Challenges Encountered by BSEd-Mathematics Students in the Implementation of Hybrid Learning in Gordon College

The study examines the challenges faced by Bachelor in Secondary Education Major in Mathematics students at Gordon College in implementing hybrid learning for the academic year 2022-2023. The research involved 73 students, primarily in their first year, and found that online students face difficulties with math symbol encoding, connectivity, time management, and financial constraints. Onsite students face learning gaps, commuting and access issues, and require additional financial support. The study found no significant difference in challenges based on profile-variables in online mode, but differences exist based on year level and municipality. Recommendations include enhanced technical support, online tool training, time and stress management programs, financial assistance for low-income students, and improved accessibility in onsite mode.

Boosting Grade 2A Islamic Elementary Students' Motivation via Hybrid Learning at Sari Bumi Sidoarjo

This study investigates the impact of hybrid learning on student motivation, focusing on class 2A students across varying levels of academic achievement. Employing a qualitative approach with a phenomenological lens, data was gathered through observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. Validity was ensured through technical triangulation. The findings reveal a significant increase in student motivation following the implementation of hybrid learning. Students demonstrated heightened enthusiasm, attentiveness, earnestness, and active engagement in discussions and internet-based research. These results underscore the potential of hybrid learning to enhance student motivation, thus suggesting its relevance for contemporary educational practices. Investigating the Influence of Hybrid and Independent Learning on Student Learning Outcomes in European History Courses

The importance of implementing a hybrid learning model that combines face-to-face teaching with online computer-assisted teaching to create an integrated learning approach and student learning independence. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of hybrid and independent learning on student learning outcomes in European History courses. This study adopts a quantitative method and a quasi-experimental design. In collecting data the researchers used multiple-choice test techniques and questionnaires to examine students’ learning independence. The data analysis technique used is the Two-way ANOVA statistical test. The results of the study showed that there was an increase in student history learning outcomes for European history courses with "moderate" criteria with a score of 0.54 (0.3 N-Gain ≤0.7) after the implementation of hybrid learning. Hybrid learning has an effect on student learning outcomes in history education with a sig model value of 0.002, where the value is less than 0.05 (0.002 0.05). Independent learning has an impact on student learning outcomes with a sig questionnaire value of 0.042 where the value is less than 0.05 (0.042 0.05). In conclusion, in European history courses offered the learning model and learning independence has an impact on students' learning outcomes.

Development of a hybrid teaching factory model based on school governance in improving employability skills of vocational students

This research aims to develop a framework for a hybrid teaching factory model that combines face-to-face and online learning with information and communication technology to improve employability skills in the new normal era. The research method uses the ADDIE Research and Development model, which consists of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research was conducted in several vocational high schools in DKI Jakarta Region, Indonesia. The findings in the research prove that the implementation of hybrid learning has an impact on students and teachers. Hybrid learning teaching factory is proven to be able to overcome frustrations and limitations between teachers and students in the learning process through online facilities, making teaching factory learning more innovative because there are variations of learning to interact and discuss, and making the classroom atmosphere conducive because students become happy and active in learning and skilled in working. The success of a hybrid teaching factory is considered mutually beneficial for both students and teachers who complete one of the teaching factory learning curriculums while industry instructors develop and work on collaborative platforms that provide useful services such as augmented reality and virtual reality-based applications.

Context input process product evaluation of hybrid learning practices in Indonesian universities

<span lang="EN-US">The transformation of post-pandemic learning at Indonesian universities is becoming increasingly diverse. Several universities use hybrid learning models to implement hybrid learning practices. The purpose of this study is to assess the hybrid learning process at two Indonesian universities. The context input process product (CIPP) evaluation model is used in this study as part of a mixed method. Quantitative methods are used to get an overview of student and lecturer responses, whereas qualitative methods are used to dig deeper into data about hybrid learning practices. This study included 341 students and 22 lecturers from both universities. Techniques for collecting data include questionnaires, interviews, observation, and documentation studies. The data was analyzed using learning theories. The study’s findings indicate that hybrid learning practices are performing well. The readiness of university infrastructure, as well as the readiness of students and lecturers, determines the success of hybrid learning implementation. In practice, however, some lecturers tend to use face-to-face or online learning practices exclusively to fill gaps in the hybrid learning process. This study suggests that universities investigate an effective model for implementing hybrid learning.</span>

