Nectere between Social Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

Over, the past few years, social entrepreneurship has grow as a cause of poor effectiveness of government bodies in upgrading the wealth, quality of life of underprivileged social sectors. Since, the aim of sustainable development is to enhance the standard of individual’s lives. Social entrepreneurship including its advantages, would be observed as one of the most significant opinion for development. This study explores the interconnectedness between social entrepreneurship and sustainable development goals. Social entrepreneurship characterized by innovative, sustainable and impact driven solution to societal challenges, align closely with the sustainable development goals agenda for global development. This study made review of past researchers and use of present researchers. The study involve the Introduction; entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship; characteristics of social entrepreneurs; importance of social entrepreneurship in advancing the sustainable goals agenda; conception of sustainable development goals; link between social entrepreneurship and sustainable development; conclusion and implications. Finally this paper concludes with implications of policies and research emphasizing the greater support and integration of social entrepreneurship with broader development framework to accelerate progress towards the sustainable development to meet up with common needs without diminishing the importance of other goals and build a most sustainable and inclusive world. Understanding social entrepreneurial intention in higher education: does gender and type of study matter?

ABSTRACT Social entrepreneurship is a research topic that has received great attention from academics especially in recent years. However, the results in the literature are far from univocal, for example, there is no clear conceptual delimitation of the term, and it is often analyzed using the same theoretical models of traditional entrepreneurship. With the present study, we have attempted to overcome this problem by analyzing different antecedents, closer to the social and emotional universe, and detached from a male-centric and traditional vision of entrepreneurship, with the aim of understanding social entrepreneurial intentions in higher education. Results obtained from a sample of 962 college students showed that prior experience with social problems (PESP) and empathy (EMP) have a significant and positive impact on social entrepreneurial intention (SEI). Furthermore, social self-efficacy (SES-E), moral obligation (MO), and perceived social support (PSS), in addition to directly influencing SEI, mediated the relationship between PESP-SEI, and the relationship between EMP-SEI. More interestingly, gender (male vs female), but not the different type of study (social sciences vs economics and business sciences), moderated the relationship between EMP-SEI to the benefit of women. Given the importance of social entrepreneurship as an alternative solution to the current economic crisis, these are important results because, on the one hand, they make it possible to overcome the male-female gap that characterizes traditional entrepreneurship, on the other, they underline the need to introduce different constructs closer to the social and emotional sphere into entrepreneurship education programs.

Social Entrepreneurship as Driver for Increasing Social Innovation

Introduction. One of the directions of strengthening the social component in the context of sustainable development is the spread of social innovations. The processes of generation and production of innovations should be considered through activating social development, innovating activity of enterprises, and social entrepreneurship that primarily focuses on achieving a social effect in society.Problem Statement. It is expedient to activate the development of social innovations based on a detailed study of the prerequisites through regional programs to support social entrepreneurship, taking into account the resource capabilities and peculiarities of the functioning of the regions. Social entrepreneurship generates economic, environmental, and social values.Purpose. Research the prerequisites, problems, and prospects for the development of social entrepreneurship as one of the drivers of the activation of social innovations in the conditions of modern geopolitical and socioeconomic challenges.Material and Methods. There have been used the methods of analysis, synthesis, comparison, structural, functio nal, system, statistical analysis, and integration.Results. The results of monitoring the activities of social enterprises in the EU countries have been analyzed. The prerequisites and trends of the development of innovative and social entrepreneurship in Ukrainian territories have been studied based on the proposed integral index of the ability of regions to do social entrepreneurship and socially responsible and innovating business.Conclusions. The importance of social entrepreneurship in solving social needs in the country and activating social innovations has been proven. Geopolitical, socio-economic, and institutional challenges of recent years have become a powerful impetus for the activation of social entrepreneurship in Ukraine.

Relevance and Importance of Social Entrepreneurship in India: A Survey based Analysis

An ideal society is one in which both problems and solutions coexist. Without efforts made by every industry on which a society stands, such problems cannot be implemented. One such industry is the social entrepreneurship industry. This practice uses business strategies and innovative approaches to address social problems and create positive change in communities. The social entrepreneurship industry has the potential to bring about significant change in society by tackling social problems with a business mindset. It can create a sustainable impact and help build a better future for everyone. In India, social entrepreneurship has become increasingly relevant and important in recent years. With a population of over 1.3 billion, India faces a range of complex challenges acting like a menace to the society, including poverty, inequality, pollution, climate change, and access to basic services like healthcare and education. Social entrepreneurs in India are therefore working to tackle these issues by developing innovative solutions that address the root causes of these problems. This paper aims to review the relevance and importance of social entrepreneurship in India.

