Mengoptimalkan Pengembangan Desa Wisata Jeruk Manis melalui Pembuatan Tourist Information dan Fasilitas Changing Room

Jeruk Manis Village is a village resulting from the expansion of Kembang Kuning Village, after its expansion Jeruk Manis established itself with new branding as a tourist village that is already known for its natural beauty and green rice fields that refresh the eyes. In its efforts to build a tourist village that promises visitors, Jeruk Manis has not provided adequate facilities such as the lack of tourist information for visitors, as well as inadequate changing rooms in several tourist attractions. Therefore, the purpose of KKN PMD University of Mataram for the July-August 2024 period is to optimize tourism in Jeruk Manis Village through making Tourist Information and improving Changing Room facilities. The implementation method used is field survey, location planning, design or design, and program implementation (production and promotion). The results obtained from the making of Tourist Information and Changing Room improvements have a stronger impact on the progress of the branding of the Jeruk Manis Tourism Village, with Tourist Information being a reference for foreign visitors when visiting Jeruk Manis Village. In addition, the placement of the Changing Room made of bamboo which adds to the attractiveness also ensures the comfort of visitors.

Pembangunan Sistem Manajemen Data Wisata pada Dinas Pariwisata, Pemuda, dan Olahraga Kabupaten Madiun

The tourism sector in Madiun Regency has significant development potential, highlighted by 75 tourist destinations. However, inadequate management of tourism data has led to suboptimal growth. To address this issue, a tourism data management system is proposed to facilitate efficient data handling for various stakeholders, including Destination Managers, Tourism Industry Managers, and Service Verifiers. The system manages data on tourist destinations, the tourism industry, and visitor information. The results of system testing using the black box method show that all features are functioning properly. The system was tested using usability testing, it showed a score of 87% from a total of 53 respondents, indicate that the developed system is both functional and user-friendly.

Carrying Capacity Assessment of the Aik Nyet Natural Tourism Area in Buwun Sejati Village, West Lombok Regency

The increase in the number of tourists in 2023, based on data from KPH Rinjani Barat, is 36,788 visits per year. Large and continuous tourist visits to a certain area can have negative impacts on the environment and the visitors themselves. This study aims to assess the carrying capacity of the Aik Nyet natural tourist area to ensure it can support ongoing visitor activities. The tools used in this study include writing materials, GPS, questionnaires, raffia ropes, and tally sheets. The materials used in this research include area maps, bio-physical conditions, visitor information, and vegetation data in the Aik Nyet tourist area. Both qualitative and quantitative methods were employed in this study. The findings show that the physical carrying capacity (PCC) is 25,232 people. The real carrying capacity (RCC) can accommodate 24,663 people, and the effective carrying capacity (ECC) can support 9,865 people. Monitoring of the water quality in the area is recommended.

Assessing the Long-COVID Impact on Heritage Organisations

The aim of this paper is to understand the long-COVID impact on cultural heritage organisations, and future research needed. COVID-19 was disruptive to cultural heritage socioeconomic activities across the world during 2020 and 2021. Whilst government intervention and changes from physical to digital engagement generally prevailed, the long-COVID impact on cultural heritage organisations, their people and users, buildings, and collections remains unknown. The extent, also, to which financing, curating, visiting, and volunteering patterns have changed is uncertain. Following the pandemic closures and associated support, cultural heritage organisations are facing continuing economic, social, political, environmental, technological, and organisational culture pressures. This research examines the existing academic literature, sector publications, annual reports and associated visitor information to understand whether cultural heritage organisations have long-COVID, whether they can survive another pandemic, and what further research is needed to be better prepared. Four case studies from the UK look at the visitor and financial impacts of COVID-19 on the British Library, the London Transport Museum, The Theatre Royal Drury Lane, and Kensington Palace. This paper contributes to heritage research by providing a deeper understanding of the impact that COVID-19 had on heritage, and how to proactively plan for similar future disruptions. The impact themes show that change did not result in a new normal but in the need for a new space, consisting of blended space (physical and digital), mixed space (indoors and outdoors), and community of practice space (isolated or cross-sector networking space). The literature highlights the significance of the sector coming together during the pandemic to share knowledge and provide support through its networks. It also highlights how important it is for such unity not to be lost but to be harnessed to support ongoing organisational sustainability and better preparedness for future crises. Finally, future research suggestions are proposed grouped into social, digital, financial, and operational research themes.

