Capturing Home Care Information Management and Communication Processes Among Caregivers of Older Adults: Qualitative Study to Inform Technology Design.

The demand for complex home care is increasing with the growing aging population and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Family and hired caregivers play a critical role in providing care for individuals with complex home care needs. However, there are significant gaps in research informing the design of complex home care technologies that consider the experiences of family and hired caregivers collectively. The objective of this study was to explore the health documentation and communication experiences of family and hired caregivers to inform the design and adoption of new technologies for complex home care. The research involved semistructured interviews with 15 caregivers, including family and hired caregivers, each of whom was caring for an older adult with complex medical needs in their home in Ontario, Canada. Due to COVID-19-related protection measures, the interviews were conducted via Teams (Microsoft Corp). The interview guide was informed by the cognitive work analysis framework, and the interview was conducted using storytelling principles of narrative medicine to enhance knowledge. Inductive thematic analysis was used to code the data and develop themes. Three main themes were developed. The first theme described how participants were continually updating the caregiver team, which captured how health information, including their communication motivations and intentions, was shared among family and hired caregiver participants. The subthemes included binder-based health documentation, digital health documentation, and communication practices beyond the binder. The second theme described how participants were learning to improve care and decision-making, which captured how they acted on information from various sources to provide care. The subthemes included developing expertise as a family caregiver and tailoring expertise as a hired caregiver. The third theme described how participants experienced conflicts within caregiver teams, which captured the different struggles arising from, and the causes of, breakdowns in communication and coordination between family and hired caregiver participants. The subthemes included 2-way communication and trusting the caregiver team. This study highlights the health information communication and coordination challenges and experiences that family and hired caregivers face in complex home care settings for older adults. Given the challenges of this work domain, there is an opportunity for appropriate digital technology design to improve complex home care. When designing complex home care technologies, it will be critical to include the overlapping and disparate perspectives of family and hired caregivers collectively providing home care for older adults with complex needs to support all caregivers in their vital roles.

The Department of Communication and Informatics (Diskominfo) of Southeast Maluku Regency plays a crucial role in supporting local governance and development. They focus on ensuring easy access to information for the public, especially in areas with limited internet coverage or low literacy rates. Diskominfo employs various strategies, including social media, digital platforms, as well as subscription-based radio and television stations. They are also responsible for providing public information services through various online platforms and seven public service applications. The information management process involves stages of collection, clarification, documentation, and distribution with principles of accurate news writing. Despite efforts to improve information access and public services, Diskominfo still faces several challenges such as telecommunication network blank spots, limited infrastructure, and the public's lack of knowledge about government information. To address these challenges, strategic issues such as expanding networks in blank spot areas, enhancing monitoring and evaluation, implementing electronic-based public service systems, and improving human resource capacity must be considered. Diskominfo of Southeast Maluku Regency continues to strive to ensure relevant and accurate information is available to the public, with the hope of supporting the development and empowerment of all layers of society in the region. Research on the Integrated Application of Computer Technology and Information Management

Extent of use of digital technologies for records and information management in selected hospitals in Southwestern Nigeria

This cross-sectional survey aimed to identify the extent of the use of digital technologies in dental hospitals for records and information management. Questionnaire were administered to dental practitioners across six purposely selected dental Hospitals in Southwestern Nigeria. Amongst the 210 copies of questionnaire administered, 162 were completed, retrieved, and fit for the analysis, which resulted in a response rate of 77.1%. The extent of use of digital technologies for information management in the selected hospitals was measured by the period of purchase; number owned; frequency of use; current state of the technology; and the level of automation at the selected hospitals. Based on the period of purchase, most of the respondents (82.1%) have been using digital technologies for below 5 years. As regards the number of digital technologies owned; analysis showed that most (91.3%) of the hospitals have less than or equal to three digital technologies in use for information management. The frequency of use shows that majority (45.7% and 21.6% respectively) of the respondents never and rarely uses digital technologies for information management. However, a further investigation into the current state of the technologies owned showed that most of the respondents (65.4%) of the respondents have non-functional technologies. Furthermore, a 0% value was recorded on the question about the present level of automation of the selected hospitals. This showed that none of the hospitals have fully automated their information management processes. Finally, 80.2% of the respondents agreed that information management processes in their hospitals are totally paper-based.

