tools in the autonomous learning of information technology engineering students of the ULEAM Chone extension, the study was descriptive with the quantitative approach, the inductive-deductive method was applied, the review of information and the statistical method. Among the instruments used in the work, a structured survey was used for the 16 teachers and information technology students with a total population of 193 students, applying the Larry and Murray formula with a sample of 89 schoolchildren. It is concluded that digital tools offer advantages in autonomous learning such as time optimization, in addition to allowing the analysis of various investigative approaches, even though there are factors that affect the educational field for the application of digital tools such as social, cultural, political and economic.

Comparative Legal Analysis of IT Legislation of Russia and Sweden

INTRODUCTION. This article provides a compre­hensive analysis of the regulatory frameworks govern­ing the information technology (IT) sector in both Russia and Sweden and encompasses a comparative assessment of key legal instruments, concepts, and regulatory approaches, including the responsibility for cybercrimes, licensing procedures, standardization practices, and the safety of critical informational in­frastructure. Additionally, this article examines the roles and functions of major governing authorities in both countries.MATERIALS AND METHODS. The article is based on relevant legal acts of Russia and Sweden. While there are certain specific laws focused entirely on the informational technologies, some provisions can be found in other types of legal documents (for example criminal codes or governmental regulations). Employ­ing a comparative approach, the study delineates the scope and authority of state institutions involved in the IT sphere.RESEARCH RESULTS. Both Russian and Sweden exhibit similarities when it comes to definition of es­sential concepts such as critical infrastructure, reflect shared concerns regarding for example security issues. Main laws in the area of information technology con­tain a spectrum of key terms, including but not limited to information and communication network / elec­tronic communication network, information system operator, and information protection / network and information system security. Although the list of key definitions may appear quite similar, the Swedish leg­islation tends to offer broader definitions with the in­tention of encompassing larger domains within IT technologies, while the Russian legislators focus on more specific terms. However, while Sweden aligns closely with European Union (EU) regulatory frame­work, Russia adopts a more expansive approach, ad­dressing emerging technological challenges such as AI. In conclusion, achieving effective IT regulation neces­sitates finding a balance between international con­sistency and national adaptability to ensure strong cybersecurity, foster innovation, and maintain regula­tory flexibility in a dynamic digital environment.DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS. Sweden’s re­liance on implementing EU regulations has its benefits such as harmonisation, interoperability, adopting the internationally recognised practices, easier market ac­cess, etc. However, this approach may limit the coun­try's ability to meet its specific needs and may mean additional administrative burdens associated with compliance with EU directives. Moreover, changes in EU regulations could lead to a necessity to update do­mestic laws, potentially causing regulatory vacuum or legal collisions, especially in such sphere as the IT sec­tor. Nowadays, when for example the AI and its risks are on the daily agenda one can not look away and wait for the international community to agree on the applicable regulation.

An Examination of Black Undergraduate Women's Intersectional Experiences and Academic Motivation in Computing Education

Objectives. We aim to understand, from a motivational perspective, how Black undergraduate women in computing make sense of their intersectional computing experiences. We examine their motivation to major in computing, their experiences as Black women in computing, and how these vary across institutional contexts. Participants. A sample of 77 Black undergraduate women in computing programs (computer science, computer engineering, information systems, information technology, and software engineering) from diverse college settings was recruited to participate in the study. Study Method. Participants responded to an online survey that included several Likert-scale measures for identity, motivation and retention variables, demographic questions, and two open-ended questions: Why did you choose to study computing? and What is it like for you to be a Black female student in computing? Findings. Key themes that emerged from our quantitative and qualitative analyses revealed the range of motivational factors driving Black undergraduate women to study computing and the nuances across their intersectional experiences in the computing education context. Additionally, Black undergraduate women located in HBCU computing education contexts demonstrated both similar and unique perspectives and experiences compared to their counterparts in non-HBCU settings. Conclusions. In addition to the isolation, pressure, power dynamics and epistemic violence experienced by Black women in the intersectional computing education context, the findings of this study display the unique cultural-social-psychological strengths of Black women in their positive valence and resilience, as well as their joy, empowerment, and achievement in computing. Increasing and complicating our knowledge of the motivations and intersectional experiences of Black women in undergraduate computing education, as well as understanding when and how their beliefs and perspectives vary across institutional context, will better inform efforts to retain them and promote their success both in college and into their careers.

