Marine and fisheries development in Fakfak Regency during the first long-term development has shown positive results that can be shown by a fairly high increase in production accompanied by an increase in community fish consumption, an increase in fishermen's income for the community, an increase in inter-island and export fish marketing, an expansion of employment and business opportunities in the marine and fisheries sector. This study aims to find out how the marine and fisheries sector affects the increase in Regional Original Revenue (PAD) of Fakfak Regency and to find out the impact of regional levies on the receipt of Daserah Original Revenue for the Marine and Fisheries Sector of Fakfak Regency. The research method used is a qualitative research method. Seeing the existing reality, the marine and fisheries sector has maximally made breakthrough efforts according to its role in order to increase Regional Original Revenue (PAD) as capital in regional development.

This study aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the concept of the role of strategic leadership in achieving competitive advantage. The study also aims to determine the role of strategic leadership in achieving competitive advantage in Dallah Al Baraka Company - Jeddah, and to know the level of practices of its senior leadership, and to know the level of practices of middle leadership (department heads). of senior leaders and employees from the point of view of their employees. To achieve the objectives of the study in the chosen environment, Dallah Al Baraka Group of Companies - Jeddah, the field study was applied to a sample of (30) of the company’s employees, divided into 10 (senior leadership); (10) Department heads; (10) employees in the departments, and a questionnaire form was designed with a set of scales, and each scale measures each dimension and each variable separately. The questionnaire form included four sections: demographic data, the role of strategic leadership in achieving competitive excellence, and the impact of strategic leadership on financial performance, the impact of strategic leadership on creative and innovative aspects. Then the researcher used the descriptive analytical method through which he attempts to describe the phenomenon - the subject of the study, answer its questions, and test its hypotheses - and analyze its data using the statistical program SPSS. The study reached several results, the most important of which are: Strategic leadership decisions and practices led to an increase in revenues and profits at Dallah Al Baraka Company. Strategic leadership also contributed to achieving growth and expansion in the organization’s activities and investments. The study also demonstrated the presence of clear indicators that reflect the impact of leadership on competitive advantage. The results of the study confirmed that leadership practices work to achieve competitive excellence in a sustainable manner in Dallah Al Baraka companies, and that creativity and encouraging innovation is the primary factor in enhancing the competitive ability of the organization. The study concluded with some recommendations, the most important of which is the necessity of having effective communication channels to achieve the primary goal of strategic leadership, let it be strategic communication. The study also recommended the need to strive towards training the organization’s employees, whether they are leaders or employees in their work sites, in a way that enables them to perform their work and achieve innovative growth during training.

Economic assessment of municipal solid waste management in midsized metropolitan areas of Brazil

This paper addresses the incipient number of studies regarding municipal solid waste management in Brazil, where the federal law requires the inclusion of waste pickers in waste management and proposes waste diversion targets far from being attained. Therefore, decision-makers can make the best choice economically among alternative technological roadmaps that meet the legal requirements. The proposed alternatives combine biowaste treatments (open composting, closed composting, anaerobic digestion), recycling and final disposal methods (landfill and incineration) for a metropolitan region with two million inhabitants. The results show that incineration can lower the costs for the citizens, and the cost increase is modest if anaerobic digestion is chosen if no profit is intended after 20 years (IRR=0%). However, higher profit (8% and 16% IRR) causes a significant increase in the service fees, which could encourage the use of composting facilities with lower environmental performance. Furthermore, the high waste diversions scenarios have lower service fees than the low diversions counterparts because of the increase in revenue from sales of recyclable materials and employing 5,697 instead of 2,138 pickers to work at sorting facilities, therefore highly recommended.

Innovation in a business is an important key to remaining competitive and improving the quality of products, services and marketing. So it can increase customer awareness and satisfaction and increase revenue. The aim of this research is to find out the description and formulation of Marketing Innovation using the Digital Marketing Canvas approach at Albaby Official MSMEs. The object of the research is an MSME that operates in the fashion sector, especially baby shoes. Located in Dramaga, Bogor Regency. Using a qualitative case study approach. This study focuses on understanding the problems faced by MSMEs regarding digital adoption and the innovations they implement. Using primary data through observation, semi-structured interviews with MSME owners and secondary data including MSME sales data. Alleged interim results : MSME Albaby Official is experiencing problems with products and marketing, the core problem is in marketing because MSME Albaby Official only uses the Shopee platform to market its products. It is hoped that by implementing marketing innovations in its business, MSME Albaby Official can increase brand awareness and increase revenue. The results of this research confirm that the application of the Digital Marketing Canvas has helped MSMEs in developing effective marketing strategies and adapting themselves to rapidly changing market dynamics.

