Development of COVID-19 Infection Prevention and Control Training Program Based on ADDIE Model for Clinical Nurses: A Pretest-Posttest Study.

Scientific and effective training is important to enhance the theoretical knowledge and practical skills of clinical nurses in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) prevention and control (IPC), so as to improve the IPC capacity. The study aimed to design and implement a COVID-19 IPC training program for clinical nurses based on the ADDIE model, and to evaluate its clinical application effects. This was a pretest-posttest study in which 389 clinical nurses were recruited through convenience sampling. The IPC training program for clinical nurses was developed based on the five stages of ADDIE model. Data were analyzed using pared-sample t test, McNemar's test, and Wilcoxon test. After training, nurses' theoretical scores and operational scores except for hand hygiene were improved significantly (p < 0.001). Compared to pre-training assessment, their job performances were also significantly improved (p < 0.001). And they had higher satisfaction with the program post-training. Under the situation of COVID-19, training based on the ADDIE model can effectively improve the IPC ability of clinical nurses. Besides, it provides new ideas, methods, and approaches for future clinical IPC training.

Hepatitis B Vaccination Status, Knowledge, and Attitudes among Healthcare Workers in Military Hospital, Khartoum State: A Cross-sectional Study

Abstract Background: Hepatitis B virus (HBV) is a significant public health issue that causes a substantial number of cases of hepatitis-related illness and death. It is particularly important to vaccinate healthcare workers (HCWs), as they face a higher risk of HBV infection due to their exposure to infected blood and other bodily fluids in their line of work. The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention currently recommends HBV vaccination for adult populations at risk of infection. Therefore, this study aimed to assess the vaccination status, knowledge, and attitudes of HCWs toward HBV vaccination in a military hospital. Materials and Methods: An institution-based descriptive cross-sectional study performed between May 2022 and September 2022 for HCWs working in Omdurman Military Hospital who were available at the time of data collection; data were collected using a self-administered and online questionnaire; the obtained results were analyzed. Results and Conclusion: Only 50% of HCWs in military hospitals possessed adequate knowledge, while the majority exhibited a positive attitude toward HBV infection. In terms of vaccination status, approximately two-thirds of HCWs were immunized, but only half of them completed the recommended number of vaccine doses. The educational activities of the infection control training programs should be strengthened to enhance the awareness of HCWs regarding HBV infection and vaccination. It is necessary to implement comprehensive vaccination programs against hepatitis B in various medical fields. In addition, a mandatory and cost-free policy for hepatitis B vaccination should be established for HCWs and medical students.

This study was the basic data necessary to develop a training program for infection control personnel by understanding the present status and needs of infection control training programs. This is a mixed-method research using a mixture of descriptive surveys and focus interviews. A descriptive study was conducted in 9 institutions that satisfied the criteria as a training institution for those working in infection control office under the Enforcement Rules of the Medical Service Act. For the study, a survey was conducted from October 31 to November 7, 2022. Focus group interviews were conducted separately with six doctors and six nurses. Survey results showed that 31 training programs on infection control were conducted in 2022 at the nine institutions, with 5,179 participants and an average duration of 9.32 hours. About 64.5% of the cases were participants of the training program involved in two or more occupations, and there was no separate training program for other participants recognized by the heads of medical institutions. As for the training methods, face-to-face and online schemes showed similar results in the survey, but the subjects preferred face-to-face education. In this study, there was a lack of specialized training programs tailored to various types of medical institutions and training programs targeting some occupations. Therefore, cooperative efforts by each organization are needed to establish governance to set up a step-by-step infection control education system that can meet education demans and provide systematic education, such as integrating or developing new programs.

