Digital Health Technology on Patient Recovery and Nurse Performance in Indonesia

This study investigates the impact of digital health technology, nurse competence, patient safety protocols, and organizational support on patient recovery and nurse performance within the Indonesian healthcare sector. Utilizing a quantitative approach, data were collected from 120 healthcare professionals through structured questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS 3). The findings reveal that digital health technology, nurse competence, and patient safety protocols positively influence patient recovery, while organizational support and digital health technology significantly enhance nurse performance. Organizational support and patient safety protocols emerged as the strongest predictors of nurse performance and patient recovery, respectively. These results suggest that a comprehensive approach integrating technological, safety, and support factors can substantially improve healthcare outcomes. This study offers practical recommendations for healthcare administrators and policymakers to enhance healthcare quality through strategic investments in digital tools, training, safety protocols, and supportive work environments.

Feasibility Study of Snail Farming in Indonesia

This study evaluates the economic feasibility of snail cultivation in Indonesia by analyzing the impact of market demand, cultivation technology, and environmental conditions. A quantitative approach was employed, surveying 150 respondents using a Likert scale (1-5), with data analyzed via SPSS version 26. The results reveal that market demand is the most significant factor influencing economic feasibility, followed by cultivation technology and environmental conditions. All three variables positively and significantly affect the viability of snail farming. These findings suggest that increasing market demand, adopting modern farming technologies, and maintaining favorable environmental conditions are essential for promoting snail cultivation in Indonesia. This study provides valuable insights for policymakers, investors, and farmers interested in developing snail farming as a sustainable agricultural business.

Outcome-Based Use of Simulation in Agricultural Sciences: A Systematic Literature Review

Technology is increasingly being integrated into classrooms worldwide to enhance learning outcomes, and simulation technologies are becoming more popular to create realistic scenarios in controlled academic settings. However, simulation studies in agricultural education have been limited, making it difficult to assess the impact of simulation technologies on student learning. To address this literature gap, a systematic literature review of 17 articles was conducted to examine the use of simulation technology in agricultural education. The analysis revealed that simulation technologies were most used in agricultural science sub-disciplines that involve experimentation and practical application. Most studies focused on undergraduates and utilized quantitative research methods, with virtual and augmented reality being the most commonly employed types of simulation. Positive effects of simulation on learning outcomes were reported in most studies, including improved academic achievement, psychological factors such as anxiety, and tracking students’ progress. However, the technology's time-consuming nature and potential for uncomfortable physical conditions like cybersickness were identified as demerits. More rigorous standards were recommended to improve reporting procedures in agricultural education studies with simulation technologies.

Impact of Digital Technologies on Organizational Change Strategies: A Review

This study aims to evaluate the impact of digital technologies on organizational change strategies, identifying how digital transformation influences organizational behavior, decision-making, and performance outcomes. By conducting a systematic review of existing literature from a range of industries and geographical regions, this research consolidates evidence on the roles of digital tools such as artificial intelligence, big data analytics, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things in shaping organizational change. The methodology involved a comprehensive search and analysis of peer-reviewed journals, conference papers, and industry reports published in the last decade. The selected sources underwent qualitative synthesis to discern common themes, trends, and effects related to digital technologies on change management strategies. Findings indicate that digital technologies significantly drive both the pace and nature of organizational change. These technologies facilitate more agile and data-driven decision-making, enabling organizations to rapidly respond to market disruptions and emerging opportunities. Additionally, digital tools enhance communication and collaboration across departments, streamline operations, and foster innovation. In conclusion, the integration of digital technologies into organizational change strategies leads to enhanced efficiency, competitiveness, and adaptability. However, successful implementation requires addressing challenges such as skills gaps, digital divide, and resistance to change. The implications of these findings suggest that organizations should invest in continuous digital upskilling, robust digital infrastructure, and inclusive change management practices to fully leverage the benefits of digital transformation.

Evaluating the Impact of Pre-Fermentative and Post-Fermentative Vinification Technologies on Bioactive Compounds and Antioxidant Activity of Teran Red Wine By-Products.