The role and functions of social entrepreneurship in economic development

Social entrepreneurship is one of the active research areas in modern economics research. This article analyzes the concept of social entrepreneurship, its meaning and the main prerequisites for the development of social entrepreneurship in Kazakhstan. The article describes the features and characteristics of social enterprises in Kazakhstan. The main purpose of the article is to analyze the development of social entrepreneurship in Kazakhstan on specific examples and determine its importance in the development of the economy. Determine the role of this industry in the country's economy and the factors necessary to improve it. Social entrepreneurship involves the proper use of resources to promote sustainable and inclusive entrepreneurship that values values. Therefore, since the concept of social entrepreneurship is still not fully understood, this area needs in-depth research. The main factors that distinguish social entrepreneurship from traditional entrepreneurship are the use by entrepreneurs of economic resources and social opportunities that are innovative and adapted to modern conditions. An in-depth study of social entrepreneurship requires determining its economic role and strategic objectives. The importance of social entrepreneurship and its role in the socio-economic development of society is very important, as well as the need to create a favorable business climate in this area. As a result of the analysis, the basic concepts of social entrepreneurship were clarified, the characteristics, features, and role of social entrepreneurship in Kazakhstan were determined, and its functions were analyzed.

Social entrepreneurship in the mechanism of realization of constitutional rights and freedoms of man and citizen

The article is devoted to the consideration of the concept and legal nature of social business through the prism of the mechanism of realizationof the constitutional rights and freedoms of a person and a citizen and the peculiarities of the implementation of social business models in Ukraine. The article analyzes successful social entrepreneurship projects that built their model taking into account two factors: the business component and the social component.
 Problematic issues caused by the introduction of martial law in Ukraine and aggression by the Russian Federation in the sphere of the realization of constitutional rights, in particular the right to social protection, to work in conditions of war, are outlined. Taking into account the large number of internally displaced persons, destroyed enterprises, persons who need additional financial support and deficit in the budget, the importance of social entrepreneurship is substantiated.
 It is noted that local communities around the world play an increasingly important role in solving social problems. Ukraine is also following the path of decentralization, and it is really working. Due to the desire of a certain target group to take responsibility and the will of the center to give it,new initiatives arise that can change the world.
 In the course of the study, the authors come to the conclusion that social entrepreneurship can symbolize the departure of Ukrainian society fromcollectivism and the transition to individualism, where legal entities and natural personsentrepreneurs, through their activities on their own initiative, create decent conditions for the life of socially vulnerable segments of the population.

Social Entrepreneurship as a Panacea to Mitigate Nigerian Youth Unemployment

This paper is anchored on social entrepreneurship as a panacea for mitigating unemployment among the Nigerian youth. Without overemphasizing the condition of unemployment in Nigeria, an avalanche of studies have substantiated this assertion by reporting that the rate of youth unemployment is on the increase in Nigeria, causing frustration, dependency and dejection. With the increasing turnout of graduates yearly from tertiary institutions, many gradates still remain unemployed for a long time after graduation. The major objectives of the paper are; to examine the concept and meaning of social entrepreneurship, identify the role and importance of social entrepreneurship in mitigating youth unemployment in Nigeria, and to know the challenges of social entrepreneurship in Nigeria. However, this paper is mainly qualitative, hence relied on secondary sources of data. The methodological approach in this paper, therefore, is based on content analysis while social network theory remains the theoretical thrust.

