Using the innovative tool to prepare a quality national cancer control programme

Abstract Issue National cancer control programmes (NCCPs) are key documents in European Member States (MSs) used for the management of cancer policy. While some countries still have not prepared their NCCPs, there are several others, whose NCCP is not of high quality or not implemented. Description of the problem There is frequently a lack of knowledge in countries on how to prepare a quality NCCP or how to improve the existing one. Our objectives were: 1. To provide help in the preparation of an NCCPs and in cancer control to EU MSs 2. To enhance the availability of all the documents needed and provide best practices from other MSs. The development of an innovative tool was therefore the main objective of iPAAC Joint Action (JA). Streamlining of all NCCP-related documents prepared by the three JAs in cancer policy (EPAAC, CanCon, iPAAC) was central to the deliverables. Results The solution lied in the preparation of the interactive innovative tool called Roadmap on the Implementation and Sustainability of Cancer Control Actions (Roadmap). It was developed in a joint effort and collaboration between EU MSs and the European Commission. It is available online and can be used by all countries, including countries that are not part of EU, and who aim at preparing a high quality NCCP. The extensive content of the tool covers primary prevention, health promotion, screening, diagnosis, treatment, and health care, as well as a number of sub-areas with important contents, and over a hundred one-pagers, which include national and regional experiences. Among the latter, the European Guide for Quality NCCPs with instructions how to prepare a quality NCCP is presented as one pager. Lessons As the result of over 10 years of joint work in cancer control at EU level MSs have now both, the opportunity to learn from each other and the opportunity to access all key information they need for controlling cancer, including the instructions on the preparation of the key document, their NCCP. Key messages • Using the Roadmap countries have access to instructions and guidance for the preparation of a quality NCCP. • The Roadmap enables the access to all key documents for the management of cancer control in one place to all countries.

Living with COPD and its psychological effects on participating in community-based physical activity in Brazil: a qualitative study. Findings from the Breathe Well group

Physical activity (PA) improves dyspnoea, psychological wellbeing and quality of life (QoL) for people with COPD reducing their risk of exacerbation. However, engagement in PA is low especially amongst those with anxiety and depression, and PA programmes are limited in countries with limited resources such as Brazil. We explored perceptions of 21 people with COPD about the impact of their disease on taking part in community-based PA programmes in Sao Paulo, Brazil through semi-structured telephone interviews from October 2020 to April 2021. Discussions were audio-recorded, transcribed, and analysed using the Framework method. Five themes were identified: Knowledge about COPD and its management; Self-perception of life with COPD; Knowledge and experiences of depression and anxiety; Opinions on PA and repercussions of COVID-19. PA was considered to be important in bringing physical and mental health benefits but there were barriers in accessibility of formal PR programmes and therefore local community PA programmes were considered to be important. People with mental health conditions tended to view PA more negatively. COVID-19 had reduced PA opportunities, access to COPD treatment and social interaction, and was associated with more exacerbations and emotional suffering. In general, this study showed an urgent need to improve knowledge about COPD and its risk factors and management among both patients, the public and primary healthcare professionals. We provide important content for the formulation of public policies for the implementation of specific activity programmes for people with COPD in community spaces using local resources and intersectoral partnerships.

Exploration of Building Technology Education Mode in Higher Vocational Colleges

In the current educational environment, paying attention to the cultivation of students’ comprehensive quality, in order to enhance students’ spiritual realm and ideological level, has become an important content of education reform. This article takes the strengthening of students’ responsibility as the starting point, combined with the advanced education mode, aims to cultivate the correct values in the professional skills training of students and become professional engineering talents with exquisite technology and lofty morality. The research focuses on the training of students majoring in architectural engineering technology in higher vocational colleges, and explores the construction of core quality training models and vocational education professional training models, to enhance the comprehensive quality of students and cultivate compound talents with excellent academic achievements and good spiritual outlook. The implementation of these educational concepts provides solid support for the education quality of higher vocational colleges and the all-round development of students, promotes the role of higher vocational colleges in the new era, and is also an active attempt of engineering higher vocational colleges in improving the quality of education and comprehensively enhancing the quality of professional students.

