The aim of the research was to know the degree of availability of the strategic pillars of the human capacity development program to prepare a globally competitive citizen in the content of the social studies book for the first intermediate grade. To achieve this goal, the researchers prepared a content analysis tool that included (3) strategic pillars under which (74) sub-axes fall to prepare a globally competitive citizen. To ensure its validity, it was presented to a group of specialized arbitrators. The stability of the analysis tool was also calculated by analyzing the same material twice, and at two separate periods. The results of the first researcher's analysis were compared with the results of the second researcher. The Holsiti equation was used to calculate this, and the average stability coefficient value was (0.93). The analysis results indicated that the number of sub-axes included in the book amounted to (42) sub-axes to prepare a globally competitive citizen at a rate of (58.3%) with different inclusion rates, as the first pillar (developing a solid and flexible educational foundation for all) obtained the highest inclusion rate (39.64%), followed by the third pillar (providing lifelong learning opportunities) at a rate of (17.82%), and it obtained The second pillar (preparing for the future labor market locally and globally) had the lowest inclusion rate (10.28%).

An Evaluation Of The Treasury Single Account (TSA) As An Instrument Of Financial Prudence and Management In Nigeria: Methodology Analysis (OAGF) 2015-2024.

This paper examines the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation and the relationship between the Nigerian economy and the Treasury Single Account Policy (2015-2024). The Nigerian economy has developed slowly over the years, which has led to little to no improvement in the country's residents' standard of living. The study's overall goal was to determine how the Treasury Single Account Policy affected Nigeria's economic developments between 2015 and 2024. Its specific goals were to determine whether the human development index, Gini coefficient, and poverty rate of the country's economy differed significantly between the pre-and post-implementation periods. The research utilized the design of the quantitative study. Nigerian citizens make up the study's population, while the citizens of Nigeria for the years 2015–2024 make up the sample size. The study employed secondary data that came from the World Bank's National Accounts Data, the National Bureau of Statistics, and the Central Bank of Nigeria's Statistical Bulletin. The paired sample t-test was used to assess the data. The outcome showed that, except the variable of human development index, which showed a significant difference between the periods before and after the implementation of the treasury single account policy, economic development indicators (gini coefficient and poverty rate) did not differ significantly between the periods before and after the policy. Consequently, the analysis found that the Treasury Single Using the poverty rate and Gini coefficient as stand-ins for economic development, account policy had no discernible effect on the Nigerian economy. Additionally, it was determined that the Treasury Single Account Policy had a major influence on Nigeria's economic development using the Human Development Index as a proxy for economic progress. Therefore, it was advised that government programs for human development be maintained and improved, particularly in the fields of health and education.

A Proposed Vision for Achieving Competitive Advantage for Urban Development Programs and Sustainable Humanity Through Charities

The main objective of this study is to formulate a proposed vision to achieve competitive advantage for sustainable urban and human development programs in charitable societies, by determining the reality of competitive advantage, identifying the difficulties facing achieving competitive advantage for sustainable urban and human development programs in charitable societies, and identifying the most important proposals to achieve competitive advantage for those. Programs, and this study belongs to the style of analytical descriptive studies, as the study population is members of charitable societies working in the field of sustainable human urban development in the Riyadh region. The study sample consisted of (65) members, who were selected using a simple random sampling method, and these societies were identified in (the Association Al-Nahda, Al-Wafa Women’s Charitable Society, Al-Ghat Charitable Society, Dharma Charitable Society). The results of the study confirmed that the reality of the competitive advantage of sustainable urban and human development programs in charitable organizations may be represented in: providing the highest possible quality, relying on modern technology in its design, touching reality and spreading the needs of the population, focusing on social innovation in its design, providing it at the lowest possible cost, Community residents participate in its design, community residents participate in its evaluation, and the difficulties facing achieving competitive advantage for sustainable urban and human development programs in charitable organizations have been represented in: the small number of specialized experts in the association, weak resources and technological capabilities, and a weak culture of teamwork among the association’s employees. The weak confidence of the community residents in those in charge of the association, the weakness of the enablers of institutional excellence in the association, and that the proposals to achieve a competitive advantage for sustainable urban and human development programs in charitable societies were represented in: overcoming the organizational conflict between the employees of the association, developing the enablers of institutional excellence in the association, developing resources and capabilities. Technology, developing the comprehensive quality system in managing the association, relying on strategic planning in the association, increasing the confidence of community residents in those in charge of the association.

