Although laparoscopic cholecystectomy has advantageous trends, it is not free from complications. Among the substantial incidents, iatrogenic lesions of the bile ducts remain to this day the major and most critical factor. Given the uniqueness of this complex event, the occurrence of which can quickly evolve into significant consequences on the morbidity and mortality of patients, it was necessary to understand its potential causes and, above all, to propose viable solutions to prevent it from occurring. As we strive to improve surgical procedure outcomes, the idea of the "critical view of safety" has been developed into the principles universally promoted to prevent iatrogenic injury to the bile ducts. However, we have noted that its realization is little manifested in our environment of action. With this in mind, it is undeniably crucial to have informed education in order to improve one's effectiveness. Thus, we examined in current research the depth of this approach, which aims to perform a safe laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