The Analysis of the Characters of Wording for High School Classical Chinese

Classical Chinese carries the splendid culture of China. It is the important learning content for Chinese in high school. At the same time, the scoring rate is not good in the corresponding examination. Reading and comprehending classical Chinese in high school is the hardest part, especially for students who are not good at language learning. It is meaningful to analyze the characters of wording for classical Chinese. In this paper, NLP (Natural Language Processing) technology is applied to analyze the word usage for classical Chinese in high school. Firstly, ancient poems and literature in teaching materials in high school and classical Chinese exam questions of the past 15 years are collected. Secondly, raw data is preprocessed, cut words, and calculated word frequencies. Finally, top N words are generated and the experimental data is analyzed. According to the experimental results, the methods proposed in this paper can be used to analyze words for classical Chinese in high school. The Top N words are calculated and analyzed. It provides a good reference for high school students to learn classical Chinese.

Pharmacological and economical aspects of important species of Cordyceps sensu lato: A review.

Cordycepsis a well-known endo-parasitic fungus commonly used in traditional Chinese medicine for a long time. The demand for Cordyceps is increasing daily because it is commonly used as a nutritional food, medicine, and supplement owing to its natural source. It is very attractive in almost all countries with no side effects. Most Cordyceps species have been studied in China, Bhutan, India, Japan, South Korea, and Nepal. We have discussed the important contents of Cordyceps, dietary source and nutritional value of Cordyceps, multiple pharmacological properties of four important Cordyceps species, Ophiocordyceps sinensis, Cordyceps militaris, Cordyceps cicadae, and Cordyceps tenuipes, along with the economic status of Cordyceps and its benefits in terms of medicine, supplements, and the cosmetics industry. Owing to the high demand and several benefits of Cordyceps, it offers mysterious economic improvements in developed and underdeveloped countries. Therefore, more attention is required to save the endangered species of Cordyceps to fulfil the medicinal and nutritional demands worldwide.

The Exploration of Preschoolers' Development of Interpersonal Etiquette Behaviors

The interpersonal etiquette refers to the common behavior norms and moral principles that have been formed in human social interactions, which mainly consist of etiquette, politeness, ceremonies, and appearance. The behavior of interpersonal etiquette as an important content of preschool morality education is not only the concentrated expression of children's interpersonal ability and moral level development, but also the comprehensive representation of the moral and spiritual style of a nation in the future. The development of children's interpersonal etiquette behavior has the characteristics of stage, difference, and gradual progress. In order to promote the development of children's interpersonal etiquette behavior, kindergartens should establish a scientific preschool etiquette curriculum system, provide preschoolers with a prepared environment for etiquette behavior development, parents should establish a correct etiquette education concept and master scientific etiquette education methods, and society should vigorously promote the social atmosphere of respecting etiquette and culture, helping children internalize the behavior norms and social norms, enhancing their cognition of interpersonal rules, cultivating their awareness of civilized interpersonal communication, enhancing their ability of behavior self-discipline, and promoting the development of children's interpersonal etiquette behavior.

Development characteristics, problems and countermeasures of major scientific and technological infrastructures in the field of life sciences

The major science and technology infrastructure in the field of life science is an indispensable and important content in the large-science facility landscape. It encompasses cutting-edge, strategic, and fundamental aspects. This field differs from traditional facilities such as particle physics, astronomy and nuclear energy. Moreover, it represents a relatively underdeveloped area in China's facility landscape. Unique characteristics are observed in terms of capital investment, physical form, facility lifespan, digitization degree, organizational structure, project risk, and development effect when compared to traditional facilities. Despite its importance, challenges persist in project establishment, investment, management, and construction. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the condensing mechanism for addressing major scientific issues in the life science field, improve the strategic investment layout, facilitate the localization of technical equipment based on original scientific ideas, and strengthen the differentiated management capacity of life science facilities.

A Teaching Design of Ideological and Political Education in the College English Listening Curriculum Based on OBE Concept

Under the guidance and requirements of ideological work in colleges and universities in the new era, curriculum ideology and politics have always been a highly-valued part of political work and curriculum sublimation of the government. As an important content of higher education, college English listening courses should better effectively combine curriculum ideology and politics with teaching contents. This not only enriches the content of English listening teaching activities but also enables students to think deeply and form correct views on life values, moral values and worldviews. In the English teaching method, the OBE concept insists on being “student-centered,” which is a results-oriented education model. On the premise of combining the syllabus and teaching content, this paper designs and discusses the first chapter of unit 3 in the book “Over to You 2” from the aspects of the specific teaching process, the analysis of the OBE concept and the integration of curriculum ideological and political elements, to give inspiration and reference based on the concept of OBE.