Knowledge, Attitude and Practice of Infection Control among Medical Imaging Students in Unisza

Healthcare-associated infections risk in health care settings has caused a great concern to medical imaging students during clinical attachment due to high interaction rate with patients. Students may spread infections through inadequate knowledge and poor practice, which may then degrade the standard of care. Preventive measures and infection control policies have been developed to prevent the spread of infections, lower morbidity and medical care costs. However, recent evidence revealed poor level of health science students’ knowledge regarding infection control. This cross-sectional survey-based study is aimed to determine level of knowledge, attitude and practice towards infection control. This study is also aimed to determine the association between knowledge, attitude, and practice level of infection control and standard precautions among uniSZA medical imaging students. The sampling method used was purposive sampling. An online questionnaire was distributed using social media platforms, Whatsapp from 21th March to 22th April 2023. The questionnaire consists of 12 items on knowledge, 7 items on attitude and 10 items on practice about infection control. A total of 136 medical imaging students participated in this study, 98 Bachelor’s degree students and 38 Diploma students. Overall knowledge, attitude and practice level among students were good. The percentage of respondents had good knowledge, positive attitude and good practice were 100% (n=136), 100% (n=136) and 98.5% (n=134) respectively. Fisher’s exact test shows there was no association between attitude level and practice level of infection control among respondents (p =1.00). Continuous infection control training and education program are still required to enhance awareness of standard precautions and thus reduce infection exposure. Future recommendations are to include all health science students and medical students to participate in the survey. Further studies to assess the extent of public knowledge regarding infection control may also be conducted.

The Impact of COVID-19 on Infection Control Measures in Dental Settings: A Cross-Sectional Study.

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on every aspect of life, especially for healthcare professionals. Dentists are the most at risk of infection due to close contact with patients. This study aimed to assess the level of awareness, perception, and attitude of Palestinian dentists towards COVID-19 and infection control. A cross-sectional online survey was conducted from 17-30 July 2020, and 349 dentists from the West Bank participated. The survey assessed demographic variables, participation in infection control training, prevention methods used in dental clinics, patient preparation for dental work, cross-infection control and sterilization before and after the pandemic, and sources for guideline protocols for dental workers. The results of the study showed that 54 (14.4%) dentists had received training in infection control in dentistry and 121 (34.3%) had attended training specifically regarding COVID-19. During a partial lockdown, 60% of dentists treated only urgent cases. Overall, the dentists in the West Bank demonstrated good knowledge and a positive attitude towards COVID-19 and infection control measures in dental clinics, as there were significant differences between replacing a medical apron or mask and wearing a face shield, cover shoes, head cap, and goggles before and after COVID (p < 0.05). Moreover, there were significant differences between wrapping the chair and using purification devices to disinfect the clinic before and after COVID (p < 0.05). However, dentists' knowledge could be improved by increasing their accessibility to materials and provided training. Dental associations should provide guidelines regularly to dentists during a crisis to inform them of best practices and disease management. In conclusion, dentists need to update their knowledge, continuing education and training to guarantee the proper handling of COVID-19. The study's findings show the importance of updating infection control protocols and training programs that address the specific needs and challenges faced by dentists in the West Bank.

Improving the knowledge of and compliance with infection control for emerging respiratory infectious diseases among nursing students using importance-performance analysis: A descriptive survey study

BackgroundDue to a lack of prior training on emerging respiratory infectious diseases (ERIDs), systematic nursing guidelines, supplies, and manpower, nurses experienced extreme physical and psychological stress while providing care to patients with infectious diseases during the pandemic. ObjectivesThis study aimed to investigate the knowledge of and compliance with infection control for ERIDs among nursing students, as well as identify the priorities in infection control knowledge and compliance using importance-performance analysis (IPA), to prepare supporting data for developing infection control training programs for ERIDs. DesignThis descriptive survey used IPA to examine nursing students' knowledge of infection control priorities and ERID compliance. SettingThe participants were recruited from a convenience sample of first- to fourth-year nursing majors from one region of South Korea. ParticipantsData were collected from 481 nursing students through a questionnaire survey conducted between May 3 and June 30, 2022. MethodsData were examined using descriptive statistics, an independent t-test, a one-way analysis of variance, and IPA. ResultsThe IPA results showed that among 12 items related to nursing students' knowledge of infection control for ERIDs, item #1 (definition of ERID) belonged to quadrant C (low priority), whereas all other items (items #2–12) belonged to quadrant A (concentrate here). Among 12 items related to compliance with infection control for ERIDs, items #2 (hand hygiene) and #3 (mask wearing) belonged to quadrant B (keep up the good work), whereas the remaining 10 items belonged to quadrant A (concentrate here). ConclusionIn order to improve nursing students' knowledge of and compliance with infection control for ERIDs, infection control training with more specific material should replace the present curriculum in South Korea.

