The Relevance of Mahmud Yunus's Thought to Islamic Education in the Era of Digital Transformation

Mahmud Yunus is one of the educational figures from West Sumatra, Indonesia. He was the first rector of IAIN Imam Bonjol Padang. In his lifetime, education with digital technology was not yet known, but the results of his thinking were seen as having relevance to education in the digital era that exists today. Therefore, this study aims to reveal aspects that have relevance between Mahmud Yunus's thoughts and Islamic education in the digital era. This research is a literature review, namely research data collected from literature data both obtained from journals and books as well as the results of the thoughts of academics related to the thoughts of Mahmud Yunus. The results of the research are first, the Concept of Islamic Education Mahmud Yunus's perspective includes the purpose, understanding, content or material, curriculum, methods, educators, and forms of the Islamic educational environment. Second, The relevance of Islamic education according to Mahmud Yunus in the era of digital transformation is in harmony with the existence of religious education and general education and the classification of subject matter is in line with the current classification of education which is closely related to affective, cognitive, and psychomotor aspects. The method does have to adjust the age level of students. And Integration of the curriculum in terms of religious and general sciences. Furthermore, the educational environment influences character building and hones skills and skills so that students have it.

Criminal Liability in the Land Procurement Corruption Iain Imam Bonjol Padang Year 2010 (Study of Decision No. 26 / Pid.Sus / TPK / 2016 / PN / PDG)

Land procurement IAIN Imam Bonjol Padang Year 2010 was carried out directly by Prof. Dr. Sirajuddin Zar, M.A. as the Chancellor of IAIN Imam Bonjol Padang who was assisted by 4 (four) committees namely the land procurement committee, the secretariat committee, the task force (Satgas) and the Field Assistance Team. In addition to the 4 (four) committees, the land procurement of Imam Bonjol Padang in 2010 also involved Commitment Making Officers (PPK), the Examining and Recipient Committee, the Appraisal Team and Notary Public. To answer these problems, the authors in this study used a normative research method with a normative juridical approach and analytical descriptive research. After the authors analyze the theory of criminal liability and authority, the process of land procurement for Imam Bonjol Padang IAIN belongs to the procurement of land for development other than for public use which is carried out directly by IAIN Imam Bonjol Padang. Proof of corruption in land procurement IAIN Imam Bonjol Padang it must be proved from the elements of criminal acts and errors in accordance with the rules become a reference in land procurement IAIN Imam Bonjol Padang. Criminal liability in criminal acts of land procurement IAIN Imam Bonjol Padang in 2010 cannot be charged to the land procurement committee because one of the elements in criminal liability is not fulfilled, namely the element of criminal action. Therefore, the judge's consideration in decision No. 26 / Pid.Sus / TPK / 2019 / PN.PDG is wrong because the Defendant has not been proven to have committed an unlawful act as charged by the Public Prosecutor, so that the right decision for the Defendant is a free decision.

An Analysis of The Students Preposition Errors in Writing Recount Text at English Department in Academic Year 2013/2014 at IAIN Imam Bonjol Padang

Preposition is one of language elements that plays an important role to join the words to build sentences. However, the errors of using it keep occurring in the sixth semester students writing compositions. This research was conducted to find out and analyzed the errors on using preposition that occur in the students writing of recount essay. This research was classified into descriptive one. This research was about the errors of preposition used in the recount essay done by the sixth semester students of English Department of IAIN Imam Bonjol Padang. The data of this research were the incorrect preposition found in the recount essay written by the students. The data were collected through giving the students a writing test of recount test. In order to know the causes of the errors, the data were collected by doing the interview. This research investigated about the types of errors and which type that mostly occurs of preposition used in the writing of recount essay and what are the causes. The findings show that the students made some errors on the use of preposition. They are within the category of interlingual; features of L1 are transferred to the target language, and intralingual; ommission, addition, misselection of FL preposition, and redundancy. These types are based on Corder. Meanwhile, the interview guideline is derived from Richards theory of causes of errors. The cause of error in using English preposition is the ignorance of the rule restriction that the students perform in doing the writing activity. To conclude, the error in using English preposition is because of the students low of grammatical ability.

