Information System Interoperability Strategy to Support Command and Control of Border Security Operations in the North Natuna Sea

In order to maintain the superiority of effective control over the entire territory of Indonesia, especially in disputed areas, Indonesia through the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) conducts Border Security Operations between countries. The purpose of this study was to analyze the interoperability of the TNI information system in the Border Security Operation in the North Natuna Sea and the TNI information system interoperability strategy to support the Border Security Operation code in the North Natuna Sea. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative data through observation, interviews and documentation. The findings of this study are that the information system, both software, hardware, and brainware is not optimal in responding to threats at the border. Regulations at the technical level are not yet precise, flexible, interoperable, besides that there are different regulatory perceptions between forces, there is no standardization of regulations, as well as sectoral egos. Blueprints and grand strategies are mandatory, as well as knowledge management in determining priorities, coupled with the use of artificial intelligence in the TNI information system to realize the efficiency of TNI information system personnel.

Analysis of Policy, Infrastructure Facilities and Human Resources in Preparation for Re-Accreditation

Accreditation is an acknowledgment of the public health center agency, by an independent accreditation agency set by the Minister of Health after meeting the first level health facility service standards to improve the quality of services on an ongoing basis. Puskesmas Bagansiapapi is a middle-accredited puskesmas that will go through a re-accreditation process scheduled for 2020 and is planned to be a pilot health center in Rokan Hilir district. Based on the results of initial interview with Head and Staff of Public Health center, there are some recommendations from surveyors for 2020’s re-accreditation preparation such as policies, infrastructure and human resources. Downstream 2020.This type of research is qualitative descriptive exploratory research with in-depth interviews, observation and document review with the respondents of the quality head, an admin’s leader, an UKM’s Leader, the head of UKP, the Head of Public Health Center and the Internal Health Staff. The results showed that the preparatory policies for accreditation had been implemented well. The facilities and infrastructure in preparation for accreditation have not met Permenkes 43 of 2019 and have not met the needs of the community. Judging from the adequacy of human resources has not met the standard Permenkes No. 43 of 2019 in the form of environmental sanitation workers, health information system personnel, financial administration staff, administrative staff and those needed by medical record health centers and information technology workers.Preparation for Puskesmas Bagansiapiapi accreditation in policy has been well implemented, infrastructure and human resources do not meet standards.

American Society for Clinical Pathology's 2019 Wage Survey of Medical Laboratories in the United States.

To inform the pathology and laboratory field of the most recent national wage data. Historically, the results of this biennial survey have served as a basis for additional research on laboratory recruitment, retention, education, marketing, certification, and advocacy. The 2019 Wage Survey was conducted through collaboration of the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Institute of Science, Technology, and Policy in Washington, DC, and the ASCP Board of Certification in Chicago, Illinois. Compared with 2017, results show an overall increase in salaries for most laboratory occupations surveyed except cytogenetic technologists, laboratory information systems personnel, and performance improvement or quality assurance personnel. Geographically, laboratory professionals from urban areas earned more than their rural counterparts. As retirement rates continue to increase, the field needs to intensify its efforts on recruiting the next generation of laboratory personnel. To do so, the report urged the field to highlight advocacy for better salaries for laboratory personnel at the local and national levels when developing recruitment and retention strategies.

EFFECTS OF ACCOUNTING INFORMATION SYSTEM ON ORGANIZATION PERFORMANCE IN NIGERIA

This paper examines accounting information system on performance of corporate organizations in Nigeria. The role of professionals in accounting, information technology and academics were explored. To attain the aim of the study, 30 questionnaires were administered and 25 retrieved which was analysed and the single factor ANOVA technique was used to test the hypothesis. Findings from the research depicted accounting information systems have a positive impact on corporate organizations performance in Nigeria because the observed F of 251.43 obtained was greater than F critical value of 2.74. As recommended, corporate organizations should massively invest in accounting information system, adopt merit-based recruitment and ensure periodic training of accounting information systems personnel.

RANCANG BANGUN SISTEM INFORMASI KEPEGAWAIAN BERBASIS JAVA STUDI KASUS KANTOR KELURAHAN BUARAN INDAH

Buaran Indah urban village office located in Tangerang district, Tangerang City. Personnel data processing system that is running at Buaran Indah village office has not been computerized. This has an impact on data retrieval process which takes longer time. So to overcome this it is necessary information system personnel who can overcome the existing problems in order to present personnel information quickly and accurately. This research uses prototype method and system design is implemented with Unified Modeling Language (UML). The expected final result is that the proposed personnel information system can overcome the existing problems on the current system, including more leverage in the process of data processing employees and payroll calculations that require a high level of accuracy and ease in preparing reports and search personnel data. With this research is expected to help Buaran Indah village office to manage personnel data.

