The Impact of Leadership Style in Local Government in the Development of Sustainable Micro Entrepreneurship

Micro entrepreneurship in several districts and municipalities has been growing rapidly. The progress of this micro entrepreneurship can be achieved because of the efforts of the micro entrepreneurship and the strength of the entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurship needs a sustainable system so that the micro business can be stronger and more developed. The development of the micro entrepreneurship also depends on the role and the partiality of its local government which is influenced by the leadership style of the local government itself. This study is conducted to identify the impact of the leadership style of local government, to develop the characteristic and style of leadership role in local government, and to comprehend the leadership communication within the set context. The research is done by applying qualitative method with descriptive analysis in which secondary and primary data are about the micro entrepreneurship in Belitung District, Indonesia. The results show that the style of leadership gives influence to the rapid growth of a system which create partiality, commitment, consistency that showed by the sustainable regulation and policy of the local government. The style of the leadership creates the face and the character of the micro entrepreneurship of the local district which surely also determines the development of the micro entrepreneurship itself.

"Impact of leadership styles on innovative performance of female leaders in Pakistani Universities".

Leadership plays a significant role in the performance of individuals and organizations. This paper investigates the impact of leadership styles on the innovative performance of female leaders in Pakistani Universities using a survey approach. This paper aimed to (a) discover a leadership style practiced by females and (b) discover the relationship between leadership style and the innovative performance of female leaders. Several female leaders, including faculty members, heads of departments, deans, coordinators, and directors, from public and private universities of Punjab (a province of Pakistan), were involved in this study. A sample of one hundred female leaders was selected using a multistage sampling method. In the first stage, five public and five private sector universities were selected through a simple random method. In the second stage, ten female leaders (five from each of the social science and basic science departments) were selected from each university through a purposive sampling method. The researchers adopted a reliable instrument to collect the survey data. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS (Version 26). Mean scores and Pearson correlation coefficients were used to discover the relationship between various variables. The investigation revealed that most female leaders practice the transactional leadership style in their universities. This study also discovered a moderate positive relationship between both leadership styles, namely transactional and transformational, and innovative performance. The study recommends that various workshops and seminars may be conducted to increase the practices of both leadership styles to enhance innovation in Pakistani Universities.

The purpose of this study would be to investigate the impact of leadership styles on motivation and commitment as on predictor of group of organizational performance. Leadership and management must go hard in hand. They are not the same thing. Through they are different. they are necessarily linked, and complementary. Leadership is an important aspect of managing. As leaders, they are not only the responsible for directing their followers but also responsible for the attainment of goals of the organizations. It is believe that leaders are born not made. At the same time, a few people also believe that leaders are not born but made. But generally leaders are born and also made. Leadership is the process of influencing the activities of an individual or a group towards the achievement of a goal in a given situation. Leadership process is a function of the leader, the follower and other situational variable. Coming to the business organizations, people working there need leaders-individuals who could be instrumental in guiding the efforts of groups of workers to the achievement of goals and objectives both the individuals and the organizations. The objectives may not be very far reaching and the actions of the leader may not be so dramatic. but the successful performance of the leadership role is essential to the survival of the business enterprise.

Mediatory role of employee’s psychological behavior between leadership style and employee’s commitment: An empirical study in banking sector

One among the crucial parameter in the Human Resource Practices in every organization is the employee’s retention through the effective leadership. Management has to ensure the proper engagement of their employees based on their ability. Due to improper handling of the employees, there witnessed a large amount employees turnover particularly in the banking and finance industry. Organization could not able to grasp the psychological behavior of those employees why they preferred leaving the organization. Taking this as a core problem, this study aim to find the mediatory role of employee’s psychological behavior between the leadership style and their job performance in the banking sector encompasses public, private, and foreign banks in India among 593 employees selected through a simple random sampling technique. The researcher has applied various important tools, and the result exposed the positive impact of leadership style with the obligation through employee’s psychological behavior and satisfaction. Also employees working in the banks have enjoyed a good working environment along with the management support through motivation and rewards in their career. Leaders have to support towards implementation of latest technology and the training programme for enhancing the commitment of the employees.

Exploring the Impact of Leadership Style on Church Growth in MI

Churches are experiencing a significant membership decline. Leadership style emerged as a possible prevailing reason for this decline. This qualitative descriptive case study explored the perceptions of church leaders regarding leadership styles (transformational, transactional, laissez-faire, and servant leadership) and how these styles impacted membership growth and decline at Century Baptist Church in Inkster, Michigan. Interviews with 10 church leaders, questionnaires, church documentation review, and analysis generated 4 significant themes. The establishment of these themes contributed to the development of a Leadership Engagement Training Program (LSEP). Pseudonyms were used to protect the identity of the church and senior pastor.

