Nagios Core Optimization by Utilizing Telegram as Notification of Disturbance

Network Monitoring System (NMS) is a system that is highly demanded internet service provider industry in this fast-developing information technology era. The availability of NMS is the best option to restore the service level agreement as a means to compete with other internet service providers’ competitors. The occurrence of disturbance in the network is often unnoticed by the network administrator. This may lead to a crucial problem in decreasing network quality as the impact of time-consuming in solving the problem. Through the explanation, the writer tried to anticipate by classifying problems using Pareto, and integrated Nagios with Telegram Messenger as a notification of disturbance. Nagios has many features such as reports, event handler, monitoring resource (CPU load, memory usage, status up / down, up time, data traffic, bandwidth), etc. One of notable feature owned by Nagios is blast notification of disturbance. It is a feature that will function when one of the devices is in trouble. This feature will inform the network administrator or authorized person in a certain divisions as regards the error network. In this case, the problematic device can be categorized according to the parameters made by the network administrator.

Innovative Activities of a Logistics Company in the Global Value Chain

Business model innovation brings new value and revenue to enterprises. For industries with competitive advantages, strengthening the value chain is an important matter. This study explores the workings of the logistics service providers in the bicycle industry in Taiwan who provide an innovative and integrated value chain to customers with new value propositions to create a win-win situation. The study found that logistics company understand the needs and problems of customers. They integrate upstream and downstream customers in the value chain and provide processing services for bicycle manufacturers. The logistics company play an extended machining service provider of upstream suppliers. The innovative business model shortens the lead time of key components from suppliers to bicycle manufacturers. Innovation has changed the old value chain model and has improved the service capabilities of the logistics company.

Applications of business intelligence and marketing analytics in the complementary and alternative medicine industry

This case is designed to illustrate the application of business intelligence and marketing analytics to making proper decisions in a competitor-oriented pricing environment. The case started when Dan, the director of a business analytics consulting firm, was assigned a big project: to help Panacée Medical Center, one of the leading service providers in complementary and alternative medicine industry, envisage possible marketing strategies in response to competitors’ recent moves that threatened the sales and marketing strategies of its business. The case is divided into three parts. Case A provided an overview of challenges Panacée was facing when one of its competitors, Beauty and Clinic, was about to offer full complementary and alternative medicine services with a newly renovated, 5-star, resort-type clinic and high-quality facilities and another competitor, Natural Health Center, planned to promote its recent investment in a new laboratory that met international standards at the upcoming Thailand Health & Wellness Expo. Case B focused on insights into customers through different analytical techniques. Case C implicitly outlined possible strategies that might be applicable to Panacée, especially when the services from both Beauty and Clinic and Natural Health Center were expected to be priced 5% to 25% below the established market price. Dan needed to decide which direction he needed to propose to Panacée’s top management, as the combination of low prices and premium services threatened the medical center and Panacée might lose as much as 30% of its forecast revenue next year.

Purpose - This study can provide practical guidance to service contact employees who directly affect job performance, focusing on the awareness of service providers in the catering industry for linguistic communication that was applied separately in previous studies. As a result, the direction of the food service industry that can lead to higher customer satisfaction can be suggested. Therefore, this study intends to empirically examine the effect of verbal communication of service providers in the food service industry on self-awareness and the effect of self-awareness on job performance. Design, data, and methodology - Employees from the food service industry in Daegu and Gyeongbuk were surveyed from their 20s or older from December 1 to December 30, 2019 (about 4 weeks). A total of 200 people were surveyed, and 189 sincere respondents among the collected responses were used for analysis. Result -First, verbal communication showed that empathy had an effect on the negative emotions of self-perception, but response and trust did not. Second, verbal communication was found to have a positive (+) effect on empathy, response, and trust in positive emotions of self-perception. Third, in self-perception, negative emotions did not affect job performance, and positive emotions were found to have a significant positive (+) effect on job performance.