Utilizing Family Theories to Maximize Early Intervention Work: An Examination and Application of Family Systems Theory and Bioecological Theory

The field of early intervention is rapidly expanding. Individuals trained in Human Development and Family Science programs are uniquely situated for work in this setting, due to their diverse understanding of human development, from birth through death, and the role of the family system in influencing development. More specifically, individuals from this academic discipline can employ a family systems theory and bioecological theory perspectives to inform their intervention work. The unique insight these theories provide to enhance early intervention work will be discussed and then applied using an actual case study. Though family systems theory and bioecological theory do have limitations in this field, namely their inability to explain a behavioral change and non-linear orientation, the authors feel the benefits of both these theoretical perspectives for explaining family contexts outweigh the limitations.

Worldwide predictors of science literacy in lower-secondary students: a TIMSS 2019 analysis

ABSTRACT In today's technologically advanced and environmentally challenging landscape, enhancing global scientific literacy is increasingly imperative. A solid grasp of scientific principles is vital for fostering innovation and achieving sustainable development worldwide. Utilizing data from the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA) Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS), this study inquiries into various factors impacting grade eight students' science literacy in the TIMSS 2019 assessment. Exploring student socioeconomic status, cultural background, attitudes towards science, school organisation, teacher experiences, and country-level variables, we aimed to identify predictive associations with science literacy. Additionally, we correlated TIMSS 2019 results with the United Nations Development Program's Human Development Index (HDI). Employing three-level Hierarchical Linear Modeling, we assessed which student, teacher, and country-level variables were linked to grade 8 science literacy. Results indicate that the students' socioeconomic resources and motivation/confidence in science positively influence science literacy. Conversely, a higher percentage of science items covered in national curricula was weakly associated with lower science literacy scores. Teachers reporting greater teaching limitations due to student needs showed negative correlations with science scores. At the country level, the HDI emerged as the strongest correlate with grade 8 science literacy. These findings underscore the multifaceted nature of science literacy and its interplay with various socio-cultural and educational factors on a global scale.

Cultivating sustainable environmental performance: The role of green talent management, transformational leadership, and employee engagement with green initiatives.

The success of organizations' sustainable performance mainly depends on their human resource capital and for this organizations now need to focus on green human capital development programs including green talent management (GTM). GTM entails attracting, nurturing, and retaining those people who can promote the green initiatives of the organization. This paper aims to investigate the impact of GTM, transformational leadership, and employee engagement on the sustainable environmental performance of organizations. The data were collected from both academic and administrative employees in five Omani higher education institutions (HEIs). In total 367 questionnaires were collected using drop-off and pickup methods. The results of the study showed that green hard and green soft talent management (TM) and employee engagement with green initiatives are significant predictors of the sustainable environmental performance of HEIs. Moreover, transformational leadership can moderate the influence of green soft TM on employee engagement with green initiatives by strengthening the relationship. For sustainable performance and development, organizations especially HEIs need to actively assume their social responsibilities and implement sustainable environmental management. The present study provides meaningful implications for practitioners, educational policymakers, and leaders to promote GTM and employee engagement for sustainable environmental performance. Supporting green skill development, engaging employees with green initiatives, and promoting staff with green skills can help organizations particularly HEIs to increase their sustainable environmental performance and gain a competitive advantage.

Scaling Up Whole Child Development Initiatives: Lessons from the Early Journey of Life Program in Vietnam

Human development programs—for example, early childhood interventions—often depend on high-quality, respectful human relationships. This creates a challenge for implementation at large scale. Here, we review how this challenge was addressed in the scale-up of the Early Journey of Life (EJOL) program, an evidence-based initiative in Vietnam that supports parents and families in the first 1,000 days of children’s lives. The program’s experience highlights the value of an approach to scaling that aims to energize stakeholders, including at the front line as well as among government leaders; rapidly learn and adapt based on new evidence; empower leadership across the delivery system; rebalance agency to the front line; and gradually but systematically embed program principles and activities in large government systems. Our findings suggest that EJOL’s work to implement scale-up along these lines was in turn grounded in high-quality relationships with those engaged in the program, from family members to frontline workers to middle managers and senior government officials. The EJOL program has successfully scaled to reach 109 rural communes in Ha Nam province and continues to expand and diversify while retaining its core focus on high-quality human relationships.

