Role of Knowledge Management Practices in the Economic Performance of Nepalese IT Companies

Organizations are spending substantial resources on information technology (IT) to support the capture, storage, sharing, and retrieval of knowledge as knowledge management (KM) emerges as a fundamental management responsibility. Information systems (IS) development and maintenance inside businesses rely heavily on knowledge management (KM). The major goal of this research is to evaluate how knowledge management strategies affect the organizational performance of Nepalese IT enterprises. A total of 316 respondents’ information has been collected from the Ten IT companies in Nepal. A convenience sampling technique is used to select the sample. A descriptive survey is used as the research design for this investigation. Surveys questionnaires were distributed to gather primary information from the respondents.Both descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze and interpret the results. It was found that all independent factors have a positive correlation with perceived organizational performance in IT companies in Nepal, demonstrating their influence on both. Independent variables have also affected how Nepalese IT businesses are considered to be satisfying the employees.

Tools for monitoring software quality in information systems development and maintenance: five key challenges and a design proposal

As software grows in size and complexity, organizations increasingly apply tools to automatically assess software quality of information systems during development and maintenance. Software quality assessment tools (SWQAT) promise fast and actionable insights into the technical state of software through various quality characteristics, such as maintainability, reliability, or security. These tools have been used to support a wide variety of Information Technology (IT) project management decisions related to system development, contract negotiations, project terminations, and even settling legal disputes between suppliers and clients. However, despite their rising importance, questions regarding how they function and how reliable they are to support decision-making have so far escaped scholarly attention. This paper conducts an evaluation of widely used SWQATs and analyzes how they rate the quality of software systems of varying sizes, functionalities, and programming languages. Our results reveal five key challenges for using SWQATs in IT projects. To address these challenges, we propose a design for tailorable SWQATs that allows for more conscious and prudent software quality assessments that better reflect the socio-technical aspect of software systems and the context-specific nature of software quality.

A STUDY ON COLD CHAIN MAINTENANCE AND VACCINE MANAGEMENT PRACTICES OF URBAN GOVERNMENT HEALTH FACILITIES IN JABALPUR DISTRICT, INDIA

Introduction: Efficient cold chain and vaccine logistics management are made possible by the health system's processes, practices, and policies, which are evaluated by Effective Vaccine Management, a diagnostic tool. A significant number of urban Jabalpur children receive vaccinations from a government health facility.The aim of the study wasto Assessthe cold chain maintenance and vaccine management practices at urban government Cold Chain Points of Jabalpur district.Methods:A cross-sectional study was carried out at all of 13 urban government ColdChain Points across Jabalpur district. Globally validated World Health Organization -United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund Effective Vaccine Management tool was used for this study. Criteria wise and Consolidated Effective Vaccine Management scores were calculated as per World Health Organization guidelines. Results: All the urban service point stores or cold chain points scored more than the target 80% in two criteria: storage capacity and building. The consolidated criteria score of all the cold chain points in urban Jabalpur, criteria like maintenance, stock management, management information system, and supportive functions, were lagging behind the 80% mark. Low scores in maintenance, stock management, and management information system and supportive functions criteria are somehow a setback for all the preparationand hard work done towards optimal vaccine management and supply chain in the area. Conclusion: The overall performance of the urban cold chain points in Jabalpur district was far better as compared to the state-level effective vaccine management assessment done in Madhya Pradesh in 2011 and 2016. Planned preventive maintenance for buildings and equipment needs to be strengthened. Issues like Lack of information for stock management, need for periodic refresher trainings are to be emphasized.