Abstract. The essence and importance of social entrepreneurship as a component of the region’s socio-economic development and the financial instruments’ availability for the social entrepreneurship’s development are revealed. Especially highlighted are crowdfunding, mezzanine financing, impact investment, hybrid financing. The importance of investment instruments development with undervalued financial requirements is determined. The social enterprise’ development a is closely related to financial and material provision, which improves the socio-economic and investment development of the region. The purpose of business’ social investment is to increase the investment attractiveness of the company and the region by increasing human capital and minimizing social risks. In this aspect, the social entrepreneurship ability to attract investments and achieve social effect from the enterprise’s activities is especially important. Social entrepreneurship in Ukraine has already established itself as one of the effective mechanisms for solving socially significant problems: in particular, through creating jobs for representatives of population vulnerable groups and investing income in new social initiatives, as well as attracting investments to the region of investment location. The union role of the now lies in combining the efforts of existing Ukrainian social enterprises from various spheres to support, popularize and scale their activities. And the association’s absolute goal is the formation and development of social enterprises in Ukraine as a social economy realization form. It is determined that social entrepreneurship within the region is aimed at solving the region social problems, applying innovative approaches to increase the social effect, partial self-sufficiency and financial stability, spreading positive experience to increase social impact, the social entrepreneur ability to see the market shortcomings, find opportunities, accumulate resources, develop new solutions that have a long-term positive social impact on society as a whole. Social entrepreneurship plays an important role in attracting investment funds to the region development. It is proposed to apply intact sources of funding for social entrepreneurship for the policy of socio-economic and investment development of regions. One such source is crowdfunding, impact investment, mezzanine capital. There are new funding sources for social entrepreneurship, which involve investing in various ways in social entrepreneurship to achieve a social effect. ПІДТРИМКА СОЦІАЛЬНОГО ПІДПРИЄМНИЦТВА ПІД ЧАС ВІЙНИ ТА ПОДАЛЬША ВІДБУДОВА

The article explores the importance of social entrepreneurship in times of crisis for the country. The main problems associated with the impact of military aggression on the work of social enterprises are identified. The relationship between the economic consequences of the COVID-19 epidemic and military aggression has been established. The scale of the crisis in terms of economic, environmental and demographic aspects has been identified. The main stages of the restoration of social entrepreneurship in Ukraine according to time and substantive criteria are highlighted. The main advantages and disadvantages of social entrepreneurship at the present stage in the context of the main prospects for development after its restoration are described. It is said that Ukraine's integration into the EU means not only the full support of partners, but also the fact that the country faces the challenge of rebuilding state institutions and infrastructure development. The authors state that decentralization will help Ukraine to pass the path of successful post-war reconstruction and say that the international reconstruction program should be based on close cooperation with local governments, because social enterprises provide territorial well-being, material values of society in a certain territory. profit while working for communities. In the study, the authors point out that the support of social business by local governments is mostly carried out within the programs to support small and medium-sized businesses in the pre-war period and now. It is noted that in the process of rebuilding social entrepreneurship, cooperation with cloud platforms will help to conduct preliminary analysis of projects and screenings of dubious social entrepreneurship projects, and some of them only attract companies and investors, are the sole owner of investors in funded enterprises. The emphasis is placed on the connection between defining the mission of the university, positioning itself as a "world-class university" or "university that solves world problems" and the development of social entrepreneurship, as the practical implementation of this mission and providing real services to society.ntrepreneurship from teaching students social entrepreneurship in theory and practice to providing expert support to social entrepreneurs, authorities, communities. Based on the analysis of the experience of European, American and Asian universities, there are main accents in teaching social entrepreneurship such as - to teach strategic social partnership, teach to create, scale and replicate social values and social change, to measure social impact, to foresee potential sources of financial resources. The activities of the fund “Ashok” in support of student social entrepreneurship have been briefly analyzed. The main problems of legalization and legitimization of university social entrepreneurship have been identified: the creation of a legal framework for student social enterprises, the formation of relationships with regional authorities. The main reasons for the significant distance away from Ukrainian universities in realizing the importance of social entrepreneurship have been highlighted. Conclusions. Recommendations are formulated to accelerate the introduction of social entrepreneurship in the educational process in Ukrainian universities. They cover all areas of university activities: scientific researches by teachers and students, educational activities, practices of organizing social enterprises, their relationships with government entities in the regions of operation etc.

Role of Youth in Social Entrepreneurship

In recent years, the scope and importance of social entrepreneurship has increased this is because the concept of philanthropy mixed with entrepreneurship is unique and intriguing. Entrepreneurship in general is concerned with profit making and meeting economic needs whereas philanthropy is concerned with promoting the welfare of society and meeting social needs. An economic entrepreneur measures their performance through returns in terms of profit, although a social entrepreneur measures their performance on the basis of positive returns in terms of social, cultural and environmental goals. This paper deals with the key role that youth play in promoting social entrepreneurship. Previous studies have shown that not only is social entrepreneurship beneficial to the society, but it is also one of the fastest growing sectors providing gainful employment.