Paramedics’ knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding the use of personal protective equipment against COVID-19

The risk of novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) transmission in the confined mobile ambulance compartment is increased during aerosol-generating procedures and close proximity. Paramedics are encouraged to increase body-surface-isolation by donning additional personal protective equipment (PPE) during patient encounters. This study aimed to better understand paramedics' knowledge, attitudes, and practices related to PPE use during the COVID-19 pandemic in the prehospital setting with a focus on mitigating risks associated with infection control. This prospective quantitative study collected descriptive data using a specifically designed data collection tool. The survey data was then cleaned and analyzed with Microsoft Excel® and the latest version of the Statistical Package for Social Sciences. One thousand frontline paramedics employed by the Hamad Medical Corporation Ambulance Service (HMCAS) were invited via email to participate in the study. A total of 282 (28.2% of frontline paramedics) paramedics completed the online survey, of which 80.1% completed the mandatory HMCAS online infection control training program within the last year, and 17.0% between one to two years ago. Approximately 83% of the participants had completed an N95 mask fit test at HMCAS within the past five years, and 91.5% completed the hand hygiene training. The study found that 98.2% of the paramedics were knowledgeable about COVID-19 and its transmission, while 96.1% agreed that aerosol-generating procedures increased airborne transmission. The paramedics' attitudes were mainly positive toward the use of PPE to prevent the spread of the virus, which was synchronous with their practice. The sample population demonstrated a strong knowledge of COVID-19 and its transmission. Their overall positive attitudes and good infection control practices were demonstrative of efforts to mitigate risks associated with the spread of the virus.

The effectiveness of COPA-based training program on the infection-control competencies of newly hired healthcare professionals

Competency-based education that relies on nurses’ and healthcare professionals’ needs assessment is crucial to tackling healthcare crises such as COVID-19. Strengthening the capacities of human resources by implementing customized infection control training programs is therefore mandatory. This study aims to measure the effectiveness and satisfaction of the Competency Outcomes and Performance Assessment (COPA)-based training program. The study implemented a single group pretest-posttest experimental design. A single-stage cluster sampling technique was used. All field hospitals in Jordan were listed, and one hospital was randomly selected. A total of 87 personnel from different disciplines agreed to participate after reading the letter of information and signing the informed consent. A panel of experts representing different disciplines and hospital units initially met and agreed upon a list of competencies required for the training program, and the program was accordingly developed. The study measured the healthcare professionals’ competencies in infection control and prevention before and after the administration of the competency-based training program. The results revealed significant differences between participants’ pretest and posttest scores in all infection control domains and the total scores. For example, the increase in participants’ total competency scores after the training was statistically significant (P < 0.007). The mean total satisfaction score was 61.18 + 7.00 reflecting that the participants were highly satisfied with the provided training. In conclusion, it is imperative to provide healthcare professionals with adequate clinical training to ensure that healthcare services are going to be delivered in the highest possible quality and minimize the possible adverse events.

Implementation of a coronavirus disease 2019 infection prevention and control training program in a low-middle income country.

ABSTRACTIntroduction and aims:The COVID-19 pandemic poses an ongoing risk to health workers globally. This is particularly true in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) where resource constraints, ongoing waves of infection, and limited access to vaccines disproportionately burden health systems. Thus, infection prevention and control (IPC) training for COVID-19 remains an important tool to safeguard health workers. We report on the implementation of evidence-based and role-specific COVID-19 IPC training for health workers in a hospital and public health field setting in Sri Lanka.Methods:We describe the development of training materials, which were contextualized to local needs and targeted to different staffing categories including support staff. We describe development of role- and context-specific IPC guidelines and accompanying training materials and videos during the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic. We describe in-person training activities and an overview of session leadership and participation.Results:Key to program implementation was the role of champions in facilitating the training, as well as delivery of training sessions featuring multi-media videos and role play to enhance the training experience. A total of 296 health workers participated in the training program sessions. Of these, 198 were hospital staff and 98 were from the public health workforce. Of the 296 health workers who participated in a training session, 277 completed a pre-test questionnaire and 256 completed post-test questionnaires. A significant increase in knowledge score was observed among all categories of staff who participated in training;however, support staff had the lowest pre-test knowledge on IPC practices at 71%, which improved to only 77% after the formal class.Conclusion:Implementing an IPC training program during a complex health emergency is a challenging, yet necessary task. Leveraging champions, offering training through multiple modalities including the use of videos and role play, as well as inclusion of all staff categories, is crucial to making training accessible.

