Implementation of Strategic Planning in Vocational High Schools to Address the Challenges of the Industrial Revolution 4.0

<p dir="ltr"><span>Abstract:</span><span>This study examines the implementation of strategic planning in Vocational High Schools (VHS). In facing the challenges of Industrial Revolution 4.0 the research focuses on 11 principals. Additionally, 22 teachers from VHSs in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (In Bahasa: Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta/DIY) are involved. Utilizing quantitative methodology, results reveal intriguing patterns. School principals develop strategic plans and actively involve teachers. There is participation from parents and industry stakeholders. A significant emphasis is placed on the use of technology to enhance effectiveness. The efficiency of VHS management is also improved. Evidence shows the integration of digital technologies. Online learning platforms are noted in the schools' operations and educational processes. The study highlights the critical role of collaborative and tech-driven approaches. This prepares vocational schools to meet the demands of the evolving industrial landscape.</span></p><div><span><br /></span></div>

Optimization of Transformative Leadership to Enhance Organizational Performance: Policing Strategic Analysis at Industrial Revolution 4.0 Era to Maintain Security and Public Order

Abstract The Bojonegoro Resort Police, a middle manager in the Indonesian National Police, proactively adapts to the Fourth Industrial Revolution's challenges, marked by VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity). They prioritize staying informed about developments and taking initiative. Strategies for security and public order maintenance, including crime prevention and increased surveillance, are effectively planned and implemented. Qualitative field research explores how transformative leadership optimizes policing and performance. Findings reveal: 1) Leaders model idealized influence and inspire a shared vision; 2) They provide inspirational motivation; 3) Leaders foster intellectual stimulation by promoting skill development and critical thinking; 4) Individualized consideration is shown through active delegation and control measures. In conclusion, the Bojonegoro Resort Police's proactive, transformative leadership helps them navigate the Fourth Industrial Revolution's challenges, enhancing organizational performance in maintaining security and public order.

QUIZZZ MEDIA AS AN ASSESSMENT FOR HISTORY LEARNING IN THE DIGITAL ERA

Current history learning, in general, still uses a conventional approach with students learning in class through lectures, questions and answers, and assignments. Traditional history learning results in students only working procedurally and understanding history without reasoning, which tends towards behavioral and structuralist psychology and places more emphasis on memorization and practice. This approach uses a qualitative approach with descriptive data. In discussing the problem in this article, the author uses a type of library research. Teachers can take advantage of advances in information technology by using learning media. Quizizz is one of the media innovations in history learning assessment activities. Digital media as a learning assessment has experienced significant development. Digital media offers various educational innovations that replace rigid and monotonous conventional learning and assessment, which will be replaced with learning that is considered more practical, flexible, and not limited by space and time using digital media. Quizizz can be a good and fun assessment of history learning while maintaining the essence of ongoing learning. This assessment can involve active student participation from the start. Apart from that, the demands in the era of Industrial Revolution 4.0 have changed various sectors of life, including the education sector, which needs to be reoriented to determine the direction of education policy to answer the challenges of Industrial Revolution 4.0.

Silibus Kursus Mustalah Al-Hadis: Kajian Perbandingan Terhadap Penerimaan Pelajar Di Institut Pengajian Tinggi (IPT) Islam

Mustalah al-Hadis is one of the courses in the Core component of Islamic Studies program offered at the Public Higher Education Institutions (IPTA) or Private Higher Education Institutions (IPTS) in Malaysia. The exposure of basic sciences of hadith in this course is able to strengthen the understanding of the hadith of Prophet Muhammad SAW, which is significant as the second source of legislation in Islam. In order to ensure that the learning process goes more smoothly in line with the development of the 21st Century Learning (PAK-21) and as a response to the challenges of Industrial Revolution 4.0 in the educational aspect, the Mustalah al-Hadis course is also not left behind in the Malaysia’s flow of education. Therefore, this article aims to examine students’ acceptance of the Mustalah al-Hadith course syllabus offered at Islamic Higher Education Institutions in northern Malaysia, namely Kolej Universiti Islam Perlis (KUIPs), Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Sultan Abdul Halim Mua’dzam Shah (UniSHAMS) and Kolej Islam Teknologi Antarabangsa (KITAB), Pulau Pinang. This qualitative study takes the form of interviews, observations and document analysis involving lecturers and students taking the Mustalah al-Hadis course. The findings of the study can be concluded that the students’ acceptance of the Mustalah al-Hadis course syllabus depends on the educational background and the students’ determination to learn this course as well as the teaching methodology applied by the course lecturer.

