Exploring Students' Creative Thinking Skills When Learning Biology Through the Reading Concept Mapping Team Quiz (Remap-TQ)

A supportive learning model can influence the development of creative thinking skills. Remap-TQ is an acronym for a learning model with stages of reading, concept mapping, and Team Quiz (TQ). The steps of the Remap-TQ learning model are expected to train students’ creative thinking skills. The purpose of the study was to determine the contribution of Remap-TQ to students’ creative thinking skills in learning biology. This study was a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group design. Participants involved in this research were science students from one state senior high school in Jember, East Java, Indonesia, who had been tested for equality. Respondents came from three randomly selected classes, totalling 105 students. The indicators of creative thinking measured are curiosity, fluency, originality, elaboration, flexibility, divergence, messines/risk-taking, and others. The results showed that the Remap-TQ model could improve students’ creative thinking more than the TQ model and conventional learning. The posttest mean value of learning with Remap-TQ is 85.89, compared to students taught by TQ of 78.64 and conventional learning of 68.03. The findings of this study can provide new references to educators regarding innovative learning models to develop students’ creative thinking skills in learning biology.

This research was conducted with the aim of describing the creative thinking abilities of Grade VIII junior high school students with the characteristics of fieldindependent cognitive style students in solving math problems on SPLDV material. Theapproach used in this study is a qualitative approach. The subject of this study was classVIII F students of SMP Negeri 36 Semarang for the academic year 2022/2023, with a totalof 1 person, namely students with the FI cognitive style. Subjects were determined bycarrying out the GEFT test to determine students' cognitive styles. The data collectionmethod used in this study used written data from the SPLDV test and interviews. TheSPLDV test is adjusted to indicators of creative thinking, namely fluency, flexibility andnovelty. The data analysis technique used is data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. Data validity checking techniques using source triangulation. The results of this study indicate that students with the FI cognitive style fulfill all indicators of creativethinking, namely fluency, flexibility and novelty.

Analysis of Creative Thinking Skills In Solving Story Problems In Solid Figure

This study aims to describe the creative thinking ability of students in solving story problems of solid figure. The method used is descriptive qualitative. The subjects of this study were 3 students of class VII SMP Negeri 1 Batu Sopang who were selected based on the test results and categorization of high, medium, and low levels of creative thinking. The results indicated that students with a high level of creative thinking ability achieved the fluency, originality, and elaboration indicators very well. While for the flexibility indicator the subject is still classified as good. Students whose level of creative thinking ability is moderate can achieve fluency and originality indicators well while for flexibility and elaboration indicators are still not good. Students whose level of creative thinking ability is low do not achieve all indicators of creative thinking.

Evaluation of Creative Thinking Skills in the Development of Elementary Science Learning in Elementary Schools: A Mix Method Study

Students' creative thinking abilities are still limited in science learning development lectures. Students are only able to answer questions at the concept application level (C1-C3 or lower order thinking skill). This is due to the lack of variety in learning methods, lecture material has not been linked to contextual problems. This research aim is to analyze the creative thinking abilities of elementary teacher education students in elementary science learning development courses. This study uses mixed method. Sampling was carried out using random sampling involving 233 students from 8 different campuses. The research instrument consists of a test that includes 12 questions related to indicators of creative thinking skills (fluency, flexibility, originality, and collaboration), semi-structured interviews with 10 respondents to explore the understanding behind the answers given, and documentation. Data analysis techniques are carried out through quantitative and qualitative data analysis which includes data reduction, data presentation, as well as drawing conclusions and verification. The research results show that of the four indicators of creative thinking, students are categorized as sufficient in the fluency aspect. However, the other three indicators, namely flexibility, originality, and elaboration are in the poor category. The interview results also revealed that the majority of respondents were unable to provide answers that were in accordance with the indicators of creative thinking achievement. The conclusion of this research is that three indicators of creative thinking, namely flexibility, originality and elaboration, need to be improved because they are categorized as lacking.