Risk factors associated with intimate partner violence (IPV) against Jordanian married women: A social ecological perspective

This paper seeks to gain insights into complex and multiple influences which may behind the different components of intimate partner violence (IPV) against Jordanian wives. Drawing on a quantitative approach, the paper explores and presents findings of the determinants of domestic violence sustained by female partners during the year preceding a nationally representative survey. The survey is based on national multi-stage random sampling data from the 2012 Jordan Demographic Health Survey (JDHS). The paper applies the social-ecological framework. A method of Leastwise deletion techniques is used to remove missing data. Doing this resulted in 6213 married women used in the data analysis. Logistic regression models are used to estimate/predict different forms of IPV against domestic female partners. The findings of the study suggest that wives are victimized at all levels of the framework. Specifically, family, community, and social levels were the most vital factors affecting victims experiencing IPV. More specifically, wives witnessing their fathers beat their mothers and wives who are scared of their husbands are more prone to sustain violence inflicted by their partners. Furthermore, wives' education, working status, and age at marriage do not predict IPV. Another key finding is that wife empowerment in family relationships is a protective factor against domestic violence against her. The implication is that the patriarchal explanation of domestic violence against wives is valid in the Jordanian cultural context. This study underscores the need to reevaluate the effectiveness of Jordan's general human development programs and women empowerment programs as an essential measure for alleviating IPV inflicted on married women in Jordan.

Human capital development programme for mid-career agricultural extension workers: The case of Sokoine University of Agriculture BSc. agricultural extension and education training programme

Of recent, there is changing work environment for agricultural extension workers as they operate under the multi-stakeholders’ phenomenon. This increasingly poses a challenge to frontline extension workers trained on linear model (extension-researcher-farmer linkage) in extension services delivery. This is because, facilitating the multi-stakeholder processes requires competent agricultural extension workers well-versed in human relations. In recognizing the importance of human capital development for agricultural extension service delivery in Tanzania, Sokoine University of Agriculture established a mid-career agricultural extension training programme in 1998. Informed by the human capital theory, this study employed an evaluative study design to assess the impact of the Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) mid-career BSc. Agricultural Extension and Education training programme on human capital development. The study was conducted in five agro-ecological zones, that is, Eastern, Western, Central, Southern Highlands and Lake zones in Tanzania. The development of the sampling frame was done in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA), Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries (MLF) and President’s Office-Regional Administration and Local Government (PO-RALG). A total of 200 respondents-100 alumni and 100 farmers were sampled proportionately. A snowball sampling technique was used to replace the respondents who were selected randomly but could not be reached for interview. Data were collected from respondents through a questionnaire that covered a set of competences through analysis of the mid-career agricultural extension curriculum and consultations with public and private employers. In addition, literature review and observations were also used to supplement the collected information. The findings indicate that the agricultural training programme at Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) equipped graduates with appropriate knowledge, competencies and skills that improved their job performance and productive capacities that enabled them to interact with various stakeholders and facilitate multi-stakeholders’ processes. This is in line with the purpose of establishing the programme. Hence, this points to the need for continuous human capital building and motivations of agricultural extension workers for the improvement of their performance. Living in ‘waithood’: perceived impact of socio-economic conditions on quality of life of youth in Zandspruit informal settlement, South Africa

Research on quality of life (QoL) is important for public policies and human development programmes. Given the high proportion of youth within the South African population, and the rapid expansion of informal settlements, the aim of the study was to investigate the socio-economic living conditions of youth in Zandspruit informal settlement and their perceived impact on their QoL. Guided by the Integrated Theory of Quality of Life and a blend of Honwana’s ‘waithood’ and Thieme’s ‘hustle’ theory, the research employed a qualitative, case study approach involving interviews with 20 youth between 18 and 35 years. Caught in prolonged ‘waithood’ between adolescence and adulthood, most participants were unemployed and relied on government grants or piece jobs. They acknowledged challenges that negatively affected their QoL such as lack of basic services which impacted their physical and mental health and feelings of safety. At the same time, they were able to see the benefits of living in Zandspruit such as having sporting programmes, business and job opportunities, availability of goods, and meeting people from different backgrounds. They were able to assert their agency to counter the negative environment and impact of waithood by socialising with family and friends, joining church choirs, engaging in sporting activities, helping children with homework, and persisting with job hunting. These activities represent ways of what Thieme (2017) refers to as ‘getting by’ while living in ‘waithood’. The study highlights the need to fast-track the implementation of the Upgrading of Informal Settlements Programme by providing essential services.