GLOBAL COMPETENCE DEVELOPMENT AMONG COMPUTER ENGINEERING AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY UNDERGRADUATES IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE CLASSROOM

Nowadays higher education institutions are directly involved in the training of new personnel, so they should seriously puzzle one of the most obvious questions today, how to prepare students to meet the challenges of Industrial Revolution 4.0 in an increasingly globalised society. And although the unequivocal answer to this question doesn’t exist, one thing is certain: while providing Education 4.0 through incorporating advanced technology into the curriculum for implementing best practices and innovative methodological approaches, methods and techniques, higher education institutions should do their best to shape the next generation of highly employable global citizens who can think and act from a global perspective. In the future students who specialise in the field of Computer Engineering and Information Technology will be at the forefront of advancing the technology available to all people in the world and, therefore, they should be globally competent. It means that they should possess a global competence to successfully compete on a global scale. Significant practical experience gained by the authors of the article made it possible to assume that being one of the humanities which is taught to Computer Engineering and Information Technology undergraduates in Ukrainian higher education institutions, English has a great potential for developing their global competence. Considering the fact that Ukrainian 15-year-old students were not a part of the PISA 2018 Global Competence assessment, the present research was aimed at finding out how the participants understood the concept of “global competence”, their awareness of the importance of global competence development in accordance with the requirements and principles of Education 4.0 associated with the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and participants’ views on the role of the English language in its development. For exactly this purpose the authors made a questionnaire in Google Forms. The research participants were 249 Computer Engineering and Information Technology undergraduates who were selected by means of a purposeful sampling method. The conducted research shows that the didactic uniqueness of the English language as an academic discipline aimed at developing global competence is manifested in the fact that it can be seen as both a learning goal and a learning tool. The results obtained became the basis for devising a paradigm defining strategy (the core strategy) and four sub-strategies effective for developing Computer Engineering and Information Technology undergraduates’ global competence in the English language classroom.

Challenges of industrial revolution 4.0: quantity surveying students' perspectives

PurposeThe industrial revolution 4.0 (IR4.0) signifies technological advancements and digitalization. The fragmented and labour-intensive nature of the construction industry inherently possesses difficulties for IR4.0 adoption compared to other industries. This paper aims to investigate the perspectives of quantity surveying students on the challenges of IR4.0 implementation in the construction industry.Design/methodology/approachA questionnaire survey were distributed to a population of 191 quantity surveying students, with 96 valid responses returned. Descriptive statistics and factor analysis were employed to analyse the collected data.FindingsFactor analysis revealed eight components as the key challenges for IR4.0 implementation, which revolved around resistance to change, data security issues, etc.Practical implicationsThe findings could provide a guideline to higher education institutions on certain IR4.0-related areas to be incorporated into the syllabus, in ensuring that the students are equipped with such skills and knowledge, in meeting market demands. The construction stakeholders' could look into the identified challenges for strategizing the organizations in moving towards IR4.0 adoption.Originality/valueTo the best of the authors’ knowledge, this is the first study to investigate quantity surveying students' perspectives on the challenges of IR4.0 implementation in the construction industry by employing factor analysis method. The findings contribute to the body of knowledge in relation to the opinions of a younger generation who has more exposure towards technology on the hindrance of IR4.0 adoption.

The Challenges of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 in Islamic Social Entrepreneurship in the Covid-19 Era

Islamic social entrepreneurship (ISE) is an activity that can help the economy of the ummah in a country. Based on the vision and social mission to address the economic problems caused by the effects of Covid-19, social entrepreneurs need to act creatively and innovatively using the latest technological approaches in line with the development of the Industrial Revolution 4.0. There are three objectives of the study. First it will look at the challenges of the fourth industrial revolution in ISE in the Covid-19 era, secondly it identifies efforts that can be implemented by social entrepreneurs to address the issue of Covid-19; and third it will look at the role of government and institutions involved in helping to restore the economy to normalcy. The research methods used are content analysis of past research texts, theses and library studies. The findings of the study found that there are several challenges identified. Among these are the issues of attitudes, perceptions, legislation, knowledge, skills, costs and assistance. The steps that need to be implemented to resolve these issues are rehabilitation strategies, information provision, consultation, government support, entrepreneurial institutions, welfare and the cooperation of various parties directly or indirectly involved. Therefore, in-depth studies will be elaborated so that the challenges that occur can be overcome

Farmers’ Rationality and Skill Preparedness to Answer the Challenges of Industrial Revolution 4.0 towards Society 5.0: A Case Study in Serang