Consumer Satisfaction Analysis on Central Java Best Natural Tourist Destination Based on Trip Advisor Website

Consumer satisfaction provides an idea of how well their experience met expectations or exceeded expectations before interacting with the product or service received. A high level of satisfaction will create customer loyalty, positive reviews, and word-of-mouth recommendations, whereas dissatisfaction can create complaints, negative reviews, and reduced customers. The purpose of this study is to understand the level of consumer satisfaction with the best natural tourist destination in Central Java based on reviews and ratings on the TripAdvisor website. This type of research is qualitative, with qualitative descriptive analysis methods, whose data collection is carried out by observing consumer reviews on the top 5 natural tourist destination from the list of the best natural tourist destination in Central Java based on the TripAdvisor website. The results showed that consumer satisfaction with the five best natural tourist destination in Central Java based on the TripAdvisor website, each destination must provide accessibility and facilities with good quality. Natural tourist destination require good accessibility, such as road access that can be easily used by visitors and access to complete information for visitors to be safer in exploring destinations. Adequate facilities with good quality.

Wildfire risk assessment and mapping – an approach for Natura 2000 forest sites

Over the last ten years, Bulgaria's forest areas have been under almost year-round fire activity, severely impacting the Natura 2000 sites: Managing forests and maintaining traditional links between people and nature in mountain sites is becoming increasingly challenging. However, the National Methodology for determining the risk of forest fires (proposed in 2016) is applicable only at the regional administrative level (NUTS 3). This study is motivated by the actual need for an approach and a toolbox that can accurately assess the risk of wildfires, considering the unique characteristics of each location. An object-oriented vulnerability analysis is necessary to ensure that all parties involved in wildfire risk management can respond effectively. The main objective of this study is to suggest a flexible and scalable approach for spatial assessment and mapping of wildfire risk in geographic units relevant to natural heritage maintenance and resource management. A single register of potential fire risk factors is proposed, integrating 29 indicators into five thematic groups reflecting up-to-date data on hazards, vulnerability, and emergency response capacity. The factors are assessed and overlayed to come out with an integrated evaluation of the fire risk within a forestry subdivision - the smallest unit of forest management and inventory. The evaluation process involved geospatial technologies for analyzing the data and mapping the results. The methodology is tested on two Natura 2000 sites - BG0000496 “Rilski Manastir” (includes UNESCO’ World Heritage Site and symbol of Bulgarian identity – Rila Monastery) and BG0001011 “Osogovska Planina”, for which a conservation concern has been identified under the influence of wildfire risk. It has been confirmed that risk maps have the potential to support response teams, as demonstrated during a fire event that occurred on October 30th, 2022. The results from the study were used to identify suitable locations for the construction of fire towers and a visitor information system at BG0000496 “Rilski Manastir”.

Analysing Narration of Museum Exhibition Information for Young Visitors

Current museums lack innovation in their exhibition design resulting in a decline of young visitors' interest. There is a need to enhance visitors' experience in museum exhibition design to attract young visitors' interest in traditional Chinese culture. The purpose of this study is to analyze potential advanced narration of museum exhibition information for young visitors. This study conducted a systematic literature review synthesis process to evaluate the trend, identify the gaps, and recommend future approaches in designing alternative exhibition narration. Results will cover museum exhibition design, exhibition information, thematic narrative exhibition, exhibition design process, and high technology display. The results of the study include recommendations for a typical exhibition layout, a typical process of exhibiting artifacts in museums how best to narrate an exhibition, and the critical components in artifact narration. The significance of the study is supporting to increase the interest of young visitors in the museum exhibition by enhancing experience and further well-studied the traditional Chinese culture. Future study recommends to enhance cultural confidence through better inheritance and innovation through interactive exhibition design and gamified museum storytelling.

