ENTREPRENEURIAL SELF-EFFICACY: MEDIATING ENTREPRENEURSHIP EDUCATION TOWARDS GREEN ENTREPRENEURIAL INTENTION OF SCU MANAGEMENT PROGRAM STUDENTS

In achieving Sustainable Development Growth (SDGs) by 2030, environmental factors need to be considered, such as the green economy, which is also applied to the business world. Entrepreneurship education as one of the things carried out by higher education needs to also provide insight into the green economy. Students as the young generation who receive entrepreneurship education need to have insight into the green economy and an interest in becoming green entrepreneurs. The aim of this research is to determine the influence of entrepreneurship education on green entrepreneurial intention directly and mediated by entrepreneurial self-efficacy in student respondents taking entrepreneurship in the management study program. The number of respondents was 83 students, data collection was through questionnaires. The analysis technique uses Partial Least Square and the results show that the hypothesis stating entrepreneurial self- efficacy as a mediator is rejected while the hypothesis stating that there is an influence of entrepreneurial education on green entrepreneurial intention is accepted. Two other hypotheses are also accepted, that there is an influence of entrepreneurial education on entrepreneurial self-efficacy and an influence of entrepreneurial self-efficacy on green entrepreneurial intention

Unveiling the Nexus: A Conceptual Framework of Entrepreneurship Education, Self-Efficacy, and Intentions

The objective of this conceptual paper is to provide a comprehensive framework that illuminates the interrelated network of entrepreneurship education (EE), entrepreneurial self-efficacy (ESE), and entrepreneurial intentions (EI). The theoretical approach examines the impact of EE on ESE, the influence of ESE on EI, and the role of ESE as a mediator in these relationships. The findings highlight the positive impact of EE on self-efficacy and, consequently, entrepreneurial aspirations. This paper provides valuable insights for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers, emphasizing the importance of targeted educational interventions to foster entrepreneurial outcomes. The study addresses a gap in the current literature and sets a foundation for future theoretical and empirical research on the subject.

Internal factors of entrepreneurial and business performance of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in East Java, Indonesia

The analysis conducted in this empirical study is the direct and indirect impact of internal entrepreneurial factors on the performance of small and medium enterprises. These factors were identified from previous studies from various countries, such as entrepreneurial-innovative work behavior, entrepreneurial leadership, entrepreneurial self-efficacy, and entrepreneurial motivation, by taking the research object of small-medium enterprise owners in Java. East, Indonesia. Descriptive statistics and structural equation models were used to analyze the research data. Samples were taken with uncontrolled quota sampling techniques. The research data was collected by distributing questionnaires online with the Google form application and offline. The total respondents were 575 small-medium enterprise owners. The test results showed that internal factors such as entrepreneurial self-efficacy, motivation, and leadership could increase business performance significantly.In contrast, entrepreneurial-innovative work behavior cannot significantly increase business performance. Other test results showed that: 1) entrepreneurial self-efficacy significantly improved entrepreneurial motivation; 2) entrepreneurial leadership significantly improved innovative entrepreneurial behavior; 3) entrepreneurial motivation partially mediated the influence of entrepreneurial self-efficacy on business performance; 4) innovative entrepreneurial behavior did not mediate the influence of entrepreneurial leadership on business performance. The contribution of the results of this study provides additional empirical studies on the role of entrepreneurial leadership, which significantly increases innovative entrepreneurial behavior. There is a lot of potential to develop business existence through entrepreneurial leadership through innovative behavior in entrepreneurship. Another contribution of this study is that entrepreneurial self-efficacy is a dominant predictor of business performance in SMEs and significantly increases entrepreneurial motivation. These findings reveal the importance of self-efficacy for SMEs because high self-efficacy for business actors is expected to increase entrepreneurial self-efficacy and teamwork motivation in helping to achieve business performance.

The Influence of Science and Technology Innovation Perception Education on Entrepreneurial Intention of College Students

The current employment situation is grim, and the era of science and technology is conducive to college students providing new opportunities for innovation and entrepreneurship. The inclusion of entrepreneurship education in college courses can open up more employment opportunities for students. Therefore, the educational environment is crucial for students’ employment choices. This paper conducted a questionnaire survey on 582 college students from nine universities in Fujian Province, China, to develop a relationship model between science and technology innovation perception, education, and entrepreneurial intention. The results show that: 1. Science and technology innovation perception education has been proven to have a direct positive influence on college students’ entrepreneurial intention; 2. Undergraduates work value orientation (including career orientation, mission orientation, and livelihood orientation) significantly affects entrepreneurial self-efficacy and thus entrepreneurial intention; and 3. Both work value orientation and entrepreneurial selfefficacy have a direct influence on entrepreneurial intention, but the influence of entrepreneurial self-efficacy is greater than that of work value orientation. Therefore, enhancing college students’ entrepreneurial self-efficacy is the main way to improve entrepreneurial intention. Based on this, to improve the entrepreneurial intention of college students, colleges and universities should strengthen science and technology innovation perception education, do a good job in student employment guidance, improve students’ self-efficacy, meet undergraduates’ diverse employment needs, and provide more entrepreneurship resources to undergraduates.