FISCAL POLICY OF POST-WAR ECONOMIC RECOVERY AND ITS IMPACT ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE TERRITORIAL ECONOMY

Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine entailed devastating consequences for the economy of local communities. However, thanks to the fiscal policy measures taken in connection with the introduction of martial law in Ukraine, local budgets not only did not lose tax revenues, but also increased them. It is proved that local governments cannot directly influence the formation of discretionary fiscal policy, since only public authorities can carry out discretionary fiscal policy by targeting changes in the amount of taxes and public expenditures through amendments to legislation. For post-war economic recovery, it will be effective to implement a stimulating fiscal policy, that is, a policy aimed at increasing government spending and cutting taxes to expand aggregate demand in the economy. It is substantiated that local governments during the post-war economic recovery, using fiscal policy, have the opportunity to indirectly influence the growth of total revenues of local budgets, thus influencing the development of the economy of the territories. Sources of additional funds to finance the needs of local communities during the post-war economic recovery can be achieved by: creating new jobs, which will lead to an increase in local budget revenues; increasing the investment attractiveness of the territories, which will also increase tax revenues; effective control over the use of budget expenditures and the use of natural resources. The effective use of these tools can significantly improve the fiscal policy to fill the budgets of local communities during the post-war economic recovery. Under the conditions of martial law and post-war economic recovery, fiscal policy requires diversification of the economy of local communities by optimizing the use of available and search for unused local resources, transferring emphasis to the use of the potential of local markets

Corporate Tax Disclosure

ABSTRACT Policies that require, or recommend, disclosure of corporate tax information are becoming more common throughout the world, as are examples of tax-related information increasingly influencing public policy and perceptions. In addition, companies are increasing the voluntary provision of tax-related information. We describe those trends and place them within a taxonomy of public and private tax disclosure. We then review the academic literature on corporate tax disclosures and discuss what is known about their effects. One key takeaway is the paucity of evidence that many tax disclosures mandated with the aim of increasing tax revenue have produced additional revenue. We highlight many crucial unanswered questions, answers to which would inform future tax legislation and financial accounting rule making.

The Implementation of Tourism Policies in Sikka Regency: Tracing the Role of Local Government in Maintaining Tourism Places

The tourism sector plays a significant source of foreign exchange profits and promotes national economic growth, particularly in terms of lowering unemployment and boosting a country's productivity. However, a tourism destination located in a village frequently produces conflicts of interest between stakeholders and tourism service providers in the community. Thus, this research is intended to find out what are the government policies towards the sustainability of the tourism sector in Sikka Regency. In addition, this research aims to investigate the impacts of Tourism policies conducted by Sikka Regency Government. This research uses qualitative research design by employing interviews and documentation to gain the comprehensive data. The results of this study indicate that there are several programs conducted by the Tourism and Culture office in Sikka Regency. The programs are increasing attractiveness of tourist destinations program, tourism marketing program, and tourism and creative economy resource development program. In implementing the programs, several activities carried out starting from maximising socialisation, implementing several programs by involving all stakeholders to work together in optimising tourist destinations. In addition, the Tourism and Culture office also provides tourism personnel with education and training related to the program. Furthermore, the Tourism and Culture office establishes rules for each tourist destination to record and report the Regional Original Revenue. The implementation of tourism policies in Sikka Regency has been effective. It can be seen from the increase of Regional Original Revenue 2021-2024, especially in the tourism sector. Several suggestions are that the Tourism and Culture office need to improve infrastructure and collaborate with other tourist attraction managers to build links.