Industrial revolution 4.0 towards society 5.0 in the agricultural sector creates complex challenges that demand preparedness of farmer human resources that possess certain rationalities compatible to current development and skill preparedness with various cultural adaptation efforts. The study aims to explore the farmers’ rationality and skill preparedness to answer the challenges of industrial revolution 4.0 towards society 5.0. The research was conducted in Serang City. The research results indicate that the application of agriculture 4.0 is still in the preparation stage. Socio-economic-cultural changes foster agripreneurship system amongst farmers and become an initial capital to answer challenges of the agricultural 4.0. Commercialization and modernization of agriculture brought by social changes and development have shifted the farmers’ rationality map from value rationality to means-end rationality following several development stages passed. Farmers’ creativity is still limited due to the lack of competitiveness and knowledge capacity with productivity-improvement orientation, but not yet efficiency-based. The farmers are relatively adaptive and flexible with the existing changes.

DEVELOPMENT OF PHYSICS MODULE USING MOODLE INTEGRATED LAB ROTATION IN SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL

The use of technology-based learning resources in the teaching and learning process provides benefits in increasing student independence and literacy. It can be an answer to the challenges of industrial revolution 4.0. However, realizing technology-based learning resources is still a challenge, because it is necessary to have the right learning model to achieve the desired results. Therefore, this research developed a moodle-based physics module using a rotation lab model using the ADDIE research method to answer the demands of the industrial revolution 4.0. This study aims to determine the validity and practicality of the moodle-based physics module using a rotation lab model. The moodle-based physics module using the rotation lab is in the very valid category, scoring 87. Meanwhile, in the practical aspect of the moodle-based physics module using the rotation lab model, it scored 91, which is in the efficient category.

The Challenges of Industrial Revolution 4.0: The Role of Leadership of Kyai in Islamic Boarding Schools

This research is motivated by the industrial revolution 4.0, which affects various fields, one of which is education. Education in Islamic boarding schools that learns about knowledge and religious skills is one of ones affected by the industrial revolution 4.0. A leader, namely Kyai, who manages a boarding school, will lead to organizational development accompanied by a transformational leadership style. This research is a conceptual study that aims to increase references and produce a proposition on Kyai's transformational leadership research in Islamic boarding schools. Based on the previous literature, it can be concluded that transformational leadership affects infrastructure support in education. In addition, transformational leadership can create a comfortable organizational environment. Transformational leadership maintains cultural and religious values in Islamic boarding schools and transformational leadership styles lead to an increase in students' character education. This research can be used as a study to deepen further research. Corruption and Corporate Governance in Namibia: An Analysis of the Strategic Approaches in the 4TH Industrial Revolution

The advent of new technology and the 4th industrial revolution has introduced new facets of corporate crimes and regulatory challenges for the enforcement of anti-corruption laws. Acknowledging the negative effects of corruption on the private sector, corporate governance mechanisms may help reduce corruption in the private sector by ensuring that corporations are managed in the best interest of the corporation and the shareholders or investors. This article aims to evaluate the adequacy of the regulatory measures intended to promote good corporate governance in Namibia thereby cushioning the Namibian financial market from the negative effects of corporate corruption. It provides an exposition of the concepts corporate corruption and corporate governance by considering the relationship between the two. It further provides an analysis of the Namibian corporate governance regime and the anti-corruption legislative framework. It is submitted that if Namibia is to realise the financial market objectives set out in its policy documents, there is a need for the introduction of robust strategic approaches in corporate governance directed at curbing and/or reducing corporate corruption responsive to the 4th industrial revolution challenges, amongst others.

Managing creativity and innovation in the 4th industrial revolution: Learning from giants

This article highlights an idea of the importance of creativity and innovation in the face of a change that will inevitably occur in global competition, where technological sophistication is the main prerequisite to lead. The research relies on secondary data primarily from books, journals, published reports, online news, and others. This study observes business giants like Google as the best example of maximizing creativity and innovation in global competition and kitabisa.com as Indonesia's local social entrepreneurship pioneer. Then Nokia and Yahoo are examples of failure to implement creativity and innovation. From many theories, there are four theories to draw the relationship among creativity, innovation, and technology, namely: technology S-curve, punctuated equilibrium, dominant design, and absorptive capacity. However, many theories of creativity and innovation developed by scientists have their advantages and disadvantages. This study is expected to provide new insight for individuals, groups, practitioners, or stakeholders to overcome industrial revolution challenges.