The Influence of Leadership Style in China SMEs on Enterprise Innovation Performance: The Mediating Roles of Organizational Learning

This study explores the relationship among leadership styles (transformation and transaction types), organization learning, and enterprise innovation performance in China SMEs. The main purpose of this study is to find out the innovation performance of Chines SMEs, according to leadership styles. Thus, we collected data from 417 Chinese consumers through on/off line. The major empirical findings are as follows. First, the transformation leadership and transactional leadership style have a positive impact on organizational learning. Second, the research results of this study verify the positive impact of leadership style on innovation performance. Third, organizational learning has a forward impact on innovation performance. We conclude that organizational learning has a partial intermediary role on the relationship between leadership styles and enterprise innovation performance. This study enriches and expands research in leadership style and innovative performance, thus rationalizing improvements in corporate innovation performance. This study also contributes to the provision of theoretical support for leadership decisions of enterprises and other types of of organization.

Do Employee Trust and Job Satisfaction Mediate the Relationship of Leadership Styles and Emotional Intelligence with Project Success?

The current study investigates the impact of Leadership Styles (LS) and Emotional Intelligence (EI) on Project Success (PS) through underlying mediating mechanism of Job Satisfaction (JS) and trust. Total 160 responses were received from the team leaders (project managers, project leaders, project coordinators) of the NGOs sector of Pakistan. The findings of the research show that the relationship of LS and EI have significantly positive impact on the PS. Further, JS and Trust is positively and significantly influencing the PS and mediate the relationship of both LS and EI with PS. Within leadership styles, transactional leadership and Laissez Faire leadership styles have positive relationship with PS. However, the negative relationship of transformational leadership with PS is somewhat surprising as this relationship was expected to be positive. The findings suggest that project managers in NGOs must be aware of the impact of certain leadership behaviors and level of emotional intelligence for completing the projects successfully.

Marketing Concept in Elite Team Sports Clubs in Serbia: Impact of Leadership Styles, Organizational Learning Culture, and Climate for Innovation

This research tested the interactions among organizational learning culture, leadership styles, climate for innovation, and marketing concept of sports clubs in team sports. The study included elite sport managers (N=118), from four team sports (football, basketball, handball, and volleyball), who participated in the highest rank of national competition in Serbia. The organizational learning culture was measured with attitudes of respondents about the organizational learning culture at individual, team or group level, and organization as dichotomous variables, while leadership styles used the MLQ self-assessment questionnaire. The climate for innovation scale was measured with scales for assessing organizational support for creativity, maladaptation, support for innovation, and resource supply. The presence/absence of components of the different marketing mix aspects was measured as a four-dimensional variable for evaluation marketing concept. The results supported the mediation and path models. Direct effect to variable marketing concept is noticed only in the organizational learning culture, while climate for innovations and leadership style did not have a direct effect on the marketing concept. Indirect effects revealed that the status of the sports branch, the market position of each club in its sport competitive results, and the education background of managers' impact marketing concept in team sports in Serbia. The theoretical and practical contributions of obtaining results are discussed.

Impact of leadership style on employee commitment in Bahir Dar University, Ethiopia

Purpose: The aim of this study was to examine the impact of leadership styles on employee commitment at Bahir Dar University. Methodology: In order to achieve the objectives of the study, a cross-sectional survey design was conducted on a sample of 372 employees from eight different campuses of Bahir Dar University. A stratified sampling technique was applied so as to obtain a representative sample of respondents from campuses. Both academic and administrative staff members were participated in the study. Data were analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistics. Findings: The results of the research showed that transformational and transactional leadership style have a positive and significant impact on employee commitment in Bahir Dar University. For laissez-faire leadership style, the results of regression analysis indicated that there is a negative and significant impact on employee commitment in Bahir Dar University. Finally, the study recommended that both transformational and transactional leadership behaviors can play a major role in developing and improving employee commitment in Bahir Dar University. PENGUJIAN STRUKTURAL PADA MOTIVASI DAN PARTISIPASI MASYARAKAT DALAM PENGANGGARAN DESA

Participation in village preparation programs is crucial for the community because they are more aware of the conditions and needs in their area. The research explores the impact of leadership style, political legitimacy, village officials' performance on community participation, and the budgeting community motivation in the village. The population of this research is village officials in Seyegan District, Sleman Regency, who are involved in budgeting. The study was conducted for five months and managed to collect 50 respondents. This study uses smart PLS to test several variables in the hypothesis. Hypothesis testing shows that the performance of village officials has an impact on community participation and community participation has an effect on community motivation in budgeting. However, this study cannot prove the influence of leadership style and political legitimacy on community participation in village budgeting.