METODE UAT PADA IMPLEMENTASI SISTEM INFORMASI PENYEWAAN DAN PERAWATAN MESIN FOTOCOPY BERBASIS WEB

The Information System is a collection of systems in its aspect consisting of software, hardware and brainware in a structured manner with performance in a gradual and interconnected process so as to create a specific product that is needed by the user, with regard to copiers in companies generally have processes such as leasing and maintenance, then along with the development of a website-based information system that can make it easier for users to carry out the process of renting and maintaining photocopiers, but from the rental and maintenance of photocopiers there are several problem factors that influence it, namely, customers experience difficulties in renting photocopiers which have to wait for stock from the company if stock is not available. available so that it takes quite a long time during the rental process, in the process of handling photocopier maintenance from customers the procedure takes a long time to repair because there is no system that support in service delivery as well as miss communication between technicians and customers in carrying out photocopier maintenance for spare parts needs so that the technician brings the wrong spare parts when the customer experiences problems from the photocopier, the purpose of which is a reference for research is to create an information system for leasing and maintaining photocopiers for staff and customers at PT. Micostar Karyagraha, Based on these 3 problems as a solution, an information system is needed for the process of renting and maintaining photocopier machines in a website-based performance, besides that tests were carried out using UAT on 50 respondents on 28 staff and 22 customers, the results are good with an average percentage of 82.36%, the final stage of the results of the machine rental and maintenance information system photocopies made for staff and customers on a website basis.

Critical success factors for DevOps adoption in information systems development

Adopting DevOps is challenging since it makes a significant paradigm shift in the Information Systems Development process. DevOps is a trending approach attached to the Agile Software Development Methodology, which facilitates adaptation to the customers' rapidly-changing requirements. It keeps one front step by introducing software operators who support the transmission between software and implementation into the software development team by confirming faster development, quality assurance, and easy maintenance of Information Systems (IS). However, software development companies reported challenges in adopting DevOps. It is critical to control those challenges while getting hold of the benefits by studying Critical Success Factors (CSF) for adopting DevOps. This study aimed to analyze the use of DevOps approach in IS developments by exploring CSFs of DevOps. A systematic literature review was applied to identify CSFs. These factors were confirmed by interviewing DevOps practitioners while identifying more frequent CSFs in the software development industry. Finally, the research presents a conceptual model for CSFs of DevOps, which is a guide to reap the DevOps benefits while reducing the hurdles for enhancing the success of IS. The conceptual model presents CSFs of DevOps by grouping them into four areas: collaborative culture, DevOps practices, proficient DevOps team, and metrics & measurement.

Managing the security of information systems with partially observable vulnerability

We consider the security maintenance of information systems where the extent of vulnerability is partially observable. However, the exact extent of the vulnerability can be observed by paying an inspection fee. In each period, the decision‐maker needs to take one of three decisions: (i) do nothing, (ii) inspect and implement (fix the vulnerability) if needed, and (iii) directly implement. We prove that the optimal policy follows a threshold structure. For each value of k (the known vulnerability), there are two thresholds for the partial information: the lower of the two thresholds dictates whether for this value of k, inspection is optimal before a possible implementation or whether direct implementation (i.e., without inspection) is optimal. If inspection is done, another threshold determines whether an implementation is done or not. If neither threshold applies, it is optimal to do nothing. We develop a numerical procedure to find the decision variables in the maintenance policy. We extend the main model to include variable implementation and inspection costs. The optimality of the threshold policy is shown to hold under more general settings. We apply the model to a real‐world problem and demonstrate its applicability and value in managing security systems. Here, we study the security maintenance policies for three different real‐world telecommunications operators and find that these operators can significantly reduce the cost of managing their security by adopting our proposed policy. Another finding is that inspection is more beneficial for medium‐sized to large‐sized operators.

Information Systems Maintenance

This work deals with the maintenance of information systems—specifically, with the maintenance of information systems that have a focus on teaching and learning. Depending on the context of an information system, there are different influencing factors for the maintenance of these systems. This work clarifies how the maintenance activities and their influencing factors differ in an information system for teaching and learning from other information systems, or why some influencing factors are particularly more important. The first step is to understand what maintenance means, why there is a need for maintenance, and which maintenance strategies can be used. Finally, the defined factors of influencing the maintenance of information systems for teaching and learning are evaluated during interviews with experts in order to be able to determine their relevance. A further part of this document is the influence of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) guidelines on information systems maintenance, which came into force on May 25, 2018. These guidelines of the GDPR affect a large part of all information systems that process data—in particular, the processing of personal data. The GDPR regulates, among other things, the rights and obligations of data processing.