Opportunities and Challenges of Hybrid Learning in Higher Education in Terms of Student’s Digital Literacy Capabilities

The research aims to analyze the map of students' digital literacy capabilities as opportunities and challenges in implementing hybrid learning. The research uses a survey method with descriptive analysis. The sample was 35 Mathematics Education students, FMIPA, Indraprasta PGRI University, taken using a purposive sampling technique. The research results showed 82.83% digital literacy skills, with the largest percentage being the ability to use technology, namely 30.0% and information and data literacy skills at 21.83%, communication skills at 12.68%, critical thinking at 12.20%, and digital security (e-safety) capabilities of 11.74%. These results show that students' digital literacy skills are still not evenly distributed in every dimension, where the ability to use technology and information and data literacy is quite good, while communication, critical thinking and digital security skills are still lacking. The implementation of hybrid learning is still in the transition stage, namely the ability to utilize technology, literacy and data information. Thus, based on the map of students' digital literacy abilities, it can be concluded that students' digital literacy abilities need to be improved to answer the opportunities and challenges of implementing hybrid learning.

The Implementation of Hybrid Learning at Islamic University of Nahdlatul Ulama (UNISNU) Jepara

Islamic University of Nahdlatul Ulama (UNISNU) Jepara has been implementing hybrid learning which combines face-to-face and online learning for several years. This research investigated how hybrid learning is implemented in teaching and learning and how the facility is provided by institution to support the success of the hybrid learning implementation at UNISNU Jepara. Discriptive qualitative method is used in this reserch involving respondents of 18 head study programs and 180 students to collect data needed in this research. Survey, interview and FGD were used as instruments to collect the data. The result of the research revealed that the implementation of hybrid learning at all study programs at UNISNU Jepara has not run successfully and the factors causing this was the lack of preparedness of the lecturers and the support system provided by instution has not fully met the requirements as the success factors of hybrid learning implementation.

Integrating Hybrid Learning and Team-Based Project in EFL Writing Class

This study aimed to describe the integration of hybrid learning and team-based projects in learning to write and to explain the effectiveness of implementing hybrid and team-based projects in improving students' writing performances. This research method was mixed with quantitative analysis using quasi-experiments and questionnaires, while qualitative analysis used observations in writing classes. The instruments applied were writing tests, questionnaires, and observations. The results of this study were feasible to be used and tested in a small-scale class in the third semester of English Education at the Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang. The average result of the validation is more than four scores, so it is in the excellent category. Meanwhile, the results of the analysis of student perspectives on learning through Team-Based Projects are divided into four, namely; student perspectives and motivation regarding the implementation of hybrid learning, student perspectives on the effectiveness of Team-Based Projects, student perceptions of independent learning through team-based projects and hybrid learning, and student perceptions about working in groups. All of the indicators were categorized as excellent. In addition, the integration of hybrid learning and team-based project in the English Language Education Study Program with the participation of seventy-two students with the final grades of all students being in the complete category above seventy so that the integration of hybrid learning and team-based projects is effectively implemented in genre text writing classes. Therefore, the results of this study can make a good contribution because they can motivate students to write texts and improve independent student learning.

HYBRID LEARNING IN SELECTED JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL: IS IT A SOLUTION FOR EFL LEARNING LOSS?

The use of hybrid learning in junior high school English as a Foreign Language classes can be a combination of teaching and learning strategies and a remedy for learning loss. Since MO365 is an application for the online final tests in 2020 without hybrid learning and in 2021 with hybrid learning, where the teacher uses hybrid learning that she uses online and limited offline learning, this paper aims to explore the implementation of hybrid learning in English final tests. It focuses on the similarities and differences in responses of two final tests in junior high school in second grade using MO365. The study's findings can be summarized as follows; (1) To get different results on the two final online English tests in MO365, which are 68, 4 without hybrid learning, and 90.1, with hybrid learning. (2) In 2020 without hybrid learning, eighth-grade students experience learning loss due to the Covid 19 Pandemic, whereas students in the same grade in 2021 with hybrid learning achieve better scores 90.1 than those in the same grade in 2020 without hybrid learning 68.4 because their school only offers a small amount of offline learning. This study can be utilized as a guide and a solution by teachers to enhance hybrid learning, which will help students learn the subject more easily and more conveniently by integrating online and offline learning. Afghan undergraduate students’ perceptions toward e-learning

