Abstract Sociometry is a promising evaluative technique for determining individual social status and group integration. So far, however, there does not exist a satisfactory constant frame of reference against which data can be compared so that a value judgment may be given. It is the purpose of this paper to present a set of criteria to serve as this constant frame of reference. Five criteria are stated. Data on a test and retest are set up, organized, and analyzed according to the criteria to demonstrate the use of data and application of the criteria.