The author has considered participation issues of professional communities in the development of the personnel reserve in the railway industry. The development of the activities of professional communities in the Russian railway industry and their contribution to the development of human resources are analyzed. The author has proposed a classification of the tasks of professional communities that need to be developed to improve the personnel potential of railway transport in our country. The role of human capital for the development of both human resources and the railway industry as a whole has been assessed. An analysis of the economic literature has been carried out. The author has identified the main aspects of the activities in professional communities of the railway industry for the product development of the activities in professional communities. The work also has highlighted individual examples of the impact of professional communities on the development of human resources through the participation of human capital in their activities. Additionally, an analysis of the economic literature has been carried out to clarify the need for research of professional communities, including examples of professional communities of railway transport in the Russian Federation. The activities of some professional communities in the railway industry have been considered, a brief description of their activities has been given. The Russian Railways human capital development program for the period up to 2025 is determined to be a tool that allows professional communities to solve the tasks of the human resources potential of the industry [1]. An attempt has been made to develop the term «efficiency of professional communities».

Management and Development of Productive Waqf for Islamic Boarding Schools in Kampar Regency

This research aims to explore the management and development of productive waqf and its strategies in Islamic boarding schools in Kampar Regency, Riau Province. Waqf is an integral part of the dynamics of Islamic boarding schools. This study is a field research conducted using a qualitative descriptive approach. Data collection with observation, interviews, and Focus Group Discussion. The data were analyzed using the Qualitative Data Analysis approach with NVivo 12 Plus software. In managing its waqf assets, the Foundation relies on strengthening the organizational system by improving the quality of the nazhir, management of administrative tasks and waqf asset inventory, as well as organizational management. The Waqf Foundation of Al-Ihsan Riau manages waqf through money and cash waqf and develops productive waqf by establishing business units, including Ahsanta Mart, Ahsanta Cafe, Ahsanta Agro, IBS Business Center, Sharia microfinance, and LPG gas stations. To maintain the existence of waqf assets and the sustainability of their benefits, the foundation uses the following strategies: first, building transparency and accountability. Second, optimizing waqf through money is an instrument for accelerating infrastructure and facility development. Third, optimizing cash waqf as an instrument for business development and the independence of the Islamic boarding school. Fourth, optimizing zakat and donation programs for scholarships and human resource development. Fifth, building a waqf ecosystem and partnerships with economic protection policies. The foundation’s assets are charitable waqf aimed at implementing religious education based on Islamic boarding school principles. The benefits of waqf include organizing education based on Islamic boarding schools as the main core competence. This includes nurturing more than 30 mosques and prayer rooms around the Islamic boarding school, providing scholarships to 289 students, collaborating with preachers, utilizing waqf infrastructure for various religious, social, and community activities, providing healthcare services to the Islamic boarding school, and empowering the economy through partnerships and consignment patterns with the surrounding community.

RET enhancer haplotype-dependent remodeling of the human fetal gut development program.

Hirschsprung disease (HSCR) is associated with deficiency of the receptor tyrosine kinase RET, resulting in loss of cells of the enteric nervous system (ENS) during fetal gut development. The major contribution to HSCR risk is from common sequence variants in RET enhancers with additional risk from rare coding variants in many genes. Here, we demonstrate that these RET enhancer variants specifically alter the human fetal gut development program through significant decreases in gene expression of RET, members of the RET-EDNRB gene regulatory network (GRN), other HSCR genes, with an altered transcriptome of 2,382 differentially expressed genes across diverse neuronal and mesenchymal functions. A parsimonious hypothesis for these results is that beyond RET's direct effect on its GRN, it also has a major role in enteric neural crest-derived cell (ENCDC) precursor proliferation, its deficiency reducing ENCDCs with relative expansion of non-ENCDC cells. Thus, genes reducing RET proliferative activity can potentially cause HSCR. One such class is the 23 RET-dependent transcription factors enriched in early gut development. We show that their knockdown in human neuroblastoma SK-N-SH cells reduces RET and/or EDNRB gene expression, expanding the RET-EDNRB GRN. The human embryos we studied had major remodeling of the gut transcriptome but were unlikely to have had HSCR: thus, genetic or epigenetic changes in addition to those in RET are required for aganglionosis.