РОЛЬ ОФСЕТНЫХ КОНТРАКТОВ В РАЗВИТИИ МЕХАНИЗМОВ ГОСУДАРСТВЕННО-ЧАСТНОГО ПАРТНЕРСТВА

An offset contract implies a government contract that assumes the existence of counter investment obligations, both on the part of the investor and on the part of the state. The investor assumes responsibility for the creation or modernization of production on the territory of the Russian Federation, and the state, in turn, creates attractive conditions for doing business. From the meaning and content of the offset contract, it can be considered as a manifestation of the mechanism of public-private partnership, which finds its expression as a result of the interaction of the subject of the Russian Federation and the supplier-investor. Offset contracts represent a promising and beneficial mechanism for both sides of interaction, which allows us to focus on long-term cooperation, which entails the creation of new production facilities on the territory of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, as a result, jobs, and an increase in tax revenues. The urgency of a detailed study of the offset contract mechanism is conditioned by the possibility of implementing the plans of the Government of the Russian Federation to localize the production of technically complex products and increase the pace of import substitution under international sanctions. The study presents the advantages of an offset contract in comparison with other investment attraction tools and options for its adaptation in the Kursk region.

Paying for School Finance Reforms: How States Raise Revenues to Fund Increases in Elementary-Secondary Education Expenditures

This study investigates how individual states raise revenue to pay for elementary-secondary education spending following school finance reforms (SFRs). We identify states that increased and sustained education expenditures after reform, search for legislative statutes that appropriated more education spending, and assess how policymakers funded the SFRs. Our results show that state legislatures increase investments in education by increasing tax revenue streams, such as sales and excise taxes, and by taking over property tax collections. Considering these results, we discuss that increased state investment in education should be accompanied by a policy mechanism to distribute state aid equitably to districts. Moreover, policymakers should consider local voters’ preferences when implementing SFR policies, as tax increases may reduce local fiscal effort for education.

Transforming sorted and performance of waste recovery companies: Circular Economy, Sustainability Technology and SDGs

Waste management is now a major global concern. Therefore, the circular economy (CE) and sustainable technology have become the necessary means of achieving sustainable business development. In this study, we conduct an analysis of the waste recovery sector in Spain to determine whether the most innovative and socially aware companies complied with sustainable development goal (SDG) 5 (gender equality) and SDG 8 (decent work and growth) during the period 2019–2021 (pre-Coronavirus Disease 2019, (pre-COVID-19), during COVID-19, and post-COVID-19). To this end, based on factors comprising economic and financial variables, the companies were grouped via a cluster analysis using the k-means method; they were linked to the SDGs (5 and 8) in order to determine the compliance of this sector. The results indicate that the technological transformations carried out by the waste valorization companies were reflected in their financial performance, with an increase in revenues of 61 % between 2019 and 2021; all clusters complied with SDG 8. However, despite promoting business transformation, social change, sustainable technology, and CE, these companies are far from compliant with SDG 5; indeed, a setback in social development was observed, with a significant decline in the number of women in positions of power after COVID-19. This therefore constitutes one of the greatest challenges for companies in this sector.

Conceptual approach to the assessment of the economic effect from the implementation of digital economic forensics

Introduction. Digital economic forensics as a system of collecting and analyzing information about economic operations at enterprises using digital information systems and modern technologies of big data, artificial intelligence and digital learning allows timely detection of suspicious actions containing economic security risks and timely resolution of crisis situations, minimizing losses and appeal to law enforcement agencies. Currently, the implementation of such tools has not gained significant scale at Ukrainian enterprises, primarily due to the lack of awareness of the management of enterprises about the benefits of forensics, the lack of readily available standard software tools for the rapid implementation, the lack of the necessary training, and, in particular, the enterprise management’s lack of ability to assess the economic effect such tools. The purpose of the paper is to develop an approach to the assessment of the economic effect of the implementation of digital economic forensics at enterprises, which would take into account the key sources of such an economic effect at the level of the enterprise and the state, as well as the main probabilistic characteristics of correct identification, successful minimization and implementation of risks. Results. The paper has analyzed the key sources of economic effect from the implementation of digital economic forensics. For enterprises, that includes the minimization of losses and costs associated with filing claims with law enforcement agencies, the costs of responding to risks, improving reputation, preventing downtime and interruptions in activity, increasing the trust of counterparties, employee productivity, etc. For the state, that includes reducing the burden on law enforcement agencies, improving the economic indicators of enterprises and increasing tax revenues, reducing the level of economic crime, general improvement of the economic situation, etc. An approach to the calculation of the economic effect is proposed, which, thanks to taking into account the probabilities of correct identification, successful minimization and realization of risks, allows increasing the accuracy of the assessment of the actual and potential economic effect from the use of economic forensics tools. Conclusion. By taking into account the probabilities of correct identification, successful minimization and materialization of risks, the approach developed in the paper allows increasing the accuracy of the assessment of the actual and potential economic effect from the use of economic forensics tools. This, in turn, is a key to promoting the implementation of such tools at enterprises by creating the visibility of digital economic forensics value in enterprise management.