The Effect of Service Quality on Customers' Satisfaction in Mobile Phone Services in the UAE

This study aims to determine the dimensions of mobile service quality and to examine their effect on customer satisfaction in UAE mobile phone service providers while also investigating the behavioural differences between mobile phone customers with prepaid and postpaid subscriptions. A combination of the SERVPERF model has been adopted as the main framework for analyzing service quality. A structured questionnaire instrument was designed for data collection. The present study concentrates on the level of customers’ satisfaction for leading service providers in the UAE mobile industry. Etisalat and Du were chosen for this study. A sample of (452) mobile phone users in Abu Dhabi city was selected at random using convenience-sampling. We found a positive effect of both functional and technical service quality (network quality) on customers’ satisfaction. Functional and technical dimensions were good predictors of customer satisfaction and confirmed the multidimensional nature of service quality. Also, the service quality dimensions; reliability, assurances, and responsiveness are found to be significant predictors of customer satisfaction. Behavioural difference between mobile phone customers is also significant in predicting customer satisfaction for postpaid subscribers. However, only reliability and network quality are significant predictors of customer satisfaction for prepaid subscribers. The model developed in this study provides marketers and researchers with a diagnostic tool to assess service quality from the perspectives of customers to meet the customer’s expectations and ensure customer satisfaction.

System Review: A Text Analysis on Supply Chain Finance

Supply chain finance (SCF) is dynamic approach in banks’ proprietary platform and is becoming more flexible and transparent through ingenious technological solutions of effectively integrating the flows of logistics and capital into the financial service provider industry. The paper aims to utilize the TF-IDF technique in order to make greater contributions to future SCF researches and discusses different scopes of SCF and their relation to roll out SCF solutions. In efforts to demonstrate the importance role that frequency-inverse document frequency (TF-IDF) plays in retrieving information using various keywords within various document (otherwise known as text mining), this study will attempt to showcase the research findings from more than 250 academic database which focuses on supply chain finance between seller and buyer. In presenting the two leading components that impact the analysis of text mining, namely the mechanism and technological innovation of SCF. Through systematic review of the SCF is concerned with financial liquidity and the viability of SCF, this research will analyze the keyword frequencies and assess the significance of terms (or words) within this document collection separately. Finally, this report explores possible solutions for future research based on the current framework and data analysis in order to achieve capital gain, sustainability and viable replenishments.

The Evolving Landscape: Funerals, Cemeteries, Memorialization, and Bereavement Support.

The aim of this study was to provide a better understanding of current memorialization practices and their influence on grief due to bereavement and to explore ways of improving bereavement outcomes. The qualitative research design incorporated two phases, a scoping literature review, followed by in-depth interviews with eight service providers from the funeral, cemetery, and crematorium industries across Australia. The trend toward informal memorialization practices blurs the roles of community members and formal industry service providers. A public health approach to bereavement support that encompasses both groups is recommended as the most appropriate response to the evolving landscape. This approach focuses on building partnerships between industry service providers and other community organizations involved in end-of-life issues. We propose that reframing the role of formal industry service providers as educators and facilitators partnered within compassionate communities will support improved outcomes for the bereaved.

Stewardship and Collective Action: The Australian Experience

Institutional shareholder stewardship codes (‘stewardship codes’) exist in many jurisdictions. They reflect the growing importance of institutional shareholders in capital markets, and a belief that increased engagement by institutional shareholders improves corporate decision-making and provides protection against excessive risk-taking. In theory, there is considerable sense in shareholders undertaking their stewardship activities collectively. By acting collectively, shareholders leverage their power, pool their resources and share costs, thereby making stewardship more feasible and less speculative. Consistently, the stewardship codes of many jurisdictions refer to, and implicitly support, collective action by institutional investors. This paper examines the role of collective action as a form of stewardship, with particular reference to the Australian context. Australia provides favourable conditions for institutional investor stewardship and is, therefore, an interesting case study concerning the potential of collective action as a stewardship tool. This paper’s examination of collective action in Australia reveals, however, a nuanced image of this governance practice. Evidence indicates that investors do not routinely engage in direct forms of collective action, such as forming a coalition for the purpose of intervening in a company’s governance. Instead, investors more typically leverage their collective influence through intermediary organisations, such as industry bodies and service providers that undertake behind-the-scenes engagement activities for investors. The nuanced image of collective action emerging from the Australian experience highlights that collective action by institutional shareholders is by no means a simple governance phenomenon. The paper explores the implications of this insight for how securities and takeover laws apply to collective action, and how the issuers of stewardship codes frame their codes’ expectations regarding collective action. This analysis is relevant to policy makers, regulators and researchers who are interested in the role and regulation of collective action as a corporate governance tool.