Classroom Interaction Analysis in the EFL Speaking Class: A Study at English Department of IAIN Imam Bonjol Padang

The success of teaching depends to a large extent on the way teachers talk and interactions that occur between teachersand students. The happening of interaction is affected directly by ways of teacher talk. This study entitles “Classroom InteractionAnalysis in the EFL Speaking Class” aimed at analyzing the categories of teacher talk, student talk and classroom interaction typesused during EFL speaking class. The research employed a qualitative design and applied a case study. Subjects of the research werean English teacher and 35 students at the second semester at English Department of IAIN Imam Bonjol Padang. The data weregained through naturalistic observation and document analysis. The data were analyzed by using Foreign Language Interaction(FLINT) system. The findings revealed that both teacher and students applied all categories of talk as mentioned in FLINT systemand classroom interaction types.

The Contribution of Grade Point Average of Cum Laude Students to the Type and Relevancy of Career

The success of higher education institutions can be seen from several indicators. One of the indicators is the institutions that can produce outputs and outcomes with the competence in relation to the needs of society. The graduates’ academic achievement can be described through their grade point average (GPA). There were 79 graduates who got Cum Laude predicate at the Department of Islamic Studies, IAIN Imam Bonjol Padang in the 1st Period of graduation which was held on August to September and in the 2nd period on March, from the academic year of 2011 to 2015. The lowest GPA was 3.50 while the highest GPA was 3.93. The graduates who got Cum Laude have worked in several fields of jobs; such as Islamic Religion teachers, staffs in government offices, banks, and political parties both in West Sumatra and out of Sumatra. The study showed that there is no significant contribution of GPA with their career. It implied that GPA will not determine the graduate career either as a teacher on Islamic studies or as a teacher on social science and civics education. It also found that the graduates who work in out of field of studies were caused by the demand of the schools because of lack of teachers.

KONTRIBUSI MOTIVASI KERJA TERHADAP KINERJA PEGAWAI IAIN IMAM BONJOL PADANG (Studi Kasus Pada IAIN Imam Bonjol Padang )

This was a correlational quantitative research. The population of this research was all of administration officers at IAIN Imam Bonjol Padang consisting of 169 officers. By using stratified proportional random sampling technique, 70 officers were chosen as the sample. In collecting the data, the researcher used questionnaire of Likert scale which had been tested its validity and reliability. The data then was analyzed by using correlation and regression techniques.The result of the research showed that the organizational culture contributed motivation contributed about 14,9% the officers’ work performance at IAIN Imam Bonjol Padang, work motivation was in good category (84,3%) and work performance was in good cetegory (83,3%). The result of the research implied that the work performance of the officers can be improved by improving the organizational culture as well as the work motivation in that campus. Material Effect on Entrepreneurship Learning towards Interest in Entrepreneurship Activities of Students

This paper starts from the fact that, even though entrepreneurship learning materials (enterpreunorships) has been taught in the lecture material at IAIN Imam Bonjol Padang. But the number of students interested in entrepreneurship spirit is still limited. Further research using quantitative methods, with data analysis techniques are Linear regression analyzes were processed with SPSS version 20 .0 for windows. The independent variables in this study is a matter of entrepreneurship courses and the dependent variable interest in entrepreneurship. The population in this study students Propagation Department of Management Faculty of Da'wa and Communication Studies IAIN Imam Bonjol Padang Force 2013, which amounted to 52 people. Sampling research using techniques total sampling. Data collection techniques used in this Research has pe is a psychological scale, which is based on the Likert scale models, this study used two psychological scale. Based on the analysis of experimental data showed a simple linear regression with t> t table (2.967 ≥ 2.009) then hipot esis work (H a) is accepted, means that the material influences of entrepreneurship courses to student interest in entrepreneurship Propagation Department of Management Faculty of Da'wa and Communication Studies IAIN Imam Bonjol Padang.

