On September 1, the Interuniversity Post‐graduate Program in Hydrology at the Free University of Brussels will open its doors for its third academic year. This year, 30 students from all over the world will form the entering class. The program is under the joint guidance of the University of Brussels, the universities of Ghent, Leuven (Louvain), and Antwerp, and the Royal Meteorological Institute.The first year of the 2‐year program, leading to a diploma in hydrology, includes field training, prerequisite courses, and basic courses in hydraulics, hydrometry, meteorology, hydrology, water management, and water quality and treatment. The second year, which leads to an M.Sc. degree in hydrology, includes optional courses in surface hydrology, groundwater hydrology, and pollution control; seminars, additional field training; and a master's thesis.