Human resource scalability and the solutions to upgrading it in the ISP industry of Iran

In today's competitive markets, resources giving a competitive advantage to organisations have turned into a source of concern. Studies show that human resource scalability is a new concept that has the potential to provide an invaluable competitive advantage to organisations. The main aim of this applied research was to identify and prioritise the evaluation indicators of human resource scalability and the solutions to upgrading it within the internet service provider (ISP) industry of Iran. The sample population of the study included 22 people selected from among the ISP industry human resource managers, consultors and experts. Two researchers-made questionnaires used in this descriptive-survey study as data collection tools. Also, fuzzy Delphi method and ANP technique used for data analysis. Findings showed that 'being creative' was the most important evaluation indicator of human resource scalability and 'designing a flexible job' was the best solution to upgrading it in the internet service provider industry of Iran.

Interference Mitigation Among Indoor Phone Subscribers In Lte Based Heterogeneous Networks Using Fast Response Frequency Reuse Technique

Mobile phone users both for voice and data have increased tremendously in the last decade thereby making it necessary for service providers in the telecommunication industry maintain quality of service as much as possible. The huge complaint from indoor mobile users concerning signal coverage and capacity has made it a necessity to conduct this research. The aim of this research is to minimize interference among indoor phone subscribers in long term evolution (LTE) based heterogeneous networks using fast frequency reuse technique. Femtocells are deployed in varying number within the macrocell coverage area. For communication between femto and macro users within the network, a fast frequency response technique was proposed and parameters such as path loss, SINR and channel capacities were determined to ascertain the level of performance of the system when compared with a situation with random and unplanned deployment. Results show that a high SINR results when the bit error rate is low, this consequently improves communication and throughput in the network. The high values of throughputs for edge macro-femto users compared to inner edge-macro users are due to distance of macro and femto users from the macrocell. As femtocells increase for edge macro-femto users within the coverage area, throughputs reduced gradually

Business Value Assessment for Global Service Provider Industry: Opportunities and Solution

The problem of estimating the business value of the information system lies in heart of business process and function, which are the organization architecture that it is a very complex work to be dealt with. Therefore, there are a large number of aspects such as the trend, regulation, etc. that need to be evaluated to get the appropriate results, although in order to reduce investment and operation costs, these aspects cannot be neglected to avoid the result contain high degree of uncertainty. This paper presents results in assessing the business value of IT projects in global service provider industries, with the objective to support and provide more reliable and high quality information on potential futures contracts with relatively low investigation costs. This method contains four architectural frameworks consisting of business, data, applications and technology architecture.

Service Quality and Customer Satisfaction in Pharmaceutical Logistics: An Analysis Based on Kano Model and Importance-Satisfaction Model.

The implementation of National Health Insurance in Taiwan has affected the medical industry by significantly depleting the supply chain’s profits. Service providers in the medical industry must meet the dual-service expectation of serving as medical manufacturers with upper reaches and as suppliers in the downstream marketing channel. As a result, service providers must anticipate customer requirements, offer new service items that align with customer demands and improve the quality of existing services. This study aims to examine consumer perspectives about service satisfaction in the domestic medical industry using Kano’s two-dimensional model. In addition, it employs the importance-satisfaction model to determine service items that need improvement. The empirical findings show that consumer perceptions about service quality attributes vary and thus, service items may be categorized differently in Kano’s model. Further, the reliability of service quality significantly affects customer satisfaction. Thus, service providers can gain a competitive edge and maintain their market position by offering high value added and critical quality attributes. Finally, analyzing customer attitudes toward new service items for indifference quality will help service providers determine effective tactics in a competitive market. In general, service providers should assign higher priority to items that customers consider in need of improvement.

The impact of CSR-linked sport sponsorship on consumers’ reactions to service failures