Design and Implementation of a Primary Healthcare Cloud Platform

This paper presents the design and implementation of a primary healthcare cloud platform that aims to optimize primary medical services through informatization. The cloud platform integrates multiple functional modules including patient information management, diagnostic and treatment processes, pharmaceutical inventory, online appointments, financial management, and data analysis to meet the daily operational needs of primary healthcare institutions. Starting with the project background and current situation analysis, the paper details user needs research and functional design, and gives key discussions on the selection of system architecture and critical technology modules. During system development, technologies such as Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and MySQL were used to build an efficient, stable, and secure platform. The system's reliability was ensured through unit testing, integration testing, system testing, and user acceptance testing. The paper concludes with a look into the future development direction of the platform, including further optimization of user experience, introduction of natural language processing and artificial intelligence technologies, and expansion of collaborative functions between primary healthcare institutions.

Empowering Innovation in Banking Insurance: Expert System for Information Management

Background Nowadays, financial institutions face and solve challenges to optimise Information Management (IM), so the use of new technologies such as Expert Systems (ES) is indispensable. Therefore, the objective of this research is to implement an ES to improve IM in insurance companies. Method In terms of approach, the agile methodology SCRUM was chosen, which consists of five phases: initiation, planning and estimation, implementation, review and retrospective, launch, and thus decision making and optimisation of the IM process. In addition, the following technologies were chosen: ASP.NET as programming language, HTML as markup language, SQL Server as database management and CSS for design and visual styling. Results The results also showed a significant increase of 35% in user service, accompanied by a significant improvement of 44% in report delivery. Finally, a significant improvement of 24% was observed following the implementation of the expert system. This streamlines processes, reduces waiting times, improves the user experience in real time and optimises the management of large volumes of data in the insurance company. Conclusions The system demonstrated that this tool improves decision making, reduces errors in the issuing area and provides a user-friendly interface for information management.

The Application of Cobit 5.0 Framework to Measure Capability of Information and Technology Governance and Management Processes

This study examines the measurement of Information Technology governance and management capability levels using Cobit 5.0. Researchers collected data through questionnaires and interviews. Data processing from questionnaires and interviews can reveal the company's current level. In the EDM domain, the company scored very high in the process that addresses information technology risk optimization. Regular evaluation of business processes is crucial to create alignment and deal with possible risks. To move up to level two, companies must identify and understand the impact of the risks that arise. Companies should enhance their information technology services and security within the domain, perform audits, and report current and future risks. In this domain, companies must identify service capacity, predict future needs, and be ready to face sudden changes. In the DSS domain, companies need to have information system analysis experts conduct training for their staff, identify availability and service problems, and test the ability of their systems to move up to level two.

Can blockchain prevent the deterioration of building handover information quality for higher education institutions?

PurposeThis research investigates the distinct characteristics of blockchain technology to safeguard against the deterioration of handover information quality in the post-construction phase. The significance of effective management of handover information is highlighted by global building failures, such as the Grenfell Tower fire in London, UK. Despite existing technological interventions, there remains a paucity of understanding regarding the factors contributing to the decline in the quality of handover information during the post-construction phase.Design/methodology/approachThis study employed a multi-case studies approach across five higher education institutions. It involved conducting semi-structured interviews with 52 asset management professionals, uncovering the underlying reasons for the decline in handover information quality. Building on these insights, the study performed a mapping exercise to align these identified factors with blockchain technology features and information quality dimensions, aiming to evaluate blockchain’s potential in managing quality handover information.FindingsThe study findings suggest that blockchain technology offers advantages but has limitations in addressing all the identified quality issues of managing handover information. Due to the lack of an automated process and file-based information exchange, updating handover information still requires an error-prone manual process, leading to potential information loss. Additionally, no solutions are available for encoding drawings for updates and validation.Originality/valueThis study proposes a framework integrating blockchain to enhance the information management process and improve handover information quality.