Interaction of the reflective ethnobiology (REBI) model and creative thinking argumentation in biodiversity material

The ethnoscience-based reflective learning model has been implemented in the classroom while the learning process has its own strengths and weaknesses. The purpose of this study was to determine the interaction between learning models and arguments for creative thinking. A mixed methods research design was applied to collect both qualitative and quantitative data. Quantitative data were collected using argumentation observations and essay tests which were analyzed with SPSS. Qualitative data sourced from one lecturer and 40 students of National Islamic Institute of Kerinci, Jambi Province were collected using interviews and observations. The results shows that there is an interaction between learning models and arguments for creative thinking. This can be seen from the whole learning process students have achieved indicators of creative thinking involving argumentation skills. We discussed this and formulated recommendations that can be implemented in the future.

TINGKAT KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KREATIF SISWA DALAM MENYELESAIKAN SOAL TIPE HIGHER ORDER THINKING SKILL DI TINGKAT SMA

The aim of this research is to describe students' creative thinking abilities in solving Higher Order Thinking Skills type questions at the high school level. The type of research used by researchers is qualitative-descriptive research. The subjects in this research were Class XI students at SMA Wijaya Putra Surabaya. Meanwhile, to determine the object, the researcher used a sampling technique, namely purposive sampling, where the object was taken based on certain considerations. The data analysis technique that researchers will use is the Miles and Huberman model analysis technique. This model analysis technique is carried out interactively and continuously until the data is saturated. The steps that must be taken in this model analysis technique are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results of this research were that there were 25 subjects (90%) who were included in TKBK 0 (Not Creative). There are 3 subjects (10%) included in TKBK 1 (Less Creative). Students included in TKBK 1 are students who only meet one of the three indicators of creative thinking, namely fluency.

Analysis of Students' Creative Thinking Ability in Solving SPLDV Problems Assisted by GeoGebra Software Based on Initial Abilities

This study aims to describe the level of creative thinking ability of students in solving problems on SPLDV material using GeoGebra software based on initial abilities. This research is a descriptive research involving three junior high school students from Sidoarjo. Research instruments in the form of initial ability tests and mathematical creative thinking ability tests using GeoGebra software. Data analysis techniques are carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results show, subjects with high creative thinking skills are able to meet 2 indicators of creative thinking, namely fluency and flexibility so that they are categorized into level 3 indicators of creative thinking (creative). Subjects with the ability to think creatively in the medium category are able to meet 1 indicator of creative thinking, namely novelty so that it is categorized into level 2 indicators of creative thinking (quite creative). Subjects with low creative thinking ability are able to meet 1 indicator of creative thinking, namely fluency so that it is categorized into level 1 indicator of creative thinking (less creative). The possible causes of the results in this study were discussed in order to get a number of recommendations for further research.

Creative thinking skill of junior high school students in solving mathematical pattern problems based on sex

The problem and the aim of the study. Nowadays, in the era of digital technology, the ability to think creatively is one of the abilities that students must have. One of these abilities can be developed through learning mathematics. The problem so far is that students' creative thinking abilities in Indonesia have not shown optimal results. To justify this, it is necessary to study the ability to think creatively by looking at the gender aspect of students. So far, many people believe that gender does not affect a person's thinking ability in solving math problems, even though many studies show that women are more patient, precise, and more structured in their thinking. This study aims to determine creative thinking skills in solving mathematical pattern problems based on sex in grade 8 students of Junior High School. Research methods. This research is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The subjects of this study were 8th-grade junior high school students in Madiun, East Java, Indonesia, which consisted of 2 female students and two male students. The main instrument in this research is the researcher himself. In addition, the instrument is assisted by tests of creative thinking skills and interviews. The indicators of creative thinking in this study are fluency, flexibility, and novelty. Results. The results showed that male subjects were able to fulfill all indicators of creative thinking, namely fluency by answering question number one by providing six alternative answers, flexibility by answering question number two by providing four ways of completion, and novelty by giving answers in new ways or different from other students. Female subjects are only able to meet two indicators of creative thinking, namely fluency by answering question number one by providing three alternative answers and flexibility by answering question number two by describing two ways of solving, and unable to meet the indicator of novelty because it does not provide new or different ways with other students. In conclusion, based on research, it was found that male subjects could fulfill all indicators of creative thinking. In contrast, female subjects could only complete two indicators of creative thinking. This shows that male students have better mathematical creative thinking skills than female students. In addition, this study also indicates that the ability to think creatively mathematically is influenced by the sex of the students.