ANALISIS STRUKTUR LAPISAN BAWAH PERMUKAAN MENGGUNAKAN METODE GEOLISTRIK (STUDI KASUS PADA KAMPUS III IAIN IMAM BONJOL PADANG DI SUNGAI BANGEK KECAMATN KOTO TANGAH)

The purpose of this research is to know about the structure of subsurface in campus III IAIN Imam Bonjol Padang. Information about subsurface used to preeleminary research as a base of planning office and classroom on new campus IAIN Imam Bonjol at Sungai Bangek. This Research use geophysical properties, specially Geoelectrical method. Geoelectrical method use electrical property of the earth through the subsurface and then record by geophone on the surface. The interpretation of the subsurface was do according to different of their resistivity. The result of this research shows that structure of this area dominate by clay, limestone, and andesit. The surface dominate by clay, andesit only in a few area. In subsurface andesit in range 45-60 meter.Kata Kunci: Structure of subsurface, geoelectric, clay, limestone, andesit

Teknik Desensitisasi Sistematik untuk Mengurangi Fobia Mahasiswa

People do many things to reach effective life and stay away from trouble. One of indicators which disturb life is worrying too much about something irrational such as phobia. Phobia can be omitted by systematic desensitization technique. Systematic desensitization technique is one of techniques for counseling to reduce scary emotional response or something worrying through activities which are contrary to those responses. This research aims to (1) description phobia condition before treatment (pretest) and after treatment (posttest), (2) examine effectively systematic desensitization technique to reduce phobia of students.This research uses quantitative research method, type of this research is a kind of quasi experiment. This design uses pretest posttest one group design, there is an experiment group over here. Technique for collecting subject is non random sampling, selection for subjects based on certain considerations and adjusted to research purposes, there are 8 students of Tarbiyah and Education Faculty IAIN Imam Bonjol Padang suffering phobia. Instrument used is questionnaire with 0,851 of total validity and 0,923 of reliability. Data is analyzed using wilcoxon statistic test.Discovery of this research shows that: (1) systematic desensitization technique effectively heals phobia of students, (2) there are differences between pretest and posttest phobia condition.

Efektivitas Layanan Bimbingan Kelompok dengan Pendekatan Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy untuk Mengatasi Kecemasan Mahasiswa

Anxiety is unplesant feelings or tension against something that has not yet happened, and it could raise a fear of the impact that might grow. REBT regards an anxiety as an irrational thought that lead an individual to behave ineffectively, such as avoiding particular situation. Public speaking anxiety is a fear that is felt when speaking in front of many people. This fear could generate a variety of symptoms, such as sweating and even forget the words to be delivered. To avoid this condition, the individual choose to remain silent. Group guidance service is one of guidance an counseling serviced aimed at training members of the group to speak in front of public and be able to share ideas with others. The research was designed for revealing: the average score of the students’ anxiety before and after group guidance service assisted with REBT approach was applied by using ABCDE model and homework assigment technique, and the effectiveness of group guidance service assisted with REBT approach to reduce the student’ anxiety. This research applied quantitative method. This was a pre-experimental research which used the one group pretest and posttest design. The subject was chosen by using purposive sampling method. The subject of the research was seven students having high anxiety, medium anxiety and low anxiety. This research was conducted at IAIN Imam Bonjol Padang. The data gathered were analyzed by using statistic non-parametrik technique assisted with Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and SPSS version 20.00. The result of the research showed that there was a difference between the average score of the students’ anxiety before and after the treatment given in which their pretest score was 136,1 and their posttest score was 111,5. Futhermore, the result of hypothesis test indicated that the score of Asymp. Sig (2-tailed) was 0,005 which was below alpha 0,05 (0,005<0,05). Hence, Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. Based on these result, it was concluded that the use of group guidance service assisted with REBT approach which was applied by using ABCDE model and homework assigment technique was effective to overcome the students’ anxiety to speak in front of people (in the class).

Intensive Class Training Model for Developing Lecturers’English Competence at IAIN Imam Bonjol Padang

Research and Development (RD) project was used to develop lecturers’ English competence particularly on speaking and writing at State Institute of Islamic Studies of Imam Bonjol Padang. The lecturers need to develop their competence in English in order to prepare themselves to add new information of lecturing materials and writing papers. Borg and Gall’s steps were used to develop the model. Twenty active lecturers who had s2 and s3 program, who were randomly selected, participated on this research. During the process of the research, observation, questionnaire, and TOEFL test, speaking and writing tests were used to collect the data. The experimental research type and one group pre test- post test design were used to conduct the research. The result of the research showed that 74% of respondents need intensive class training model to develop their English competence. The implementation of intensive class training model gave a significant effect toward lecturers’ English competence. It is concluded that this model is more effective to improve lecturers’ on English competences. Therefore, it is recommended that this model can be implemented at IAIN Imam Bonjol Padang in order to develop lecturers’ English competences and to enhance the quality of lecturers.