The development of social entrepreneurship education in Japan

Though the importance of social entrepreneurship (SE) and its education are widely recognised by practitioners in prior literature, SE pedagogy in universities and graduate schools, especially in Japan, has not been well researched. Using the syllabi of 457 courses at 91 Japanese universities, the authors found the following: first, courses are mainly provided in Economics and Management, followed by Sociology, Basic Liberal Arts, Political sciences, Community and Region Studies, Engineering, Design and Art, and Social Welfare departments. Second, teaching methods primarily included theory and history, followed by case studies, group work and discussion, presentations, guest speakers, field work, analytical methodology, and making business plans. Third, courses aimed at understanding SE were followed by nurturing the students’ basic academic skills, sense of entrepreneurship, knowledge about enterprises, and management of social enterprises.

“Examining the Role of Social Capital, Sustainability Orientation and Self-efficacy in Entrepreneurial Intention among Indian Students”

Although India has made great strides in economic growth but despite that there exist huge inequality gap in society and people are still devoid of basic amenities. The benefits of growth post liberalization has been only limited to rich and middle class in India. Over 60% of the Indian population still lives on less than $2 (about Rs.130 at current rates) a day. The presence of inequality and myriads of social and economic problems requires the need for social entrepreneurship. Social entrepreneurs can contribute in alleviation of social and economic issues by putting those less fortunate on the path towards a worthwhile life.Understanding the importance of social entrepreneurship in addressing social and economic issues, the current study aims at understanding how social entrepreneurship intentions are formed among Indian students. It further explore the relationship between intention and behavior. The conceptual model has been proposed to understand entrepreneurial intention formation. SEM is used to test the proposed hypotheses. All four hypotheses have been found positive and significant. Sustainability orientation is found to have the most significant impact of entrepreneurial intentions followed by self-efficacy and social capital.

Determinants of Social Entrepreneurship in Ukraine

The high importance of social entrepreneurship for the development of national and regional economies is widely recognized. This article contributes to the emerging theoretical discourse of social entrepreneurship by explicating the representatives of different schools. Social entrepreneurship occupies a third sector between the private sector of the economy and the non-profit sector as it aims to solve social problems. Social entrepreneurship functions as an organization that selfsustains at the expense of the innovative organization of its core business. The article suggests holistic approaches to entrepreneurship research based on entrepreneur-associated factors, characteristics of the political and legal environment. These determinants can have direct or indirect influences on entrepreneurial processes mandatory for the development of social entrepreneurship.To determine the strengths and weaknesses of the development of social entrepreneurship in Ukraine, as well as its opportunities and threats, the SWOT analysis was carried out. The actions required to improve the current state of social entrepreneurship were justified. The detection of threats and opportunities has made it possible to identify priorities for the development of social entrepreneurship in Ukraine, taking into account existing risks.

Social entrepreneurship: the foundation of tomorrow's commercial business models?

Social and commercial entrepreneurship are often said to be two contrasting disciplines that are, at best, only tenuously related. Even though there is a lack of consensus on how to define both social and commercial entrepreneurship, most definitions of social entrepreneurship commonly state that solving social problems demands a narrow, specialised focus, whilst commercial entrepreneurship is often seen as a more conventionally 'business'-like activity. In this article, we put forward our arguments using theoretical discussion backed up by practical case studies to show that many of today's commercial business models are based on ideas with a social intention. Our findings on the economic importance of innovative social business ideas highlight the importance of social entrepreneurship, and the importance of encouraging social aspects in teaching, practical entrepreneurship support and research. In fact, we even find that social and commercial entrepreneurship are highly interrelated phenomena, which should not be treated as separate disciplines.

Understanding Social Entrepreneurship

The importance of social entrepreneurship in social, cultural and economic terms is increasingly acknowledged. Drawing on data from the second Social Entrepreneurship Monitor report published by the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) UK project, this article focuses on the social entrepreneurs who may grow the social enterprises of the future. After establishing an appropriate definition of ‘social entrepreneurship’, the author assesses how much social entrepreneurial activity there is in the UK, breaking that activity down into the categories of ‘nascent’, ‘baby’ and ‘established’ and examining regional variations. She then reports on the characteristics of both mainstream and social entrepreneurs, and analyses their respective demographic profiles. This is followed by a discussion of the nature of social enterprises, including such issues as their main sources of revenue and the reasons why so many find it hard to obtain finance. The article concludes with reference to the policy implications of the paper, highlighting the importance of formulating strategies to stimulate social entrepreneurship.