Pembelajaran Pencemaran Lingkungan Menggunakan Model Discovery Learning berbasis STEAM terhadap Keterampilan Berpikir Kreatif Siswa Kelas X MIPA

Creative thinking skill is the one of high orther thinking skill that needed to create development for education in Indonesia at 21st century. An initial study from one of senior high schools in Ciamis district showed that students' creative thinking skills tended to be low because the model that used for learning was not appropriate. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Discovery Learning model-based STEAM on students' creative thinking skills in the environmental pollution submaterial. This research was conducted using a Quasi Experiment with a Purposive Sampling technique for two classes that were used as subjects and research samples consisting of control and experimental classes. Pretest and posttest which contain indicators of creative thinking are given to students to measure the effect which is tested using prerequisite tests and hypothesis testing. The results of the prerequisite test show that the post-test data are normally distributed and not homogeneous. The hypothesis test gave the result that there was an influence on students' creative thinking skills after using the Discovery Learning model based STEAM in the submaterial of environmental pollution.

Profile of Student’s Creative Thinking Ability in Senior High School on Climate Change Materials

Climate change is a global problem that is happening right now. An increase in the temperature of the earth's surface causes an ecosystem imbalance because it endangers living thing. This study aims to analyze the profile of students' creative thinking abilities at SMAN 3 Jombang on climate change material. The method of research is quantitative descriptive. The sample used in this study was class XI students at SMA Negeri 3 Jombang, totaling 66 students. The instruments used in this study were 4 essay questions which had been validated by three expert lecturers and declared valid. The instrument used includes indicators of creative thinking, namely fluency, flexibility, elaboration, and originality. Based on the results of the analysis of creative thinking abilities, the fluency indicator obtained a percentage of 29%, flexibility of 20%, elaboration of 31%, and originality of 29%. It can be concluded, overall, the percentage of creative thinking ability is 27.46%. This shows that the students' creative thinking abilities at SMA Negeri 3 Jombang are still relatively low, so there is a need for learning that can improve creative thinking abilities.

Analysis of Mathematical Creative Thinking Ability on Junior High School Students in Bandung

This research is motivated by the importance of quadrilateral material in mathematics lessons, especially for students as an educational subject in everyday life, while the aim is to analyze students’ mathematical creative thinking abilities in solving quadrilateral problems. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The population in this study were all seventh-grade junior high school students in the city of Bandung whose sample was randomly selected at Paulus Middle School as many as 32 people. Students can be classified based on their creative thinking abilities based on (1) the Ability creative thinking of students with the high category is fulfilling 3 indicators of creative thinking namely fluency, flexibility, and novelty, so students with the high category is said to be creative. (2) Students' ability to think creatively with the medium category is fulfilling 2 indicators of creative thinking, namely fluency and flexibility, so students in the medium category are said to be not creative. (3) The creative thinking ability of students in the low category is fulfilling 1 indicators of creative thinking are fluency and students in the moderate category said students who are not creative. Data is obtained by testing creative thinking test questions as many as 4 questions that contain indicators. The results showed that there were 2 people with high ability, 4 people with moderate ability, and 26 people with low ability with various errors including conceptual errors, principal errors, and data operation errors. Based on this, it can be concluded that the creative thinking skills of junior high school students are still relatively low.