This study aimed to evaluate bioactive properties of Teran red wine by-products (grape skins, seeds, and wine lees) from six vinification treatments, including a control (7-day standard maceration). Pre-fermentative cryomaceration (8 °C; 48 h) and hot maceration (50 °C; 48 h), followed by the 13-day (CS15; C15; H15) and 28-day (C30; H30) period, considering fermentation/maceration and extended post-fermentative maceration, were conducted. In CS15, the saignée procedure was applied before fermentation/maceration. After maceration, the separation of by-products was performed, followed by lyophilization and solid-liquid extraction. Then, individual phenols were analyzed using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), and total phenolic content (TPC) and antioxidant activity (FRAP) were analyzed using UV/Vis spectrophotometry. The results showed grape skins and wine lees in all treatments had significantly increased TPC and FRAP values compared to the control. The highest concentration of total phenols (HPLC) in grape skins was found in CS15, at 978.54 mg/100 g DW. In wine lees, the highest concentration of total phenols was detected in the 30-day maceration treatments, at 582.04 mg/100 g DW in C30, and 595.83 mg/100 g DW in H30, despite the pre-fermentative procedure. In grape seeds, the highest concentration of total phenols was found in the control (K7), at 432.42 mg/100 g DW. Pre-fermentative heating together with extended 30-day maceration (H30) strongly reduced the total levels of phenols (HPLC and TPC) in grape seed samples. The findings implied an evident impact of pre- and post-fermentative technologies on phenols and antioxidant activity in wine by-products of cv. Teran (Vitis vinifera L.).

Strategy for Supervision of Islamic Religious Education in the Era of Information Technology Iin Banggai Regency

The impact of information technology has permeated various aspects of human life, including social, cultural, economic, political, and even educational elements. The education sector, influenced by technology, significantly affects the quality of education, including Islamic Education, where one crucial element is the presence of Islamic Education Supervisors. The role and responsibilities of Islamic Education Supervisors are to enhance the quality of Islamic Education and to exhibit adequate professionalism. Therefore, this study addresses the professionalism of Islamic Education Supervisors and the implementation of information technology in the duties of Islamic Education supervision in Banggai Regency. This study uses a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques include direct observation, in-depth interviews, and written document analysis. Data was analyzed using three stages: data reduction, presentation, and verification. This study found that the professionalism of Islamic Education supervision in the era of information technology in Banggai Regency is outstanding. This is proven by the research findings, which show that supervisors consistently carry out their duties despite many challenges and obstacles. The extensive supervisory area, the large number of supervised teachers, and the need for more supervisors present real challenges in performing their duties professionally. On the other hand, Islamic Education Supervisors still need to improve in aspects of information technology and discipline. Other findings indicate that in performing their supervisory duties, Islamic Education Supervisors in Banggai Regency use information technology in various strategies and methods.

Contribution of 3D virtual modeling in locating hepatic metastases, particularly “vanishing tumors”: a pilot study

Aim: This article aims to explore how three dimensions (3D) virtual modeling enhances accuracy and efficiency in detecting hepatic metastases, with a specific focus on “vanishing tumors” that are difficult to detect using traditional imaging techniques. It also aims to demonstrate the potential impact of these advanced technologies on improving diagnostic and treatment strategies for patients with liver cancer. Methods: Eight patients with liver metastases from colorectal cancer were studied using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and 3D virtual modeling to enhance surgical planning by accurately locating lesions. The concordance between these imaging techniques and the Gold Standard was assessed using Gwet’s AC1 coefficient, with statistical analysis performed through resampling methods and non-parametric tests due to non-normal AC1 distribution. Liver segmentation was conducted semi-automatically using SurgiPrint software, which is crucial for detecting lesions undetectable post-chemotherapy. The study’s evaluation model involved questionnaires for medical professionals across four cohorts, aiming to determine the 3D model’s effectiveness in identifying lesion locations for surgery. Results: This study investigated the efficacy of 3D virtual modeling in identifying hepatic metastases, particularly comparing its accuracy with traditional MRI in locating lesions. The findings indicate that MRI generally provided better concordance with the Gold Standard for lesion localization, except for a few experienced users who had prior familiarity with the 3D models. Despite the mixed results in accuracy, the study suggests potential benefits of 3D modeling in enhancing surgical planning and execution, particularly in detecting “vanishing” liver metastases that are difficult to visualize with standard imaging techniques. The research aligns with broader evidence indicating the utility of 3D models in improving outcomes in hepatic surgery by enabling more precise resections and reducing postoperative complications. However, the study also notes the challenge of quantifying the added value of 3D modeling due to the unique nature of each surgical case and the potential bias in the user experience with the technology. Conclusion: The conclusion of this study underscores the significant potential of 3D virtual modeling in enhancing the precision of locating and resecting hepatic metastases, particularly those elusive “vanishing tumors”. This research underscores the value of integrating advanced 3D imaging techniques into surgical practice, suggesting a paradigm shift toward more accurate and less invasive liver surgeries. Future studies should aim to further quantify the benefits of 3D modeling in surgical outcomes, investigate its utility across different surgical experiences, and explore the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) to maximize its effectiveness in clinical settings.

