The aim of this work is twofold: on the one hand, to analyse the figure of cultural landscape in the contemporary context of cultural heritage, and on the other hand, to reflect on the case that we call Almadrabero cultural landscape. The recognition of cultural goods as cultural landscape began twenty-five years ago from UNESCO. However, even today there is no international charter on cultural landscapes, so we find multiple disagreements to identify, analyze and implement management plans such as tourism. This article describes the values of the potential cultural landscape on the coast of Cadiz, where the historical fishing activity of the traps is an extraordinarily significant manifestation, including the social agents linked to this area, the actions already carried out or the impacts of the potential recognition on tourism, the local population and the relationship of their quality of life with the preservation and management of the values of the landscape.