The Impact of Leadership Styles on Teacher Motivation in the Mfantseman Municipality of Ghana

This study examined the leadership styles of head teachers and how these leadership styles influence teacher motivation in the public basic schools in the Anomabo Education Circuit of the Mfantsiman Municipality in the Central Region of Ghana. Quantitative approach of Cross-sectional survey design was adopted for the study. Purposive and random sampling techniques were used to select 115 respondents for the study. The respondents were made up of 14 head teachers and 101 teachers. The data for the study was obtained using Self-administered questionnaires. A test-re-test method was used to establish the reliability of the instrument, and correlation coefficient of 8.51 and 8.63 obtained for the questionnaires of the teachers and the head teachers respectively. The data obtained were analysed using mean and standard deviation. The results revealed that the most dominant leadership style used by the head teachers in the Anomabo in their administration is autocratic. Nevertheless, transformational leadership style is least employed by the headteacher in the Anomabo Education Circuit. Generally, teachers in the public schools in the circuit are motivated to perform their responsibilities to the best of their abilities and knowledge. However, the teachers are not highly motivated with regard to remuneration and conditions of Service. Based on the findings, it was recommended that the government should increase the salaries and offer other incentives to the teacher to motivate them to work well. Head teachers should also involve teachers when making decisions on issues that bother on the welfare of teachers. Furthermore, head teachers should be encouraged to enroll for professional development courses to keep abreast with the best leadership styles that will assist them to achieve the desired educational goals. The Ghana Education Service, through the Mfantsiman Municipal Education Directorate should organize regular in-service training programmes for the head teachers to improve upon their leadership skills and administrative practices. Impact of leadership styles on faculty performance: Moderating role of organizational culture in higher education

There are many leadership styles, which have different impacts on employees' performance. In higher education, faculty performance depends on many factors including Leadership style & Organizational culture. This study aims to examine the effect of leadership styles on faculty performance (FP) and more specifically to examine the moderating effect of Organizational Culture in the association between leadership styles and faculty performance in higher education institutions (MUET, Jamshoro). This study used quantitative methodology to identify the leadership styles which exist in MUET, Jamshoro, and their impact on faculty performance with organizational culture as moderator. It used both the sampling techniques probability and non-probability, and the sample size was 384 and the data was analyzed in SmartPLS 3. For leadership style, Full Range Leadership Model was adopted and for organizational culture, Competing Value Framework (CVF) was used. This study found that Transformational (TF) leadership has a positive significant relation with faculty performance at MUET, Jamshoro. And Organizational Culture (OC) as moderator negatively moderates the relation between Laissez-faire (LF) leadership and faculty performance (FP). According to faculty, transformational leadership is best suited to promote their performance on account of giving them challenging work, autonomy, mutual trust, through supporting subordinates' creativity, improving their confidence, and maintaining collaborations. Laissez-faire leadership also exists in an academic institution and has a positive impact on faculty performance. However, Transactional leadership has a negative impact on faculty performance. The future study could be conducted in other universities, or a comparison of leadership styles can be made between public and private universities with different models of leadership style and with different organizational culture models.

The Impact of Leadership Styles on Performance and Mediating Effect of Organizational Culture: A Study in Flight Schools

Nowadays, the aviation sector is growing rapidly and the need for human resources in the airline industry is increasing. In order to meet the increasing pilot need, the number of flight schools and universities that provide pilot training with the support of relevant authorities is also increasing. This increase in the number of student pilots is accompanied by questions about how to ensure the continuity of quality and safety in flight training. In this context, it is very important for the flight schools to evaluate the variables that may affect the student pilot performance and to take the necessary precautions. In our study teacher leadership and organizational culture are assessed as important variables and examined. In aviation literature, there is a very small number of explanatory studies on flight performance and leadership. Additionally, no study has been found on teacher leadership of student pilots. In this context, how leadership styles affect student pilots' performances positively and negatively was investigated in our research. Organizational culture is considered as an important predictor of performance in today's organizations. In this context, it has emerged that studies have been carried out that the organizational culture is an important variable in improving organizational and individual performance. Leadership styles of teacher pilots and organizational culture have been explored in the student pilots’ performance process. In this context, our work has included performance, leadership styles and organizational culture. Regarding the methodology part of this study, 151 student pilots in the flight training organizations formed the universe and a survey was conducted, analysed and explained. Considering the effect of dynamic leadership, the present study analysed the impact of leadership and culture on flight performance. It is assumed that the most effective leadership styles can be found within group dynamics consisting of members who have diverse and individual cultural orientations. Individual differences that are caused by cultural norms can be considered as the outcomes of leadership behaviour. It was concluded that flight crew leadership cannot be analysed without considering the culture variable since behaviour is influenced by both individual and environmental factors. Moreover, since the performance outcomes of the crew resource management were evaluated, the cultural attitude of the crew and leader was considered.