Education and identity: reflections on tutoring at the Metropolitan Polytechnic University of Hidalgo

The project aims to analyze whether the teacher's profile has any influence during the development of the tutorial action in the educational program of Information Technology Engineering of the Metropolitan Polytechnic University of Hidalgo (UPMH), which emerged in 2008 having as a framework for creation, the implementation of Polytechnic Universities to provide greater coverage to the need for higher education in the State of Hidalgo, offering innovative and high-quality educational programs that respond to the productive demands of today's society. Based on these guidelines, in the month of April 2010, the objective is to know the results of the Tutoring, in accordance with what is established in the institutional program of academic support for students, an evaluation of the program was carried out through the application of two surveys, in which students and tutors participated, obtaining indicators such as 100% of the registered enrollment had an assigned tutor, the students generally stated that they knew what it was and what the objective of tutoring was, however 60% in comments consider it irrelevant, due to the lack of planning and monitoring by the tutor teacher.

Collaborative Security in Wireless Networks and Vulnerabilities Assessment for Fintech E-payment Companies: A Bibliometric Analysis

The purpose behind the technical analysis and science mapping in front of researchers to make them aware of the Internet of Things and mobile networking for providing collaborated security along with a visualized presentation to the financial and engineering researchers about the virtual vulnerability assessment issues. The objectives of this study are to analyze the available review of the literature and measure the most cited Journals through citation analysis and co-authorship analysis. The approach of BA (Bibliometric Analysis) has been executed in order to visualize literature reviews systematically. The researcher performed an in-depth study with reference to Collaborative Security and wireless networks (582), Collaborative Security and vulnerability assessment (253) and WiFi Security and Vulnerability Assessment (34) studies are available. The figures have been made through executing data over VOSviewer and tables are formed after compiling various affiliations. This technical study will help provide a literature base for more research to be executed in the arena of Information Systems (IS), Engineering, Computer Sciences, and Financial Technology. Also, it will provide a conceptual record for those practitioners and policymakers who are interested in performing exploratory research on wifi security assessment. It has been observed that more work can be done quantitatively for having certain measures regarding the virtual aspects of collaborative security amid its issues related to payment systems. The revolution of IT technologies in the transport economy: application and essence

The article focuses on the study of the use of information technology (IT) in the transport economy and its impact on this industry. The main objectives of the study were to identify key technological trends in the transport industry, analyse their advantages and challenges, as well as assess the prospects for the development of IT technologies in this area. Based on the literature review and analysis of existing technological solutions, the following results were identified: IT technologies can improve the efficiency and safety of transport systems, reduce the negative impact on the environment and improve customer service. However, there are several challenges, such as data security issues, standardization and regulation, that require attention and solutions. The study highlights the importance of developing and integrating IT technologies into the transport economy and warns of the need for a balance between innovation and regulation. In general, the development of IT technologies in the transport industry promises to create a smarter, more stable and convenient system, contributing to improving the quality of life and economic growth.

A serious maintenance management game for decision-making on digitized railway assets

The life cycles of information technology (IT) components are notably distinct in both duration and nature when compared to their physical counterparts, commonly referred to as operational technology (OT). However, OT is increasingly getting converged with IT technologies. To ensure effective oversight of these converged IT/OT assets throughout their life spans, it is imperative to align the various stakeholders. Critical areas for achieving this alignment in the context of IT/OT converged assets encompass cybersecurity and the management of maintenance processes. This paper presents a design for a “Maintenance Management Game”. The purpose of this game is to educate maintenance professionals managing IT/OT converged assets. As part of the game mechanics, the players must make decisions trading off the different objectives and needs of a fictional railway company. The game mechanics are developed using design science research and employ the iterative process of participatory prototyping. The initial findings indicate that the game is an engaging approach to learn about managing and maintaining digitized railway assets.

