Amid federal lawsuit, groups cite opposing views of MHPAEA final rule

Pointing to major concerns regarding the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act (MHPAEA) final rule issued Sept. 9, 2024, the ERISA Industry Committee (ERIC) on Jan. 17 filed a lawsuit against federal agencies alleging that the new regulations violate due process, and are arbitrary and capricious. ERIC alleges that the final parity rules “overstep” existing parity law.

Analysis of Factors Affecting Fatigue Level in Online Motorcycle Taxi Drivers in Denpasar City

Ojek online is an online-based transportation that is currently popular. Along with the rise of this drivers, it causes an increase in the number of accidents that occur. Factors that cause fatigue consist of age, gender, workload, length of service, and duration of work. Fatigue is the most workload experienced by online motorcycle taxi drivers in Denpasar. The purpose of this research is to determine the factors that affect job fatigue in online motorcycle taxi drivers, such as age, gender, smoking habits, length of work, duration of work, and body mass index. This study is an observational study with a cross sectional design and used the Industrial Fatigue Research Committee questionnaire. The subjects of this study were online motorcycle taxi drivers in Bali, especially in Denpasar City, totaling 106 people selected based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria using purposive sampling technique. The majority of this subjects are male (51,2%), duration of work of >8 hours (69,1%), work for >2 years (61,5%), aged 37 years (66,1%), and obese (100%) experiencing job fatigue. The results of the analysis obtained smoking factors, work duration, length of work, age, and body mass index affect work fatigue in online motorcycle taxi drivers.

The Industrial Committee of the Medical Society of Kraków (1886–1907) was established to protect and support the Polish medical industry. In the absence of the official Polish state existed, the activities of the committee provided support for Polish manufacturers and health resorts. The main activity of the committee members consisted in assessing production technology and analysis of the chemical composition of food products, and additional clinical trials of medications. In the case of health resorts, evaluation extended to their infrastructure, technical solutions for spa treatments, and curative properties of the waters and climate. Positively evaluated products and spas received a particular certificate and were officially recommended by the society. As many members of the committee were scientists of world renown who belonged to the social elite, using the products they recommended became fashionable and offered a realistic advantage against foreign competition.

Work fatigue is still a problem in the world of work. This is shown by the data in which work fatigue is a factor that contributesas much as 50% or more to the occurrence of work accidents. The work schedule plays an important role in a person's sleepdisorders, physical and psychological disorders as well as social and family disorders. Objective to examine the correlationbetween nurses scheduling and work fatique in inpatient room during a pandemic (COVID-19). Method This study used ananalytical survey design by using the retrospective approach. The sampling technique in this study was probability samplingby using simple random sampling. Instruments were the form of a questionnaire of evaluation of nursing service schedulingin inpatient rooms and IFRC (Industrial Fatigue Research Committee). The number of respondents was 73 nurses. Thestatistical test used was the Somers'd test to determine the correlation between variables of work scheduling and work fatigueof inpatient nurses. Results out of 73 respondents, the majority of nurses experienced work fatigue in the moderate category,namely 37 nurses and nurses experienced fatigue in the high category as many as 30 nurses with good work scheduling. Inthe Somers'd test, the value (p = 0.009) or H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted, which means that there was a significantcorrelation between the two variables. Conclusion the work scheduler in the fairly good category has moderate and high workfatigue, while the very good work schedule has a moderate level of work fatigue, which tends to be low so that there is acorrelation between work scheduling and the work fatigue of inpatient nurses. Hospital is expected to apply work schedulingcharacteristics in arranging schedules in which one of the goals is to reduce the level of work fatigue of nurses who work inthe inpatient room of the Unisma Islamic Hospital Malang. Nurses are expected to reduce special requests for exchangingwork schedules with other nurses.

Determinants of Work Fatigue in Inpatient Nurses at RSI Siti Hajar Sidoarjo

Introduction: Nurses are an important part of patient care so they are often required to provide optimal service which sometimes causes fatigue. With different individual characteristics of each worker such as age and physical condition of workers and job characteristics such as length of service and duration of work, it is possible to experience fatigue at different levels of fatigue. Objective: To determine the relationship between age, work period, and work shifts with work fatigue in inpatient nurses at RSI Siti Hajar Sidoarjo and identify the relationship between age with work fatigue, work period with work fatigue, work shifts with work fatigue in inpatient nurses at RSI Siti Hajar Sidoarjo. Method: This type of research is quantitative with random sampling technique. Data collectin was carried out with IFRC (Industrial Fatigue Research Committee) questionnaire instrument on 125 inpatient nurses at RSI Siti Hajar Sidoarjo. The bivariate analysis process is carried out by testing the data with the SPSS program using the Spearman Rank Correlation test. Result: The majority of inpatient nurses who have the potential to work fatigue are ?35 years old, had worked for ?5 years, working on the morning shift, experienced low fatigue and the majority of nurses felt thirsty, wanted to lay down after work, often yawned, sleepy, and tired all over. Based on the hypothesis test, between age and fatigue was obtained sig. 0.002 < 0.05, between tenure and fatigue obtained sig. 0.001 < 0.05, and between work shifts and work fatigue obtained sig. 0.032 < 0.05. Conclusion: There is a relationship between age, length of service, work shifts with work fatigue in inpatient nurses at RSI Siti Hajar Sidoarjo.