Innovation, upgrading, and governance in cross-sectoral global value chains: the case of smartphones

Abstract The fourth industrial revolution challenges the existing understanding of innovation and upgrading in the global economy. It blurs traditional sectoral boundaries based on distinctive products and technologies and calls into question a traditional global value chain (GVC) perspective, which, similar to the sectoral systems of innovation approach, examines innovation and upgrading from a sector-based orientation. Building upon the recent reformulation and extension of GVC governance theory, this article proposes the notion of cross-sectoral GVC governance to capture the new stage of platform-based industrial development. It specifies the conceptual dimensions of cross-sectoral GVC governance in terms of the mode of governance (i.e., driving, linking, and normalizing), the overall GVC structure in terms of polarity, and firm strategies of managing GVCs. The proposed framework is illustrated using the case of smartphones as a platform product, focusing on four lead firms—Samsung, Apple, Huawei, and Google—to showcase divergent firm strategies for governing cross-sectoral linkages related to innovation and upgrading.

Increasing the Role of Work Discipline and Job Trainings on Employee Performance

Management is the science and art of regulating the process of utilizing human resources and other sources effectively and efficiently to achieve a specific goal. PD CBJ must review the increasing role of Work Discipline and Training to achieve employee performance. This study was conducted empirically and is one of the company's essential internal components to improve its general performance by facing the challenges of industrial revolution 4.0. This study applies quantitative research methods. The data collection utilizes the form of using a survey method with a questionnaire device. This study's target population was 64 (sixty-four) employees at PD CBJ as same as obtaining the saturated sample. The verification analysis takes the inferential statistics to prove the hypothesis using the multiple regression analysis techniques. This yield gives empirical evidence to show that Work Discipline plays a role in improving Employee Performance at PD CBJ. In contrast, Training does not play a role in enhancing Employee Performance at PD CBJ. As a result, Work Discipline and Training have a high position in increasing Employee Performance at PD CBJ, with a 71.3 percent determination score.

Network Performance and Management-Complexity Evaluation of Software-Defined Access Network in Multi-Tenancy Scenario

Industrial revolution has transformed social life. Because of the digital disruption, companies reorganize and change their business model to face the challenges of industrial revolution 4.0. The multi-tenant architecture separates each tenant logically while they are physically integrated. This model has a problem in the management of network devices. The difficulty of changing and rigidity of the underlying infrastructure presents few possibilities for innovation or improvement since network devices have generally been vendor locked. A Software-Defined Access Network (SDAN) is a software-defined network that is implemented on an access network. SDAN aims to simplify complicated access management and improve service provision. This paper aims to analyze and evaluate SDAN design performance and complexity management of network devices. Evaluation is carried out by conducting a comparative survey between SDAN and non-SDAN in terms of performance and use case scenarios. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the SDAN has 10%-20% better performance in terms of elapsed times and throughput. It also significantly reduces time for managing network devices ten times faster than non-SDAN.

The purpose of this research is to examine how the competence of millennial Islamic education teachers in facing challenges in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0. The method used in this research is library research, in which the writer bases on data sources or references in the form of text from the opinions of experts that have been formulated in the form of books, journals, and others. The results of research conducted by researchers through several references state that the competence of millennial Islamic education teachers in facing challenges in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 is a character, performance, and literacy. The recommendations for further researchers are expected to study more broadly about the competence of millennial Islamic education teachers in facing the challenges of the industrial revolution 4.0

The growing number of coffee agro-industries, the increase of consumers’ interest in coffee, and the challenges of industrial revolution 4.0, are driving demand for improving coffee agro-industry business. It encourages entrepreneurs to develop their entreprenuerial skills. This study aims to analyze the entrepreneurial spirit of the coffee agro-industry’s entrepreneur in Bukittinggi city in encountering industrial revolution 4.0. Bukittingi was selected as the study area due to leading tourist destinations in West Sumatera and its coffee agro-industry known as "Rang Bukik Apik". This research used survey method. Thirty coffee agro-industry entreprenuers were selected by simple random sampling technique. The research found that of 15 indicators assessed, the average of all indicator’s summary is 82.49%. Coffee agro-industry actor in Bukittinggi are people who are willing to take all risks, always think about goals, confident, like a challenges, like to take full outhority over themselves, optimistic, happy to immerse themselves into a work, statisfied with their product, have a high standar for the quality of work, considers of that personal and professional development is more important than senses of calm, money and prestige, likes to work hard and can combine the power of reason and intusion. To conclude, coffee agro-industry’s entrepreneurs are characterized by their high entrepreneurial spirit and capability to develop their business through product innovation and manufacturing of value-added products. At the same time, these charactiristics would be able to support entrepreneurs in facing industrial revolution era 4.0 challenges.