Analyzing the causal relationship between exchange rate and international tourism in Vietnam

The impact of tourism on exchange rates, and vice versa, varies from country to country. This study empirically explores the causal relationship between exchange rates and international tourism in Vietnam. To examine this relationship, data on real exchange rates, foreign tourist arrivals, and real tourism revenue were extracted from the general statistical yearbook from 2000 to 2019. This paper explicitly highlights how exchange rates impact tourism under a government-controlled exchange rate regime. The results indicate a weak unidirectional causal relationship between foreign tourist arrival and real exchange rates. An increase in the real exchange rate increases short-term income but has a negative impact on long-term tourism revenue, while an increase in real tourism revenue reduces the real exchange rate in the short run but is stable in the long run. The research supports the perspective that maintaining a stable exchange rate attracts international tourists in the long term. Based on these findings, the Vietnamese government should adopt a cautious approach to price stabilization policies and encourage export-oriented industries to attract international tourists and promote tourism.

Regional taxes are an obligation that must be paid by the community as taxpayers to local governments, functioning to finance regional infrastructure development aimed at improving community welfare. This study aims to determine the tax revenue revenue from each type of regional tax in SITARO Regency by showing the achievement of the target and percentage of tax revenue realization in 2018–2022. The method used in this study is qualitative-descriptive with primary and secondary data sources. The data collection techniques are interviews and documentation. The results of the study show that SITARO Regency's regional tax revenue from 2018 to 2022 fluctuated with an achievement rate of 94%. Meanwhile, the percentage realization of each type of regional tax is: hotel tax of 76%; restaurant tax of 109%; entertainment tax revenue only existed in 2019 and 2020 by 100%; billboard tax of 99%; street lighting tax of 92%; groundwater tax of 30.82%; tax on non-metallic minerals and rocks at 96.94%; PBB P2 by 92.58%; and BPHTB by 115.49%. From the total, it can be concluded that the increase and decrease in tax revenue are due to a lack of public understanding and awareness of paying taxes. The Regional Revenue Division of SITARO Regency sets the tax target budget to not be too high so that the realization can be maximized.

Modeling price-sensitive demand in turbulent times: an application to continuous pricing

AbstractPricing drives demand for service industries such as air transport, hotels, and car rentals. To optimise the price, firms have to predict real-time customer demand at the micro level and optimise the price. This paper contributes to revenue management by introducing a nonparametric statistical approach to predict price-sensitive demand and its application to continuous pricing. Continuous pricing lets service companies maximise revenue by using customers’ willingness to pay. However, it requires accurate demand estimations, particularly of customers’ price sensitivity. This paper introduces an augmented generalised additive model to estimate price sensitivity, which identifies substantial variations in price sensitivity, exceeds the predictive performance of state-of-the-art alternatives, and controls for price endogeneity. In addition, the demand model has variable price derivatives enabling continuous pricing. The proposed approach offers a simple and efficient way to implement continuous pricing with a closed-form solution. Our research also highlights the relevance of considering the problem of price endogeneity when estimating price-sensitive demand based on observations from prior pricing decisions. We demonstrate how continuous pricing is applied using empirical airline ticket data. We document a field study, which shows a revenue increase of 6% on average, and outline how the approach applies to turbulent market conditions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the surge in inflation since mid-2021, and the start of the Ukraine war in April 2022.

Estimating the cost of young stock mortality in livestock systems-An application to sheep farming in Ethiopia.