E-learning provides teachers and students with great opportunities and benefits, by enhancing teaching and learning experiences. Although e-learning is widely adopted in educational systems, some countries still use traditional teaching methods with limited use of technology as a medium of teaching and learning. This study investigates the perceptions of Afghan EFL undergraduate students toward e-learning at a public university in Afghanistan. Few studies have investigated the use of e-learning in tertiary-level education in Afghanistan, indicating the need to understand the perceptions of undergraduate students toward it. Students who were the primary beneficiaries of e-learning were included. This quantitative study was conducted in the form of a survey using data gathered via questionnaires. In total, 140 randomly selected respondents participated in the survey. The key finding of this study was that e-learning is perceived to be useful in higher education. However, it was also realized that electronic education is not only expensive but also require strong Information and Communication Technology skills. Additionally, more than half the participants preferred hybrid learning, a combination of online and face-to-face learning methods. The Chi-square test results indicated a significant association between gender and the perceived ease of use of e-learning, whereby a large proportion of males perceived e-learning as user-friendly in education, but females disagreed. However, the Mann-Whitney U test results showed that there were no statistically significant differences between freshman students and senior students’ attitudes toward e-learning. These findings contribute to the field of tertiary-level education regarding the usefulness and flexibility of e-learning. As most participants favored hybrid learning, the implementation of hybrid learning was recommended. These results have significant implications for higher education institutions that use e-learning for teaching and learning. The conclusions of this study might not be generalizable to all universities in Afghanistan; however, to some extent, are reflective of the situation in other universities.

Implementation of Hybrid Learning to Maintain the Quality of Learning in Fostered MTs During the Covid-19 Pandemic

During the Covid-19 pandemic, the education sector was also greatly affected, because in order to stop the spread of this corona all students and teachers studied from home, which was suddenly carried out without any preparation at all. The unpreparedness of all elements in education is a big obstacle, changing the way of teaching and learning from face to face or offline (outside the network) to online (in the network) requires readiness from all elements, starting from the government, madrasas, teachers, students and parents. The government relaxed the education assessment system according to emergencies as long as learning can continue without having to be burdened with achieving competence. Many teachers teach by utilizing existing technology. The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of the implementation of learning strategies through the collaboration of WAG (Whatsapp Group) and Offline during the Covid-19 pandemic emergency. This research is divided into two stages, each stage has different characteristics from one another. From data collection, data analysis, and discussion results, it is known that the implementation of learning strategies through WAG (Whatsapp Group) collaboration and offline was carried out to maintain the quality of the teaching and learning process during the Covid-19 Pandemic at MTs assisted by Malang Regency. The implementation of Cycle I focused on the necessary administrative preparations while the implementation of Cycle II focused on formulating decrees on the administration of learning activities, circulars for meetings with parents/guardians of students to socialize the WAG (Whatsapp Group) and offline collaboration models.

TPACK-based hybrid learning model design for computational thinking skills achievement in mathematics

Hybrid learning implementation is closely related with technology. In designing hybrid lessons, lecturers need to have both the pedagogical and content-related skills that make the best use of technology so that it also improves the students’ skills, including their computational thinking skills. The purpose of this research is to examine whether a hybrid learning model based on Technology Pedagogy and Content Knowledge (TPACK) affects the computational thinking skills achievement in a valid, practical, and effective manner. This research is development research using the Plomp’s model and is described in a qualitative descriptive manner. The participants were lecturers and 38 first-year students at Primary School Teacher Education Study Program of Padang State University. The instruments were validation sheets, practicality assessment sheets by lecturers, questionnaire sheets for students, and computational thinking skills test questions. The results of the validity test show that in terms of content, language, and e-learning practice, they all met very valid criteria with an average percentage score of 85.9%, 86.2%, and 84.1%, respectively. The practicality test results of model handbooks, Semester Lesson Plans, Lecture Program Units, computational thinking questions, additional material, and e-learning model meet the practical criteria with an average percentage score of 77.5%, 86.8%, 89.1%, 83.8%, 79%, and 82.4%, respectively. The average percentage of student assessment scores is 82.9% and meets the practical criteria. The results of the effectiveness test showed that 21.9% of students had reached the moderate level, 6.3% reached the low level, and 71.9% reached the very low level. This study recommends future researchers to develop a hybrid learning model based on TPACK to achieve other 21st-century abilities.

