Free vibration of rotating rectangular plates, with the effects of hub size, rotating speed, and setting angle accounted for, is studied. The plate is considered to be clamped at the rim of a central hub and is free along the other three edges. Symmetrically stacked composite laminates are considered, in general. Frequencies for stationary composite plates and isotropic and orthotropic plates obtained by using the present procedure agree well with existing analytical and experimental results. Some numerical examples for plates rotating with a constant speed are presented.