Dijkstra's Algorithm in Mapping UMKM Deli Serdang Based on Android

This study aims to implement Dijkstra's algorithm in mapping Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the Deli Serdang area using the Android platform with Java language. This MSME mapping aims to provide information on the nearest MSME location to users by using a mobile-based Geographic Information System (GIS). This study uses a software development approach with quantitative and qualitative methods. MSME location data was collected through surveys and interviews with business owners. This data is then processed and analyzed using the SketchUp software to build a visual model of MSME locations in the Deli Serdang area. In addition, an Android-based mobile application was developed using the Java programming language to provide an interactive and easy-to-use interface. This application provides information on the location of UMKM as well as recommendations for the closest route from the user's location to the UMKM you want to visit. The results of the study show that Dijkstra's algorithm has succeeded in producing recommendations for the closest route and travel time to MSMEs, so this application can assist users in finding MSME locations quickly and accurately. Users can also view detailed information about each MSME, such as business descriptions, hours of operation, and contacts to contact. This application is expected to increase the accessibility of information for visitors and potential MSME consumers in the Deli Serdang area. In addition, it is hoped that it can help increase the competitiveness and promotion of MSMEs and provide support for local economic growth.

Testing and Evaluation of Low-Cost Sensors for Developing Open Smart Campus Systems Based on IoT.

Urbanization has led to the need for the intelligent management of various urban challenges, from traffic to energy. In this context, smart campuses and buildings emerge as microcosms of smart cities, offering both opportunities and challenges in technology and communication integration. This study sets itself apart by prioritizing sustainable, adaptable, and reusable solutions through an open-source framework and open data protocols. We utilized the Internet of Things (IoT) and cost-effective sensors to capture real-time data for three different use cases: real-time monitoring of visitor counts, room and parking occupancy, and the collection of environment and climate data. Our analysis revealed that the implementation of the utilized hardware and software combination significantly improved the implementation of open smart campus systems, providing a usable visitor information system for students. Moreover, our focus on data privacy and technological versatility offers valuable insights into real-world applicability and limitations. This study contributes a novel framework that not only drives technological advancements but is also readily adaptable, improvable, and reusable across diverse settings, thereby showcasing the untapped potential of smart, sustainable systems.

The Invisible Hurdle

International students pursuing higher education in the United States incur additional expenses compared to domestic students by spending on foreign credential evaluations and visa applications. These costs are usually not reflected in program fee structures, are non-refundable, and are not covered by financial aid, creating significant, and often unforeseen, financial strains on international students, particularly those from low-income backgrounds. This study compared the costs of two major foreign credential evaluators (Educational Credential Evaluators and World Education Services) and factored in the price of visa processing fees and the I-901 Student and Exchange Visitor Information System fee. It found that First-time, International, Graduate students pay up to $691 for foreign credential evaluations and visa applications. The paper suggests that higher education institutions should provide more transparent fee breakdowns and enhance financial aid packages to better support these students.

Japanese health and safety information for overseas visitors: a randomized controlled trial

IntroductionInternational travel to Japan increased steadily until the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak. Although international travel was curtailed worldwide due to the pandemic, the number of overseas visitors to Japan should increase again after the restrictions are lifted. We assessed the effect of a five-minute digital game on the knowledge of health information and the level of satisfaction with educational health resources of overseas visitors to Japan.MethodsWe conducted a randomized controlled trial among 1062 previous and potential visitors to Japan utilizing an internet portal. We recruited previous and potential visitors to Japan from the internet portal sites of the UK, the US and Australia. We randomly allocated participants to two groups: an intervention group that played an animated game and a control group that viewed an online animation. All participants answered a self-administered questionnaire online from March 16 to 19, 2021. We assessed visitors’ levels of health knowledge and satisfaction using the CSQ-8. We analyzed the data with a t test and the difference in differences test. Our RCT followed the SPIRIT guidelines.ResultsOf the 1062 previous and potential visitors recruited via the three countries’ internet portals (354 from each country), some had visited Japan previously (174 in the intervention group, 220 in the control group), while some were potential visitors to Japan (357 in the intervention group, 311 in the control group). Some had gathered health and safety information about Japan prior to this study (180 in the intervention group, 211 in the control group). Both groups improved their health information levels after the intervention. The level of satisfaction with health information in Japan was significantly increased in the intervention group (average difference of 4.5 points) compared to that in the control group (average difference of 3.9 points) (p < 0.05). Both groups’ mean CSQ-8 scores increased significantly after the intervention (p < 0.001): from 23 to 28 in the intervention group and from 23 to 24 in the control group.ConclusionsOur study introduced unique educational strategies using an online game to provide health and safety information to previous and potential visitors to Japan. Library Of Bank Indonesia North Sumatra Representative Office In Conducting Infopreneurship For Easy Access To User Information