Fatigue is a common complaint in the wider community and the working population. Work-related fatigue is a situation where workers experience a decrease in work productivity. This study aims to determine the effect of nutritional status on work fatigue. This type of research is observational analysis with a cross-sectional study design, which is carried out on employees of the production department of PT. Maruki International Indonesia. The research population amounted to 197 people, and 130 people were selected as a sample through the proportional sampling method. Nutritional status data collection is carried out by measuring Body Mass Index (BMI). Work fatigue data was obtained through interviews using a Subjective self-rating test questionnaire from the Industrial Fatigue Research Committee (IFRC). Data analysis was carried out using a linear regression test with SPSS. Based on the results of the study, a p-value of 0.043 (p<0.05) was obtained, so nutritional status had a significant influence on fatigue in employees of the production department of PT. Maruki International Indonesia. So it can be concluded that work fatigue can be influenced by the nutritional status of workers in the Production section of PT. Maruki International Indonesia.

CORRELATIONS OF SHIFT WORK 2-2-2(2) ROTATION ON SLEEP QUALITY AND FATIGUE OF NURSES IBNU SINA GRESIK GENERAL HOSPITAL

Background: Working as a nurse in a hospital required to work with a shift system. Working with the shift system (morning, afternoon, and night) can affect the circadian rhythm, which has the potential to cause sleep disturbances and fatigue. Purpose: This research aims to analyze the influence of shift work rotation 2-2-2(2) on sleep quality and fatigue in nurses with shift work systems in inpatient rooms at General Hospital Ibnu Sina Gresik. Method: This research was an observational analytics study with a cross-sectional design. The total sample was 80 nurses in an inpatient care unit with a shift work system chosen through purposive sampling techniques. The Subjective Self-Rating Test (SSRT) issued by the Industrial Fatigue Research Committee (IFRC) questionnaire was used for the measurement of fatigue, and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index questionnaire (PSQI) was used for the assessment of sleep quality. Univariate and bivariate analyses were done with a Chi-square statistical test. Result: The study showed that most respondents had good sleep quality (87.5%), and most had low tiredness (71.2%). The Chi-square test results obtained a p-value of 0.224 > 0.05 and a p-value of 0.108 > 0.05, meaning there were no correlations between shift work and sleep quality and fatigue. Conclusion: Shift work had no relationship with sleep quality and fatigue. Appropriate shift work arrangements can contribute to reducing the negative impact of shift work.

The role of sociologists and scholars of related disciplines is important from the viewpoint of designing the future of media archives. In a world where unequal online reputation management brings forward the issue of digital and social inequalities, the role of social researchers in designing policies and best practices, and standards of contextualising archival content, may be crucial. They could mediate between the interests of publishers, audiences and regulators in regard to social values and the progress of civilisation.

Prolonged standing and work fatigue on sales promotion girl workers at the Kubu Raya Regency Shopping Center

Standing positions are used for almost all jobs, including sales promotion girl or SPG workers. Standing in working positions for long periods can cause work fatigue. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between the length of work in a standing position and the work fatigue of SPG workers. This research is a cross-sectional study. Fatigue data collection was carried out by interviews using the industrial fatigue research committee (IFRC) questionnaire. Data on the length of work in a standing position are obtained by interview and observation. Based on the results of the study, as many as 66.7% of workers at SPG in the shopping center of Kubu Raya Regency, Indonesia in one day work in a standing position for eight hours, and 33.3% work in a standing position for >8 hours. The average level of work fatigue at the beginning of work is 49.38, and after work is 52.95, with the results of statistical analysis showing a p-value of 0.000, meaning that there is a significant relationship between long-standing position and work fatigue. There is a need for supervision and monitoring related to the work safety system regularly carried out by the manager of the shopping center, which is also supervised by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Manpower.