Impact of Accounting Information Systems' Quality on the Relationship between Organizational Culture and Accounting Information in Jordanian Industrial Public Shareholding Companies

This study aims to identify the impact of the accounting information systems quality on the relationship between organizational culture and accounting information in Jordanian industrial public shareholding companies. The study population consists of all Jordanian industrial public shareholding companies (n= 63).To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher developed a questionnaire based on relevant literature and distributed it to the sample unit of the study population (5 questionnaires per company) including finance managers, internal audit managers, IT managers, accounting department heads and accountants in Jordanian industrial public shareholding companies. The total number of questionnaires distributed was 315, of which 300 were retrieved. Three questionnaires were eliminated after the filtering process; therefore the total number of analyzed questionnaires was 297. Simple regression analysis and path analysis were used to examine the hypotheses of the study. The main results were as follows: There is an impact for the quality of accounting information systems on the relationship between organizational cultures and accounting information in Jordanian industrial public shareholding companies. Based on the study results, the researchers reached a number of recommendations, including: Organizational culture should receive the attention it deserves, due to its impact on the quality of accounting information systems through enhancing the practices of accounting information system personnel.

Near-Real-Time Cheatgrass Percent Cover in the Northern Great Basin, USA, 2015

On the Ground Cheatgrass (Bromus tectorum L.) dramatically changes shrub steppe ecosystems in the Northern Great Basin, United States. Current-season cheatgrass location and percent cover are difficult to estimate rapidly. We explain the development of a near-real-time cheatgrass percent cover dataset and map in the Northern Great Basin for the current year (2015), display the current years map, provide analysis of the map, and provide a website link to download the map (as a PDF) and the associated dataset. The near-real-time cheatgrass percent cover dataset and map were consistent with non-expedited, historical cheatgrass percent cover datasets and maps. Having cheatgrass maps available mid-summer can help land managers, policy makers, and Geographic Information Systems personnel as they work to protect socially relevant areas such as critical wildlife habitats.

On the Co-Evolution of Information Technology and Information Systems Personnel

This essay addresses changes in information systems (IS) personnel and information technology over the past seven decades (1950s-2010s). A co-evolutionary perspective guides the discussion and emphasizes the mutual influence of changes in technology and IS personnel. The review considers (1) major eras of technical innovation and the steady expansion of the boundary that includes IS personnel; (2) the cyclical nature of a surge of needed technical skills with each technical innovation, a growing "shielding" of end users from the details of operationalizing the technology, and growth of end user domain application skills; and (3) implications for the education of IS personnel.

The Relative Importance of Technical and Interpersonal Skills for New Information Systems Personnel

Computer personnel need a balance of both technical and interpersonal skills to develop information systems (ISs) that meet users' requirements. Organizations which recruit IS graduates were surveyed to better understand the necessary skills for new IS personnel, and the relative importance of those different skills.New IS graduates must have strong written and oral communication abilities. The Impact of Business Expertise on Information System Data and Analytics Resilience (ISDAR) for Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: An Exploratory Study

Disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity (BC) have been important areas of inquiry for both business managers and academicians. It is now widely believed that for achieving sustainable business continuity, a firm must be able to recover from both man-made and natural disasters. This is especially true for maintaining and recovering the lifeline of the organization and its data. Although the literature has discussed the importance of disaster recovery and business continuity, there is not much known about how Information System Data Analytics Resilience (ISDAR) and the organization’s ability to recover from lost information. In this research, we take a step in this direction and analyze the relationship of IS personnel expertise on ISDAR and investigate Information System (IS) personnel understanding of the firm’s competitive priorities, IS Personnel understanding of business policies and objectives, IS personnel’s ability to solve business problems, IS personnel initiatives in changing business processes and their determination and attentiveness to focus on achieving confident leadership in data and analytics resilience. We collected data through a survey of IS and business managers from 302 participants. Our results show that there is evidence to support our hypothesis and that there may indeed be a relationship between these variables.