Entrepreneurial Self-Efficacy and Competitive Advantage of SMEs in Bayelsa State, Nigeria

Purpose: This study examined the influence of entrepreneurial self-efficacy on competitive advantage of SMEs in Bayelsa State, Nigeria.
 Methodology: The study adopted a cross sectional survey research design. The population for this study was 300 owners/managers of small and medium scale enterprises in Bayelsa State that are registered with the Small and Medium Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN). Primary data was collated using structured questionnaire. A sample size of 171 was obtained using the Taro Yamane sample size determination formula. The reliability of the instrument was achieved by the use of the Cronbach Alpha coefficient with all the items scoring above 0.70. The inferential statistics absorbed three parametric inferential tests-Pearson’s Product Moment Coefficient (PPMC), One Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Simple Regression Analysis. Pearson’s Product Moment Coefficient (PPMC) was used test the relationship between the variables, ANOVA was employed to test the differences in means of responses on the variables, while by means of simple regression, the study tested the effect of entrepreneurial self-efficacy on competitive advantage. The tests were carried out at a 0.05 significance level. 
 Findings: Findings from the study revealed that entrepreneurial self-efficacy significantly influences competitive advantage of SMEs in Bayelsa State, Nigeria. In conclusion, the findings of this study demonstrate that entrepreneurial self-efficacy plays a significant role in influencing the competitive advantage of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Bayelsa State, Nigeria. The study shed light on the importance of individuals' beliefs in their own abilities to effectively engage in entrepreneurial activities and how these beliefs impact the competitive positioning of their businesses.
 Recommendation: Therefore, the study recommends that there is need to encourage and support aspiring and existing SME owners to develop and enhance their entrepreneurial self-confidence. This can be achieved through entrepreneurship education and training programs, mentorship initiatives, and networking opportunities that focus on building self-belief, risk-taking abilities, and resilience.

Assessing entrepreneurial intentions through experiential learning, entrepreneurial self-efficacy, and entrepreneurial attitude

ABSTRACT This work investigates the impact of entrepreneurial experiential learning (EL) on students’ entrepreneurial intention (EI), through the lens of entrepreneurial self-efficacy (ESE). To provide a comprehensive viewpoint, the direct impact of entrepreneurial attitude (EA) on entrepreneurial intention has also been looked at. This study, has adopted existing scales to measure entrepreneurial intention, entrepreneurial attitude, and entrepreneurial self-efficacy. For experiential learning, a structured scale has been designed on the basis of its existing scales. Data were collected from 669 students, enrolled in entrepreneurial courses/programs. Punjab, Haryana, and National capital region (NCR) are the three Indian regions considered for the survey. The results highlight that there is a positive influence of experiential learning on entrepreneurial intention though β-value is low (0.042). While the β-value with mediation influence of entrepreneurial self-efficacy between experiential learning and entrepreneurial intention was 0.090 (0.697*0.130), which states that entrepreneurial self-efficacy mediates and enhances the relationship between experiential learning and entrepreneurial intention. It was also found that there is a direct and strong influence of entrepreneurial attitude on entrepreneurial intention (β-value, 0.872). Thus, there is a need to focus on entrepreneurial attitude, as it strongly influences the intentions of the students. Overall results have a bearing that experiential learning; entrepreneurial self-efficacy and entrepreneurial attitude emerged as important predictors of entrepreneurial intention and explained 89.6% of variations in the model. Moreover, experiential learning with the mediation of entrepreneurial self-efficacy had more impact on entrepreneurial intention. Thus, there is a need to focus on entrepreneurial self-efficacy as well as experiential learning.

Impact of Self-Efficacy on Entrepreneurs' Ambidextrous Behavior in New Ventures: Moderating Effect of Status.