Library as a non profit institution does not convert the infopreneurship activities into money. Instead, it distributes information and conducts informations marketing for public services. Infopreneurship at the KPw Indonesia North Sumatra Bank library is carried with the aim of disseminating information and reaching the public. Infopreneurship is done by repackaging information into new forms of information.. The repackaging information are placed at the building of the KPw library of Indonesia sumut and also distributed on the social media page in order to ease the access of information. The method used in this research is qualitative with interview and observation as the methods for data collection. This research lists three sources that are used, they are The librarian, library volunteer and library visitor including the social media’s followers of the KPw Indonesia North Sumatra Bank library. Based on the observation of the library and its social media page along with the interviews of the three sources, The result found that infopreneurship provides easier access towards the information for the library visitors without the must to visit the library directly. the presented information are concise, concrete and accurate but still remains exciting to see.

Visitors’ Awareness to Maintain and Preserve the Biodiversity and Environment at Bantimurung Nature Tourism Object, Bantimurung Bulusaraung National Park

Bantimurung Nature Tourism Object is one of the famous destinations in South Sulawesi Province. This research aims to determine the level of visitor awareness to preserve this destination’s biodiversity and environment. Data collection about the levels of visitor awareness was conducted using the interview method. The result of the study showed that most visitors are aware of the biodiversity and the environment. However, the lack of knowledge and fewer visitors information about protected butterfly species declined their environmentally friendly behavior and awareness. Therefore, persuading visitors that their behavior will affect the destination’s biological and non-biological natural resources is necessary. Moreover, it is required to improve visitors’ knowledge about friendly environmental behavior and how to maintain this potential so they can enjoy it sustainably.

Old-Growth Forests in Urban Nature Reserves: Balancing Risks for Visitors and Biodiversity Protection in Warsaw, Poland

Urban nature reserves in Poland are precious relics of ancient nature with preserved biodiversity. They consist of valuable trees several 100 years old, are biodiverse, and are valuable recreational spaces right in and around cities. It is therefore critical to manage tradeoffs between visitor safety due to, e.g., falling dead branches and the need for old-grown trees for biodiversity conservation. This study aimed to determine whether airborne laser scanning data (LiDAR) can confirm that trees exhibiting the worst crown defoliation are the first to be damaged in storms. Our results show that during Storm Eunice in 2022, the detected defoliated trees, in fact, were damaged the most. Despite such evidence available to the city, no targeted changes to the management of the reserves were taken after the storm. One of the forests was completely closed to visitors; in the other forest, areas with damaged trees were fenced off, and then, the remaining branches and fallen trees were removed to make the forest available for recreation. Using available evidence such as LiDAR data, we propose more targeted and nuanced forms of managing biodiversity conservation in conjunction with visitor safety. This includes the establishment of priority areas, visitor information, and visitor management. This way, airborne laser scanning and Geographic Information Systems can be used to balance management needs accounting for both biodiverse old-grown forest structures while at the same time providing added safety for visitors.

Design of intelligent visitor system based on cloud and edge collaborative computing

With the maturity of face recognition and speech recognition technologies, artificial intelligence (AI) cloud and edge computing collaboration have become a new research direction. In many enterprises and government departments, there are certain management requirements for visitors, usually using traditional manual records or computer-aided manual management. These methods require certain personnel management costs, and they face underlying problems concerned with personal identification as well as security. In this paper, we analyze the functions and features of cloud-edge collaboration and discuss the edge intelligence technology in the cloud-edge collaboration environment. Then by combining the architecture of the intelligent visitor system, we apply AI cloud and edge computing to collaboratively solve critical issues faced by the visitor system, such as real-time and data authenticity. The intelligent visitor system employs a Rockchip RK3399 motherboard, ID card reader, microphone array, camera, and other hardware to build an edge computing environment. Combined with Baidu AI cloud, the system has an intelligent visitor system with face recognition and voice interaction capabilities, which can realize verification of visitor information, voice self-registration, and automatic measurement of visitors’ body temperature and other functions.