THE INFLUENCE OF MANAGEMENT STYLES ON THE MOTIVATION AND SATISFACTION OF THE FITNESS CLUBS’ PERSONAL

Introduction. The article examines the peculiarities of leadership styles in fitness clubs in Ukraine and Europe. The level of staff satisfaction with motivational factors in fitness clubs in Ukraine and Europe was determined. A questionnaire was conducted, in which representatives of top management, and middle and lower management of fitness clubs took part. The purpose of the work is to determine leadership styles in fitness clubs in Ukraine and Europe and the specifics of the impact of leadership styles on the motivation and satisfaction of fitness club staff. The results. In the course of the study, the motivation of employees was determined according to the level of satisfaction with the following factors: material; the proximity of the place of work to the place of residence; the possibility of professional growth; the possibility of professional development; flexible work schedule; the possibility of self-realization; comfortable working conditions; favorable relations with the direct supervisor; recognition of merits by colleagues and management, feeling of significance in the team; work in a specialty, according to education; work according to one's interests/abilities; the favorable psychological climate in the team. The level of competencies of fitness club managers was also determined according to the following criteria: the ability to effectively solve professional and pedagogical problems; the ability to master modern educational technologies; availability of creative, design, and research abilities and skills; the ability to effectively construct direct and feedback communication with another person; the ability to establish contact with work colleagues; the ability to develop strategy, tactics, and techniques of interaction with people; ability to convince, argue one's position; mastery of oratory; the ability to effectively search, structure information; ability to use computer and multimedia technologies; ability to effectively use legislative and other normative legal documents.

Impact of Leadership Styles on Work Performance and Mediating Role of Job Satisfaction in Schools of Islamabad

This study was conducted to investigate the impact of two leadership styles i.e. autocratic leadership and team leadership over job satisfaction and work performance of the employees and the effect of job satisfaction itself over the work performance of employees in the educational sector. An aggregate of 140 questionnaires were distributed using google form because of the COVID situation to both academic and non-academic employees of various schools in Islamabad Federal Capital. Out of which 100 questionnaires were received back with 71% of the response rate. The data was analyzed in SPSS. Cronbach Alpha Reliability Test, Pearson Correlation, Regression Analysis Test, and Hayes Model Test were conducted. The results indicated a negative relationship between autocratic leadership and job satisfaction and with work performance, however, a significant and positive relationship between team leadership and job satisfaction, team leadership and work performance& job satisfaction and work performance exists. It was also revealed that job satisfaction played a major and significant role as a mediator having influence much more than the independent variables. Implications of the study in terms of management practices in the educational sector of Pakistan are also given. The study limitations were discussed and suggestions for future research were given.

Impact of Leadership Styles toward Employee Engagement among Malaysian Civil Defence Force

It is a fact that organization’s success and failure heavily depend on employees and employee engagement is found as one of the important indicators to engage work force in any organization. It has been repeatedly discussed by researchers in the past years and it was established that employee engagement is affected by variation in leadership styles. Many drivers regarding employee engagement have been identified, thus making the concept of employee engagement clear and more understandable for the employer. It also impacts employee performance and wellbeing as found by the past researchers. Leadership style also play a significant role in employee engagement. Leadership style is usually associated with the engagement of an employee and became the most important driver that may create culture of employee engagement in the organization. Leadership style also helps to drive optimal level of productivity in an organization and maintain employee trust. This study aims to identify the engagement level of employees in Malaysian Civil Defense Force and its relationship with leadership style. This research used Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ) as a research instrument. SPSS software package for social sciences version 22 was used to analyze the data in this study. Finding of this study shows that leadership styles have a significant impact on employee engagement especially transformational leadership has a significant relationship with employee engagement. Therefore, from the findings of this study, it is suggested for the future researchers to use the mix method in collecting data so that the findings will be more accurate and detailed and can be generalized.

How leadership styles influence organizational outcomes: an empirical study in Vietnamese SMEs

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to investigate the impact of leadership styles on different organizational outcomes and value structure such as: overall business performance, working style, motivation and trust of employees, management efficiency and corporate culture in the context of Vietnamese small and medium enterprises (SMEs).Design/methodology/approachThe authors perform a qualitative analysis and gather data by conducting conversational semi-structured interviews with 51 SME managers from different industries. Data were analyzed using a step-by-step approach following Creswell.FindingsThe study explores the effects of leadership styles on various organizational outcomes. Given the features of SMEs, it sheds light on the significance of leadership styles in changing work environment, increasing staff retention, and promoting the viability of SMEs. It also discusses the selection of leadership styles in accordance with Vietnamese culture.Practical implicationsThis study has practical implications on human resource management in the context of SMEs. SME managers, training providers and support agencies may utilize the research outcomes to raise the awareness of SMEs leaders. Based on the research findings, appropriate training programs should be developed to assist managers in tackling major problems.Originality/valueAlthough several previous studies have tried to investigate the influence of leadership styles on organizational outcomes, this is the first research to explore the topic in the context of SMEs and in conjunction with the Vietnamese culture.