Research on Random Forest Model and Support Vector Machine Model in Financial Risk Early Warning of Listed Companies

On October 30, 2023, the Central Financial Work Conference was held in Beijing. One of the important contents of the meeting was to prevent and control financial market risks. Because the sustainable development of a company is closely related to the financial market , the company faces increasing financial risk challenges , and it is particularly urgent to establish and optimize an effective financial risk early warning mechanism. The establishment of a financial crisis early warning model can not only enable company managers to adjust the company's development strategy and direction in a timely manner, improve the company's performance, and reduce the company's financial risks, but also predict corporate financial crises, which can help investors evaluate the company's potential value and change the direction of investment. This paper takes the establishment of random forest model as the starting point . First, we understand the theoretical framework of financial risk of listed companies; second, we explain the theoretical basis and advantages of establishing random forest model; then, we deeply explore the theory and empirical analysis of risk indicators; then, we use support vector machine in the specific application of financial risk warning; finally , we get the theoretical analysis and empirical significance of its feature importance, as well as the limitations and future research directions of the method under the fusion of random forest model and support vector machine.

An Exploration of Spoken English Strategies in Secondary Vocational Schools from the Perspective of Core Literacy

The core literacy of student development is an important content of promoting education reform and has an important effect on adapting the strategy of developing English talents in the future in our country. The cultivation of English core literacy depends on the innovation of teaching methods, the improvement of teachers' professional ability and the application of information technology, which is integrated into the training of listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. At present, the emphasis of English teaching is mainly placed on reading and writing, ignoring the cultivation of students' oral English, and students' awareness of oral communication is very weak, which is not conducive to the comprehensive development of students' core English literacy. English teachers should start from the concept of core literacy, develop targeted oral learning strategies for students, broaden the learning channels for students, and promote the improvement of students' oral English ability. This paper analyzes the present situation of oral English teaching and discusses the strategies to improve the oral English of secondary vocational students under the concept of core literacy.

Potential uses of silkworm pupae (Bombyx mori L.) in food, feed, and other industries: a systematic review.

The increasing pressures imposed on ecosystems by the growing needs of the human population are stimulus for research into innovative and unconventional sources of raw materials for different industries. This systematic review was carried out to investigate the available literature on the possible industrial uses of silkworm (Bombyx mori L.) pupae, a residue of silk production. The review was conducted using an adapted version of PRISMA. After a screening process, 105 articles were obtained and subjected to a detailed quantitative and qualitative analysis. It was found that in the last decade there has been a significant increase in the number of papers devoted to the study of the potential use of silkworm pupae in different applications, with a significantly higher number in the last three years of the scope of this review, indicating a growing interest in the subject. From the analysis of the information collected, promising uses in human and animal food, such as fish, mammalian, poultry, swine and companion animals, as well as potential uses for the pharmaceutical industry, were identified. The evaluated research identified compounds with antioxidant activity and important contents of unsaturated fatty acids, which are related to beneficial effects on cardiovascular health, diabetes control, reduction of the risk of developing certain types of cancer and inflammatory activity, among other benefits. One of the most relevant findings is that many studies report a significant concentration of α-linolenic acid in silkworm pupae oil, which is attributed with anticancer, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-obesity and neuroprotective properties, among others.

Research on aquatic biological signal recognition based on mode decomposition and deep learning

Abstract As an important research content in the field of marine biology and ecology, aquatic biological signal (ABS) recognition is of great significance for understanding marine ecosystems, protecting biodiversity, and monitoring environmental changes. To improve the recognition accuracy of ABS, this paper proposes a new ABS recognition method based on mode decomposition and deep learning. First, real ABS data were obtained from the public website, and some data were selected for the simulation experiment. Secondly, the signal is decomposed using improved variational mode decomposition by human evolutionary optimization algorithm (HEOA-VMD), and the decomposed intrinsic mode function (IMF) set is classified into low complexity and high complexity IMF using improved Lempel-Ziv complexity (ILZC) and reverse permutation entropy (RPE). Then, mutual information (MI) is used to select double eigenvectors from low and high complexity IMF, respectively, and recognition is performed based on the double eigenvectors using weighted-convolutional neural network (CNN)-bidirectional gate recurrent unit (BIGRU)-Attention model. Finally, the proposed ABS recognition method is applied to both chaotic and real signals, and additional proof of universality is performed using real signals. The result of the study shows that the accuracy of the proposed method for the recognition of chaotic and real signals is as high as 97.3% and 98.0%. In conclusion, the research on ABS recognition in this paper is successful and has a broad application prospect.

Codesign of a Quality Improvement Tool for Adults With Prolonged Critical Illness: A Modified Delphi Consensus Study.