Knowledge, attitude, and practice of paramedics in Qatar regarding the use of personal protective equipment against COVID-19

Background: Internationally, the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) pandemic, causing corona virus disease (COVID-19), has increased the demand on healthcare services and resources1. The proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by paramedics has recently become apparent2. The risk of COVID-19 transmission has increased during prehospital life-saving procedures generating aerosols such as non-invasive ventilation, tracheal intubation, and external chest compressions, especially when working in a confined ambulance compartment3. Paramedics are encouraged to increase body-surface-isolation by donning additional PPE (high-filtration facemasks/face shields/surgical gowns/surgical hoods) during all patient encounters2. This study aimed to better understand paramedics’ knowledge, attitude, and practice of PPE utilization in the State of Qatar during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: This prospective and quantitative study focused on the collection of descriptive data utilizing a purpose-designed online survey. Around 1300 frontline paramedics employed by Hamad Medical Corporation Ambulance Service (HMCAS) were invited via email to participate in the study. Results: 282 paramedics completed the survey. 90.4% were male and 78.7% had a bachelor&apos;s degree. 97.1% completed the mandatory HMCAS online infection control training program, 82.9% completed an N95 mask fit test in the last 5 years, and 91.5% completed the hand hygiene training program. The study found paramedics to be knowledgeable about COVID-19 and its transmission (98.2%) (Table 1). Paramedics’ attitude was mainly positive towards the use of PPE to prevent the spread of the virus which was synchronous with their practice. Conclusion: An effective model to curb the spread of COVID-19 amongst healthcare workers must consider the knowledge, attitude, and practice of first responders. This sample demonstrated a strong knowledge of COVID-19 and its transmission. Their overall positive attitude and good infection control practices were a demonstrative effort to mitigate risks associated with the spread of the virus in the prehospital setting.

Assessment of Nursing Performance toward Enteral Feeding at Pediatric Critical Care Units

Background: This study aimed to assess Nursing Performance toward Enteral Feeding at Pediatric Critical Care Units. Subjects and methods: A descriptive study was conducted at pediatric critically care units (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) – Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) – Emergency department) in the Children's Hospital affiliated to Ain-Shams University Hospitals. Sampling: A convenient sample composed of all available nurses at the previously mentioned settings regardless the age, gender, level of education, training and years of experience, their total number was 100 nurses. Tools: A structured questionnaire sheet to assess nurses’ characteristics and their knowledge regarding enteral feeding. The second tool was an observation checklist to assess nurses' practice toward enteral feeding. The third tool was an attitude sheet to assess nurses' attitude toward enteral feeding. Results: revealed that the nearly half of studied nurses had 20-<25 years. That majority of studied nurses had technical institute of nursing and bachelor of nursing Also, it was clear that about three fifths of the studied nurses had satisfactory level of knowledge regarding enteral feeding. Less than half of studied nurses had positive attitude level about enteral feeding. And less than three quarters of the studied nurses had competent total level of practice regarding enteral feeding at pediatric critical care units. Conclusion: the study concluded that, the majority of the studied nurses had good level of knowledge, incomplete level of practice and negative attitude regarding enteral feeding. Recommendation: the study recommended that, Implementation of infection control training program for nurses regarding enteral feeding. Continuous monitoring and teaching on spot from nurse supervisor are needed to ensure quality of care provided by nurses for enteral feeding.