Defense sector of the Republic of Belarus' economy: Development stages, regulation, and the national security ensuring

Subject. This article discusses the management system of the defense sector of the economy of the Republic of Belarus and the development of enterprises producing weapons and military equipment. Objectives. The article aims to analyze political and economic measures to enhance the economic security of the Republic of Belarus. Methods. For the study, I used the general scientific research methods. Results. The article finds that the establishment of the State Military and Industrial Committee in 2003 contributed to the strengthening of the technological potential of defense enterprises of the Republic of Belarus. Conclusions. The practices of the Republic of Belarus in the field of development of the defense industry are of interest from the point of view of developing programmes to support strategically important sectors of the economy.

ANALISIS KELELAHAN KERJA TERHADAP KINERJA KARYAWAN BAGIAN WELDING DI PT MCDERMOTT BATAM

In Employees who perform welding are often exposed to heat sources, including sunlight and heat from welding machines because some employees perform welding outdoors. Cutting iron, heating, grinding, joining, painting and sanding are steps in the welding process that are performed in a work environment exposed to sunlight. Thus, the question of whether fatigue has an impact on employee performance at PT Mcdermott Batam must be answered. A person's fatigue level can be assessed by several methods, including subjectively using the Industrial Fatigue Research Committee (IFRC) questionnaire. The level of fatigue is assessed using this questionnaire. At PT Mcdermott Batam, employee performance is assessed using a questionnaire which is prepared based on employee performance criteria. The objectives of this study are to determine the level of employee fatigue using the IFRC method, to determine the level of employee performance in the welding section and to determine the level of relationship between fatigue and employee performance. This study uses simple linear regression test. The results showed that there is an influence between job fatigue on employee performance.

Beyond the Advanced Therapies Skills Training Network: An Instrumental Case Study of Life Sciences Skills Development for Biomedical Science Graduates in Scotland.

Biomedical sciences graduates are employed in a variety of different settings and form a significant part of the Life Sciences sector workforce in Scotland. Their degrees should equip them with the skills and knowledge to not only enter the workplace, but be adaptable in an environment that will inevitably change over the course of their careers. Industry and student feedback continue to identify perceived skills gaps, necessitating regular government-backed upskilling initiatives together with industry concerns about graduate readiness. For more than a decade, this Scottish Modern University has worked in partnership with industry and Scottish Government agencies to provide upskilling courses and incorporate relevant skills into the biomedical sciences curriculum, from problem solving and reflection to more applied, practical skills. Using the recent Advanced Therapies Skills Training Network collaboration as an instrumental case study this paper describes current best practice which has significantly impacted teaching and workplace training, ensuring biomedical sciences graduates have the knowledge and skills required for employment within the Life Science sector. Limits to the current life science skills model in Scotland are also identified (availability of placements, ad-hoc and inefficient collaborative structures, incompatible provider strategies) and recommendations made to ensure that biomedical sciences degrees continue to be part of a more sustainable, scalable solution to the skills gap. Recommendations include: better industry acknowledgement of accreditation, and more coherent, authentic and strategic collaboration which should improve skills advice and training, through a supported alliance between Industry and University Life Science Skills Committees and the establishment of regional training Centres of Excellence that would provide a focus for pooled resources and a simulated industry experience.

Factors Associated with Work Fatigue among Nurses in South Tangerang City Public Hospital

Work fatigue is a pervasive issue that affects nursing care quality and patient safety in healthcare settings. This study examined the prevalence of work fatigue among nurses and its association with various factors, including age, body mass index (BMI), work tenure, and work shift. This study employed a cross-sectional quantitative approach and was conducted at the South Tangerang City Public Hospital from February to March 2023. A total of 85 nurses participated in this study. The Industrial Fatigue Research Committee (IFRC) instrument was used to measure work fatigue, encompassing general, mental, and physical domains. Workload-related symptoms were assessed using Likert scale-based responses, classifying the respondents into fatigue and non-fatigue groups. The results indicated that 55.3% of the nurses reported experiencing work fatigue. Significant associations were observed between work fatigue and several other factors. Older nurses demonstrated a lower prevalence of work fatigue (PR:0.579; 95% CI: 0.415–0.808), suggesting that age is a protective factor against fatigue. Conversely, nurses with non-normal BMI exhibited a higher prevalence of work fatigue (PR: 1.587; 95% CI: 1.100–2.291). A longer work tenure was associated with increased work fatigue (PR: 1.851, 95% CI: 1.298–2.639), possibly due to cumulative stress and physical demands. Furthermore, night-shift nurses experienced higher work fatigue (PR: 1.882, 95% CI: 1.302–2.721) than day-shift nurses, indicating the disruptive impact of irregular sleep patterns. These findings emphasize the need for healthcare organizations to address work fatigue among nurses. Strategies may include workload management, providing resources for emotional support, and promoting a healthy work environment. Addressing the specific vulnerabilities of younger nurses, individuals with non-normal BMI, and working night shifts is vital for mitigating work fatigue