Increasing numbers of patients experience a prolonged stay in intensive care. Yet existing quality improvement (QI) tools used to improve safety and standardize care are not designed for their specific needs. This may result in missed opportunities for care and contribute to worse outcomes. Following an experience-based codesign process, our objective was to build consensus on the most important actionable processes of care for inclusion in a QI tool for adults with prolonged critical illness. Items were identified from a previous systematic review and interviews with former patients, their care partners, and clinicians. Two rounds of an online modified Delphi survey were undertaken, and participants were asked to rate each item from 1 to 9 in terms of importance for effective care; where 1-3 was not important, 4-6 was important but not critical, and 7-9 was critically important for inclusion in the QI tool. A final consensus meeting was then moderated by an independent facilitator to further discuss and prioritize items. Carried out in the United Kingdom. Former patients who experienced a stay of over 7 days in intensive care, their family members and ICU staff. None. We recruited 116 participants: 63 healthcare professionals (54%), 45 patients (39%), and eight relatives (7%), to Delphi round 1, and retained 91 (78%) in round 2. Of the 39 items initially identified, 32 were voted "critically important" for inclusion in the QI tool by more than 70% of Delphi participants. These were prioritized further in a consensus meeting with 15 ICU clinicians, four former patients and one family member, and the final QI tool contains 25 items, including promoting patient and family involvement in decisions, providing continuity of care, and structured ventilator weaning and rehabilitation. Using experience-based codesign and rigorous consensus-building methods we identified important content for a QI tool for adults with prolonged critical illness. Work is underway to understand tool acceptability and optimum implementation strategies.

Teaching with Generative AI: moving forward with content creation

Generative AI is widely available and has raised the expectation that it will impact Education. Models, such as ChatGPT, can quickly produce plausible texts on a wide range of topics, and this capability may be of potential use in course content production. This paper selects several important course content production tasks, describes the prompts used, and assesses the quality of the automatically generated texts by a team of experts. Across all tasks, the Generative AI produced content that could help solve specific tasks by aiding with brainstorming, creating outlines, and adhering to particular writing guidance. In all cases, the content required adjustments and checking by human experts.

Preferences for Text Messaging Supports During Youth Transition to Adult Mental Health Services: Theory-Informed Modified e-Delphi Study.

For many young people, the transition from child to adult mental health services is a vulnerable time associated with treatment disengagement and illness progression. Providing service information and options to youth, appealing to them, and tailoring to their needs during this period could help overcome systematic barriers to a successful transition. We know little about how SMS text message-based interventions might be leveraged to support the motivational, informational, and behavioral needs of youth during this time. Ascertaining youth preferences for the content and functionality of an SMS text message service could inform prototype development. This study investigated consensus preferences among youth on important content, technology features, and engagement supports to inform a transition-focused SMS text message service. A modified e-Delphi survey design was used to collect demographics, current levels of technology use, importance ratings on message content, preferred technical features, and barriers and enablers to engagement for youth in Canada aged 16-26 years who have accessed mental health services within the past 5 years. Survey items on content were categorized according to the information-motivation-behavioral skills (IMB) model. Survey items on technical features were categorized according to the persuasive system design (PSD) model. A predefined consensus rating matrix and descriptive statistics were used to characterize the sample. The high consensus threshold was 70%. A total of 100 participants, predominantly non-White (n=47, 47%), aged 20-26 years (n=59, 59%), and who had first accessed mental health services between the ages of 13 and 19 years (n=60, 60%), were selected. The majority (n=90, 90%) identified as daily SMS text message users. A high level of consensus on importance ratings was reported in 45% (9/20) of content items based on the IMB model. There were higher levels of consensus on importance ratings related to behavior domain items (3/3, 100%) than information domain items (4/9, 44%) or motivation domain items (2/8, 25%). A high level of consensus on importance ratings was reported in only 19% (4/21) of feature and functionality items based on the PSD model. Among PSD model categories, there was a high level of consensus on importance ratings in 8% (1/12) of the primary task support domain items and 100% (3/3) of the system credibility support domain items. None of the dialogue-support and social-support domain items met the high level of consensus thresholds. In total, 27% (27/100) of youth indicated that the most significant enabler for engaging with a transition-focused SMS text message intervention was the personalization of text messages. Scientists developing next-generation SMS text messaging interventions for this population need to consider how levels of consensus on different features may impact feasibility and personalization efforts. Youth can (and should) play an integral role in the development of these interventions.

Teaching Disaster Nursing Competencies: Strategies to Succeed.