Tissue morphology influences the temporal program of human brain organoid development.

Progression through fate decisions determines cellular composition and tissue architecture, but how that same architecture may impact cell fate is less clear. We took advantage of organoids as a tractable model to interrogate this interaction of form and fate. Screening methodological variations revealed that common protocol adjustments impacted various aspects of morphology, from macrostructure to tissue architecture. We examined the impact of morphological perturbations on cell fate through integrated single nuclear RNA sequencing (snRNA-seq) and spatial transcriptomics. Regardless of the specific protocol, organoids with more complex morphology better mimicked invivo human fetal brain development. Organoids with perturbed tissue architecture displayed aberrant temporal progression, with cells being intermingled in both space and time. Finally, encapsulation to impart a simplified morphology led to disrupted tissue cytoarchitecture and a similar abnormal maturational timing. These data demonstrate that cells of the developing brain require proper spatial coordinates to undergo correct temporal progression.

Employers’ Expectations of University Graduates as They Transition into the Workplace

Abstract Research on work readiness indicates employers are increasingly pointing out that soft skills are as important as discipline specific knowledge and technical skills when hiring recent university graduates. However, many university students think excellent grades are the main reason they get the jobs. The disconnect between what employers expect and what students imagine is significant to the extent that many recent university graduates are unable to be employed in the jobs they want, and many employers have challenges dealing with recent university graduates who are not work ready. In 2018, a soft skills pilot study was conducted with internship supervisors who work with the Human Development and Family Studies Program at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. An online survey was sent to 65 internship supervisors, and three focus group sessions were conducted as a follow-up of the survey. In 2019, Phase 2 of this study polled 76 employers who participated in a university career fair on what soft skills they expect university graduates to have at the time of hiring. This paper reports on findings to two questions: 1) What employers think of undergraduate university students who have completed an internship with them, and 2) What soft skills employers expect of recent university graduates who are transitioning into the workplace. Findings indicate that in addition to soft skills, employers also regard personal attributes and qualities as equally important at the time of hire.

The interplay of corruption, human capital, and unemployment in Indonesia: Implications for economic development

This study was conducted by examining the interrelationships between Corruption, Human Resources, and Unemployment in Indonesia. We use data sourced from the World Bank and Transparency International with the period used from 1996 to 2021. This study aims to examine the relationship that exists between Corruption, Human Resources, and Unemployment so as to provide information in understanding the benefits of investing towards developing Human Resources. in order to improve the quality of society. We use Vector error Correction Model (VECM) analysis with the research variables used are Corruption, Human Capital, and Unemployment. Our conclusions indicate that corruption makes a considerable contribution to the growth and progress of the nation and its people. In light of this, we strongly advise the Indonesian government to take decisive action to tackle the issue of corruption head-on. This can be achieved through a combination of measures, such as the implementation of stricter regulations and penalties for corrupt activities, the promotion of transparency and accountability in government operations, and a significant investment in human capital development programs. By addressing the root causes of the problem, the government can create a pathway towards sustainable positive change for the nation. Furthermore, our research highlights the importance of addressing corruption With the aim of establishing a more advantageous atmosphere for the expansion of the economy and progress. It is well established that corruption can stifle innovation, undermine the rule of law, and reduce investment. Thus, it is imperative that the government take a proactive approach to combating corruption in order to ensure that the country remains on a trajectory of progress and prosperity. In conclusion, our research provides clear evidence of the negative impact of corruption on unemployment and human capital in Indonesia. By taking decisive action to address this issue, the government can create a more favourable environment for economic growth and development while also improving the lives of its citizens. It is our desire that this study will be a useful tool for decision-makers. in their efforts to create a brighter future for Indonesia.