The impact of information and communication technologies on international trade: A case of Sub-Saharan Africa

The aim of this research is to analyze the effect of information and communication technologies (ICT) on the bilateral trade flows of the countries of Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). We use the method of generalized least squares (GLS) panel to correct for correlation and heteroskedasticity problems. We have employed the gravity model extended to ICT to examine the effects of key ICT indicators on bilateral exports and imports. The sample includes 44 African countries of the subcontinent, including 43 countries as partners (importers/exporters) and one reporter country (exporter/importer) and covers the period 2010 to 2019. The results show that access to mobile telephony and the internet, as well as the development of e-commerce, have a great potential for improving intra-African bilateral trade and that the effect of ICT is not unequivocal according to the category of flow considered. However, it emerges from these results that the development of ICT as it is today has not yet succeeded in overturning the argument of physical distance as a barrier to trade in sub-Saharan Africa. The key conclusion is that the establishment of better-quality ICT services and infrastructure is more critical to intra-African trade. African policymakers should accommodate sufficient support to establish the ICT infrastructure and expand ICT penetration by reducing the costs of communication, transactions and access to ICT.

Voice Search Technology and Consumer Buying Behaviour of Smart Phones in Port Harcourt

This study investigated the relationship between voice search technology and consumer buying behaviour of smartphones in Port Harcourt. Specifically, the objectives of the study were to determine how voice recognition accuracy and user experience relates to routine and impulse purchase behaviour of smartphones in Port Harcourt. The population of this study comprised of twenty-two registered mobile phone dealers in Port Harcourt. The census approach was adopted to choose the respondents for this study. To generate data for the study, researcher purposively distributed the copies of questionnaire in the frame of three (3) copies to each mobile phone firm. A total of sixty-six (66) respondents were used as the study subjects, however only fifty-eight (58) respondents provided data for the analysis. From results of the analysis it was revealed that voice recognition accuracy and user experience which are the dimensions of voice search technology positively and significantly relate with routine buying behaviour and impulse buying behaviour (measures of consumer buying behaviour). Therefore, the study concludes that the impact of voice search technology on consumer buying behavior of smartphones in Port Harcourt reveals significant correlations between the dimensions of voice search technology—voice recognition accuracy and user experience—and different buying behaviors. Furthermore, the study recommended that amongst others that Smartphone dealers should invest in advanced voice recognition technology to ensure high accuracy in voice commands. This will enhance consumer satisfaction and potentially increase both routine and impulse purchases.

Use of Technology in the Management and Treatment of Prediabetes, A New Era: A Case Report Series

Introduction: The escalating prevalence of prediabetes has positioned it as a silent precursor to a looming public health crisis, particularly as it paves the way for type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). This case series report explores the transformative role of technology, specifically the Sugar Fit’s Diabetes Reversal and Management Program (SDRMP), in the treatment and management of prediabetic patients. Methods: The case series follows the progress of two patients aged 31-44 with prediabetes utilizing the SDRMP to prevent the progression to diabetes. The interventions for both patients involved continuous glucose monitoring, personalized nutrition plans, fitness strategies, and behavioral modifications. The patients also engaged in regular communication with their life coaches through the Sugar Fit application, ensuring ongoing support and adherence to the program. Results: The results revealed significant improvements in glycemic control, lipid profiles, and overall well-being. The first patient, a 44-year-old male, demonstrated a successful return to normal glycemic control in 177 days through a comprehensive approach involving dietary changes, exercise, and lifestyle modifications. The second patient, a 31-year-old male, achieved normal glycemic control in a comparable timeframe, showcasing the effectiveness of the SDRMP. Discussion and Conclusion: These cases demonstrate that patients were able to adhere to the goals of care, preventing the progression of prediabetes to diabetes and improving insulin resistance. The study also underscores the potential impact of technology on public health outcomes, bridging the gap between traditional interventions and the evolving needs of a tech-savvy population. The synergy between healthcare expertise and technological innovation not only arrests the progression of prediabetes but also contributes to a broader societal shift towards metabolic well-being, paving the way for a healthier future. Future monitoring is essential to ensure the maintenance of lifestyle modifications and continued success in preventing diabetes.

The Impact of Technology on Family Communication

This study aims to explore the impact of technology on family communication patterns using the Family Communication Patterns Theory approach. Technology, especially digital devices such as mobile phones and social media, has changed the way families communicate, both positively and negatively. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach in five families in an urban area to understand how technology affects interpersonal relationships between family members. The results show that families with a high conversation orientation tend to use technology to strengthen emotional connectedness, while families with a high conformity orientation are more cautious in using technology, because they are worried about its impact on traditional values and parental control. Technology is also found to play a role in resolving family conflicts, but in some cases, it causes technoference or disruption in face-to-face communication. In conclusion, technology provides opportunities and challenges in maintaining family relationships, and its use needs to be regulated wisely to avoid negative impacts. This study suggests that families should be more aware of the limitations of technology use and prioritize direct interaction to maintain the quality of interpersonal communication.

