Exploring the Mediating Role of Information Security Culture in Enhancing Sustainable Practices Through Integrated Systems Infrastructure

The need for sustainable development, coupled with the growth in industrialization, creates a complex environment in which businesses strive to achieve and maintain a competitive advantage. Information now forms a vital part of how firms perform in today’s globalized corporate world. This paper explores the impact of information systems on sustainable organizational operations. Furthermore, it observes how IT infrastructure and information security policy (ISP) play vital roles in the changing business environment. The importance of information security culture (ISC) as a mediator in developing the association between the independent and dependent variables is also investigated. Reviewing these categories’ interactions within the context of transitional economics is the main goal. To assess and predict the impact of ISs, ISP, ITI, and ISC on sustainable organizational performance (SOP), 214 businesses took part in a structured survey. For data cleaning and reliability analysis, SPSS software was used; for mediation analysis, the Preacher and Hayes approach was applied; and, for multiple linear regression analysis, Python was applied. The study is significant for developing countries in the role of IS for the effectiveness of IT governance and strategic integration. The findings indicate that organizational performance is substantially impacted by information security policy (ISP), IT infrastructure (ITI), and information security culture (ISC).

Adoption and impact of generative artificial intelligence on blockchain-enabled supply chain efficiency

Purpose The purpose of this study is to investigate the primary determinants influencing the acceptance of generative artificial intelligence (GAI) adoption within Blockchain-enabled environments. Further research will examine the impact of GAI adoption on supply chain efficiency (SCE) through the enhancement of Blockchain. Design/methodology/approach Drawing on innovation diffusion theory (IDT), this study used partial least square structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) to look into the hypotheses. The data were gathered via online questionnaires from employers of Chinese supply chain enterprises that have already integrated Blockchain. Findings The findings of this study demonstrate that relative advantages (RAs), compatibility, trialability and observability have a significant positive effect on GAI adoption, while complexity harms GAI adoption. Above all, the GAI adoption has significantly enhanced Blockchain, thus effectively improving SCE. Practical implications The outcomes from this study furnish enterprises and organizations with valuable insights to proficiently integrate GAI and Blockchain capability, optimize supply chain management and bolster market competitiveness. Also, this study will help accelerate the successful integration of business processes and attain Sustainability Development Goals 9, industrial growth and industrial diversification. Originality/value To the extent of the author’s knowledge, the current status of the GAI study remains largely exploratory, and there is limited empirical evidence on integrating Blockchain capability and GAI. This research bridges the knowledge gap by fully revealing the optimal integration of these two transformative technologies to leverage their potential advantages in supply chain management.

Nigerian Broadcast Stations on Cable Networks: Navigating the Entry, Sustenance and Exit Triad

The Nigerian broadcasting industry has been facing significant challenges for 33 years, despite leveraging cable networks to improve broadcast quality. This study aims to identify the factors that influence their ability to enter and exit cable networks, explore the factors that affect their effectiveness, and assess their current condition on cable networks. This study relied on normative theories that provide guidelines for the media to operate in a way that best serves society. The theories include public interest, freedom of expression, and economic efficiency, as canvassed by authoritarian, liberation, and social responsibility theories. The methodology used in this study was survey research of media practitioners, with a sample size of 385, a questionnaire research instrument, and the use of simple percentages for data analysis. The study found that several factors, such as regulatory frameworks, market structures, and technological infrastructures influence the Nigerian broadcast industry's success on cable networks. To promote the industry's growth, the regulatory framework needs to be more transparent, the market structure needs to be more competitive, and the technological infrastructure needs to be more developed. To make Nigerian broadcast stations succeed, they need to focus on improving content quality, fostering strategic collaborations, and creating a competitive landscape. Furthermore, specific policy adaptations should be made to help Nigerian broadcast stations keep up with industry trends and improve the quality of their content.

The Impact of Land Development Rights Transfer on Urban–Rural Spatial Justice: A Case Study of Chongqing’s Land Quota Trading

Spatial justice, as a fundamental value in social systems, plays a key role in achieving social justice and improving human well-being. Drawing on theories of spatial justice, property rights, and new institutional economics, this study explores the comprehensive impact of land development rights (LDR) transfer on urban–rural spatial economic, resources, social, and ecological equity from the perspective of urban–rural spatial justice. Using the Chongqing land quota trading pilot as the core case, we apply synthetic control methods to analyze the causal effects of this policy. The results show that LDR transfer promotes urban–rural spatial resources equity in the short term, particularly through the marketization of land transactions. Over the long term, it significantly enhances urban–rural spatial economic and social equity, evidenced by the narrowing of the income gap, the growth of the primary industry, and improved connectivity between urban and rural areas. However, the improvement in ecological equity through LDR transfer lacks sustainability, suggesting the need for stronger ecological protection measures in future policies. By establishing a comprehensive framework for urban–rural spatial justice and using comparative spatial indicators to measure equity, this study advances our understanding of how LDR transfer can promote urban–rural spatial justice and provides valuable insights for future policy refinement and institutional reforms.