Intelligent Construction of Hospital Management Organization Based on Communication Technology and Information Fusion

With the mature application of 5G communication and the development of artificial intelligence, the deep integration of modern hospital management and information technology has been fully realized. Therefore, this paper explores the organizational structure and system design of our institute and implements the construction and operation of the information system according to the concept of “management institutionalization, organization informatization, and form computerization.” The construction of information management departments was strengthened, the entire 69 information systems with systematic thinking were managed, the dynamic management mechanism of information system operation and maintenance was established, and the fine closed-loop management of hospital processes was realized. The results show that the information system based on institutional management will improve the management efficiency of the hospital and ensure the real-time, accuracy, and security of hospital data information.

Perancangan Front End Pemeriksaan dan Perawatan Wesel dengan Metode User Centered Design

In the era of globalization like now the website becomes very important to spread information or to store data. The internet is one of the tools to spread information that is easy and fast because it can be done anywhere and anytime. With the existence of the internet and websites can be used to store data inspection and note maintenance. At present the Indonesian railroad company is still reporting the results of the inspection and maintenance of the letter of notes manually, making it difficult to find inspection and maintenance information when the supervisor of the railroad company needs to conduct an inspection. The purpose of this research is to build an information system or website inspection and maintenance website (sell maintenance) so that it makes it easier for railroad company employees to store inspection and note maintenance data so that the data becomes more structured. Making a system or website is done by collecting data through Wawan Ways, Observation and Literature Review. Creating the Sell Maintenance website uses the User Centered Design method by applying the PHP programming language and using the Bootstrap framework to make the display more attractive. The result of this study is a website that suits the needs and preferences of users so that it is easier to use and intuitive because in this study conduct direct observations and interactions with users to understand how users use these products or services. In this study after testing the railroad company employees it was found that the presentation font in the reporting status display was changed to make it greater, the notes photo in the asset data display was changed to be smaller so that it was not too much scroll down, the header and footer on the printed display were removed, The font size on the print display is reduced, the size of the photo pixel and the layout are repaired so that they are not too many pages

Upaya Manajemen Kinerja Strategis Perusahaan Melalui Sistem Informasi Pemeliharaan Aset Bergerak Berbasis Web

Research aim : This research aims to design a web-based movable asset maintenance information system as a company's effort to implement strategic performance management.
 Design/Method/Approach : This research method uses the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) method with the use of the waterfall model. In addition, the analysis and design of the system in this research uses the Unified Modeling Language (UML), the PIECES method to identify problems, and Blackbox Testing as a test of the suitability of the system's functionality.
 Research Finding : The results of this study indicate that the functional requirements of the web-based movable asset maintenance information system are following the company's functional requirements based on testing through black box testing.
 Theoretical contribution/Originality : This research is expected to increase knowledge in the field of web-based information system design technology.
 Practitionel/Policy implication : The implementation of strategic performance management through a web-based movable asset maintenance information system has an impact on the digital transformation of the company's activity procedures, the performance of the company's activity procedures which is increasing, data management is carried out centrally, the negative impact of security is reduced, and excellent service is increasing.
 Research limitation : The object of the research is in the Pertamina Patra Niaga, Sultan Syarif Kasim II Pekanbaru Aircraft Filling Depot. In addition, this research is limited to the design of a web-based movable asset maintenance information system.

Integrating Project Management, Software Development, and Knowledge Management Models: A Case Study in a Public ICT Services Organization

