Abstract
In recent years, the scope and importance of social entrepreneurship has increased this is because the concept of philanthropy mixed with entrepreneurship is unique and intriguing. Entrepreneurship in general is concerned with profit making and meeting economic needs whereas philanthropy is concerned with promoting the welfare of society and meeting social needs. An economic entrepreneur measures their performance through returns in terms of profit, although a social entrepreneur measures their performance on the basis of positive returns in terms of social, cultural and environmental goals. This paper deals with the key role that youth play in promoting social entrepreneurship. Previous studies have shown that not only is social entrepreneurship beneficial to the society, but it is also one of the fastest growing sectors providing gainful employment.