This article discusses the mechanism of the ambidextrous behavior of entrepreneurs in exploring and exploiting simultaneously in new ventures. We draw on social cognition theory to discuss the influence of entrepreneurial self-efficacy (ESE) on entrepreneurs' ambidextrous behavior and the moderating effect of their status. We contend that an inverted 'U' relationship exists between ESE and entrepreneurs' ambidextrous behavior. A higher economic status of an entrepreneur strengthens the relationship between ESE and that entrepreneur's ambidextrous behavior, whereas higher power status weakens the relationship. Analyses of high-tech industry entrepreneurs support our hypotheses in the context of emerging economies, represented by China.

STUDY OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP ORIENTATION AND SELF-EFFICACY ON ENTREPRENEURSHIP SUCCESS AND MODERATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL INSTABILITY IN COVID 19 PANDEMIC CONDITIONS

This study aims to analyze entrepreneurial orientation and self-efficacy on entrepreneurial success moderating environmental instability with entrepreneurial orientation on entrepreneurial success. This study used a descriptive quantitative method. The research was conducted in February-May 2022 in Surakarta. The population in this study were Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) actors spread in Surakarta with a total sample of 169 respondents using a simple census sampling technique based on representation of several types of MSME. The data collection technique was carried out by means of a questionnaire/questionnaire. Testing the hypothesis used the regression test and moderation regression test with SPSS software version 26.0. The results of the study conclude that entrepreneurial orientation influences entrepreneurial success. Entrepreneurial self-efficacy influences entrepreneurial success. Moderation of environmental instability on the effect of entrepreneurial orientation on entrepreneurial success is not able to moderate. The environmental instability variable is able to moderate the effect of entrepreneurial self-efficacy on entrepreneurial success.

Linking self-efficacy, entrepreneurial fit, family support, and entrepreneurial intentions: An explanatory mechanism.

Entrepreneurial ventures are outcomes of favorable internal and external factors. But the outcomes are always uncertain, often creating a situation of cognitive/perceptual dismay. One of such perceptual aspect of entrepreneurship that has recently emerged is person-entrepreneurship fit (P-E fit). By using this underlying aspect, this study entails investigation of its antecedents (entrepreneurial self-efficacy) and consequences (entrepreneurial intentions) in presence of boundary condition of family support. Data is collected through a structured questionnaire from 359 students enrolled in the last semester of their graduate and postgraduate programs at three large public sector universities. The findings of the study reveal that entrepreneurial self-efficacy influences perceptions of P-E fit and entrepreneurial intentions, while P-E fit works as a partial mediator. This study also found that family support is an important boundary condition that influences the relationship of self-efficacy and P-Ent fit.

Psychological Features and Entrepreneurial Intention among Saudi Small Entrepreneurs during Adverse Times

This study’s objective is to examine the influence of entrepreneurial self-efficacy and internal locus of control on the entrepreneurial intention of small Saudi entrepreneurs during adverse times, with entrepreneurial resilience as a moderator. The study, which targeted a sample of 207 small entrepreneurs working in various sectors in Saudi Arabia, gathered data through an online questionnaire sent to respondents and analysed the results using PLS-SEM. The study revealed intriguing findings, such as the existence of a positive significant relationship between entrepreneurial self-efficacy, internal locus of control and entrepreneurial intention amongst small Saudi entrepreneurs. It also demonstrated that in times of adversity, such as during the COVID-19 pandemic and other environmental challenges, entrepreneurial resilience can act as a moderator between entrepreneurial intention and entrepreneurial self-efficacy. Entrepreneurial resilience, in particular, has the potential to strengthen the relationship between entrepreneurial self-efficacy and entrepreneurial intention. Accordingly, the government, along with other sectors and stakeholders in Saudi Arabia, should continue to support the psychological characteristics of small Saudi entrepreneurs, notably their internal locus of control, entrepreneurial self-efficacy, and entrepreneurial resilience to ensure greater sustainability and the continuity of their small businesses.

The Entrepreneurial Intention of Algerian Students: Between Disillusionment of the Entrepreneurial Climate and Self-Confidence

This article studies the entrepreneurial intention of Algerian students to explain the weakness in business creation in the country. Theoretical and empirical evidence on this subject is scarce, particularly among young Algerians. By combining two dominant research trends in the field of entrepreneurship, namely an approach based on contextual factors, and one based on individual characteristics, we examined the impact of perceived entrepreneurial climate and entrepreneurial self-efficacy on Algerian students’ entrepreneurial intentions. Our study, contextualized in the student environment, aims to analyze how entrepreneurship education moderated the relationship between entrepreneurial self-efficacy and entrepreneurial intention. Based on a sample of 302 students, our survey yielded two important results. The first was the negative effect of perceived entrepreneurial climate on entrepreneurial intention. The second was that as a moderating factor, entrepreneurship education did not reinforce the significant direct influence of entrepreneurial self-efficacy on the intention to start a business among Algerian students. These insights may help improve the level of entrepreneurial intention within developing countries.