Exploring the Case: Visitor Information Centres and Millennial Travellers: Remaining Relevant in a Digital Era

Introduction Visitor usage of visitor information centres (VICs) has significantly declined during the past decade due to the increasing use and popularity of online information sources. The immediacy and accessibility of online information has resulted in tourists relying primarily on this source of information both prior to and during the travel experience. This is an issue due to the many benefits that VICs provide to business suppliers, local communities and tourists. This case study reveals the perceptions that the digital generation ‘millennials’ have of VICs, in terms of the relevance of such facilities in their digital world. The case follows with recommendations that can help enhance the appeal and relevance of VICs to this important consumer cohort and assist VICs to continue delivering the many benefits such centres offer to both tourists and the tourism community.

Attitudes and perceptions of local residents and tourists – a comparative study of the twin national parks of Aggtelek (Hungary) and Slovak Karst (Slovakia)

National parks (NPs) are the flagships of protected areas, which primarily serve the protection of nature, but are also important sites for tourism. While karst areas are generally disadvantageous in terms of traditional farming, tourism can provide new livelihoods for those who live there. Therefore, it does matter how the local people relate to the NP and tourism, and the opinion of tourists is also an important factor. In this article, we present the results of a questionnaire survey conducted in the Aggtelek National Park (ANP) and the Slovak Karst National Park (SKNP). Our results show that for locals, the forest is the most important natural resource often visited by them, while for tourists, caves are the first choice. Conflicts between locals and tourists are negligible, and all actors agree to further increase tourism. In both ANP and SKNP, the majority of tourists and locals alike have a rather positive view of the NP. However, there is still a significant group of local residents who have a negative opinion about the NP. One reason for this may be that the locals feel they have only a marginal influence on NP decisions. The ANP plays a more important role in the lives of locals than in SKNP, because ANP has a larger organisational background and more human resources for a smaller population. Although geotourism is still largely missing from the vocabulary of local residents and park management alike, there is a small but significant part of visitors who consider themselves sensu lato geotourists. As for the motivation of tourists, the keyword is “cave”, while the content of the term “karst” is much less known for visitors (especially on the Hungarian side). In Hungary, the tourism to Baradla Cave is largely due to school education. We found that the internet, although one of the most important sources of information for visitors, was not the first port of call, and was not outstanding compared to other factors.

Reliable Policy Updating Under Efficient Policy Hidden Fine-Grained Access Control Framework for Cloud Data Sharing

Ciphertext-Policy Attribute-Based Encryption (CP-ABE) is one of the potent encryption paradigms in protecting data confidentiality in the cloud data sharing scenario. However, the access policy of the traditional CP-ABE is in plaintext form that reveals significant sensitive information of data owners and data visitors. To mitigate this problem, two approaches have been proposed in the literature. One is partially hidden, where the attributes in the access policy are divided into two parts: the plaintext attribute names and the hidden attribute values. The other approach fully hides the attributes in the access policy which, unfortunately, hinders efficient and correct decryption as well as dynamic policy-updating. In this article, we design a security-enhanced Attribute Cuckoo Filter (se-ACF) to hide the access policy and propose a new CP-ABE system, called Privacy-Preserving Policy Updating ABE (3PU-ABE), which effectively integrates policy hiding and policy updating. We conduct rigorous security analysis and performance evaluation of 3PU-ABE. The results indicate that 3PU-ABE completely hides the access policy without affecting the decryption, and entails better policy-updating efficiency than similar works.

Implementasi Agile Method untuk Pengembangan Sistem Pembatasan Pengunjung Wisata Berbasis Mobile

The high number of Covid-19 patients in 2021 has an impact on the tourism sector. It changes the trend towards tourism in Indonesia. Apart from the health protocols that must be carried out, the role of technology is also important in overcoming the growth of Covid-19. The technology provided is in the form of an application to purchase tourist entrance tickets, but it does not yet provide the menu for tourist restriction and zone identification. The purpose of this research is to develop an information system that can limit the number of tourists and find out the red zone (the highest Covid-19 area) before making a tourist visit. The method used for the development of a tourist visitor information system is the Agile model. This model is carried out systematically and starts from collecting information with interview and observation techniques, needs analysis, system design, design, and the implementation using an object-oriented diagram approach. This model has complex capabilities, is reliable, and produces applications in a short time. The testing of the tourist restriction system uses black box testing. The goal is to find out the error when the system is used by end users. Test results on all features in the system according to the needs of the end user. The application built can be used in line with the government rules or policies. With this application, the tourists are expected to be able to have vacation without the risk of spreading Covid-19.