Islamic Fintech Development Strategy in Indonesia: Analytic Network Process (ANP) Approach

This study aims to analyze problem priorities, solutions and strategies in the development of Islamic fintech in Indonesia by using Analytical Network Process (ANP) method. The background of this study is the rapid growth of the Islamic fintech industry in Indonesia, but until now the map has not been found in its development. This study involved stakeholders from the government/ regulators, practitioners and academics as the research respondents. The results of this study showed that the problem priorities of Islamic fintech development in Indonesia respectively are Regulation, Literacy, Human Resources (HR) and Capital. While the solution priorities respectively are Literacy, Human Resources (HR), Regulation and Capital. The alternative priorities for the Islamic fintech development strategy in Indonesia respectively are Increasing Literacy, Strengthening Government Support, Improving Quality and Quantity of Human Resources (HR), Expanding Access to Capital and Creating Ecosystems. This study shows that collaborative efforts are needed so that the Islamic fintech industry in Indonesia can develop and be sustainable.

Can You Still Trust Insurance Workers? Unmasking Unethical Practices in Indonesia’s Insurance Industry

The insurance industry plays a pivotal role in fostering economic stability and protecting against uncertainties. However, its reputation is often tainted by unethical practices within its workforce, ranging from manipulative sales tactics to broken promises. This empirical study examines the prevalence and impact of unethical behavior in Indonesia’s insurance sector, focusing on agents, human resource managers, and other professionals. Through qualitative analysis, incorporating interviews with 11 customers who reported negative experiences, this research uncovers patterns of misconduct that erode trust and hinder industry growth. Findings reveal deceptive practices such as misleading policy terms and exploitative sales techniques, which undermine consumer confidence and obstruct the sector’s alignment with global sustainability goals. The study emphasizes the need for urgent ethical reforms, robust regulatory frameworks, and targeted behavioral training programs to rebuild trust and realign the industry with its critical societal and economic roles. Analysis of the anthropogenic effect on the Silencio River in Salvador Escalante, Michoacán, México

The average annual water availability worldwide is approximately 1,386 trillion cubic hectometers (hm3), of which 97.5% is saltwater and only 2.5% is freshwater. Nearly 70% is not available for human consumption as it is in glaciers, snow, and ice. It is estimated that only 0.77% is accessible freshwater for human use. Mexico has an availability of 451,584.7 million cubic meters (m3) of freshwater, with accessibility and distribution being unequal. The growth in urbanization, population, and industrialization has caused a decrease in water quality, and other parameters. Organic and inorganic contaminants evolved from various sources cause the degradation of water quality. The pollution of aquatic bodies, such as rivers and lakes, is one of the main problems in the world. In Salvador Escalante in México, the domestic wastewaters treatment plant (WWTP) is being exposed to effluents contaminated with metals like copper, cadmium, lead, and mercury. In this work, active sludges from the WWTP were analyzed. First, particle size distribution of flocs was measured by a sedimentation process. Secondly, analysis of the tolerance that microorganisms exhibit to metals (i.e., factors) was performed, based on a 2$\hat {}$(4-1) factorial design of experiments at laboratory-scale, measuring pH, chemical oxygen demand (COD) and electrical conductivity (responses). This aims to evaluate the capacity of the WWTP for improve the water quality. Microbiologic cultures were used for a qualitative study of the microorganisms contained in the active sludges; it was found that Enterobacterium does not grow in presence of heavy metals. Cadmium is the most harmful metal for microorganisms according to Pareto diagrams presented in this study.

Growth and characterization of high-quality Zr doped AlN epilayers

AlN stands out for its remarkable figures of merit for electronic and photonic devices, attributed to its ultrawide bandgap of ∼6.1 eV and an exceptionally high critical field of ∼15 MV/cm. More recently, zirconium (Zr) doped AlN (AlN:Zr) has also been identified as a promising material platform for the exploration of solid-state qubits for quantum information and technology, high performance piezoelectric acoustic wave resonators, and optically triggered ultrafast power switching devices facilitated by optically activating Zr related impurities. Despite the significant potential, the ability for producing AlN:Zr epitaxial structures has yet to be established. In this study, we have achieved AlN:Zr epilayers with a high Zr doping level [NZr] of up to 1020 cm−3 using industrial standard metal-organic chemical vapor deposition growth technique. High crystalline quality of AlN:Zr was confirmed by x-ray diffraction, revealing a narrow full width at half maximum of the (002) rocking curve at 216 arcsec for 1.8 μm thick epilayers deposited on sapphire at [NZr]=1020 cm−3. Zr doping was observed to slightly increase the c-lattice constant to 4.992 Å for AlN:Zr (at [NZr]=1020 cm−3) compared to 4.980 Å for undoped AlN. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy measurement results verified the substitution of Zr at the Al site (ZrAl). The formation of (ZrAl–VN) complexes, which are predicted to possess all the desired properties required by quantum qubits, was confirmed through optical absorption studies. The realization of high-quality AlN:Zr epilayers significantly broadens the scope of technologically significant device applications for AlN.