Entrepreneurial ecosystem, entrepreneurial self-efficacy, and entrepreneurial intention in higher education: Evidence from Saudi Arabia

This study aims to empirically examine the influence of students' perceptions of entrepreneurial ecosystem factors on their entrepreneurial intentions directly and indirectly through entrepreneurial self-efficacy and to investigate the moderating role of students' gender. The data used to test the hypotheses were obtained through online questionnaire sent to undergraduate business students enrolled at a public university in Saudi Arabia. The hypothesized relationships are tested with data collected from 259 respondents by using the partial least squares structural equation modelling technique (PLS-SEM). The results show that students' perceptions of the entrepreneurial ecosystem affect entrepreneurial intentions both directly and indirectly through entrepreneurial self-efficacy. The findings of multigroup analysis confirmed the significant differences between male and female students in the influence of entrepreneurial self-efficacy on students’ entrepreneurial intention. The findings provide empirical evidence to policymakers in Saudi Arabia. They should focus on building an entrepreneurial ecosystem with adequate institutional infrastructure, support structures, and culture that supports and enhances students' self-efficacy and intention to become entrepreneurs. Moreover, the moderating effect of gender on self-efficacy and intention relationship suggests that policymakers should pay special attention to gender differences while they are developing their strategies and programs as tools that work with male students may not be suitable for females.

Influential Factors of Social Entrepreneurial Intention in Bangladesh

The concept of social entrepreneurship (SE) is gaining attention in developing economies for the purpose of greater societal welfare maximization. Still, findings in the field of SE studies have been riddled with conflicting results and counterstatement. Also, the determinants of developing SE are not robustly investigated in developing economies like Bangladesh. This context has mobilized the authors of this current study to focus on determining student's intention to pursue SE as their career choice. Hence, the study aims to examine the predictive determinants of social entrepreneurial intentions (SEI) among Bangladeshi students. The study has investigated the influence of entrepreneurial self-efficacy, social support, prior experience, and educational support on SEI. The survey was conducted from a public university of Bangladesh, and 231 students participated in the study. Questionnaire items under each construct variable have been adopted from pre-tested research studies. Five-point Likert scale questionnaire was applied to measure the variables. SPSS version 23.0 has been used for statistical analysis through which correlation and multiple regression analysis were conducted to measure the impact of the independent variables on SEI. Results exhibited that self-efficacy, social support, and educational support positively and significantly predicted SEI, while prior experience does not influence SEI.

Intention towards social entrepreneurship of university students in an emerging economy: the influence of entrepreneurial self-efficacy and entrepreneurship education

Purpose Entrepreneurial intention plays a crucial role in the research and application of social entrepreneurship (SE). The purpose of this paper is to investigate the influence of the factors affecting students’ intention towards social entrepreneurship (ISE). The study has taken entrepreneurial self-efficacy, along with entrepreneurial education, entrepreneurial network and perceived university support that have an impact on intentions, which instills interest amongst students in being future entrepreneurs. Design/methodology/approach Data were primarily taken from a survey of 380 university students from public and private universities in Chattogram, the business capital of Bangladesh. Students were preliminarily selected, focussing on different profiles such as male/female, age, socio-economic status, education level, university status and employment level. Initially, using factor analysis factors were analyzed and later multiple regression analysis was used to identify the relationship with ISE. Findings The study on the student reveals that four aspects significantly impacted the preference of students’ ISE. This study reinforces the influence of entrepreneurial self-efficacy, along with entrepreneurial education, as the factors contributing to aid young graduates recognizing and fostering an ISE. Entrepreneurial networks and perceived university support were found to have no association with social entrepreneurial intentions. Originality/value This paper contributes to the understanding of the factors and provides a basis for explaining factors that affect the intention of students towards SE. It can contribute to future research related to social entrepreneurial intention. Furthermore, it was concluded that forming social entrepreneurial intention is highly influenced by entrepreneurial self-efficacy and entrepreneurship education.