Mapping Mobile Journalism in Academia: A Scoping Review

Abstract: Mobile journalism (MoJo) has become an increasingly relevant topic in the evolving landscape of media. This study investigates the interest and involvement of researchers from higher education institutions in Central and Eastern Europe in the field of Mobile Journalism. Utilizing a quantitative approach, the research analyzes the scientific output of these scholars over the past decade (2014–2024), focusing on the frequency of publications indexed in the Web of Science and Scopus databases related to MoJo. Additionally, a qualitative analysis was conducted on 28 identified articles to explore the main thematic areas addressed by these scholars, offering a comprehensive overview of key topics and trends in the academic literature surrounding MoJo. The findings corroborate the hypothesis that there is a notable lack of published research on mobile journalism by Central and Eastern European scholars, as no relevant articles were discovered from authors affiliated with universities in this region. The thematic categories identified highlight a tendency to focus on the impact of technology on journalism and changes within the industry, indicating significant gaps in other important areas that warrant further exploration. Pancreatic cancer remains one of the most lethal malignancies, with conventional treatment options providing limited efficacy. Recent advancements in immunotherapy have offered new hope, yet the unique tumor microenvironment (TME) of pancreatic cancer poses significant challenges to its successful application. This review explores the transformative impact of single-cell technology on the understanding and treatment of pancreatic cancer. By enabling high-resolution analysis of cellular heterogeneity within the TME, single-cell approaches have elucidated the complex interplay between various immune and tumor cell populations. These insights have led to the identification of predictive biomarkers and the development of innovative, personalized immunotherapeutic strategies. The review discusses the role of single-cell technology in dissecting the intricate immune landscape of pancreatic cancer, highlighting the discovery of T cell exhaustion profiles and macrophage polarization states that influence treatment response. Sandia National Laboratories Impacts

Technology transfer (T2) from government laboratories to private sector partners is an activity encouraged by the federal government through policy mandates. This study evaluates the economic outcomes of T2 contracts between Sandia National Laboratories and outside partners between 2000 and 2010 to quantify the economic contribution of these agreements to the U. S. economy and identify their practical value to the federal government. The research team surveyed T2 partners by asking questions regarding sales of new products and services resulting from the T2 agreements. They asked additional questions of companies whose agreements focused on nuclear weapons, stockpiles, and non-proliferation. The team obtained full or partial information from 93% of the Cooperative Research and Development agreements and license agreements. The IMPLAN economic impact assessment model was used to estimate the economic impact of the related technologies. Major findings from the study included $53.7 billion in total sales of new products and services from these agreements, including $21.9 billion in sales of products to the government. The total economic impact nationwide was $95.9 billion. Other findings included $9.9 billion in new tax revenues, nearly $1.7 billion in estimated cost savings, and 434,464 jobs supported, with an average compensation of approximately $69,000 per year.

This article is dedicated to the study of the impact of digital technologies on the educational process in medical universities, with a focus on sociological aspects and their significance for the healthcare system. It examines how the use of digital tools and platforms changes students' approaches to studying medicine and shapes their perception of the role of technology in improving the quality of medical services and ensuring public health. The informational and educational environment transforms traditional teaching methods, providing new opportunities for updating curricula and creating conditions for the rapid exchange of information between students and educators. Digitalization of the educational process implies a change in the roles of all participants in the educational process. Students become researchers actively using information and communication technologies to acquire knowledge and practical skills. At the same time, educators assume the role of mentors, supporting students in their learning and possessing the necessary competencies in digital technologies. The article analyzes the most effective tools for facilitating interaction in the educational environment, such as virtual boards like Google Jamboard, Miro, and Padlet, which contribute to the development of critical thinking and presentation skills among students. Additionally, the article addresses the challenges faced by medical universities in the process of integrating digital technologies. Effective implementation of digitalization requires strategic planning and a comprehensive approach to updating educational programs, which will create a sustainable platform for the future professional growth of students. In conclusion, the authors emphasize that digital technologies, along with innovative teaching methods, significantly enhance the quality of education in medical universities. This, in turn, contributes to the training of highly qualified specialists capable of effectively working in modern healthcare conditions, ultimately having a positive impact on public health and the organization of healthcare as a whole.