In sub-Saharan Africa, pre-weaning young stock mortality (YSM) is in the order of 20 to 30% across most livestock species and production systems. High YSM has significant economic implications for livestock keepers, but few studies provide estimates of the "cost of YSM." This study explores a bio-economic herd modeling approach to estimate the "cost of YSM" at farming/livestock system level. The static zero-growth version of DYNMOD was used to calculate the annual physical and monetary output of a sheep flock consisting of 100 breeding females at different levels of lamb mortality. Production parameter values and prices were taken from recently published research. Calculations were carried out for values of lamb mortality decreasing from 30% to 0% in 5% intervals, with 20% representing the "baseline" YSM. Calculations were repeated for a "high" fertility scenario (100% vs. 59% parturition rate) to gauge the sensitivity of the cost of YSM to another parameter determining flock productivity. The relation of revenue per head and YSM is close to linear over the range of analyzed YSM with 1% decrease in YSM resulting in an increase in revenue per animal of approximately 1%. At the higher fertility rate, the absolute cost of YSM to sheep farmers is higher while the relative increase in revenue per animal resulting from YSM reduction is lower. The estimated difference in revenue of the 100-ewe flock between the 20% and 0% lamb mortality scenarios (at baseline fertility) amounts to approximately USD 90 per additionally surviving lamb, which is far above its market value. Reduced lamb mortality ultimately impacts flock revenue through increased sales of "mature" animals, which embody the value of a lamb plus the revenue/profit from raising it to marketable age/weight. The modeling results suggest that foregone profit is an important component of the systemic "cost of YSM." Consequently, expected profit per animal, in addition to its current market value, is essential for estimating the absolute cost of YSM at farming system level.

The expansion of the digital ecosystem has been significantly aided by the rise in internet and smartphone use in India. Overall, the move towards a cashless economy in India promises enhanced financial inclusion, reduced corruption, and increased tax revenue. Utilization of Digital Marketing in Increasing Sales of Msme in Bengkalis Regency

This research project aims to utilize digital marketing to increase sales of Msme Martabak Mandor, Gatot Subroto street, Bengkalis City. Project implementation is carried out through 4 stages, namely (1) project preparation planning (2) project implementation planning, third (3) project completion stage, and Fourth(4) Project Reporting Plan. Digital marketing used is email marketing and social media marketing. The results of this project were From implementing of digital marketing, the sales of Sweet Martabak and Egg Martabak products per October are 2132 boxes. With 1677 boxes of Sweet Martabak products and 455 boxes for Egg Martabak. With a total sales turnover of Rp.37,763,000. In November, sales of Sweet Martabak products total 1532 boxes and 418 boxes of Egg Martabak with a total sales turnover of Rp.37,839,000. MSME Martabak Mandor experienced an increase in sales revenue of 27.9%. This also proves that the implementation of digital marketing is able to increase sales of MSME Martabak Mandor .The average increase is 2-3 boxes of each Martabak product sold consumers are interested in ordering online and repurchasing outside the Bengkalis city area and Gatot Subroto Street, and there are also people or consumers who come directly to the Msme Martabak Mandor place.

An integrated academic library supply chain (IALSC) model

Purpose This exploratory study illustrated an integrated academic library supply chain (IALSC) model to design the strategic planning management tool of the academic library. The supply chain (SC) model has been widely used in manufacturing industries and has also been applied in many service industries with the same objectives. However, very few studies for academic libraries, particularly the implementation of the integrated SC model, are being executed, although it has been proven that SC management in practice can enhance stakeholder satisfaction, increase revenues and decrease total costs. The academic library also needs to be successful in providing quality products, services and information to fulfil the library users’ needs within the library budget. This research aims to develop a verified model of the integrated SC for the academic library. Design/methodology/approach This research used both qualitative and quantitative approaches to achieve its objectives. The proposed conceptual SC model, named as IALSC, for the academic library has been developed using the system thinking method; eventually, it has been validated through the fuzzy Delphi method, an expert judgement technique. Findings The research findings could contribute to academic library management in planning and formulating a roadmap for the library to increase its quality services for all stakeholders. Originality/value The conceptual model would have a high potential to be proposed as the strategic decision-making tool for an academic library, i.e. the flow of funds through the operations of the library, the library stakeholders’ satisfaction measurement, the decision process currently made by the library management team on the purchase of new library resources, the library resource suppliers, etc.