Employees’ decision to participate in corporate venturing: A conjoint experiment of financial and non-financial motivations

This paper is a replication and extension of a prior study that examines the factors influencing employees’ willingness to participate in corporate ventures. We use a conjoint experiment to build knowledge surrounding the impact of motivating factors beyond financial profit as well as the role of entrepreneurial self-efficacy. Our replication results largely support prior findings and indicate that the extra effort required for participating in a corporate venture is the most important factor driving employees’ decision. Our replication also extends prior findings in two critical ways. First, it shows that independence is essential in developing a comprehensive understanding of the decision-making process for participating in a corporate venture. Second, it demonstrates that entrepreneurial self-efficacy influences the effects of employment risk and expected success on the relationship between profit sharing and employees’ willingness to participate in a corporate venture. Our results suggest that individual-level differences provide additional explanatory power and a fuller understanding of the employees’ decision to participate in corporate ventures. They also yield important practical implications for managers who wish to motivate their employees towards the corporate venturing path.

The Influence of Entrepreneurial Self-Efficacy and Innovation on Firm Performance: Evidence from Thai Startup Firms

This descriptive case study examined the relationship between entrepreneurial self-efficacy and innovation and the business success of digital startup firms. Qualitative data was collected from in-depth interviews with entrepreneur-founders from four leading digital startups. In addition, interviewees completed a questionnaire measuring self-rated ESE and innovation to confirm whether the qualitative interviews were in accordance with the quantitative analysis. The results showed that ESE and innovation has a direct positive relationship to the financial and customer aspects of firm performance. ESE influences innovation, which in turn corresponds to firm performance. As juvenile organizations that are just venturing into entrepreneurship, startup firms inevitably face a unique set of obstacles. The performance of new ventures varied depending on the startup’s stage and type of business. Entrepreneurs should focus on specific goals to survive during the early emerging stages. This study extends current research by investigating the relationships between types of innovation and ESE as a component of individual personality, as well as how these variables interact to contribute to the performance of early-stage startup firms. The findings present new insights concerning factors related to business success, which can inform supportive policies and programs to enhance ESE and innovation.

Cultural Intelligence: Impact on Entrepreneurial Self-efficacy

Evidence suggests that entrepreneurial self-efficacy influences individual’s intentions towards entrepreneurship. It also plays an important role in the creation and management of entrepreneurial ventures. However, there is only limited understanding of the factors that influence its development. We contribute to filling this gap. Based on cognitive theories, we hypothesize the role that cultural intelligence plays in influencing entrepreneurial self-efficacy. Empirical tests using a sample of 315 individuals support our hypothesized arguments.

Role of Academician’s Entrepreneurial Self-Efficacy in Promoting Commercialization Behavior

Role of academician is not only as an agent that disseminates knowledge through lecture and research but also as an agent that is able to produce marketable new research products to help universities generate income. However, rate of university commercialized research production is still low. The dual demands that need to be fulfilled by academicians are very challenging especially for those who work in Research University. The aim of this study is to investigate on how entrepreneurial self-efficacy influences academicians to successfully commercialize their research product. This article reviews the literature on commercialization concept which includes mechanisms and challenges. Various literatures related to entrepreneurial self-efficacy were also assessed to understand the concept of entrepreneurial self-efficacy role in academic context. This article attempts to understand how role of entrepreneurial self-efficacy can influence academicians to overcome commercialization challenges. This paper found that different level of entrepreneurial self-efficacy influence academician to pursue commercialization activity successfully. This paper will help in understanding on how entrepreneurial self-efficacy can influence academician in conducting commercialization behavior. This will help university to encourage academician to conduct commercialization activity despite obstacles that they face.

The Influence of Entrepreneurial Self-Efficacy on Entrepreneurial Learning Behavior - Using Entrepreneurial Intention as the Mediator Variable

This study examines 448 technical and vocational school students’ entrepreneurial learning behavior and its influencing factors to serve as a school reference for the development of entrepreneurship education measures. The results show that students’ ‘entrepreneurial intention (EI)’ has a significant direct effect on ‘entrepreneurial learning behavior (ELB)’, and ‘entrepreneurial self-efficacy (ESE) ‘has a significant effect on ‘entrepreneurial learning behavior’ through ‘entrepreneurial self-efficacy.’ The influence pattern and empirical data of ‘entrepreneurial self-efficacy’ and ‘entrepreneurial intention’ on ‘entrepreneurial learning behavior’ has a good fit. Competing models of entrepreneurial intentions: the influence of entrepreneurial self-efficacy and attitudes

The present study tested two models explaining how entrepreneurship education can have an effect of entrepreneurial intentions through its impact on attitudes and self-efficacy. Data were collected from 236 students who were exposed to an entrepreneurship course. While in Model 1, attitudes and self-efficacy are positively related to intentions to new venture creation, in Model 2, attitudes mediate between self-efficacy and intentions. Results indicate that attitudes have a stronger relationship with intentions in Model 2. Discussion and implications for future research are presented.