Numerical Simulation and Application of Radial Steel Gate Structure Based on Building Information Modeling under Different Opening Degrees

The safe and stable operation of the radial gate is highly essential for hydropower stations. As the dynamic load of gate, water flow generally causes the irregular distribution of strength, stiffness, and the stability of the gate structure. Traditional simulation technology is usually used to investigate the impact of water flow on gate structure; however, there is a lack of integration and interaction of building information modeling (BIM) and numerical simulation technology to study this issue. Therefore, this paper proposed a computational framework combing BIM and numerical simulation to calculate and analyze the large complex hydraulic radial steel structure. Firstly, the 3D model of the radial gate was established by MicroStation2020, then, the finite element model was output by using it. Secondly, the change laws of strength, stiffness, and stability of the radial gate were analyzed by Ansys-Workbench2020R2 under different opening degrees. The numerical simulation results show that the maximum equivalent stress value was 142.19 MPa, which occurred at the joint between the lower longitudinal beam and the door blade. The maximum deformation was 3.446 mm, which occurred at two longitudinal beams’ middle in the lower part of the panel. When the opening degree is 0.0 m–9.0 m, the natural vibration frequency increases irregularly with the increase in the opening of the gate. Three main vibration modes of the gate vibration were obtained. It proves that it is feasible to analyze the structural performance of radial gates by using BIM and numerical simulation. Finally, the BIM and numerical simulation information management process was established to make the simulation results more valuable. This study expands the application value of BIM and provides a new research idea for large complex hydraulic steel structural analysis. The information management process described in this research can serve as a guide for gate operation and maintenance management.

INFORMATION PROCESSES IN MODERN ENTERPRISE MANAGEMENT IN THE SYSTEM OF VIRTUAL ECONOMY

The developed methodological recommendations regarding the formation of a range of scenarios for the development of industrial enterprise activity, taking into account the indicators of enterprise management information processes based on the construction of management scenarios allow to explore the activity of the enterprise comprehensively. The proposed and implemented recommendations during the evaluation of information management processes of the enterprise, combine the scenario approach and the method of correlation-regression analysis, as well as they allow to determine the impact of integrated indicators of labor, manufacturing and financial sphere on the indicator of ensuring the management effectiveness regarding information processes using different scenarios: pessimistic, neutral, optimistic. An important step in the evaluation process of the enterprise’s activity is to determine the dominant in different development scenarios factors which influence the effectiveness of the information process of industrial enterprise management. Thus, during the pessimistic and neutral scenario, enterprise development is possible by increasing the usage efficiency of production means, such as labor and production funds. During the transformation, process from a pessimistic to a neutral scenario, the role of material incentives increases, in particular, the size of wages. In terms of the optimistic development scenario of enterprise, the priority of the solvency factor is increasing. Identified dominant factors make it possible to influence the state of the enterprise and reduce its sensitivity to changes. The developed methodical approach to the evaluation of the enterprise’s information management process effectiveness is aimed at determining the critical levels of indicators, compliance with these indicators will improve the efficiency of the information management process of an industrial enterprise in case of gradual implementation of its stages. Implementation of the proposed methodological approach based on determination of indicators` limiting values allows to make the transition of the enterprise from a pessimistic development scenario to a neutral one, as well as from a neutral one to an optimistic, which in turn provides an opportunity to determine the target development parameters of the enterprise depending on the current state of its activity.

The important role of intelligent water conservancy in the construction of high-standard farmland

Farmlandis the basis of food production,and also the key and difficult point of agricultural development in China.At present, China’s farmland is generally characterized by small scale, scattered distribution, weak infrastructure, and low level of informatization. High-standard farmland construction is an important policy formulated at the national level to ensure food security and promote agricultural transformation and upgrading. It is based on farmland water conservancy and combines information technology and communication technology with high-standard farmland construction, realizing the whole process of information perception, transmission, and management from field to market. However, China’s farmland water conservancy has problems such as backward irrigation conditions and technology, imperfect supervision and management mechanism, and lack of information professionals. The contradiction between agricultural modernization and high-quality development and insufficient demand for farmland water conservancy has gradually become prominent. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the construction of smart water conservancy, and strengthen the use of Internet of Things, cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence, and other technologies to achieve information sharing and data sharing of high-standard farmland construction, to realize the efficient, accurate, and scientific management of high-standard farmland, and to ensure China’s food security.