Optimizing Learning Pathway in Human Capital Development Programs with BERT Transformer

This study presents a novel approach to assist learning analysts in identifying suitable learning pathways based on historical training data through the utilization of text mining techniques. The dataset utilized in this research comprises training data from the year 2021 and the Course Development Management Program (CDMP) catalogue. The BERT 'bert-base-nli-mean-tokens' model is employed for encoding purposes. By comparing the training data names from 2021 with the CDMP catalogue using cosine similarity and dot score, valuable insights are obtained. The findings indicate that cosine similarity is a more effective measure for interpreting the data, thereby simplifying the process for learning analysts and managers in identifying appropriate learning paths for their employees. This research provides a practical solution that leverages text mining techniques to optimize the analysis and decision-making processes in learning and development domains, enabling organizations to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of their training programs.

INSTITUTIONAL RESILIENCE IN BUILDING HALAL HUMAN CAPITAL IN DIMADURA USING THE INSTITUTIONAL DEVELOPMENT FRAMEWORK (IDF) METHOD

One of the main problems in halal development is the quality of human resources. Several approaches to improvingthe quality of human resources in organizations are human capital. Therefore, the aim of this research is tomeasure the resilience of institutions in human resource improvement programs. This research method is descriptivequalitative with an Institutional Development Framework approach. The object of this research is an institutionthat focuses on halal development in Indonesia. The object of this research is limited to the Ministry of Religionand the MES Organization (sharia economic community). The data used are primary and secondary data. Datacollection techniques use interviews, questionnaires by filling in the IDF matrix, IDF Index, priority target chartsand documentation. The results of this research found institutional resilience index values for institutional andmanagement resources, human resources, external institutional resources, financial resources and human capitaldevelopment program indicators. These results describe comprehensive organizational tools in terms ofmanagement, human resources, leadership, finance and human capital development programs. The implicationsof this research are useful for related institutions in developing programs and policies in developing halal humanresources in the future, because the output of this research is an index of institutional resilience which can be usedas a basis for evaluating human capital development programs.Keywords: Institutional Resilience, Human Capital, Institutional Development Framework, IDF

The The Adequacy of Human Capital for the Fourth Industrial Revolution Era in the Mining Industry in Zimbabwe

This paper examined the adequacy of human capital in the fourth industrial era. This has been prompted by the fact that human capital has been regarded as the key driver of value creation, financial performance, and sustainability. However, concerns have been raised regarding the adequacy of the phenomenon under study, particularly in emerging economies such as Zimbabwe. This paper adopted a qualitative critical literature review approach and thematic analysis was utilized for data analysis and interpretation until a point of saturation was reached. The findings revealed that the adoption of industry 4.0 technologies in the Zimbabwean mining industry was still in its infancy and there was limited investment in human capital development. The study also highlighted several challenges, including inadequate infrastructure, limited access to funding, and a shortage of skilled labor. The study recommended that policymakers should prioritize investment in human capital development, including upskilling and reskilling programs, to ensure that the mining industry is well-positioned to take advantage of the opportunities presented by Industry 4.0.

Pathways and barriers to Human Development and Family Science student engagement in undergraduate research

The value of high-impact practices in undergraduate higher education is well documented. However, very little is known about high-impact practices in Human Development and Family Science (HDFS) programs. The goal of this study was to explore one specific high-impact practice: undergraduate research. Specifically, our study explored the benefits and barriers of undergraduate research for HDFS students as well as the pathways HDFS students use to become involved in undergraduate research. College student identity theory served as a guide for our inquiry. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 22 undergraduate HDFS students, 13 of whom had participated in undergraduate research and 9 who had not. Results revealed three pathways students took to participate in undergraduate research: interest in a specific research topic, connection with the researcher, and preparation for graduate school. Enhanced learning, professional skills, personal growth, and relationships with others were identified as benefits of participation in undergraduate research. Barriers to participation in research included time, lack of awareness, and feelings of fear or intimidation. Specific processes for students and faculty to overcome these barriers are suggested. It is recommended that HDFS faculty and administrators provide multiple pathways and supports for undergraduate students to become involved in research.