Writing Difficulties for Research Scholars Pursuing PhDs in Engineering

This study explored engineering graduates' academic writing challenges while pursuing their doctoral degrees in information technology, electronics and communication engineering, mechanical engineering, and textile engineering. The focus was on grammar, vocabulary, syntax, coherence and cohesion difficulties. Data were collected by a survey to gain first-hand information from 88 PhD researchers in these collages of engineering. Results revealed that these graduates needed help in syntax, general vocabulary and discourse functions in writing. Punctuation was one of the least problematic of all areas under examination. In light of these findings, some remedial measures are suggested to develop a better sense of cohesion and coherence in scientific-technical discourse. Understanding and applying organizational strategies in writing facilitated through peer reviews and tutor reviews would be a source of support. Paraphrasing strategies is another area in which scholars need plenty of practice. They need to be taught to apply all these strategies without abandoning source material for want of paraphrasing skills.

ENERGY SECURITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM IN SMALL PORTS

The purpose of the article is to describe a prototype system for managing energy security in small ports based on the use of IT technology. Additional evaluation of the usability of the described sytem will be carried out based on the main pillars of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, which include the integration of advanced information technology (IT), automation (OT), "Internet of Things" (IoT) and artificial intelligence (AI) systems. This affects IT systems, which are becoming more complex and sophisticated all the time. This causes an increase in dependencies - the more complex the information system, the more complex the security must be.In the described system there will be the use of a modular system of hybrid installation of renewable energy sources mainly from wind energy, photovoltaics and biogas, stored in an energy storage. Based on the use of energy storage and management of technology through a secure intelligent information network, the needs for storage and secure transmission of information and data, green electricity production, in accordance with the priorities of the European Union (green energy, green transformation European data strategy) will be described. The article also presents the types of renewable energy sources (RES) in relation to the use of systems supporting their management. The author will also try to answer the question whether such measures will significantly strengthen the energy security of a modern organization.

A Java Application for Teaching Graphs in Undergraduate Courses

Graph theory is a common topic that is introduced as part of the curricula of computing courses such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Technology and Software Engineering. Understanding graphs is fundamental for solving many real-world problems, such as network routing, social network analysis, and circuit design; however, many students struggle to grasp the concepts of graph theory, as they often have difficulties in visualising and manipulating graphs. To overcome these difficulties, educational software can be used to aid in the teaching and learning of graph theory. This work focuses on the development of a Java system for graph visualisation and computation, called MaGraDa (Graphs for Discrete Mathematics), that can help both students and teachers of undergraduate or high school courses that include concepts and algorithms related to graphs. A survey on the use of this tool was conducted to explore the satisfaction level of students on a Discrete Mathematics course taken as part of a Computer Engineering degree at the University of Alicante (Spain). An analysis of the results showed that this educational software had the potential to enhance students’ understanding of graph theory and could enable them to apply these concepts to solve practical problems in the field of computer science. In addition, it was shown to facilitate self-learning and to have a significant impact on their academic performance.

Exploring the Impact of Self-Concept and IT Identity on Social Media Influencers’ Behavior: A Focus on Young Adult Technology Features Utilization

This research investigates the inspiration of self-concept and Information Technology (IT) identity on the behavior of Social Media Influencers (SMI), specifically regarding their utilization of technology features. With the advent of social media, individuals have been presented with a unique opportunity to showcase their creativity and connect with a broader audience, known as “followers.” Drawing upon the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT), this study examines the relationship between SMIs behavior in utilizing technology features, self-concept, and IT identity within the context of social media platform usage. The research methodology employed in this study is partial least squares (PLS) regression, providing a comprehensive understanding of how individuals’ self-concept shapes their IT identity concerning the usage of social media platform features. The findings of this study have significant implications for businesses seeking to engage with SMIs and individuals aiming to establish their presence on social media. The research highlights TikTok’s potential as a platform for self-expression and personal brand development, underscoring the importance of self-concept and IT identity in the realm of SMIs.

An Intuitionistic Fuzzy Decision Support for Agile Project Selection Problem

In the early 1990s, organizations started to use information technology and software engineering, which encouraged the companies for employing project management methodologies to survive and then advance in competitive technologic environment. Use of project management methodologies provides efficient planning, budgeting and scheduling processes and high management quality for companies. A lot of different methodologies were developed and used to reach better ways of defining the project requirements, analyzing the problem, and implementing it in a systematic manner. In 2001, agile project management methodology came forward in response to cope with waterfall project methodology’s limitations that arise from unpredictability of technology evolution, customer requirements, and unstable business environments. In this study, intuitionistic fuzzy COPRAS method, which aims to obtain a solution relative to the ideal solution, is used to rank agile project alternatives and identify the best performing one among them. Intuitionistic fuzzy sets are used to deal with loss of information and hesitation in data that may occur in operations with fuzzy numbers. The application of the proposed intuitionistic fuzzy decision-making approach is illustrated by conducting a case study.