Hybrid Learning on Pencak Silat Sport in Higher Education: Students’ Perception and Issues

This study aimed to evaluate the implementation of hybrid learning in sports education, especially in Pencak Silat sport at Mpu Kuturan State College Singaraja. The data was collected using a questionnaire, interview, and observation. The questionnaire results were analyzed quantitatively to determine students' perceptions of implementing hybrid learning. While the interview and observation results were analyzed qualitatively to identify the challenges during the hybrid learning implementation. This study found that students' perceptions were very positive and challenges in this hybrid learning were balancing between offline and online activities, participating in face-to-face learning activities, getting reliable internet connection and technological devices.

Hybrid learning trends in higher education post pandemic Covid 19: Scientometric mapping

The study aimed to identify the keywords, authors, institutions and countries that were most influential in the implementation of hybrid learning in higher education during the Covid 19 pandemic, and to see future research trends related to the post-Covid 19 pandemic. This research uses bibliometric approach. The data collected is sourced from the Scopus database, starting from 2020 to 2022. Using ALL search ("hybrid learning" AND "higher education"), and obtained 1,110 research documents. Document sources came from 783 journal documents, 214 conference proceeding documents, 59 document book series, and 54 document books. The research results explained that seven sub-fields of research keywords were obtained, with the top 7 keywords namely students, e-learning, hybrid learning, covid-19, higher education, blended learning, teaching, learning systems, online learning. With the theme of this research consists of 3,132 authors, and produces 19 networks of collaborative writers. There is a network of 105 countries, and the top 7 countries are United States, China, Spain, United Kingdom, Australia, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Norway, Netherlands and Pakistan. The documents were also obtained by 2,212 organizations and 71 research organization networks, as well as 174 interconnected journals.

Implementation of Hybrid Learning and Its Impacts at A Public Junior School in Indonesia

The pandemic of COVID-19 has made several change to the learning process in Indonesia. Because of the less effective online learning, the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture creates new policies by allowing offline learning, but with a limited system or hybrid learning. The purpose of this study was to find out how the implementation of hybrid learning in schools, where placed at a Public Junior School in Indonesia. The type of this research is a qualitative research using interview and observation techniques involving the Principal, Deputy Principal for Curriculum, English Teachers, Social Sciences Teachers, and Science Teachers. The data obtained will be analyzed with Miles and Huberman technique. This implementation has several stages, namely the preparation/planning, the implementation, and the evaluation. During this pandemic, online and hybrid learning process has had a big impact. The positive impact is to make teachers more literate towards digital technology which makes them more creative and innovative in choosing learning media platforms, and student’s skills were improve in using technology.

Students' Perception on the Implementation of English Hybrid Classes in Islamic University and National University in Indonesia

Various virtual learning environments have been implemented during the emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic. Hybrid learning is a virtual learning environment in which half of the students attend the class physically while others join virtually. This model was adopted by students in two different universities in Central Java, namely Jenderal Soedirman University (Unsoed) and State Islamic University of Prof. K.H. Saifuddin Zuhri (UIN Saizu) Purwokerto. The purpose of this study is to investigate the students’ perceptions of hybrid learning in two different universities as well as to find out the challenges during the implementation of hybrid learning. There were 88 participants taken as subjects from both universities. This study was a qualitative method that used observation and questionnaires to collect data from participants. The result shows that the students have positive perceptions during hybrid learning that could affect their performance. The positive perception was hybrid classes provided flexible time, upgraded technology mastery, and built social interaction with others. Moreover, this study also found some obstacles such as technical issues and students’ surroundings or environment that have been affecting their performance.