PurposeDrawing on the corporate association framework and attribution theory, the purpose of this paper is twofold: first, to examine the shield effects of CSR-linked sport sponsorship on consumer attitudes toward a sponsor, attribution patterns in a sponsor’s service failure and repurchase intentions and second, to investigate the halo effect of CSR-linked sport sponsorship on corporate ability (CA) associations and the relationship between CA associations and consequential variables in the context of service failure.Design/methodology/approachA scenario-based two-factor (sponsorship types: baseline vs sport sponsorship vs CSR-linked sport sponsorship × service failure types: flight delay vs cancellation) experimental design was employed.FindingsThe results indicate that CSR-linked sport sponsorship outperforms non-CSR sport sponsorship in forming CSR association and developing CA association. Both CSR and CA associations are found to positively influence the consumer’s attitude toward a service provider. Consumers with positive attitudes attribute the sponsor’s service failure to external factors, leading to repurchase intention after a service failure.Originality/valueThis study connects two fields of research, service failure and sport sponsorship, thereby providing evidence on how CSR-linked sport sponsorship can play a shield role in the context of service failure and whether CSR-linked sport sponsorship can be a proactive strategy for service providers in industries where service failures are inevitable. Additionally, this study provides empirical evidence on whether CSR-linked sponsorship can lead consumers to perceive service quality as “doing right leads to doing well” by creating a halo effect.

Kepuasan Pelanggan Pada Industri Penyedia Layanan Mobile Internet Di Jakarta

The rapid advances in technology, especially in the mobile sector, make communication and access to information very easy. These things make the internet as one of the main needs of modern humans. Companies that move as internet service providers must be able to find out what factors influence customer satisfaction to increase sales and attract the services offered. This study aims to analyze what factors influence consumers in the mobile internet service provider industry in Jakarta. These factors include price suitability, network quality, and service quality. The data used in this study is primary data, which is the result of 150 respondents in Jakarta. This research took place from March 2018 to May 2018. The data analysis method used in this study was descriptive analysis method and multiple linear regression analysis. The results of the study show that these three variables have significant variables on the level of customer satisfaction. Where dimensions that have the most dominant influence are dimensions of network quality, then followed by quality dimensions.

Synergistic effects of market orientation implementation and internalization on firm performance: Direct marketing service provider industry

We draw on recent advances in Market Orientation domain to examine the synergistic effects of market orientation implementation and internalization on firm performance in the context of digital transformation within direct mail service provider industry. We introduce market orientation internalization as a mediator between market orientation implementation and firm performance relationship. In addition, the effect of learning orientation is considered as a moderator that strengthens the relationship between market orientation implementation and market orientation internalization. The research model is empirically tested using Hayes (2013) conditional process analysis utilizing a unique dataset from an industry that is undergoing an unprecedented digital transformation from physical to digital communication. The results suggest that firms that practice high levels of market orientation implementation and internalization perform better in both financial performance and customer service performance.

Analyzing dynamic capability in teamwork

PurposeThis study aims to analyze the relationship between the intrinsic characteristics of the teams that perform specialized industrial services in multi-units and dynamic capability.Design/methodology/approachThis study was developed from a survey conducted in 188 multi-unit industrial service providers and data were analyzed using the structural equation modeling technique of partial least squares.FindingsThe results indicate the two constructs act differently on dynamic capability. While the infrastructural construct influences the capability of knowledge absorption, generation and adaptation, the construct related to the willingness to share and integrate knowledge has a positive impact on the capability of knowledge generation and storage.Research limitations/implicationsThis research is limited by the choice of only one industrial sector – in the case of this study, the service industry. Future studies will include other industries and a more diverse sample of firms.Originality/valueThis research analyzes the process of dynamic capability development in the context of multi-unit service provision. The context of multi-unit industrial service provision is peculiar when compared to other organizations. In the context, knowledge is absorbed, generated and adapted by individuals organized into teams that work in customer’s units. Service providers play a key role in the development of dynamic capabilities regarding knowledge storage, acting as knowledge repositories.

Business models of Internet service providers

A business model can be perceived as a simple, yet focused, representation of the related activities of a company, which describes how to create the value of the company in terms of information, products and services. Given the significance of the Internet service infrastructure in new Internet-based business logic, notably the positive relationship between the growth of the Internet service infrastructure and GDP growth, this paper elaborates on the business model of the Internet service providers (ISPs). Accordingly, the ISPs’ business model, in the scope of connectivity service providers, based on the selected meta model (Hedman and Kalling’s ontology) at the industry level is analyzed. For validation and generalization assessment, the business components of two ISPs at the instance level and the business components of other service providers in the telecom industry (beyond the scope of this research) are compared, point by point, with the proposed business model components, respectively. The results of this study will raise the awareness of ISPs’ executives and new entrants of different aspects of this business. The proposed business model can be considered as a basic model in the area of designing new business models, especially in the area of new Internet-based technologies.