Influence Of Information Technology On Youth

Information technology (IT) is a set of methods and tools used to collect, store, process, and disseminate information. This is a general concept that describes various mechanisms, devices, algorithms, and data processing methods based on computer technology. At present, human life is increasingly dependent on IT technology in different ways. Every day, people go to social networks, check the news, chat with friends, and all this happens with the help of cellphones, which are representatives of modern IT technologies. At work, individuals most often perform their functions using computers and other technologies and devices (Lareki et al., 2017). Due to their use, society can perform various types of activities. From the point of view of development, modern technologies greatly simplify life in many ways and save time that can be used for comprehensive development and self-improvement. Information technologies are developing at an unprecedented pace, and they have conquered almost all spheres of human life. In this regard, a number of psychological problems have arisen associated with the development of personality, requiring theoretical understanding and integration of various areas of psychology. One of the issues is linked with the negative aspects of human-computer interaction and the resulting psychological dependencies, computer anxiety, and self-efficacy (Lareki et al., 2017). Nevertheless, there are also positive aspects of the influence of information and communication technologies on human mental activity. At the initial stage of using computers, psychological problems were associated with acquiring new technologies by a person. However, later on, scientists drew attention to emerging problems when using advanced technologies. In particular, this is a danger of withdrawal into cyberspace as a result of excessive enthusiasm for IT. Scientists have also described the positive aspects of the influence of information and communication technologies on personality development (Lareki et al., 2017). For example, by using IT technology, people can expand their knowledge dramatically and evolve their problem-solving skills.

An Empirical Investigation of Engineering Students' Attitute Towards Sports and Physical Education, Cultural Activities and Stress Management

Abstract: This study gives an empirical perspective regarding engineering students towards sports and physical education, cultural activities and stress management. This research examines various motives for participation and non-participation in various activities. College students involved in lot of stress due to academic work, competition, daily hassles, parental expectations etc. Total sample of 270 respondents who were pursuing Bachelor of Engineering was selected. The students chosen for the study were from departments of Electronics and Telecommunication (E&TC), Computer Science (CSE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), Information Technology (IT) and Electrical Engineering (EE). Chi-square testing was used to taste the stated hypothesis in Research Methodology. This research concludes that students perusing engineering are actively involved in various activities because they are aware of benefit of active participation in sports, physical education and cultural events. At the same time they are also aware about stress management and what are most important causing factors of stress. Result of Hypothesis testing proves that Stress Management is directly proportional to EducationalPerformance & Parental Expectation. Sports activities found significant impact on Physical Fitness whereas participation in cultural events if directly related to Stress Management. The Leadership Style of the Program Chair in Improving the Performance of Lectures and Its Relevance to the Quality of Education: A Case Study of the Informatics Engineering Program at ITB Swadharma

This research examines the significance of effective leadership and job performance in achieving organizational or company goals. The research focuses on the leadership style adopted by the head of the information technology engineering study program in improving the performance of lecturers and its relevance to the quality of education in the program. This research holds important value in providing recommendations to decision-makers in educational quality improvement programs to face increasing competition in the higher education industry. This section highlights the importance of effective leadership and job performance in motivating and guiding employees to achieve organizational goals and their impact on the quality of education. Good leadership can involve various aspects, such as providing direction, implementing plans, and motivating organizational members to work effectively. The factors that support educational quality in the implementation model of Total Quality Management include: 1) leadership, 2) customer-focused approach, 3) organizational climate, 4) problem-solving teams, 5) meaningful data, 6) scientific methods and tools, and 7) education and training. The data sources used in this research include: 1) secondary data from internal and external evaluation reports, 2) questionnaires to measure the perceptions of students and lecturers, 3) interviews with the head of the study program, lecturers, students, and alumni, 4) policy documents and strategic plans, and 5) statistical data on the performance of lecturers and students.