Lean maintenance practices in the improvement of information management processes: a study in the Facility Management division

With the trends arising with Industry 4.0, there is an urgent need to reinvent the operations of industrial systems. The area of Facility Management (FM) is no exception and has been undergoing an evolution with the introduction of new information management tools. This paper comprises a study on the impact of lean maintenance in FM, supported by a project developed at a company dedicated to the supply of residential hot water solutions. The study was conducted in the Department of Infrastructure Management and aimed to reduce the waste of information in the area of Operations & Maintenance. Particularly in the practical component, the Lean Maintenance methodology was used to define processes, identify inefficiencies, and select LM tools for waste reduction. In terms of results, it was suggested that LM tools and the reconfiguration of the process can improve the process considering its level of automation, with an increase of 33%, its real time capability, which increased 5%, its first pass yield of information, which increased 11% and its media disruption, which decreased its value in 21%. Thus, it was demonstrated that there is an opportunity for enhancing the processes by taking advantage of Industry 4.0. Based on the contributions of this project, it was possible to conclude that the Lean Maintenance approach applied to the Infrastructure Management sector can have a positive impact on improving the information flow related to the work order management process, and in the process of defining preventive maintenance strategies, thus reducing information waste.

This article delves into the theoretical and practical aspects of applying Lean system methods in information management processes. When implementing the Lean system in corporate management, the primary emphasis is placed on supplier management, quality, and loss elimination. Recognizing information as a crucial organizational resource, comprehensive solutions are deemed necessary for effectively and securely managing company information. The premise is that Lean's 5S and Kanban methodologies have an impact on the promptness and success of information management within the company, facilitating access to pertinent information for all company personnel. The research carried out assessed the significance of Lean system 5S and Kanban methods from the point of view of employees of the administration of a specific company. Information security incident management using iso 27035 standard

The data and information management process at BMKG entails certain risks related to information security incidents. There needs to be more emphasis on addressing these incidents regarding policies, procedures, technology, and human resources. This research project aims to develop an incident management system by ISO 27035 standards. Qualitative research methods have been employed for BMKG Communication Network Center case studies. The approach involves aligning information security incident management with BMKG's business processes. The outcome of this research includes creating policies, documents, and standardized procedures designed to enhance BMKG's capabilities in effectively managing and mitigating incident threats.

The Concept of a Subsystem to Support the Management of the Protection of Intangible Assets of Companies from a Behavioural Perspective

The human factor is the biggest challenge for enterprises in providing the expected level of security, whereas the lack of educated personnel is one of the key problems in building an effective system for protection against data and information threats. A human being is a non-programmable element of the system and it is difficult to predict his or her behavior in information management processes and in the face of a specific event. Humans cannot be programmed like some security applications or hardware solutions with predictable performance. Human actions very often have a stochastic effect on the operation of the system. They can be ill-considered, haphazard, affected by emotions, and taken without due attention and adequate knowledge and experience (Pham et al., 2019). All these imperfections are exploited by those whose goal is to destroy or obtain information. According to data published by several information security companies, attacks carried out by purpose-built bots and web applications that exploit a technical factor (e.g., system vulnerabilities) are becoming increasingly rare, and are being replaced by attacks in which human interaction is a key factor. The curiosity and trust, leading well-meaning individuals to click, install, open, and send information, are being exploited by cybercriminals who are increasingly adept at using social engineering techniques.
 The aim of the present paper is to discuss the theoretical basis of information security issues from the behavioral perspective and to present the concept of a subsystem that implements measures to minimize the impact of the human factor on the emergence of threats to the intangible resources of a business entity. The concept is to create an information and organizational space to support the operation of the traditional information security management system in small and medium-sized enterprises. The concept is presented using the object-oriented approach which focuses on the functional elements of the system, and the subject-oriented approach, which takes into account the relationships between the various individuals who affect the security of the information system. The author's models of each approach were presented along with a description of how they work.

Information and Data Processing Training (INFOLAHTA) with Microsoft Excel for Soldiers and Civil Servants KOREM 052/Wijayakrama Kodam Jaya

Within the KOREM 052/Wijayakrama Kodam Jaya environment, proficient information management and data processing have emerged as important determinants of success. In the contemporary military and civil service, mastery in extracting, analyzing, and interpreting information is indispensable for frontline service members and administrative civil servants. Therefore, this training activity is very relevant and essential in preparing them. Report and Data Processing (INFOLAHTA) addresses this need by equipping participants with the transformative potential of Microsoft Excel, positioned at the intersection of technological advancement and strategic skills. This training, led by Multimedia Nusantara University, facilitates training for soldiers and civil servants in Microsoft Excel to process data and information. The results obtained from the participants, combined with the trainers' expertise and support from KOREM 052/Wijayakrama Kodam Jaya, underscore the transformational impact of INFOLAHTA. Empowered Soldiers and Civil Servants emerge proficient at Excel, ready to perform their roles skillfully and confidently. This Community Outreach activity shows the importance of INFOLAHTA in improving professional competence and fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation. The ongoing impact of this effort is expected to enrich the insights and capabilities of Soldiers and Civil Servants.