Evaluation Assurance Levels for Human Resource Security of an Information System

Present methods for evaluating reliance on the information system security do not take into account the socio-technical nature of the information system and modern humanitarian approaches to the evaluation of reliance on them. The article defines the term “reliance to the personnel security of the information system” and substantiates a multi-criteria classification that categorizes evaluation levels of the reliance on the information system personnel security. The classification is the scientific novelty of this research. Chronic Care Model Implementation for Cancer Screening and Follow-up in Community Health Centers

The Health Disparities Cancer Collaborative (HDCC) implemented six components of the Chronic Care Model (CCM) to increase cancer screening and follow-up among underserved populations from 2003-05. Organizational surveys were administered among 19 community health centers participating in the HDCC and 22 matched control centers. Health care providers, directors, financial officers, information systems personnel, and general staff completed surveys to measure CCM implementation (primary outcome) and cancer care process improvement (secondary outcome) at the organizational level. The HDCC community health centers were more likely to report CCM implementation than control centers. The HDCC and control centers were equally likely to report cancer care process improvement, but CCM implementation was significantly associated with process improvement in adjusted models. Implementation of CCM, not solely HDCC participation, was associated with cancer care process improvement. Organizational and individual change is challenging among the large, healthy populations eligible for cancer screening.

Knowledge sharing, job attitudes and organisational citizenship behaviour

PurposeThere are very few studies on the impact of job attitude on knowledge sharing. The purpose of this paper is to examine the effects of job involvement, job satisfaction, organisational commitment, and organisational citizenship behaviour (OCB) on employees' knowledge sharing behaviour.Design/methodology/approachThis research is based on a survey of 116 Information Systems personnel in Malaysia. Structural equation modelling is used to test the hypothesis.FindingsThe results show that job involvement, job satisfaction and OCB are independent and positively related to employees' knowledge sharing behaviour. However, organisational commitment has a negative relationship with knowledge sharing behaviour. It is found that OCB is not a significant mediator between job involvement, job satisfaction organisational commitment and knowledge sharing behaviour.Research limitations/implicationsIt is widely reported that knowledge workers may not be willing to share with others since they can always argue that it is not their job to share. Therefore, knowledge sharing can be regarded as an extra job. OCB is an extra‐role behaviour which is especially relevant to research on knowledge sharing. Theories and research methods in OCB may be used in future research on knowledge sharing.Practical implicationsGiven the importance of knowledge sharing in today's competitive business world, this study provides a broader understanding of different dimensions of job attitudes in relation to employees' knowledge sharing behaviours. Our findings suggest that organisational administrators and managers should look into ways of improving the levels of job satisfaction, job involvement, and OCB in order to facilitate knowledge sharing behaviour.Originality/valueThis study makes two distinct additions to the organisational behaviour and knowledge sharing literature. First, job attitudes appear to be significantly related to knowledge sharing behaviour, addressing a research gap in the literature of knowledge sharing and employee attitudes. Second, this study reveals that OCB directly affects knowledge sharing but it does not mediate employees' job attitudes to promote knowledge sharing behaviours.

Organizational Citizenship Behavior of Information System Personnel

Leader-member exchange (LMX) represents the quality of interaction between leaders and members of a work unit, such as the information system function within an organization. LMX is expected to improve organizational citizenship behavior, beneficial behaviors not explicitly rewarded, but prior research has failed to establish this link satisfactorily. To determine the influence of LMX in the IS environment, a model is developed based on the background in the IS and management literature that considers LMX an important contributor to job satisfaction and organizational commitment. In turn, organizational commitment influences both work quality and organizational citizenship behaviors in a beneficial way. The model is confirmed with a sample of IS professionals in Taiwan. The results show that effective communication and coordination is crucial between leaders and subordinates at levels within the organization not previously considered.

Creativity Enhancement

Since the dawn of humanity, creativity has been critical to surmounting the challenges of life. Innovation is particularly essential to survival on every level from an individual solving his/her problems to a world dependent on adaptive approaches to cope with rapidly expanding populations and enormous international tensions. Currently, information systems programs are not fostering the creativity needed to sustain the innovation required to compete in the 21st century marketplace. Educators and researchers need to better understand the effects of creativity training on creative performance to best design programs that meet the needs of information systems personnel and their employers. The results of this study provide evidence that it would be valuable for organizations to experiment with creativity tutorials and recommend that future research be conducted using larger samples of individuals with low levels of creativity. Because the costs of informing people about creativity are low and creativity tutorials can be designed to be easily administered and completed, the authors recommend that a low-cost tutorial would be a cost effective and beneficial strategy for organizations to employ with information systems personnel, especially those who assess themselves as low in creativity.