Assessing the tourism efficiency in the Caspian Sea region

ABSTRACT This research studies the operational effectiveness of the tourism industry in the Caspian regions of Kazakhstan, Russia and Azerbaijan during the 2003–2022 period, with a particular emphasis on the impact of the recent crises (COVID-19, Ukrainian war). To this end, the paper uses the data envelopment analysis meta-frontier model, the Simar and Wilson regression and the autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA) forecasting technique. The findings indicate significant disparities in tourism regional performance, with Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan particularly affected by the pandemic and the Ukrainian War. Forecasts indicate potential growth in the tourism industry of the Republic of Kalmykia, Russia, contingent on specific conditions.

Southern Yakutia coal complex as an instrument of the regional industrial policy

The coal industry occupies a significant place in the economy of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia). Currently, there is a slowdown in activity on the world coal markets, which is the result of many factors, including global competition, the growing share of renewable energy sources, and sanctions between countries. The last five years have been a stage of stable growth and development for the Russian coal industry, including the republic. The more than twofold increase in coal production in the Sakha Republic (Yakutia), as well as the implementation of key projects such as the development of the Elga coal complex, projects of Kolmar Group and AnthraciteInvestProject LLC create prerequisites for sustainable development of the coal industry in the long term. The main coal deposits under development are located in Neryungri District in the south of the republic. Neryungri District is one of the important centers of coal mining, thanks to which Yakutia holds a stable position among the largest coal-mining regions of Russia. The article considers the current state of the coal industry on the example of Neryungri District, including the characterization of coal reserves by major subsoil users. The forecast of coal production by the main coal-mining enterprises of Neryungri District up to 2030 shows optimistic trends, taking into account global trends in demand for coal. The research materials are the data of the territorial body of the Federal State Statistics Service of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia).

The rapid growth of the fashion industry has significantly influenced consumer behavior, especially among university students. This study examines the role of fashion trends and Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) in purchasing decisions for Von Dutch products among students. Using a qualitative approach through literature review, the research integrates insights from academic sources to analyze these phenomena. Findings reveal that fashion trends create a sense of identity and belonging, while FoMO drives impulsive purchasing behavior due to social and emotional pressures. The combination of these factors significantly impacts students’ decisions to buy Von Dutch products, highlighting the importance of nostalgia-driven marketing strategies. These results provide valuable insights for marketers targeting young consumers.

Penerapan Simple Additive Weighting dalam Merekomendasikan Karyawan untuk Pekerjaan Pengembangan Perangkat Lunak

The rapid growth of the software industry has directly increased the demand for reliable and skilled programming employees (programmers). The success of this industry heavily relies on the technical expertise of the development team, particularly in mastering programming languages and the latest technologies. Therefore, an efficient and effective system is essential for selecting the right programmer based on project requirements. This selection process can optimize resource allocation and enhance the chances of project success. This research proposes the development of an employee recommendation system based on the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method. The case study is applied at CV Garuda Infinity Kreasindo, a software development company located in Bandung. This system is designed to assist project managers in identifying the programmer who best fits the project's technical needs. By utilizing four criteria—specifically, the employee's programming role, the programming languages they have mastered, and their experience with databases and frameworks—decisions can be made objectively regarding the employees needed for a specific project at CV Garuda Infinity Kreasindo.

This research paper aims to analyze the impact of green industrialization on economic growth of Pakistan with especial reference to the challenges faced in green industrial sectors. By conducting an extensive analysis of relevant literature and cross-national case studies, we identify literature challenges to green programs and provide appropriate mitigation measures suitable for Pakistan economic environment. We assess the correlation between green policies, renewable energy production, and GDP growth using a comprehensive econometric model. Complexities of riverfront development for the hilly city of Paonta Sahib in India.