In project-based organizations knowledge is a critical resource used to develop and deliver products and services with a high level of quality. Therefore, a systematic and sustainable process is necessary to coordinate knowledge management, project management and product lifecycle. This scenario predominates in companies focused on the creation and maintenance of information systems. This article presents an exploratory study based on a framework that integrates cognitive, managerial, and operational processes in a public Brazilian organization that provides services in the area of information and communications technology, focusing on the construction and maintenance of information systems. Those processes are operationalized by three management models considering knowledge, project, and software development processes. Our proposal aims to understand the relationships between those three management models and their influence on the software development process in the organization under study. Our premise is based on the principle that cognitive management, project management, and software development management must be integrated to fulfill the demands of product development and service provision. The research data was composed of registers of working hours spent on software development and maintenance projects involving 244 people allocated to 5064 projects in the period from 2007 to 2013. The study resulted in the identification of the relationships among the three management models adopted by the organization, with emphasis on knowledge management activities, which were not directly identified, making it difficult to account for and measure them. We established a set of activities connected to each one of the knowledge management model phases. Since those activities were not visible before, our approach contributed to build a systematic process to register and relate activities linked to the dimensions of cognitive processes, project management, and software construction.

Optimal Scheduling Method of Information System Operation and Maintenance Resources Based On Data Perception in Cloud Computing

Through a network, cloud computing provides users with access to computer resources including software and hardware as a service which requires effective scheduling strategies to handle these resources due to the size and dynamic resource provisioning of current data centres. The difficulty in the current scheduling ways to optimise cost and execution time has led us to propose our optimization strategy based scheduling as a solution. This research proposes novel technique in information system based optimal scheduling and resource maintenance for data perception in cloud computing to improve scheduling and resource maintenance of cloud network for operation in information system through meta-heuristic glowwormkernel particle swarm optimization (MGKPSO) and Bayesian network based multi-cloud Software defined networks (SDN). The different cloud service providers selected for this experiment are: LocalStack, Google Cloud, and Amazon Web Services (AWS). The experimental analysis reveals that the proposed technique attained Quality of Service (QoS) of 73%, Throughput of 95%, latency of 67%, data transmission of 81%, Packet delivery ratio (PDR) of 93%.

Maintenance and Construction of West Bandung Witel is one of the work units of PT. Telkom Akses Jawa Barat, whose job is to build and maintain the broadband network owned by PT. Telkom Indonesia which is located in Dayeuh Kolot, Bandung City. In improving performance and activities within the Construction and Maintenance Unit environment, a system or application is needed that can facilitate work data collection. So that the work carried out by the unit can be recorded properly and on time according to the targets set by the company. Based on these problems, with this practical work a web-based system or application is built that can help with existing problems. Making this information system is done by way of data collection, analysis, design, implementation up to testing the information system. The end result of this research is a Maintenance and Construction Administration Information System that can be used to facilitate staff or employees in processing work data.

Leveraging PEPFAR-Supported Health Information Systems for COVID-19 Pandemic Response.

Since 2003, the US President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) has supported implementation and maintenance of health information systems for HIV/AIDS and related diseases, such as tuberculosis, in numerous countries. As the COVID-19 pandemic emerged, several countries conducted rapid assessments and enhanced existing PEPFAR-funded HIV and national health information systems to support COVID-19 surveillance data collection, analysis, visualization, and reporting needs. We describe efforts at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, and CDC country offices that enhanced existing health information systems in support COVID-19 pandemic response. We describe CDC activities in Haiti as an illustration of efforts in PEPFAR countries. We also describe how investments used to establish and maintain standards-based health information systems in resource-constrained settings can have positive effects on health systems beyond their original scope.

PERANCANGAN DAN IMPLEMENTASI SISTEM INFORMASI PEMELIHARAAN DAN PERBAIKAN MESIN (SIMPAN) PADA PT. G+D INDONESIA

G+D Indonesia is a company engaged in the sale and maintenance of banking machines and has been operating in Indonesia since 2008, and has many partners in Indonesia. Today the existing of maintenance system uses manually. The number of partners who must be served after the machine purchase (after sale) needs to be managed properly so that machine maintenance and repairs are scheduled properly. Therefore the maintenance Information System is very much needed to help company in managing and maintenance machine so that service to customers is better.This research aims to 1) build maintenance Information System, 2)provides sevices to customers easily and quickly. This maintenance Information System uses waterfall methode and process design uses UML as a framework to describe the processes that occur, and implemented uses codeigniter as a back end framework using PHP programming language, bootstrap as a front end framework and uses SQLExpress as the database, and Apache as the web server.