The Effectiveness of in-service Teacher Training Program at Faculty of Islamic Education and Teacher Training IAIN Imam Bonjol Padang

The purpose of this research is to reveal: 1. The influence of in-service Teacher Training Program (PLPG) towards the teacher competency as participant of PLPG; 2. The correlation between gender (X1) towards the teachers’ competency as participant of PLPG; .3. The correlation between Age (X2) towards the teachers’ competency as participant of PLPG; 4. The correlation between years of service towards the teachers’ competency as participant of PLPG; 5. The correlation between the number of training followed (X4) towards teachers’ competency as participant of PLPG; and 6. This research used quantitative method. The population of this research is 1.300 teachers of PLPG in 2013. By using Yamane formulation, there are 220 teachers taken as the sample. The data was analyzed by using t test and correlation analysis. The findings of the study suggested that: 1. There is a positive influence of PLPG implementation towards teachers’ competency as PLPG participant; 2. There is no significant correlation between gender (X1) and teachers’ competency as PLPG participant; 3. There is a significant correlation between Age (X2) towards teachers’ competency of PLPG; 4. There is no significant correlation between the Years of Service (X3) towards teachers’ competency as the participant of PLPG; 5. There is a significant correlation between the number of Diklat followed (X4) towards teachers’ competency as the participant of PLPG; and 6. There is a significant correlation between the effectiveness of PLPG (X5) towards teachers’ competency as the participant of PLPG. The Using of Media in Learning Fiqh to the Islamic Education Department of Education and Teacher Faculty of IAIN Imam Bonjol Padang

The using of media in learning is one of important aspects to be applied in learning process, the delivery of learning material is easy to understand, in addition to the provide more concrete learning, specially in the achievement of learning objectives. The aims of this study is to reveal the use of Media in Learning Fiqh in the Department of Islamic Education, Education and Teaching Faculty of IAIN Imam Bonjol Padang. This study used a qualitative descriptive method, the informants of this study is consisted of lecturers who teach jurisprudence at the Department of Islamic education, the other jurisprudence lecturers, students and subsequently increased in accordance with the purposes of the data obtained. Data collected by using observation, interviews, and documentation, to the validity of the data obtained, it is conducted the triangulation during the research process. The research results revealed that the Use of Media in Learning Fiqh of the Department of Islamic Education in Teaching Faculty of IAIN Imam Bonjol Padang by lecturers already in used, such as using a doll to organize the corpse, shroud, perfume, coffin corpse and occasional lecturer use media electronics such as laptop. This was due to the limited facilities and infrastructure that provide in Department of Islamic Education, Tarbiyah Faculty of IAIN Imam Bonjol Padang, and the instability of electricity power, thus, the most frequently media that is used by lecturer is a whiteboard using the discussion method. Mingle Model for Teaching English Speaking Skill for College Students

This paper is a report of a research and development project conducted in a speaking skill for the first-year students of State Institute for Islamic Studies Imam Bonjol Padang, academic year 2012/2013. Mingle as a technique in teaching speaking proposed by Pollard and Hess in 1997 was developed into a new model. Using ADDIE model as proposed by Dick and Carey in 1996, we collected the intended data through observation, questionnaire, and test. The result of the research showed that the implementation of model gave a significant difference in term of the students-learning outcome between the students who are taught through Mingle model and by traditional one or without Mingle model. The development of Mingle model included preparation, warming up, set the rule, act Mingle model, presentation, review and discussion. It is concluded that Mingle model is more effective to improve students on all components of speaking skill. Therefore, it is recommended that this model can be implemented at IAIN Imam Bonjol Padang. Copyright © 2015 by Al-Ta'lim All right reserved