DEVELOPMENT ANALYSIS OF CREATIVE THINKING TEST INSTRUMENTS ON NATURAL SCIENCE MATERIALS

Creativity is an important part of improving learning achievement and readiness to face the globalization era which requires innovation. The success of learning creativity can be assessed through an appropriate holistic assessment instrument that contains indicators of creative thinking. Based on that, the purpose of this study is to describe the development of creativity assessment instruments that have been carried out by previous researchers through journal literature sources. The research method uses a systematic literature review of 13 selected articles that meet the criteria for achieving the research objectives. From the analysis of the literature review, conclusions are drawn, 1) Creative thinking instruments have been developed through the 4D research model, ADDIE and Borg & Gall with their respective stages, 2) Aspects of creative thinking used in developing tests refer to Torrance's theory (fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration). 3) In the technique of making a creative thinking item that refers to Torrance's theory, these four indicators must simultaneously form the basis for making questions. This means that through one creative thinking question can measuring fluency, flexibility, originality, and detail of the answers given by the test takers, 4) Testing the feasibility of creative thinking instruments includes validity, reliability, practicality, effectiveness, and item analysis (distinguishing power and level of difficulty).

Analisis Kemampuan Berpikir Kreatif dan Koneksi Matematis Siswa pada Materi Segiempat dan Segitiga Ditinjau dari Self-Concept Matematis Siswa

This study aims to describe students creative thinking abilities and mathematical connections in the quadrilateral and triangle material in terms of students mathematical self-concept. This type of research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The subjects of this study consisted of 29 students in class VIII E of SMP NEGERI 1 KALIWUNGU who were then selected based on the self-concept scale, namely 3 students with high self-concept, 3 students with moderate self-concept and 3 students with low self-concept. Data collection was carried out using a self-concept scale, written tests, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques were carried out in 3 stages, namely data reduction, data display and conclusion/verification. The validity of the data using technique triangulation and source triangulation. The analysis was developed based on indicators of creative thinking skills and mathematical connections by taking into account self-concept. Based on the results of the analysis it is known that subjects with high self-concept abilities are able to fulfill all indicators of creative thinking and all indicators of mathematical connection, subjects with moderate self-concept are able to fulfill three aspects of creative thinking ability, namely thinking fluently, thinking flexibly, thinking in detail and being able to fulfill all indicators of connection mathematically, subjects with low self-concept are unable to fulfill all indicators of creative thinking and all indicators of mathematical connection.

KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KREATIF MATEMATIS SISWA DALAM PEMBELAJARAN EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING

This study aims to analyze the influence of experiential learning (EL) model on students' mathematical creative thinking skills at Kartikatama Metro Middle School. EL is one model that focuses on the experience of the learner or student in accordance with what they want to learn by leading to exploration (exploration), discovery (discovery) and creation (invention). This type of research is a quantitative pre-experimental design experiment with one-group pretest-posttest design research design. The research sample consisted of 27 students obtained by purposive sampling technique. Data collection of students' mathematical creative thinking ability is by using test instruments which contain four indicators of creative thinking, namely fluency, flexibility, elaboration, and originality. The test instrument was then tested for reliability and data analysis used was paired t-test. The results showed that students' creative thinking ability using EL model experienced a significant increase between the pretest scores and posttest scores seen from the acquisition of N-gain scores and the average acquisition of each indicator of creative thinking.

Developing a Graphic Design Thinking Model to Enhance the Creative Thinking

In this paper, based on Bloom's Taxonomy and Double Diamond Model, this study explores to development of the Graphic Design Thinking Model, which involves the knowledge dimension and the cognitive dimension, and it will be used to improve creative thinking for solving problems in relevant design courses. To test this hypothesis, the researcher will measure the effectiveness of this model used in the implementation of design projects and compare the improvement of various indicators of creative thinking. The respondents are 30 students from one university in China majoring in art and design, who were asked to take a pre-test, and a post-test according to the GDT Model in the graphic design course. The researcher has referred to the Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking (TTCT) and used a Likert scale to determine the pre-test and post-test scores in the design projects. The results analyzed by SPSS show that the GDT Model can help students to realize the creation of graphics, significantly improving their creative thinking.