Nurses' Knowledge, Practice And Compliance About Aseptic Technique For Patient Undergoing Hemodialysis

Abstract: Background: The quality of hemodialysis patient nursing care should be consistent with national standards of care, which are used as a starting point for better, more exceptional practice, and adherence ensures efficacy. Aim: To assess nurses' knowledge, practice, and compliance with aseptic technique for hemodialysis patients. Design: Descriptive research design was used. Setting: The research was carried out in a hemodialysis unit at Assiut University Hospital in Egypt. A convenience sample of 40 nurses was taken. Tools: (1) Nurses' questionnaire, (2) Observation Checklist Sheet, (3) Assessment of Nurses' Aseptic Technique Compliance Sheet. Results: The majority of them had a diploma education with ≥10 years of experience and 75% attained infection control training programs. 55% of the studied nurses had a poor knowledge level about infection control regarding hemodialysis and not compliance to standard precaution for patients undergoing hemodialysis. Conclusion: Majority of the nurses had a poor level of knowledge regarding infection control in hemodialysis unit, aseptic techniques were noncompliance to the standard of nursing care for hemodialysis patient. Recommendations: Continuous education and refreshment for nurses' knowledge and practice regarding infection control education in hemodialysis units

Anesthesiology and Critical Care Response to COVID-19 in Resource-Limited Settings: Experiences from Nepal.

It is difficult to predict the future course and length of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, which has devastated health care systems in low- and middle-income countries. Anesthesiology and critical care services are hard hit because many hospitals have stopped performing elective surgeries, staff and scarce hospital resources have been diverted to manage COVID-19 patients, and several makeshift COVID-19 units had to be set up. Intensive care units are overwhelmed with critically ill patients. In these difficult times, low- and middle-income countries need to improvise, perform indigenous research, adapt international guidelines to suit local needs, and target attainable clinical goals.

Assessment of knowledge and practice toward infection control and prevention standards among intern doctors in Saudi Arabia

Background: Patients and healthcare workers are susceptible to health care associated infections if they are not compliant with infection prevention and control standards. There are no previous studies regarding the assessment of knowledge and practice of intern doctors toward infection prevention and control precautions in Saudi Arabia.Methods: A cross-sectional study that was carried-out on 259 intern doctors at the main hospitals of Riyadh city in Saudi Arabia. A self-administered questionnaire was distributed to the participants after validation during their clinical rounds and their morning meetings of their departments. Data were analysed using SPSS version 21.0. Results: Out of 259 participants, the overall mean score for knowledge assessment was 79.4±7.52. For hand hygiene mean score was 23.53±2.66 out of 30, personal protective equipment mean score was 20.63±2.49 out of 25. A significant low level of knowledge regarding needle stick injury with a score of 19.18±2.50 out of 30. Regarding, knowledge towards isolation precautions, around 50% reported adequate knowledge regarding isolation precautions. Meanwhile, 78 (30.1%) denied receiving any form of training or orientation in infection control. Conclusions: There is a moderate level of knowledge and satisfactory level of practice among intern doctors in Riyadh. However, there was some misconceptions regarding needle stick injury and isolation precaution. Implementing infection control education and training programs is recommended before starting clinical practice.

KNOWLEDGE AND ATTITUDE TOWARDS ANTHRAX AT THE ANTHRAX BELT SIRAJGONJ DISTRICT IN BANGLADESH

Background: Anthrax is one of the most important endemic zoonotic diseases due to its negative impact on the smallholder farmers associated with mortality in livestock and disease in humans in Bangladesh. Objective: The main objective of this investigation was to assess the extent of knowledge, awareness, attitude and practices addressing anthrax in animals and humans in the communities of Bangladesh Materials and Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional survey was conducted in the ‘anthrax belt’ Sirajgonj district where several anthrax outbreaks have been reported in both the livestock and humans. A total of 26 household were selected randomly for sampling from each of four villages during the period from August to December 2013. A total of 104 adult respondents participated in the questionnaire survey and the data were calculated by using the formula 4 pq/d2 and Chi-square test using software. Results: Result shows that 55.8% of the community respondents had knowledge of anthrax, while 44.2% of them did not. Analysis of anthrax cases record obtained from respondents showed 49.8% animals, 44.0% humans and 6.2% birds affected with this disease. Only 18.3 to 28.2% respondents knew the clinical signs cutaneous, gastro-intestinal and pulmonary forms, whereas 13.3 to 25.5% respondents knew more than one transmission routes in animals and humans. A certain percentage (2.9 to 16.8% &amp; 8.9 to 20.9%) of community people obtained information on the outbreaks of anthrax in animals and humans from communication media, NGO workers and community health workers. Conclusions: The knowledge on anthrax of the participants was low with no consistent understanding of the disease. The educated family members in farming practices could improve the awareness and knowledge towards zoonotic diseases including anthrax. These findings could be useful for the decision makers to build technical capacity of veterinary medical services and to foster a ‘One Health’ approach especially a continued infection prevention and control training program for animal owners and local residents with close surveillance and reporting, burying or cremation of dead animal carcasses and decontamination and disinfection procedures as well as immunization of animals against anthrax to prevent the infection in endemic areas. Impact of Infection Control Training Program in Improving the Quality of Healthcare