Ontological Method for the Modeling and Management of Building Component Construction Process Information

Knowledge of the construction process plays a decisive role in guiding construction and thus affects the quality of buildings. However, the integration and relevance of information in the traditional process file are poor, and it is easy to ignore the process changes caused by the differences when applying information directly. Therefore, this paper introduces an ontological method for the information modeling and management of the construction process. The proposed method uses machine readable language to integrate process knowledge in a structured way, thereby improving the relevance of information and promoting the reuse, sharing and retrieval of knowledge. At the same time, the semantic web rule language (SWRL) rules are used to model the relevant laws and regulations with reference to the construction product quality acceptance regulations and to correlate the construction process information so as to ensure the compliance of building products and the accuracy of process information. Finally, the feasibility of the method is verified via specific use cases on an ontology implementation platform.

Mobile Application Development for Optimizing Management Information Systems

The development of Mobile Applications for Optimization of Management Information Systems is an important innovation in the context of enhancing efficiency and effectiveness of organizational management. The objective of this research is to design and implement a mobile application that can optimize the information management process within a management system. Research methods used include user needs surveys, system requirements analysis, application design, prototype development, as well as testing and evaluation by users. The research results indicate that the developed mobile application is able to improve information accessibility, accelerate decision-making processes, and enhance work efficiency. Based on the data analysis conducted, the conclusion of this research is that the implementation of mobile applications in management information systems can significantly enhance organizational performance. This research provides a significant contribution in the context of user-oriented information technology development and improving organizational operational efficiency.

Information management in electronic trading processes in a Federal Institution of Higher Education

Introdução: O pregão eletrônico é uma modalidade de licitação para aquisição de bens e contratação e serviços comuns sendo obrigatório sua utilização pelos órgãos públicos, incluindo as Universidades Federais. O pregão eletrônico é composto por informações de valor estratégico para aprendizagem organizacional e a melhor tomada de decisão. Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo analisar como se caracteriza a gestão da informação nos pregões eletrônicos em uma Instituição Federal de Ensino Superior. Métodos: O estudo foi realizado na Universidade Federal de Alagoas, maior instituição de ensino público do Estado de Alagoas. Tratou-se de pesquisa descritiva com abordagem qualitativa, foram entrevistados treze servidores públicos que atuam nos pregões eletrônicos como instrumento de coleta de dados. Foi realizada análise de conteúdo como método de investigação de dados. Resultados: Foram identificadas as principais necessidades de informações dos servidores nos pregões eletrônicos como sendo: descrição do material ou serviços, cotação de preços e finalidade da aquisição. As fontes pessoais foram as mais utilizadas pelos servidores na resolução de dúvidas no processo. Não houve um acesso fácil a informações de outros setores e os produtos e os serviços de informação estavam desatualizados e pouco detalhados para alguns usuários. Conclusão: A pesquisa é relevante pois analisou a gestão da informação na instituição, podendo trazer melhorias no uso da informação, na elaboração de produtos e serviços de informação a partir de necessidades informacionais dos solicitantes de compras.

Application Of the Cobit 2019 Framework to Analyse the Security Of Academic Information Systems

STMIK Amik Riau implements an integrated information system to support a fast and real-time information management process where each service has its security. In this study, the analysis used to determine the maturity level of information system security governance was the COBIT 2019 framework with a CMMI scale. In COBIT 2019 the domains used were DSS05 and APO13. Based on the result of the analysis, the results of the average value of the overall maturity level on the security of the academic information system of STMIK Amik Riau were currently at level 3, which was defined. It meant that the security of the information system was running well but needed to be evaluated and optimized continuously. The value of each sub domain was 3.08 for the DSS05 sub domain (user), 3.35 for DSS 05 sub domains (maintainer), and 2.5 for APO13 sub domains (maintainer). Then the average result obtained from the gap was 0.53, meaning that the current level of maturity level with the desired maturity level is not too far away and can be increased by providing recommendations.