Hybrid Learning After the Covid-19 Pandemic at Universitas Quality

This study aims to determine the application of hybrid learnig after the COVID-19 pandemic at Universitas Quality. Research is descriptive research. Data collection techniques are carried out by interview and questionnaire methods. The results of this study show that with the implementation of Hybrid Learning, students have succeeded in achieving learning objectives, the level of participation of students and lecturers in category learning is very high and the supporting facilities for the learning system with Hybrid Learning are adequate. Thus, the application of Hybrid Learning post COVID-19 in Universitas Quality is considered effective.

Students’ Perception of Learning English Through Hybrid Learning (Online and Offline)

This research aims to: find out students’ perceptions of learning English through hybrid learning (online and offline), find out the difficulties of learning English through hybrid learning, and find out the positive impacts of learning English through hybrid learning according to high school students in Mataram. This research is a survey research that used quantitative descriptive method. 43 students of SMA Negeri 3 Mataram participated in this research. To collect data, questionnaires that consisted of close-ended questionnaire and open-ended questionnaire and interviews were used. The results of the study show that the positive impacts of learning English through hybrid learning are: (1) having a conducive classroom environment when learning English through hybrid learning, and (2) feeling comfortable since they can access the material anytime and anywhere. However, the students opined some difficulties in learning English through hybrid learning that included: (1) having difficulty in understanding the materials due to the unstable internet connection/signal, (2) having difficulty to express the ideas, and (3) having difficulty to participate in a more active, collaborative and communicative class discussion. The students’ perceptions toward the implemention of hybrid learning in learning English split into 3 categories: supportive, not supportive, and neutral perceptions. The total weight of each category in the questionnaires are “strongly agree” 8.7%, “agree” 25.1%, “neutral” 37.5%, “disagree” 20.1%, and “strongly disagree” 8.7%. The group of students that chose “neutral’ answers scores the biggest with 37.5% of the total students, followed by the groups of students that oppose or do not support the implementation of hybrid learning that comprises 33.8% or one third of the total students. The bottom position is seated by the group of students that propose or support the implementation of hybrid learning in learning English with 28.8% or less than one third of the total students. Thus, it can be concluded that the more students have neutral position towards the use of HL in learning English.

Effectiveness of Hybrid Learning Assisted in e-Learning Media in Mathematics Learning at Elementary School

This study describes the effectiveness of hybrid learning using e-learning media during the Covid-19 pandemic, especially in mathematics. This research is descriptive quantitative research using a survey method, focusing on learning evaluation using e-learning media. The research population was all students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Miftahul Huda Pedaganga Tiris Probolinggo who were taught mathematics using hybrid learning methods. The research sample is the sixth-grade students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Miftahul Huda Pedaganga Tiris Probolinggo who were selected using a simple random sampling technique considering the homogeneity of the population. The data collection instrument used a hybrid learning questionnaire. Data analysis used descriptive statistics. The results of the study describe students assessing mathematics learning using e-learning media as very effective. Although there are also students who consider hybrid learning ineffective, absolutely no one considers it very ineffective. Based on the results of the analysis and research findings regarding the effectiveness of the implementation of hybrid learning using e-learning madrasah in mathematics subjects, it shows that learning using e-learning madrasah is quite effective to implement. This is because many parties support this learning, but several factors can hinder learning, so it must be considered so that learning can run smoothly.

NARRATIVE INQUIRY; PERSPECTIVE OF LECTURERS AND STUDENTS IN IMPLEMENTING HYBRID LEARNING PROCESS IN THE NEW NORMAL ERA

This research aims to investigate the implementation of hybrid learning in the perspective of lecturers and students. This research examines the experiences of English lecturers and students in implementing hybrid learning during the new normal era. To capture the teacher's story, an inquiry narrative was adopted. The research data collected based on interview guidelines and presented through narrative frames and narrative boxes. The results indicate that lecturers teach English in hybrid learning by applying different online platforms. Then the campus was focused on using virtual classrooms and WhatsApp as the main platforms in online classes because they had been linked to the campus. In addition, the learning process, internet connectivity, awareness of students' self-study, and learning scheduling are obstacles in applying hybrid learning in the new normal.