Pengembangan Model Soal Berbasis HOTS pada Siswa Kelas V SD Negeri Pakulonan 01 Kota Tangerang Selatan

This study aims to produce reliable and valid topical questions about higher order thinking skills (HOTS) that can measure the creative thinking abilities of fifth grade elementary school students and are able to explore potential impacts that will occur when students are about to work. topical HOTS questions to assess creative thinking skills. In this discussion, the research method to be used is the research and development method. In this development there are two stages of which the first stage is the introduction, the second stage is the evaluation process. And the research subjects used were 19 fifth grade students at SD Negeri Pakulonan 1. There were several data collection techniques in this study, namely tests and interviews. There are 15 HOTS thematic questions in this study to measure students' creative thinking skills including indicators of creative thinking, namely fluent thinking. Based on the results of the study, the test was declared valid because some students were able to think fluently.

ANALISIS BERPIKIR KREATIF SISWA DALAM PEMECAHAN MASALAH PERSAMAAN KUADRAT

This study aims to describe the creative thinking of class IX students of Kusu-Kusu Christian Middle School, Sereh Ambon, in solving quadratic equation problems. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative, carried out at the Kusu-kusu Christian Middle School Sereh Ambon in the odd semester of the 2020/2021 academic year. This study's data sources were grade IX students with a total of 6 subjects, namely two subjects with high, medium, and low abilities. Three subjects were interviewed from the creative thinking test results, namely, 1 with high, medium, and low abilities. Two instruments are used in this study: the main instrument, the researcher, acts as a data collector: a companion instrument, creative thinking test sheets and interview guidelines. Data collection techniques are in the form of tests given to subjects who have studied the quadratic equation material, interviews conducted after the subjects have completed the test questions, and documentation, namely photos and videos, by following the steps of the data collection procedure. Data analysis techniques were carried out using data reduction, namely removing interview snippet data that were not by the research flow, presenting data in the form of narrative texts, and conclusions or verification, namely drawing conclusions based on test and interview results, for objectivity and validity. Data is used with credibility (degree of trust), which involves triangulation of sources. The results showed that high-ability subjects could solve three questions properly and correctly, which met all indicators of creative thinking in solving problems. Moderately capable subjects could only solve two questions and only met several indicators of creative thinking, and low-ability subjects could not complete questions correctly and adequately

Online learning videos to develop creative thinking skills of students

Creative thinking skills are 21st Century Skills which are difficult to improve when online learning is implemented. This study aimed to develop online learning videos to improve students' creative thinking skills. The product development process includes problem analysis, material collection, product design, expert test, limited trial, design revision, usage trial, and product revision. The material and design determine the feasibility of the product. Aspects of material assessment include conformity to the curriculum, indicators of creative thinking, and language. Elements of the assessment in terms of media include instructional design, visual communication, and aspects of creative thinking. The validation results show the average percentage of material experts is 97.55%, and media experts is 93.7%. The results of the user response test (teachers and students) were 99.76%. This value shows that online learning videos were included in the very appropriate category as learning media to improve students' creative thinking skills on the material of the circulatory system. Therefore, the media that has been developed in this study is expected to be followed up in further research and applied in biology learning.

Mathematical creative thinking ability: The impact of adversity quotient on triangle and quadrilateral shapes material

This research has a background, namely the ability to think mathematical creatively. This is because students pay less attention to the mathematics learning process. This will have an impact on the ability to think creatively in mathematics so that it will not develop properly. Adversity Quotient is the creative thinking ability of a student who can solve problems well if supported by good solving skills. The purpose of this research is to see the creative thinking ability of students in terms of the adversity quotient. The method in this research is descriptive qualitative research with an interview process. Data collection in this research is in the form of instrument questions that contain indicators of creative thinking, namely fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. The results of the research were seen from the results of the answers to the questions on the mathematical creative thinking ability instrument and the adversity quotient, which contained that students had three types of adversity quotient, namely Climbers, Campers, and Quitters. Subjects with indicators of fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration with the Climbers type were able to solve the questions according to each indicator, the Campers type students were able to solve the questions correctly but were still lacking in preparing answers, and the Quitters type students still did not understand how to solve the questions so that the answer was wrong.