The rapid urbanization, industrial growth, and socio-cultural activities along riverbanks in hilly cities are transforming land use and intensifying water infrastructure challenges. Paonta Sahib, a culturally significant town in Himachal Pradesh on the Yamuna River, along the foothills of the Himalayas exemplifies these pressures due to its religious tourism, industrialization, and mining activities. This study explores sustainable riverfront development at Paonta Sahib, addressing socio-cultural, environmental, and technical concerns essential for eco-sensitive urban planning. A Strength, Weakness, Opportunity and Threat (SWOT) analysis highlights strengths such as Paonta Sahib's strong cultural identity and economic potential, alongside weaknesses like limited water infrastructure and unregulated land use. Opportunities for eco-sensitive zoning and circular economy practices are proposed as strategies to mitigate environmental impacts, with financial projections indicating a 68 million INR annual cost recovery over a 35-year development period. Additionally, pollutant scenario analysis is recommended to support effective water quality management. Findings emphasize the importance of collaborative efforts between local authorities, technical experts, and communities to address the extreme hydrological, environmental, and planning challenges faced by riverbank cities. This balanced approach seeks to enhance Paonta Sahib's urban identity while preserving ecological integrity, offering a model for sustainable development in similar hilly settlements. The proposed framework aims to guide future policies for resilient riverfront urbanization, emphasizing adaptive planning, community engagement, and infrastructure that support both economic growth and environmental sustainability.

Analysis of the Tolerance of 22 Malus baccata Accessions to Alkali Stress

Alkali stress is an important factor that restricts the growth and yield of crops. Apple (Malus baccata Borkh.) rootstocks have attracted widespread attention because of their wide distribution and ability to exist in various forms. This study reported the tolerance of several M. baccata accessions to alkaline stress using the sand culture method. Nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K) contents in the roots of 22 M. baccata accessions decreased after 40 days of alkali stress exposure. N and P contents in the leaves of most M. baccata seedlings decreased, whereas K content increased. In addition, the new leaf number and fresh and dry weights of the M. baccata accessions decreased significantly, indicating that alkali stress inhibits the growth of M. baccata seedlings. The 22 M. baccata accessions were divided into three categories: high, moderate, and low tolerance based on the cluster analysis of the resistance coefficients of six growth indices combined with the average resistance coefficient evaluation of the growth indices. These delineations are important for screening M. baccata resources. This study provides a basis for the growth of the apple industry in areas such as northwest China, which suffer from severe salinization.

Spatial temporal dynamics and influential factors of habitat quality in China's Southern Longji rice terrace ecosystem

Rice terrace ecosystems (RTEs) offer a wealth of ecosystem services vital to human well-being. Regrettably, the recent period has witnessed a growing trend of abandonment and habitat degradation within RTEs. This study focuses on the Longji Terraces in Guilin, China, using remote sensing data from 1985–2020 to assess habitat quality (HQ) and its spatial-temporal dynamics. Furthermore, the driving factors of HQ is explored through ordinary least squares (OLS) and geographically weighted regression (GWR) models. The research reveals that forested areas are crucial for HQ, with an overall high average HQ, but significant degradation in certain areas. The growth of the tourism industry and the arrangement of the landscape are recognized as the key drivers of RTE-HQ (average annual R2 = 0.75). The findings provide a scientific basis for the conservation and sustainable use of global rice terraces.

An exploratory study on the perception of the over-the-top (OTT) industry among film and media production major university students: Utilizing the Q methodology.

This study investigates the perceptions of university students majoring in film and media production (FMP) regarding the over-the-top (OTT) industry. We used the Q methodology to achieve this study's purpose, with 33 Q sets and 22 university students majoring in FMP. The study revealed three perception structures of FMP major university students regarding the OTT industry. Type 1 considered the diversity and accessibility of OTT to be important from the consumer's perspective, and Type 2 emphasized the importance of improving the quality of content from the producer's perspective. Even though Type 3 considered the OTT industry an excellent platform, they tended to think of movies in theaters as the final destination. Based on the study's results, all types thought that the growth and development of the OTT industry would continue. However, the study demonstrated that they need perceptions from a macroscopic viewpoint in areas related to OTT industry technology, education, and systems.

Integrated electronic nose and multi-omics reveal changes in flavour characterization of cashmere goats and tan sheep meat

This study aimed to employ a multi-omics method to identify key compounds contributing to the sensory flavour of mutton and to investigate the internal correlation between volatile metabolites and lipids in Cashmere goats and Tan sheep. The results demonstrate that the electronic nose can effectively and quickly distinguish goats and sheep meat. A total of 18 volatile metabolites and 314 lipids were identified as significant contributors to the flavour difference between goats and sheep meat, as determined by HS-SPME-GC–MS and lipidomic respectively. Specifically, TG(18:1/20:4/20:4), TG(18:1/18:2/20:4), TG(18:1/18:1/20:4), DG(18:0/20:4), and dodecanoic acid influence flavour by participating in key KEGG pathways such as the “fat digestion and absorption”, “cholesterol metabolism” and “lipid and atherosclerosis”. This study lays the groundwork for understanding the sources and mechanisms of mutton flavour compounds, providing valuable insights to support the growth and development of the mutton industry.