The purpose of this study was to explore the impact of various training programs and guidelines on improving the healthcare quality and patient. The training programs that we have explained in this study are related to Hand Hygiene compliance, Improving clinical outcomes and reducing financial burden and Preventing healthcare associated infection, This study Applied to many health institutions and healthcare employees in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, It is from this analysis that improve quality of healthcare through control training program, IPC training program improve hand hygiene compliance and reduces the HAIs prevalence, improves patient outcomes and reduces healthcare costs, training of all the persons involved in primary healthcare may fill the IPC gaps.

Scope of practice and educational needs of infection prevention and control professionals in Australian residential aged care facilities.

Healthcare-associated infections are serious and significant complications present across healthcare services, including residential aged care facilities. Although ensuring high quality personal and clinical care delivered to older people residing in these facilities is a high national priority, there is a paucity of evidence published about outbreaks, governance and education programs held for healthcare workers within Australian residential aged care facilities. The aim of this study is to examine the scope of practice of Infection Prevention and Control professionals within Australian residential aged care facilities and the types of infection prevention and control education and training delivered. A cross-sectional study was conducted inviting all Australian residential aged care facilities to participate in an online survey. A total of 134 residential aged care facilities completed the survey. The majority (88.1%) reported having a designated Infection Prevention and Control professional responsible for surveillance and educational activities. Hand hygiene (94%), personal protective equipment (PPE) (79.9%) and environmental cleaning (70.1%) were some of the available Infection Prevention and Control programs. The lack of access to Infection Prevention and Control education (69.5%) and lack of Infection Prevention and Control expert advice (67.2%) were also reported by some Residential aged care facilities. Australian residential aged care facilities recognise the importance of Infection Prevention and Control training programs to manage infection surveillance and outbreaks. Considerable activities are carried out to increase knowledge on breaking the chain of infection. Yet, more support and resources are needed to assist these efforts.

Healthcare Personnel Opinion and their Implementation Obstacles Regarding the Standard Precautions in Hemodialysis Unit

Context: Hemodialysis HD patients, as well as the dialysis staff, are vulnerable to contracting health-care-associated infections (HAIs) due to frequent and prolonged exposure to many possible contaminants in the dialysis environment.&#x0D; Aim: Assess healthcare personnel HCP opinion and their implementation obstacles regarding standard precautions (SPs) in the hemodialysis unit.&#x0D; Methods: The study conducted at the hemodialysis unit at Al Mouwasat University Hospital, Alexandria, Egypt. A descriptive research design was used to collect data for this study. All healthcare personnel working in the setting mentioned above were included. Two tools were used. The first tool is a standard precautions practices in hemodialysis observational checklist: The second tool is a structured interview questionnaire to assess the opinion of healthcare personnel regarding the applicability of standard precautions in the hemodialysis unit and their implementation obstacles.&#x0D; Results: The standard precautions practice score showed unsatisfactory practice among HCP. Regarding their opinion, the majority of HCP disagreed to follow the five moments and reported that the WHO technique of hand hygiene is so sophisticated and time-consuming; they disagreed with changing gloves between patients and considering gloves as a substitute to hand hygiene. The majority recap the needle by two hand techniques disagreed with following respiratory hygiene, and color-coding was accepted only from nurses. Also, it was found that there was a positive correlation between years of experience, infection control training programs, and the level of SPs practice score.&#x0D; Conclusion: Unsatisfactory SPs practices showed a high percentage of HCP. Healthcare personnel tends to agree to certain infection control practices over other practices. Availability and accessibility of equipment and supplies that interfere with the application of SPs practices and lack of knowledge concerning infection prevention and control were considered as implementation obstacles of SPs practices. Education and training of HCP on SPs, together with consistent and robust management support, are recommended. In addition to the development of national precautions after conducting researches that confirm its effectiveness.
