A rapid quantitative method has been devised for the estimation of total oestrogens in pregnancy urine. Acid hydrolysis and organic solvent extractions, which were necessary steps in urinary oestriol estimation by previously published methods, have been eliminated by the use of the adsorption characteristics of Sephadex G-10. In a normal working day 48 estimations can be carried out with a high degree of precision.