Disaster education for nurses at all levels is imperative to improve the ability for communities to be prepared to respond and recover from disasters and public health emergencies. A variety of educational strategies are available to deliver this vital content. A variety of strategies to deliver necessary disaster nursing education are discussed. The development of online disaster response modules for nurses at all levels from nursing student through advanced practice, delivered via a learning management system is described along with standard approaches to disaster content delivery. All methods of teaching disaster nursing competencies are valued. Through the effective online approach, nurses can receive disaster management training at the time and location that is most comfortable and convenient for them, thus increasing the potential to train more nurses in this important content area. Development of an mHealth App by Experts for Queer Individuals' Sexual-Reproductive Health Care Services and Needs: Nominal Group Technique Study.

Queer individuals continue to be marginalized in South Africa; they experience various health care challenges (eg, stigma, discrimination, prejudice, harassment, and humiliation), mental health issues (eg, suicide and depression), and an increased spread of HIV or AIDS and sexually transmitted illnesses (STIs; chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis). Mobile health (mHealth) apps have the potential to resolve the health care deficits experienced by health care providers when managing queer individuals and by queer individuals when accessing sexual-reproductive health care services and needs, thus ensuring inclusivity and the promotion of health and well-being. Studies have proven that the nominal group technique (NGT) could be used to solve different social and health problems and develop innovative solutions. This technique ensures that different voices are represented during decision-making processes and leads to robust results. This study aims to identify important contents to include in the development of an mHealth app for addressing the sexual-reproductive health care services and needs of queer individuals. We invited a group of 13 experts from different fields, such as researchers, queer activists, sexual and reproductive health experts, private practicing health care providers, innovators, and private health care stakeholders, to take part in a face-to-face NGT. The NGT was conducted in the form of a workshop with 1 moderator, 2 research assistants, and 1 principal investigator. The workshop lasted approximately 2 hours 46 minutes and 55 seconds. We followed and applied 5 NGT steps in the workshop for experts to reach consensus. The main question that experts were expected to answer was as follows: Which content should be included in the mHealth app for addressing sexual-reproductive health care services and needs for queer individuals? This question was guided by user demographics and background, health education and information, privacy and security, accessibility and inclusivity, functionality and menu options, personalization and user engagement, service integration and partnerships, feedback and improvement, cultural sensitivity and ethical considerations, legal and regulatory compliance, and connectivity and data use. Overall, experts voted and ranked the following main icons: menu options (66 points), privacy and security (39 points), user engagement (27 points), information hub (26 points), user demographics (20 points), connectivity (16 points), service integration and partnerships (10 points), functionalities (10 points), and accessibility and inclusivity (7 points). Conducting an NGT with experts from different fields, possessing vast skill sets, knowledge, and expertise, enabled us to obtain targeted data on the development of an mHealth app to address sexual-reproductive health care services and needs for queer individuals. This approach emphasized the usefulness of a multidisciplinary perspective to inform the development of our mHealth app and demonstrated the future need for continuity in using this approach for other digital health care innovations and interventions.

A multiscale dilated attention network for hyperspectral image classification

Hyperspectral imaging is an image obtained by combining spectral detection technology and imaging technology, which can collect electromagnetic spectra in the wavelength range of visible light to near-infrared. It is an important research content in the field of ground observation in hyperspectral remote sensing. However, hyperspectral image face significant challenges in classification task due to their high spectral dimensions, lack of labeled samples, and strong correlation between bands. In order to fully extract features from both spectral and spatial dimensions and improve classification accuracy in the case of limited training samples, a multiscale dilated attention network is proposed for hyperspectral image classification. First, a three-dimensional convolutional layer is used to extract the shallow features of the image. Then, a multiscale dilated attention module is proposed by combining dilated convolution and channel attention. Using ordinary convolution and dilated convolution to form different receptive fields. Channel attention is used to remodel the obtained multiscale features, enhancing the inter-channel correlation. After that, a multiscale spatial-spectral attention module is constructed using multiple asymmetric convolutions to obtain spatial and spectral attention features at different positions, further enhancing important feature suppression over non-important features. Finally, using softmax to classify the obtained features. Using Indian Pines, Pavia University, KSC and University of Houston as experimental datasets, the overall classification accuracy of this paper’s method achieved 98.97%, 99.14%, 99.45%, and 98.56% respectively, using only 5%, 1%, 10%, and 10% of training samples per class. Compared with seven advanced classification methods, the experimental results show that the proposed method can achieve the highest classification accuracy with limited training samples.
